Deleting the Temp file for windows

Okay, the ongoig saga continues (about my iPod not showing up in iTunes). I called up Apple and wen through their steps but I got stuck on "Delete Temp Folder". Two of my files could not be deleted. Here are the two error messages exactly: Does anyone else know how to get rid of these things?

They both say:
"Cannot delete 'filename': Access is denied
Make sure the disk is not full or write-protected and that the file is not currently in use."

what that message is literally saying is that Windows found and tried to fix a bit of damage on the ipod disk. (it was in one of the folders that contains music files on the ipod's hard drive.)

so, lurking about on your ipod, there may be strange files created as a result of the disk repair effort ... and they may be interfering with the recognition of the ipod by itunes.
so let's have a look at it in Windows Explorer.
first turn on "Show hidden files and folders" and turn off "Hide extensions for known file types". you'll find those controls in "Tools > Folder Options" (View Tab) in My Computer.
now attach the ipod and go a "Start > Search".
select "All files and folders", and set it to "Look in" the ipod. do a search on F03 (it's a zero, rather than an upper case "O").
once the search has done its business, post a screenshot of the results. (i want to cross check your results against a search on one of the noir household lassies to see if there's anything showing up on your lassie that shouldn't be there.

The Windows temporary internet files folder isn't used directly by Firefox. Firefox uses its own cache folder and you can see its current usage on the about:cache page via the location bar.
If anything does show up in the temporary internet files folder then it is likely caused by using MS plugins like the Windows Media Player or Silverlight. You need to clear that folder via IE or the control panel (internet settings).

I am having the same problem. I did download the two files and started the .exe file. The .exe file appears to run downloading files. When the bar is full the window dissapears without any options. Both files are in the same folder. any thoughts?

After generating a .mov, iMovie does not delete the temp files

When generating a .mov iMovie creates a temp file indicated by a greyed-out icon. It is my understanding that iMovie should delete this temp file when the movie is finally generated. I've been working on a stack of movies lately and I noticed that my available space on the HD was dissappearing at an alarmingly high rate. What is happening for me is that the icon does dissappear, but the file itself remains. I know this 'cuz when I revealed the hidden files I found 1.8 Tb of hidden files sitting on my desktop, each the temp file of a movie I recently generated.
Any idea what's happening here? When I ran iMovie 6 (?) I didn't see this issue. I'm now on iMovie 11.

This seems to have been a problem for a while. My Aperture library is >500GB and I can't store it on the internal drive of my new retina MBP. If I hadn't moved to referenced files already I would have had to do it now.
When you point iMovie to the drive with the referenced folders you seem to have to use the 'import' option and cannot index the movies in folders lower than the one chosen. I can tolerate the inconvenience of iMovie not being able to use the index of referenced movie files. It's an extra bind that iMovie itself can't index a drive or hierarchy of folders to produce a pick list of video footage.
One thing I might try is creating a new Aperture library on an external drive and putting all my video files in that. Keeping that as a managed library, I can perhaps take advantage of the Aperture-iMovie link.

Unable to recreate replica as I cannot delete the xml files for the old VM on Hyper-v Cluster

My setup
There are 2 sites each running a Hyper-v 2012-R2 cluster comprising of 5 nodes each.
All the machines are in a HA state and stored on the shared clustered resource.
Initially we had replication working and it was replicating all the servers from Site A to Site B
There were some replication issues which needed me to stop the replication and redo it again, in doing so I firstly removed replication on Fail-over cluster manager on Site A and did the same on Site B.
On one of the servers I had to remove the VM, although the VM config and Disks still remain on the Site B Cluster.
I was trying to recreate the replica but it always fails with the following error :
Hyper-v failed to enable replication for virtual machine xxxxxxxx operation aborted (0x80004004).....
I followed an article to stop the Hyper-V Virtual Machine Management Service and try delete the file,
When i tried to stop the service it would restart automatically and I was unable to delete the file. I put the service in disabled which kept it stopped however I was still unable to delete the files. I also tried to get File assassin which can help delete
and clear locked files but it too was unable to delete it while the service was running or stopped as well as its additional mode whereby it will delete it on next reboot.

I have also tried to put the additional nodes in a paused drained roles state leaving only one node as the active one but it still will not let me delete the VM config
files, without removing those files I cannot re-initiate the Replication.

Can you storage migrate any other vms or resources off of the CSV that contains the XML file in question? If so you may be able to then take that CSV offline, remove it from available storage, re-add as available storage, and add to CSV Volumes. Maybe
that will clear your lock.

Where is the .iso file for Windows 8?

