Cannot delete old sessions from SM35 - Batch Input...
We have an issue, we are trying to delete old batch input sessions via SM35 and no
matter how hard we try we cannot get rid of them. They are still in status "In Process" but they are status incorrect.
Those sessions have long finished and some are more than 5 years old.
We have tried running rsdbcreo and RSBDC_REORG but it only returns with
Temse Error, running SP12 does not list any inconsistencies. Basically we want all jobs in SM35 that ran this year only available in the SM35 queue, we have sessions that have run from year 2004 to 2008 we wish to
    delete.
Anybody experience anything similar or have any advice, sorry this is an environment that i have inherited and wish to cleanup.
We have checked the following notes 706478,76422,706478,76422 and many more.
    Thanks
    Suleman

When you try to delete, you will be asked whether you want to delete logs too.
    Here try with 'No'.
    hope this helps

  • Delete only own batch-inputs

    Hello,
I am having some problems with batch input authorizations. I want to give users authorizations only to delete the batch-inputs which have been created with their own user. I have seen the object S_BDC_MONI, but this object does not allow me to indicate that the user is only authorized to delete his/her own batch-inputs. Is there an standard authorization object that allows users only to delete their own batch-inputs?
I have also checked the possibility to create my own authorization object, the same as S_BDC_MONI but with a new field where I can indicate that only the own batch-inputs can be deleted. But if I do it will SM37 check this authorization? I don't want to indicate the user in this field, because then I would need a new role for each user. I need a field (similar to PSIGN) where I can say each user can delete only their own batch-inputs.
    Any idea?
Thank you very much in advance.
    Regards,
    Maite

there's no solution to your problem, i'm sorry.
S_BDC_MONI only checks the name of the batch-inputs, not the creator or the username with whos authorization it is run.
creating your own object will only work if the calling program (SM35, SM37 ...) does the counterpart of the checking using authority-check. so simply creating an object and adding it to a transaction with SU24 will not work without the coding of the caller being adjusted. of course, this would be a major modification.
all you can do is to adjust your batch-input creating programs to apply those names to the batch-inputs that you can easily cover using S_BDC_moni.

  • Delete Batch Input

    Hi,
I need to assess who and when have deleted the batch input sessions using SM35 tcode.

Batch deletion can be viewved from SM21 system log where it also shows which user deleted the batch sessions. But if the number of entries are more then you may miss the messages in system log. So better you check the log for these deletions in regular intervels.
    Regards,
    Raju.

  • Tracking Deleted Batch Input Map from SM35

    Dear All,
I want to find the details of deleted Batch Input Maps from SM35. e.g. if some one deletes a Batch Input Map from SM35 transaction then I need to find the details of the user along with date and time.
I tried finding the table but I could not. Please let me know if this is possible some way.
    Regards,
    lalit

AFAIK this information is not stored in SAP database
(Check FM BDC_OBJECT_DELETE and include LSBDCF01 form DELETE_SESSION of FG SBDC)
You may ask system to store it in DBTABLOG "Log Records of Table Changes"
    - (SE11) Activate the general logging for the table - the technical setting of
the table needs to be adjusted to "Log data changes". To check whether
it is activated for a table, use transaction AUT01.
    - (RZ10/RZ11) You may also be required to set the profile parameter rec/client on.

  • Is it possible to maintain a view vai Batch Input

    Hi guys,
The user required to develop a BDC program to upload the data source from outside of SAP, and maintain these data into a view via Tcode: SM34. But it seems the view doesn't support Batch input.....
Can anybody tell me, is it possible to maintain a view via Batch input? Many thanks!
    Brian Liu

    Additional information:
This requirement is to upload the Overhead Rate data from outside of SAP, and maintained via KZM2 or SM34. But when I tried to record a BDC for KZM2, it seems that the SAP can not support batch input.
I find a SAP note 208474, it says:
    Symptom
Overhead rates of the costing sheet of the overhead rates, which have been created, changed or deleted via batch input or Call Transaction, are not saved.
The same rates are saved if processing is carried out via Transaction KZZ2 or the Implementation Guide IMG.
    Cause and prerequisites
Processing the Customizing transactions for maintaining the overhead rates of the costing sheet (Transaction KZZ2, KZM2) is
not supported in the batch input. This corresponds to the SAP standards according to which Customizing transactions in general need not necessarily be capable of batch input.
The batch input data of the overhead rates are not saved in the standard because processing is terminated by a COMMIT WORK. This statement ensures that the internal tables for the transport of the overhead rates are only deleted if their transfer to the database tables to be transported has been processed successfully.
    Solution
The subsequent modification allows batch input processing of the overhead rates, by suppressing the COMMIT WORK statement. As a result of the modification, the tables in the transport request of the overhead rates may be incomplete in single cases.
In cases where the overhead rates have not been transferred completely to the target system after implementation of the modification, include the overhead rates again in a transport request, repeat the transport and, if necessary, subsequent processing.
Note that the attached modifications are not and will not be included in the R/3 standard system.
I modified the sap standard program L0COEF04 according to another SAP note 150041, but after the modification, I still couldn't record the BDC.
Anybody who have ever met the same situation, or can give me some suggestion? With many thanks!
    Brian Liu

