Deleting songs off of 4th Gen. Ipod touch

I have never had a problem until now. Last night, I tried to delete music off of my ipod so I can add more songs to it but after I deleted the songs through itunes, the songs still remain on the ipod. I have restarted my ipod, I have reset it to it's factory settings, and the problem still occurs. How do I fix this issue?

on your ipod slide the song to the left and delete.

What do you mean? You can't delete the Calendar app.
Just how did you delete the event?

  • Why is it that when I delete a song off my 4th generation I touch it will not allow me to add it again. I manage my music manually (no syncing). I can add a new song, but as soon as I delete it on my I touch, I can't put it back on.

I never heard of that problem before. I I can suggest is the stand fixes:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost

least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Unsync/delete all music and resync

    Hi paul.lisa,
Then when you press down on one of those icons (on the actual Home screen), and all the icons start to wiggle, a small black "x" should show up in the upper left-hand corner:

  • Every time i try to sync my 4th gen ipod touch itunes won't recognise it and the ipod keeps beeping - is there anything I can do?

This is really frustrating.  Every time i try to sync my 4th gen ipod touch itunes won't recognise it and the ipod keeps beeping - is there anything I can do? I've tried using different cables. Itunes works fine with my family members ipod's & iphones...

The best way to manage your music when you have multiple iPods is to change the settings under "Options" so that you manually manage your music instead of it doing an automatic synch each time you connect.  To add only the songs you want, highlight them and then "click and drag" them to your iPod.  This way none of your daughter's music gets added and you're not in danger of deleting your playlist as well.  It will show you how many songs you've added and you can then click on your iPod to verify.  To delete her songs off your iPod now, click on the music tab under your iPod so show everything you have stored.  Find those songs you want to delete, click on them to highlight then go up to the Edit window and click delete. This will erase them off your iPod but be careful when you highlight.  I did that and then had to reload a cd on my boyfriend's, lol. hope this helps

  • 4th Gen iPod Touch music app is going haywire.

Recently my 4th Gen iPod Touch (version 6.1.6 recently updated) refused to sync any music. I have had it synced to my computer for more than a year and have been adding new music with the 'Autofill' option. However, last night it refused to sync music. The songs are visible on my iPod but greyed out. This has happened before. Usually it will sync eventually but this time is different. Around the same time my iPod was claiming to be overcapacity. I looked up solutions but none seemed to be particularly helpful. I did delete some music and videos off my iPod to no avail.
Eventually the problem seemed to fix itself with the overcapacity claim disappearing however the data then began to inflate and adjust itself out of nowhere. It would claim my music was taking up 30gig before saying 4gig. Everything seemed to be going haywire with the data reading. When I checked the music app the artists tab claimed I had no music. I selected a song and discovered that it wouldn't play but rather start shuffling in the playlist. I can't do anything to stop this. I have turned the iPod off and on and soft reset it (I think, I held the Power and Home button for several seconds) but the actions have done nothing. it is incredibly confusing as the iPod is only 2 years old and I would like to avoid buying a new one. I'm not sure how helpful a restore or reset would be but I will try it if there is no other option. I've searched the net for an hour trying to find out if anyone has encountered the same problem. Everything else works fine except for Notes which stopped opening months ago. Incredibly confused and would appreciate any help or advice.

  • How do I fix the sound on my brand new 4th gen iPod touch?

I recently ordered a refurbished 4th gen iPod touch and it arrived today. Everything seems to be working fine except the sound. I'll play a song or video and the sound will either come on for a couple seconds sounding distorted, or not come on at all. I've already restarted the iPod a few times and am currently trying to restore it. Is there anything else I can do to fix it?

    From speaker?
    From headphones?
    From both?
    Tried another pair of headphones?
    - Try cleaning out/blowing out the headphone jack. Try inserting/removing the plug a dozen times or so.
Try the following to rule out a software problem
    - Reset the iPod. Nothing will be lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup
    - Restore to factory settings/new iPod.
    - Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store. Seems you have a bad headphone jack or other hardware problem.

  • White Lock Screen Problem On 4th Gen. iPod Touch.

I'm having an EXTREMELY fustrating problem with my 4th gen iPod touch (32gb). I have owned my iPod Touch for almost a year and a half now and I haven't had any problems with it until now. I updated to the new iOS 6 and didn't have any problems with it for about two weeks. But after the two week mark, I started having a white screen on my lock screen. I would press the sleep/wake button to make it lock again and pressed it to turn the screen back on and it would go away, (so that's when I thought, "eh, minor glitch, they'll fix it...). But it has been a month now and it has gotten SO much worse it's not even funny... I will have to compromise with pushing the sleep/wake button about 30 times before it will show my lock screen. But after I got it unlocked everything worked absolutley flawless. Now ever since last night I can't get the white screen to go away!!! keep in mind, I have restored it TWICE and still have the same problem. I know I am buying the new iPod Touch but I still think, even though I am out of the yearly warranty, that I should get either an apple 'fixer' to fix it for me for free or an exchange for either the same exact model iPod or the new 5th gen. I never have had such a problem with Apple until now and would expect paying $300 for a brand-new iPod Touch should last me atleast more than a lowsey year and a half...

    Try:
    - Reset the iPod. Nothing will be lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at

  • When I put my 4th gen iPod Touch in my iPod dock it makes the sound and charges but when I play music it is silent. Help?

The volume slider at the bottom disappears, so it is connected and my iPod dock will play music on my old 4th Gen iPod Touch. My new iPod will play fine through headphones, the internal speaker and one other iPod dock I have tried. I have restarted it (home and lock keys), reset and backed it up and this problem existed when it was on iOS6 (have updated it to iOS6.1 - problem still exists). Any help or suggestions welcome!!

    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at

I can't get my 4th gen ipod touch to turn on but itunes see's it and is in recovery mode. I can hear the beep beep when I plug it in to the usb port. I have also charged it for 3 hrs so far but won't fire up. I tried the customery hold the home and power button routine but don't know what else to do. I tried recovery mode but the itunes say's"waiting for the ipod" and I guess cause it's not on it won't recover. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks in advance to all who reply!

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • My 4th gen ipod touch will not work in a philips or Sony docking station

I bought a philips(DC320) clock radio and my ipod touch would not work in it.  Thinking it was a problem with the connector on the radio I returned it and bought a Sony ICF-CS15ip because the store was out of the philips radio.  When I plugged my 4th gen ipod touch into that again my Ipod touch would not play through the radio but the radio would recognize and charge the ipod.  I tried my daughter's 2nd gen ipod touch in the Sony and it worked great.  So It looks like there is a problem with the my ipod.  Sony claims that the ICF-CS15ip is compatible with the 4th gen ipod touch and I have the latest IOS 5.1.1 on my ipod.  Any suggestions before I go to the Apple store?  The Ipod is only 6 months old.

You can try the standard fixes:
    - Reset. Nothing is lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Restore from backup
    - Restore to factory defaults/new iPOd.
That has worked for some users.
However, sometimes an iOS update will break compatibility. In that case yo have to wait for either Apple or the dock manufacturer to issue a firmware update.
