Regards,
Prasath

Hi,
Deleting is something which u will block for usage and still data exits in the system
Archiving is something where u permanently remove the data from the system
Go through the follow steps to archive the material master.
Archiving the Material Master
Before Archiving the Material Master the materials need to be flagged for deletion in T Code MM06/MM16.
Archiving the materials is done thro T Code SARA. All the SAP archive functions are shown in SARA. Choose the corresponding SAP archive object, hit enter and the archive administration menu will be shown.
When a material is no longer required in a company or plant, you can archive and delete the material master record.
Before a material master record can be archived and deleted, other objects (such as purchasing documents) that refer to this material must themselves be archived. You can see which objects these are and the dependencies between them in the network graphic.
Archiving object MM_MATNR for archiving material master records.
To archive the material master, first go to transaction SARA
Type in a variant name and click Maintain. (Tick the Test Mode for archive simulation).
Save the variant.
Maintain the Start date and Spool parameters and click execute.
Click Go to Job Overview to check the archive status.
To do a permanent delete, click Delete button.
Maintain the Archive Selection, Start date and Spool parameters.
Click Test Session for testing or click execute to start the deletion program.
Click Go to Job Overview to check the delete status.
This need to be done carefully and better to first do it in testing client.
After archiving those materials will not be displayed in reports unless categorically selected
Note: SARA is a general transaction where you can archive all types of records using respective archiving object

  • Usage of deleted material master code

    Hello,
I have one query related to material masters (MM01, MM02).
A material is marked for deletion using T-code MM06 some time back.
Now due to some reason this material is required to manufacture a batch.
So can u please tell me -
    How to unblock this material?
Is there any impact occurs in any module link with material master (i.e. QM, PPMC, FI or CO or else)
How can i cross verify its impacts?
I am highly obliged if you clear my doubts. So that i can proceed for batch manufacturing without any hassle.

    Hi there
In MM06 you can revoke it and use it,,
Just check the source list validity and regenerate if required..also the Info record validity period and price vlaue,, if you want to change the proce use the MR21 to change the price for the material ,,
    Hope it helps

  • How to delet material master

    hi everybody:
The user has created several material master by mistake, and some of them have transaction datas. Now the user has created correct masters.
The problem is the wrong master master are always displayed when running report or material selection. Is there any transaction to delete the master, or is any transaction to "hide" such material and make them not displayed during report or material selection?
I know archive is one option, but too complex. Is there any other solution?

    Hi Andy,
    Alternative1:
    Use transaction MM70 - Material Master->Other->Reorganization->Material->Choose.
Build variant with selection range of material master records to be selected for deletion and maintain
         run parameters.
         Execute.
         Use transaction MM71 - Material Master-> other-> Reorganizationn-->Material->Reorganization
         Build a second variant
         Maintain run parameters and execute.
It is also important to remove the records manually from info record, POs, PRs, reservation etc
for successful deletion of  the material.

  • Delet Material Master Record but not the range

    HI experts,
I have more material master records in production data base; now i need to delete them but at the same time don't remove the range numbering.
    I.E.
there are 10 master record with range number from 1 to 10.
now, deleting these 10 master records, i would like to avoid that the numbering starts from 11.
    thanks in advance
    C.

    Hi Jurgen,
I've gone through the data archiving project in the past. I was actually hoping I don't have to go through this big exercise for this minor situation.
The storage locations in the SAP system are fine. The problem is that when I came in to this organization, I found out that the procurement users have accidentally extended material master record to those storage location irrelevant to them. Those users don't post any stock to those accidentally extended storage location. They admit that it was a mistake. So, I don't really have to do stock movement or GI out from those affected storage location because there's nothing in them.
Now that I've initially flag for deletion (MM06) of those mistakes done by those procurement users over the few years counting to 2000+ material master records affected. But the standard behavior of the SAP system allows change to proceed in MM02 except for that warning message MM081. So, I was actually asking around to explore if there's actually an option to make it an error prompt instead and stop the whole change process at MM02 transaction level.
If I may re-confirm, what I've done so far via flaging for deletion of material master record at storage location level - is this the only correct solution available?
Hope this clarifies my intention of opening this thread. Sometimes, users are quite tough in accepting the results from standard SAP system behavior.
Thanks for the time in explaining.

  • Deleting DG Master in Bulk (Not by Manual Process)

    Hi Masters
I have a query regarding deleting DG master.Does anybody know process other than manual deletion of DG masters.
I have to delete about 200records which would be time consuming process if I am doing it manually.
    Do Revert
    Mail:[email protected]
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Nitin,
Sorry, I skipped ur quey last month, since noone answered ur query I am writing..
SAP enhancement DG100001 is available for developing your own change document writing functions.
You can use this SAP enhancement to define a customer exit to write change documents for dangerous goods master data and packaging data.
The customer exit is in the function group XD10. It is called from the function DG10_CHANGE_DOC_USER_EXIT.
If the system does not find a customer exit, a standard document description is called. This is stored in the include LDG1NU03.
I am not sure of delecting the master records using this, but you can discuss with developer on this ..

  • Deleting Material Master from the tables

    Hello Gurus.
We marked the materials master as deletion. But we want to remove from tables. Can any one please guide me
    Thanks
    JJ

In a production system is NO OTHER WAY, only archiving.
In a test system you can use MMDE, but keep in mind this erases the material from the material tables, but if a material was used e.g. in a purchase order, then this order will stay in your system.
If you reuse the material number you will then have inconsitencies to old transactional data, which may be pretty disturbing for all others that do tests.

  • Mass Deletion of Material Master

    Hi All
Please am trying to delete material master have created. i need a Tcode for mass deletion.
    Thank you.

    Hi,
In MM06 you can set deletion flag for materials (mara-lvorm).  For multiple materials, use T. Codes MM17 or MASS.
    ---> Select MARA Table
---> Select multiple selection, past all material list and execute.
---> Select DF at client level from field selection tab.
To delete the Material Master records totally, use SARA.  If there is posting done, then need to archieve that too.

  • Material master deletion

    Hi,
I created one scrap material master and then i am not posted any PO's and all. I want to delete the material, I marked a deletion flag through MM06 even though i enter in Sale order the material is appearing and quantity also picking. How to delete permanently in material master?
    Rgds,
    Giri babu

    Hey
You can control the usage of material by changing the warning message into error message.
    take the message number
    Goto TCode OMCQ
Change it to Error message. It will not allow you to use the material code any more.
Deletion of one or small number of material master is not advisory.
    Still you can do it...
    Check the link
    delete material master
    Regards,
    Raman

  • Checking of material chnages in bulk

    hI
Do we have a provision in which we can check the changes in material master in bulk ?Is there any table....because we can check for  a particular  material in environment-->display changes .But how to check for 200 materials collectively??

    Hi Shruti,
In what view you would like to view the report as for the same material there could be multiple no of changes.
though you can check the Table CDHDR(Header) and CDPOS(Item) for the MARA Changes
    use the given details:
Using values from CDHDR, you can read CDPOS where, for example,
    CDPOS-OBJECTCLAS = 'MATERIAL'
    CDPOS-TABNAME = 'MARA'
    CDPOS-OBJECTID = CDHDR-OBJECTID
    CDPOS-CHANGENR = CDHDR-CHANGENR
CDPOS-FNAME = 'your field name' wanted
    CDPOS-VALUE NEW
    CDPOS-VALUE OLD
    Hope it helps you.

and later they all could archived...Archive it from MM71 and can display this from MM72..