  • Problem with batch inputs

    Dear All
Could you advise me, we have many batch inputs stored in our system, some of them are very old one.
    What is SAP recommendation?
How long batch inputs should be stored?
Maybe you have some experience in this matter and can advice us>
Thank you in advance for your help.
    Best regards
    Maja

    Hi Maja,
if you double click on each batch input session, u will find the status, (Error, Processed, Not Message). u can delete the batch inputs whose status is Error or no message. those are all not in use. Even if you leave that also not a problem.
U can find the status in 2nd Column, if the 2nd column has symbles like (Execute, Create and Error). Based on that also u can find the status.

  • F.05 Foreign Currency Valuation Batch input

    Hello Experts,
We executed the Tx. F.05 for a document, then, in order to create the posting, we tried to execute the batch input in Tx SM35 but unfortunately we deleted the batch input session ¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡
Now the document appears valuated, but there isn´t the posting, What could I do to solve this problem? How could I generate the valuation posting? when I try to execute Tx F.05 again, it is not possible because document appears like valuated.
    Thanks for your help........
    Regards,
    Diana M

    Hello sbmel,
I executed Tx F.05 with "Reverse postings" activated, but system doesn´t delete the valuation.
I checked Tx OB59 and we don´t have valuation methods with procedure "reset", I think we have to create a new valuation method with procedure "reset", Is it right? or is there anything else that we have to do?
    Thanks for your help

  • Batch input session from F.05 has an 'in processing' status

    Hello all,
We would like to ask for advice regarding an issue that we are facing right now. We ran F.05 on 9/30/2008. This transaction should create a batch input
session and post revaluation at the end of the month and eventually
reverse them at the beginning of the next month. Unfortunately, as of
the date of the run, period 10 was not yet open. So, the results are
    the following:
The batch input created, until now, has an 'in processing' status. 70
transactions were supposed to be processed (but not sure if this is
already the total or it still has some more to process -since we do not
have a record of the supposed number of postings). Now, period 10 is
already open and we are trying to reprocess the session, but it can't
    be because of its status.
Looking at the transactions: total is 70 (but not sure if there are
still more to be processed supposedly). 35 transactions (pertaining to
the revaluation postings at the end of the month) have been processed and
their revaluation documents were already produced. 35 transactions (pertaining to the
supposed reversal on the first day of October) are in error because
period 10 was not yet open as of run date. No logs have been created (blank).
In the meantime, can we post manual reversals in October for the revaluation postings made in September? Is there a possibility that there are still revaluations to be processed for September? Let's say, instead of only 35, there are still more? Or another option: could we manually reverse the revaluation postings on September 30 and post on the same date, delete the batch input session (can it be deleted despite the status?), then run the revaluation transaction again for September?
Thanks in advance for your advice.
    Regards,
    Peter

    Hi Peter,
Go to SM35 > Select the session in process > Release session (Shift + F4)
Now select the session again from "Overview" and process again in order to process the remaining documents. Ensure the period is opened.
This should resolve the issue. Let me know how it goes.

    Hi All,
in our productive system we have still batch input session in process from year 2000, and I would like to delete them, but how to do this, because the error message is "Unable to schedule session .....".
    Thanks for your help

    Hi Olivier  ,
Such error occurs when you are trying to run session in foreground and some error occurs with connection.
As such these session are not harmful in any way. You can request basis person to remove those sessions.

  • Batch inputs sessions got deleted

    Dear All,
We have a major issue on our SAP Production server. We have executed the report RSBDCTL2 as a background job RSBDCTL2_300 on 29th May 2010 with delete option. This has deleted all the batch input sessions that were existing in SAP Production server. It has impacted severly our monthly closing.
We have also executed the report RSBDCREO which have deleted the logs of these sessinos as well.
We want restore all those sessions on priority. Please, suggest immediate work around. (Apart from restoring the backup)
    Thanks and Regards,
    Kedar

    Rishi,
RSBDCTL2 jobs deletes the sessions that exists in SM35. Rescheduling the jobs wont help. Also restore is not the right option as we might have to restore the backup of 28th May i.e. 4 days old.
Is there any other option or report that can restore these sessions?
    Thanks and Regards,
    Kedar

  • Security authorizations - batch input session - deleting your own session

I know that S_BDC_MONI will allow you to delete Batch Input sessions (SM35), but it looks like it will allow you to delete whatever you put in BDCGROUPID, irrespective of whether it's your session or some one elses.
Is there anything in security, which will allow you to only delete your own sessions, other than having different session names for different people.

    Hi,
Execute the session in error mode only. If you are still facing the problem, you will have to execute it in foreground.

    Amit
