Deleting WAITING apps

How di I delete "WAITING"apps

If there are multiple apps trying to download at once, only one can download at a time and the rest say "Waiting" until it is then their turn. Try this. Double tap the icon of the Waiting app, and it should resume the download.

Another thing to try - Turn the iPad Off & then back ON.
If that doesn't work:
•  Log out of your iTunes store account.  Go to Settings > Store > Sign Out Then press the Home button.
• Then press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously and don't release them when it brings up the Turn Off screen; keep holding them until the Apple logo appears.
• After restart, the Waiting should be gone.

  • Delete waiting apps

I have downloaded some podcasts that apparently never completed the download process. They have an icon to the right of the podcast title that looks like a gray circle witha square in the middle of it. They are apparently causing any app I attempt to download to become stuck with the message "waiting".
I cannot figure out how to delate these podcasts. (All other podcasts allow me to swipe and see the red "delete" option, but not these podcasts.)
How do I delete these podcasts so I can once again download other apps and songs? I dont want to hard re-set my ipod because I dont want to lose everything else I have downloaded. Thank you for your help.

    Hi,
I found the stock in MD04 transaction. Can you tell me for what purpose these quantity of stock is blocked here in the Stock/Requirement list?
I found a lot of line items and when i click on the detail tab, it takes me to a delivery order. When I click on the document flow, all the deliveries have been completed (PGI done). If PGI has already been done for these deliveries, then why it still shows in "Shedule for Delivery" status. I can not use those quantities as these are blocked and can not be used for future delivery. How to make it available under "Unrestricted use"?
    Thanks & regards

  • I tried updating an app through wifi but lost connection, it is now in the waiting state and I have no access to wifi...how do I delete the app?

Syncing over the pc doesn't help, I downloaded the updates and tried syncing it the updated app appears but disappears after it syncs, and the app that stays is the one that says "waiting". I've also tried rebooting, but it wasn't deleted...please help

First thing to try is to reset your device. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the device restart.
Then try delete the app after your iPhone restarts.

Todd, have you "thrown the switch" to tell Palm Desktop to direct the data to Outlook?
    Start Button/All Programs/Palm/PIM Conduit Sync/Sync with Outlook.
You said you're "using the Outlook 2007 Conduit" -- does this mean you installed the Outlook 2007 Update on top of Palm Desktop 6.2.2?  If so, that may be a problem as 6.2.2 comes with 2007 compatibility built into it!
I have read several posts recently where a user made the same mistake, and it caused some problems.  If throwing the switch above does not fix things, I'd uninstall/reinstall Palm Desktop, but do NOT install the Outlook 2007 patch.

The app is downloaded from internally hosted server.

I also have this problem with ios app and have reproduced the problem on multiple devices. It only happens when i use OTA installation process with exported ipa. I am following the apple docs for ios distribution for testing. I am not using a 3rd party (testflight, betatesters etc.) for this, its an internet facing  web server (azure) with all the proper mime types etc. setup. The install works fine, meaning i get the correct prompts to install, my app installs and runs, but I end up with an additional phantom icon, usually hung in an "installing" state, basically like prabu4u shows in his scenario. This icon/app can't be deleted using standard means (via xcode, itunes, hard/soft resetting of device, changing device language settings).
here is a brief section of console log, that is similar to prabu4u:

I do not believe this is a network, connectivity or web server issue. The udid of my device (and other test devices) are registered in the protal, they are all running updated version of ios7.
I believe its an issue (caused by me) with the provision profile (probably the distribution) packaged in the app. I have validated that the profiles are in the portal and are synched with xcode5 using organizer->devices->iphone->provisioning profies. it shows both the ios team prov profile and the ios adhoc distribution profile created from my developer account. They both show valid profile status with expirations in 2014.
I have done clean builds, rebuilds and redeploys of the exported ipa (generated using ad-hoc deployment scheme in xcode5), but the end result is the same. I always end up with the phantom icon.
I have read other posts that say they use a 3rd party tool to delete the icon, which is fine, but I really want to avoid this by correctly developing and depploying the app.
any ideas on where i made my mistake(s) ? thanks, bob

  • I can't delete symbian apps in nokia n93i

I can't delete symbian apps. I want to know how to delete the symbian apps. Please help me.

