Deleting unimported photos
When I open iPhoto I get a message that there are 322 unimported photos in the iPhoto library, and it asks whether I want to import them. I don't want to import them and want to delete these unimported photos from where ever they are. How do I find them and how do I delete them? I found nothing helpful in the search function of this forum.
This problem happened when my camera battery went dead as I was importing photos, and so the import was not completed. I changed batteries and started over with the import, and all of the photos from the second import try are now fully imported. After this, the above message occurred, referring to the unimported photos, apparently from the previous try. However, there weren't that many photos in my previous try.
I suppose I could simply say "yes" to the message and import all the photos again, and then delete them afterwards by putting them in the trash. I am just wondering if there is a better way, or perhaps there is some reference folder where unimported photos are stored and from which they can be deleted.
Thanks in advance for any help.
Thanks. That seems to have worked.
I found a folder in the iPhoto Libray titled "Import". In opening it, I saw all the photos in there. I removed the folder to the desktop and started iPhoto. I no longer got the un-imported photo message.
Shall I now trash the Import folder that is on my desktop? Or trash its contents and put the empty folder back into the library?

I have a 3g iPhone and I need to know how to delete old photos. Need to free up space and there is no clear way to delete these photos!! Can someone please let me know how to get rid of these pictures!!!! Help!!!
There are a number of ways to delete pictures from the Camera Roll. One is to open Camera Roll in the thumbnail view, tap the arrow button (top right), tap all the pictures you want to delete, tap the Delete button ant the bottom. Photo Library pictures are deleted by unchecking Sync Photos on the Photos tab of your iTunes sync settings, followed by syncing your phone.

I am having problems deleting unwanted photos from my photos app on my ipad, I synced with my pc as i wanted to see how the system worked, and now i cannot delete any of them, even with the delete button at the top left hand side, which does not function
If it was synced from your computer then it can't be deleted directly on the iPad, you will need remove/de-select it from where you synced it from on your computer and re-sync.

IPhoto is not deleting my photo and freezes. Please help.
I updated my iPhoto and now I am organizing and deleting some photos however it does not delete.
I tried cutting it and it went to trash in iPhoto, and tried clearing the trash bin and it does not do anything.
I also tried in the General tab to delete a photo and it freezes.
It must be a bug on the latest update.
Any thoughts?Oppps. just cheked and open the program while online and it finally worked.

How do i delete my photo library from my iphone 4?
My computer downloaded my entire photo library to my iPhone 4s & I'm almost out of storage space. As far as I can tell, there is no way to delete the photo library from the phone itself; I have tried.
I have gone into iTunes library to delete it from there, but I don't have a "photo" option. I clicked on all of the other choices on the tab in the upper left-hand corner: Music, Movies, TV Shows, Books, Apps, & Tones. None of these options have anything related to photos or photo libraries.
I have cleared my "My Pictures" folder on my PC and re-synched the phone; that didn't work either. I've gone through everything under the "Settings" tab on the phone itself, but to no avail.
I'm almost to the point where I just want to take my phone to the wireless provider and have them wipe everything out and reset the phone back to its original settings, but I'm thinking there's GOT to be an easier way to solve this problem. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance...As far as I can tell, there is no way to delete the photo library from the phone itself; I have tried.
Yes there is and if you are unable to via the iTunes sync process, there is a problem.
I have gone into iTunes library to delete it from there, but I don't have a "photo" option.
Photos transferred from your computer via the iTunes sync/transfer process are not stored in your iTunes library. iTunes serves as the transfer conduit only between the location on your computer's hard drive where the selected photos are stored and your iPhone.
This is selected under the Photos tab for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes. If all photos that were transferred from your computer to your iPhone are not removed from the iPhone after deselecting Sync Photos under the Photos tab for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes followed by a sync, try creating a new folder on your computer's hard drive that will remain empty. Select this empty folder under the Photos tab for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes instead of your My Pictures folder followed by a sync.

You don't need to take the iPhone anywhere to do this ends up being needed. You can erase all data and settings direct on the iPhone at Settings > General > Reset which will erase everything but the iOS version installed and the included apps, or you can restore the iPhone with iTunes on your computer as a new iPhone or not from the backup. -

I've gone to iPod then edit and deleted some videos, but I'm still getting the message. What is the correct way to delete the videos and should they still be there.
They wont still be there if you delete them, but if you have those same photos on the main computer.

