Deletion/archieving of the documents

Hi..
we are using the content server.
As there is size constrain can any body throw a light on deletion and archiving of the document.
Also if you have any better ID how to handle this issue please guide me.

As status is opened, it is not possible to archive the document.
if you want to archive the document, you need to put in close state.

If you check out page 44 of the iPod touch user guide, it says that to delete a song from an iPod touch with iOS 6.1, swipe the song, then tap Delete. This also works with Albums or Artists if you want to delete multiple songs at once.

According to your description, my understanding is that you want to automatically delete the following documents links after the documents are deleted.
I tested the same scenario in my environment, and I got the same results as you got.
It is by design that the links will not be deleted automatically when the documents are deleted.
We need to click Stop following to clear the links.

How to block attachment deletion in a DMS document

Hi gurus,
Does anybody knows how to block some users to delete the attachment in some DMS types? Is there any configuration that can be done to control this?

Hi Renan,
in the standard each user who is able to edit the document info record (enter CV02N) is able to delete the attached originals.
However a user is not able to delete originals if the document is set to a status of status type 'S' (locked status). Within this kind of status it is not possible to delete originals and change some other document data.
So you can also try to create a authorization profile where some users are only allowed to enter document info records with a non-locked status. So you avoid that some users are able to enter document info records which are not set to a locked status.

Maybe object C_DRAW_TCS or C_DRAW_TCD could be useful for this issue.

Delete and Recreate a Document

'You have entered the deletion indicator for the document, so the document is to be deleted during the next reorganization run.'
What should i conclude from this message , when i set the deletion indicator for the document ? I want to delete a document and recreate a new one with same values . I set the indicator , it is set and then when i try to create the a new doc with same name , it gives a message that doc already exists .
Can there be some archive and delete prog that actually deletes the document ?

BAPI_DOCUMENT_DELETE_DIRECT : This bapi would delete it from the database also.

Why when i copy paste documents from download to another folder,then i delete them from the downloads ,it will be erased at all?

I dl a file it goes to my doenload folder,then i copy it to another folder for example document,then when i delete it from download it will erase at all? why?
is it ok to have the file in both downloads and document? it will not be more size?

If you copy it to another folder, e.g., Documents, and you can see it in the Downloads folder then you now have two copies of the file. If you delete one copy, the other stays intact. If you keep both, there is no harm, although the amount of disk space used is twice as big as when you only keep one copy.

I wonder what your computing environment is. Is your account being administrated by another account? Are you working in an account subject to "Parental Controls"?

I created several pdfs & saved them in adobe acrobat pro. I want to start all over & want to delete these pdfs so I am not confused with more than one document with similar titles. How do I delete the document

I am working on a big project & creating everything in word. I then am turning the documents into PDF format so they will be easy for everyone to open. I have several PDFs that are not the way I want them & want to delete them so I don't have so many documents with similar names. Is there a way to delete a pdf from my saved document?? i used MiniTool Mac data to recovery! actually b4 tat i'm using hp computer and i saved all my files in my external hard disk. Regardless of application, the first step that I take is to save and name the current document — even if it has no content yet. With Pages, this good habit enables autosave. As you add content, your document revision history is restorable via the File Revert To menu. The delete key has the same document foreboding as only teaching a pet raven to speak "Nevermore."
