Deleting songs with 12.1.0

I know this is ridiculous, but the new 12.1.0 is so different.  I can't figure out how to delete my songs???  Thanks Smokey

There is an alternative downloader for 64-bit editions of Windows here:
iTunes 12.1 for Windows (64-bit — for older video cards)
that seems to address the most of the playback issues that some users have been reporting with the full 64-bit version (the alternative installer here is the same architecture as most previous "64-bit" versions of iTunes, i.e., a 32-bit application with a 64-bit installer).  The "for older video cards" label appears to be something of a misnomer as some people have reported that this corrects problems found on current / high-spec systems.
Some users have reported that after installing this alternative version it is necessary to adjust the "Play audio using:" selection (normally to "Direct Sound" rather than "Windows Audio Session", though this may vary based on your audio hardware/drivers) in Edit > Preferences > Playback to restore glitch-free audio (one part of the reported symptoms is that the "Direct Sound" choice isn't available, usually in Windows 8).
Another possible remedy relates to a potential clash between the 64-bit version of iTunes 12 and Google Chrome; some users have reported that uninstalling Chrome (not just not having it running) resolves the iTunes playback issues without having to install the alternative version referred to above.
Finally, you may want to think about reverting to iTunes 12.0 - see Turingtest2's notes on Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates for steps needed to completely remove all installed iTunes components, and for links to the 12.0 installers.

  • How do I delete songs with iOS 4.2.1 on an iPad. No other Mac or PC availably?

I own an iPad with version 4.2.1 on it and do not have an other PC or Mac to connect to. I can not delete songs or update my iOS version on my iPad. Any ideas . . . O_ o ?

There are no other ideas. You need a computer to update the iPad. There is no alternative. As for the songs, without updating to iOS 5.1.1 you do not have the ability to remove the songs without unsyncing them from iTunes which once again means that you need a computer. In iOS 5 and up, you can delete the songs directly on the device, but not in earlier iOS versions.
You can take the iPad to an Apple Store and they can update it for you, but you will lose everything on the iPad unless you can back it up on another computer, restore from that backup and then download all of your content again.
Bottom line - you must have a computer and do this through iTunes or you are stuck.

  • How to delete songs with ios 7

I don't know how to delete my songs that I want to delete on my  music

    Everyone,
In order to delete some of the songs that are not delete(able?) you have to first re-download them from the cloud. There just seems to be some confusion with the itunes match having songs show up that are not actually on your machine therefore, you aren't able to delte them.
-'Settings > Music' and toggle OFF "Show All Music"
-delete all the songs you are able to download.
-make a note of all teh songs you can't and then,
-'Settings > Music' and toggle ON "Show All Music"
-go back to iTunes on your device and re-download (click on the cloud icon) all the songs you noted in the last step
-Once they're all downloaded on to your device,
-go back to 'Settings > Music' and toggle OFF "Show All Music"
and the songs you donwloaded should be the only ones showing up.
-Delete those and you should have a "media on deivce" or something
-go back to 'Settings > Music' and toggle ON "Show All Music"
-and you should have a clean iTunes Match library.

  • Deleting Songs with Exclamation Mark (!) in Bulk

I have hundreds of songs, all (I think) duplicates that have an exclamation mark in the left most column. All these need to be deleted - is there a quick way of doing this or do they all have to be done manually.
I can't work out how to order the first column to put them all together. And I realise they represent songs that iTunes can't find.
    Thanks...

You can do this with a script called itunesremovenotfound which you can find here:
    http://home.comcast.net/~teridon73/itunesscripts/
Or if you prefer to say in iTunes, iT can be done with a combination of playlists:
Create new regular playlist – Playlist1
Select whole library and drag to Playlist1
Create new Smart Playlist with the rule: Playlist is not Playlist1
This playlist should contain all the dead tracks

Once you have all the dead tracks in a playlist, they can be deleted together.

  • Deleting songs with Itunes

I want to delete a lot of songs from my computer. I can delete the songs in Itunes, but they're still on my harddisk. Is there any way that I can delete a song in Itunes and that it's also removed from my harddisk?

    Hey there,
When you delete the music file does a small dialog box come up asking you what you would like to do with the files? It might say keep the files in the library or send them to the recyclable bin. You want to choose the recyclable bin and them empty it the recyclable bin when you are finished deleting music from your library.
If the warning box does not come up, you may need to reset the warnings in iTunes. To do this, head the Edit drop down menu and choose Preferences. When the Preferences menu pops up, click on the Adavanced tab at the top. In the middle of the window you will see a button to reset all dialog warnings. See if this helps.

  • How to delete songs with exclamation mark and duplicates?

I have a large iTunes library, around 600GB. Due to a HDD failure some of the files are no longer in existance and so show up with a '!' in front of them. Is there a way to automatically find all of these and delete them?
In addition, according to iTunes, using the 'Show Duplicate' feature, I have around 50,000 files that are duplicates. Is there a way to sort this out (not manually)?