    See if anything here helps.
If the downloads are stalled or "waiting" - try these suggestions.
Tap the "waiting" icon and see if you can pause it. If it does pause, then tap it again and see if it will resume. If that works, repeat the same steps for each "waiting" icon.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
Make sure that you do not have a stalled download in iTunes - a song or podcast .... if you have a download in there that did not finish, complete that one first. Only one thing can download at a time on the iPad so that could be what is causing the problem.
If that doesn't work - sign out of your account, restart the iPad and then sign in again.
Settings>iTunes & App Store>Apple ID. Tap your ID and sign out. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Go back to Settings>iTunes & App Store>Sign in and then try to update again. Tap one waiting icon only if necessary to start the download stream.
You can also try deleting the waiting icons - tap and hold down on an icon until it wiggles - the tap the X on the icon to delete it. Then try to download again.
You can try resetting all settings. Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings. You will have to enter all of your device settings again.... All of the settings in the settings app will have to be re-entered.
If all else fails, download the updates or the apps in iTunes on your computer and then sync the content to your iPad.

I have an app that appeared to need to be updated. I clicked to update three days ago. It has started to update and will not finish. How can I delete the app while its in the middle of updating?

Locked on an update can mean a couple of different things. So there are a number of things to try, but start with these.
If you have a "waiting" icon, try tapping on the icon and see if you can pause the update/download. Of it pauses, tap on it again and see if it will resume.
Try holding down on the icon until all of the icons on the screen wiggle. If the X to delete pops up on the waiting/stalled app -  tap the X to delete the app. Tao,the home button and the apps will stop wiggling.
You can also try this and see if the downloads will resume. Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

That situation went from inconvenient to complicated quickly.  Wait for any pending orders to drop off, wait for things to clear up, wait till your upgrade comes up and then upgrade when your contract is fulfilled.  I would have suggested a replacement phone, I know, with only a month left why couldn't you just upgrade early, but these situations where people try to upgrade early always end horribly and once a phone order starts, it almost cannot finish until something winds up shipped received and returned.  Sorry this happened the way it did.  Definitely not efficient.

  • I can't delete an app

I am stumped. I tried updating an app on my son's iPod Touch and it got stuck in "waiting" mode. I did everything I could to get it started again, but no luck. So far I have tried waiting, tapping the app icon to get it to restart, signed out and back in on the app store, restarted the iPod, did a hard restart, plugged it in to iTunes and tried updating it that way, tried deleting it on the iPod (no X appears) and finally I just tried deleting the app through iTunes. According to iTunes the app is gone after I synced the iPod, but it is still showing the icon on the iPod in "Waiting" mode. I have tried reinstalling through iTunes as well, and it will show the status bar at the bottom of the app on the iPod and indicate it is installing, but when it finishes, it goes back to the "Waiting" phase and is greyed out. The App store on the iPod shows the app as "installing". I can't get it to do anything!
I know that I could potentially reset the whole thing, but his iPod is full of Minecraft worlds and he would be devastated if he lost those. I have backed it up, but I'm worried the backup contains this faulty app as well, since we did the update prior to plugging the iPod in and backing up. There should be plenty of room on the iPod for the app to load properly and I can get other apps to load, buy others from the app store on the iPod, and have updated several other apps in the process of getting this one updating.
Anyone have any ideas??? I am stumped! I can't find any reference to anything like this anywhere online (or at least I can't figure out how to search for it.) Please help a 7 year old and his mom out!

Not sure if this is any help, but I had the exact same issue.
Go to the App Store on your device, click Purchased.
Scroll through to find the apps that are phantom, or in my case grayed out/can't delete.
Chances are you'll see the cloud icon where it normally might say install. Click the cloud and it will look like its installing the app to your device. However, after the "install" completed, I noticed the app was simply no longer on my device. Voila..
Very mysterious and glitchy. And I tried every other method before this (sync, hard reset, signing out and in, changing wifi networks, etc..). Hope this works