QUESTION.
Hallo , my question is ;whenever I delete a photo and restore it through Time machine and Western digital external hard drive , I am able to restore the photo but not the titles and descriptions . Western Digital inform me that it isn't their external hard drive problem and suggest that it is an Apple software problem ?
I am using a Macbook 4.1 , with Mac OSX 10.5.8 . I photo 7.1.5 , last modifie4d 01/05/2010 -universal . Should I be upgrading Iphoto ?
I hope that someone is able to help in this matter , as i have to restore 12000 photos !
Thanking you in anticipation.
Alan from WigtonHallo Kieth ,
I am not quite ready to restore the full iphoto library , as I have days of work re - imputting titles, descriptions and enhancement . I hope that your suggestion works , as I use my Macbook basically to work with digital photography. Through time , I will need to delete my library to recover more disc space and I would hate to have to spend more time re - imputting titles and descriptions all over again .
Thanks for your interest and advice.

How do I delete a photo in an album on my 4s? When I hit the trash can, it asks if I want to delete everywhere, I do not.
Are you in your albums or your photo Stream?
Sounds like you are in Photo Stream (iCloud.)
Try albums.

When using Iphoto to import photo from existing folder to iphoto, what happens if:
1. I delete that photo in iphoto? will the original file in the folder be deleted too ?
2. when importing, does the hard disk store 2 versions of the photo, hence occupying additional space in the harddisk?1 - no -- iPhoto only manages fiel within the iPhoto library - it does not ever do anything with files outside the library
2 - No idea what you are asking - by default (and strongly recommended) iPhoto copies the original to the iPhoto library and you delete the source file outside the iPhoto library - iPhoto alwasy has at least two versions of every photo and some times three - it always have the original, a thumbnail and once a photo is modified a preview - this is not optional - if it is not what you want then iPhoto is not the correct progrtam to be using for phopto management

If I want to delete the photo library from my iPhone, how do I make sure I dont delete them from my desktop as well?
If you have copied them to your computer, then you will be OK. Just deselect the photos when you sync.

HHi, I'm new here, but just this morning, I opened the app documents to load some information for study purposes. I saw a folder called photo library. Opened and saw all my photos in it. I did not place them in it. The app functions do not permit me to delete them. I have struggled with this all morning, and find myself here. I also ask a few friends who upon checking found a similar thing on their. IPads also. What we want to know is.........Hiw can we delete the photos out of the app Documents?
WHen we we got to lookin into it, we have found that we probably got this auto done with the new sharing feature and we will have to turn off photo share, which it says will delete all photos from iPad. Is this my only option?Well you could have trashed your Silverlight install in some way.
That's what it looks like, but I'm not sure how, or how to fix it. I spent ages trying to get all the SL stuff installed, and had a lot of problems, mainly because of the issue with VS2010 SP1.
Does your app rely on a certificate though?
I wonder whether it's an issue with that.
It does, although I'm not sure why that would cause this problem.
Also, I get the same problem when running in VS, and if it were a certificate problem, I wouldn't expect that, as (I think) certificates aren't used when running in VS. Could be wrong on that, so if you know better, please correct me.
You realise, by the way, that Google have sety npapi disabled by default this month?
http://social.technet.microsoft.com/wiki/contents/articles/30387.silverlight-trouble-shooting-installs.aspx#Chrome
Ho hum, wonderful eh? Don't know what mine showed before, but I've got SL working in Chrome now, so it's academic (until September of course)
Hope that helps.
Sadly, I don't think it does. I still get this error, whether running in VS, or running the production app. I really need to work out how to fix my SL install without having to uninstall and reinstall all of it yet again. I think that's the crux of the problem.
Thanks very much for the reply. Any further help would be greatly appreciated.

I have the orignal ipad. I synced all my photos from my computer onto. Now I don't have enough storage on my ipad so I want to delete these photos. When I try from my ipad it only gives me the option to share or copy, NOT DELETE. I went to resync my ipad to itunes, after I downloaded the new version and now it doesn't give me an option to sync photos. How do I get rid of them?
Wow. That's weird.
Is your iPad jailbroke? If it is, all bets are off. If it is not jailbroke, keep reading.
First, try a system reset. It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo. Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears. You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore. Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset. It could take well over an hour! Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync. From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab. Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup. You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod. Again, say "yes."
At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod. As before, say "yes." Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time. If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device. Corrective action is simple - choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
If you're unable to do the Restore, go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here.