For the dead tracks, there is http://dougscripts.com/itunes/scripts/ss.php?sp=removedeadsuper - I'm currently running it now.

  • Searching for and deleting songs with explicit lyrics

Hello. Over the years my song library has grown a bunch, but my music preferences have changed. I no longer wish to suddenly hear a song throwing the F-bomb around. Since I listen on my iPhone and cannot delete the song immediately, I need to know if there is a way to search for songs in iTunes for explicit lyrics so that I can delete them from my library. Is there a way?
    Thanks for the help!!!!

Thre is not a way to do it directly that I am aware of but you can go down your song list and just look for the red explicit label and delete it that way.

  • Delete songs directly on your ipd

Would it ever be possible for Apple to introduce a feature which would allow you to delete songs with your ipod directly?

You can do this by managing your iPod manually:
Check the "Manually manage Music and Videos" options in the Music tab of your iPod in iTunes.
There are also plenty of iPod managers that don't require to have a library on the computer or sync anything:

  • Change of functionality in deleting songs from iCloud/iTunes Match with the 11.0.2 version of iTunes?

I updated to iTunes 11.0.2 and this version brought a change of wording regarding deleting songs from iCloud/iTunes Match, and I'd like to know if there are any changes in functionality to match the change in wording:
With version 11.0.2, when I try to delete any song (uploaded, matched or purchased) I'm presented with a pop-up dialog box that asks me if I'm sure and also gives me a "Also hide this song from iCloud?" option.
In prior iTunes versions the pop-up dialog box would ask instead "Also delete this song from iCloud?".
Has the functionality changed? If so, what's the difference in functionality between 11.0.2 and previous versions? If the functionality of deleting songs has changed, how do I delete an uploaded song from both my local library and iCloud/iTunes Match?

I am having the same issue- pelase could anyone help? Mods?

  • Every time I sync my Iphone 5c(with ios 8) to Itunes, it 1. deletes all of my purchased music 2. deletes all of my album artwork 3. replaces all of my deleted songs. please help! this is driving me crazy!

Every time I sync my Iphone 5c(with ios 8) to Itunes, it 1. deletes all of my purchased music 2. deletes all of my album artwork 3. replaces all of my deleted songs. please help! this is driving me crazy! It syncs 100+ songs, when I only want to sync 1! I'm running Itunes 11.3.1.2

After having experienced similar problems and having it back to work, I have a few suggestions:
    - Try to find out if the syncing stops at a particular track or song. That might - out of the blue - have gotten corrupted in one way or another. Since that song will not be on the iPod, iTunes will try over and over to put it on and crash in one way or another;
    - reformat the iPod as described in the iTunes 9 crash-thread. It takes time (at first it seems to do nothing, but that is because the green bar is moving with very small steps);

  • Is there a way to mass delete any song with an exclamtion point next to it?

All of the sudden after resetting the sync history in iTunes (while trying to troubleshoot the fact that the upgraded OS4 was only syncing about 25% of my total music library), all of the sudden all of the tracks that it didn't sync (the other 75%) all have exclamation points next to them in iTunes, which for each song indicates "The song can not be used because the original file cannot be found".
Therefore, is there a way to mass delete all of these song names in iTunes? (then I can copy and paste the actual files into the "Automatically Add to iTunes" folder and the path to the file should work? (THEORETICALLY OF COURSE)... and... What would cause such a random error? (So frustrating because iTunes can locate where the file is when I click the button "yes" to the question "Would you like to locate it?", but at the me time two seconds earlier it's telling me "The original file cannot be found". ????????????????????????????????????????????????
Truly RIDICULOUS apple. It's like DUDE, ***? Is this some kind of strange gliche with the new piece of crap OS4 (which I don't even need because I didn't get one of the "four" iPhone 4's that were released)?

Therefore, is there a way to mass delete all of these song names in iTunes?
Yes, you can simply highlight all the songs with the exclamation point at once and then RIGHT CLICK and choose DELETE. This will remove them from the iTunes list all at once.
(then I can copy and paste the actual files into the "Automatically Add to iTunes" folder and the path to the file should work? (THEORETICALLY OF COURSE)
    Yes
What would cause such a random error?
Either the patch was disconnected somehow during the upgrade OR user changed the music's location (which in this case you did not).

  • After I have deleted a file from my iphone, it still shows the song with a download button? Is there a way to get rid of this totally, so it doesn't show at all?

The banner usually indicates that the memo is "Paused." If you go back into voice memos, touch the word "Done" beside the big red pause button, give it a name, then it will show in a list. Touch the memo in the list then touch the trash can icon that should appear.

does anyone know how to delete songs that came with the iPhone 6 in the music?? i tried deleting them from iTunes but i couldn't.

I know you already solved this but for future reference, there is also another setting to only keep songs downloaded to your device visible in music.
Go to Settings --> Music --> Show All Music and make sure it is turned off