I bought the ugprade for windows 8, and ran "Windows8-UpgradeAssistant"
It scanned my computer, all was good to go. I finished downloading something... (I assumed it was windows8)
But once I finished everything, it gave me a shortcut on my desktop called "Install Windows"
When I run that shortcut, it gives me 2 options:
-Install now
-Install later from your desktop
This is what I see everytime I run that shortcut file.
Where can I find my .iso file??
(Note, my current computer is not the computer I want to install Win8. I'm upgrading now so that I can get the ISO file and save it for later use when I get my new computer)

Error while deleting the Temp File

Please see the following results I have the temp_03.dbf in dba_temp Files but have no id in v$temp_space_header. So when I am trying to do the alter tablespace drop file its giving me error. Cant drop the file at this time. Any recommendations will highly be appreciated.

Programatically delete Photoshop Temp##### files

We run photoshop doing batch processes all week long. Is there anyway to include in the javascript batch process a command to delete the temp file that gets built up. I realize they are normally deleted upon proper program termination but that doesn't always happen.
Since the name appears somewhat with random numbers I am not sure how I could point directly at that, the constant appears to be "Photoshop Temp" but there is also the numbers at the end of that file name to consider.
or for another consideration (secondary).
Can I put at the end of the batch command a line of code to close Photoshop? If so what would that be?

Yes, I am talking about scratch files.
Two parts...
If the Photoshop application is run all week and we process 1GB of files through there it is going to make a huge scratch file correct? That is also why am curious if I can put a line of code at the end of the script to terminate Photoshop which will delete the scratch file.
As far as workflow goes in our environment the best way is to take the recommendation of "try67" and use the getFiles() function of the currently logged in user and delete that scratch file if Photoshop will allow me to do that while the Photoshop application is still running.
Concerning the automatic deletion of scratch files...
I will take a closer look. I just had to go in delete 4 different scratch files on the day I originally posted this thread (3/7/2009).
I am going to confirm that the installation is up to date.
Another question which you will probably be able to answer right away. If I (user "A") am bumped out due to an application crash and someone else (user "B") logs in will it still delete the scratch file upon Photoshop launch?

Updating iTunes always deletes the data file behind my music in my library

Hopefully, someone can help me. Everytime I update my iTunes, it somehow deletes the data files for my songs even though the song still appears in my library. When I go to listen or sync to my ipod it says it can't find the original data files and so I have to re-load all my CDs again, so I just basically don't update itunes anymore.
Can anyone tell me why this is going on and how I can stop this from happening so that I can update itunes without losing all my songs?

This appears to be a common problem lately on some computers ...try the following:
Disconnect any iPod from the computer
Temporarily remove any hackies or beta apps
Make sure iTunes is in the original Apple install location=Applicatons Folder

Similar problem just happened to me with the Creative Cloud Update 1.7.1.418—slightly different so I thought I'd share. I have multiple Adobe Creative Cloud programs installed on my computer, all working just fine. I updated the Cloud App to the latest version and then it shows me that I have only one program installed! All my previously installed programs (Photoshop and the like) still work but show as "install" instead of "Up to date". Initially I thought I'd have to re-install the Cloud app or recreate the OPM data base but then I noticed that some of the Cloud app preferences (Apps > Settings > App Language) were different to what I had set previously. I use English (International) language, the update had reverted the app back to English (North American). I flicked back to my previous language and bam, all my apps now show as being installed correctly.

Thank you for your prompt reply. Unfortunately I am not that tech oriented and
cannot easily find that folder. I did notice when I was booting up the LR software
that I could accept the site where LR usually is set up or choose a place. I am
thinking that the standard location for LR software is corrupted and that if I
chose a different place it would work. I say this because whether I use my
original disc or download from adobe I get the same warning. I have 100GB of
memory on the hard drive and I have cleaned the computer with Mcaffee and free
software. What should I do next? I can't use this software and I doubt LR 5
would open up with my current problem.

What was the exact error message you received? When you removed and re-installed iTunes, did you use the precise instructions in this Apple support document to walk you through the process?

I suspect if you're trying to open a file in 08 that's been opened in 09 the file has been updated to 09 and will not open in 08.

Is it a USB hard drive? USB hard drives have the problem of not giving full speed if they are hooked up on the same bus as keyboards and mice. Double check your profiler to make sure that is not a problem. If it is Firewire, make sure there aren't other firewire devices in use at the same time. I recommend not only keeping a Time Machine backup, but also a clone, and if you do use Time Machine, to make sure the Time Machine drive or partition is at least twice the size of the original drive.
