How to delete inspection type assigned in material on mass level

Hi Team,
How to delete inspection type assigned in material on mass level. This inspection type is assigned in material master with indicator set as"Task List", however we are using "material specification". This inspection type is assigned to material type using t-code QA08.
I can deactivate this inspection type using QA08, but I want to delete this record from material master first. So that it would adopt my config. next time when I will assign again insp.type in QA08. I have set this indicator in config. of insp. type as default to "material specification".
Pls suggest me solution to delete this insp. type record from material master.

if Material speciiication and task lists are checked -- then no need to do anything,
but only task list checked and u want to do based on mat.spec -- then you need to deactivate and reassign same inspection type using QA08.
no other way, ensure ur stocks are not in QI

Acct Assign of material without material master

Dear all:
Here's the scenario
In IMG setting, I assigned my own accout modification (CIP) to my own account assignment category (0)
and I made configuration in auto posting OBYC to assign GBB/CIP to G/L account for no specific valuation class.
And when I create a PO to purchase a material without mateirla master with accout assignment category (0) and material group.
The system only auto assign G/L account to material group which no valuation class was assigned in OME9 (Entry aids without material master in MM IMG setting)
But I read the PA material it says "If you do not want to differentiate according to valuation classes you do not have to maintain a valuation class for a transaction."
Yes, I don't want to differentiate according to valuation classes, but the system result is not what I expected.

Hope you are aware of the field G/L account in Account assignment tab in PO.
G/L account will be automatically populated here based on the Material grp you use for the PO without Material master.
System will check the valuation class assigned to material grp ( Tcode OMQW) then the system will look for the G/l account in OBYC
Transaction event key GBB/Genral modifier/Valuationcls/Gl acc..
If there is an entry with Genral modifier ( from account assignment category) and valuation class ( from material grp) then the system will pick this G/L and
populate it in PO account assignment tab.
This G/L account will be used for further postings

Assigning valuation class when creating Material

I want assign "3100 -Trading Goods valuation class" to my material which i am creating. in Tr.code MMH1
In the accounting1 view, under the current valuation section, there are no options at all to select valuation class.
please help me figure out how to get the 3100 option into my valuation class.

u need to assign val classes to act cat ref.That act cat ref assign to mat type .
then syst automatically will give option of val class when ur creating mat of that mat type.
Log gen->mat master-> basic settings-> def att of mat type
here u assign act cat ref to mat type.
MM-> val & act assign ment -> act detr wth wizard-> def val class
here u assign val classes to act cat ref.

Material to class assignment table

we can assign class to a material in the material master of the material.
in which table can i find this assignment?

You need to search in "KSSK" table for class type "001" (KSSK-KLART) to look for class assignments for material. By the way have you used <b>*</b> before the material number before searching?
Please try to do as suggested... otherwise you wont get results, also let us know if you are giving any other selection criteria in the table browser selection screen.

Purpose of my question is in my program i am getting the material class with BAPI from material. Till now i am assuming that only one class will be there.
it is so till now. just got the idea what if the user inputs two material classes to the same material.

How to assign a class to the material through ABAP code

Hi,
I am working on a transaction in ABAP which takes material name, material description and a class from the user. Now, after this much input I create the material, its configuration profile through the ABAP code. For this I know I have to make relevant entries in tables MARA, MAKT, CUCO.. and also check for the existence of the class in the table KLAH.
Now the point where I am stuck is that I am not able to get how to assign the class to the material through the code. I am able to get the internal class id from the table KLAH but I am not able to figure how the internal material number is being generated in the table INOB and i need this number as well as the internal class id number to insert a record in the table KSSK to show proper assignment.
Can anyone please suggest me some solutions?

I tried using BAPI_OBJCL_CREATE. In order to understand it functioning better I created a material and class (of type 300) through transactions MM01 and cl01 respectively. Then i created a report and called the FM BAPI_OBJCL_CREATE, gave the material name as the material above, table as MARA, class as the one i created above and class type 300. I even analysed the message of the table return (return-message) after executing the report. The messahe said assignment done. But when I checked mnaually in cl20n there was no assignment done to the required material. There was also no entry for the required material in the table INOB which I need.
Can anyoene tell me that where am i going wrong? Please do help.

G/L is not automatically assigned to material component

Hi All,
We use transaction CJ20N in creating a meterial component, non stock item category(N), G/L is not automatically populated. Could you please tell me how does the system in SAP automatically assign G/L account in the material component. I have checked the valuation class for the material group and a G/L is assigned there but it is not assigning in the material component.

yes i have checked the network profile and the g/l account is mandatory, therefore prompting the system for the g/l account to be assigned first
also, the g/l account is assigned to the valuation class

Can you delete PO (Service, Limit or Material) in SRM ECS????

We are currently using SRM 4.0 (ECS) and we appear to have problems when deleting PO's (Service, Limit, Material) with just one line item. The PO after having the one line item deleted goes into status Error in Process.
My questions are these:
1. How do you delete a PO with one line item whether it's a Service, Limit or Material?
2. Can a PO be deleted in SRM if there is just one line item?

You have to delete each line item of the PO in order to delete the PO. Make sure you don't make the QTY and Price fields Zero. You will receive a RZ20 error in process if you are doing this.

Multiple class types for material master classification display default.

We are running on R/3 4.7. We use several different class types for our material masters (001 and Z01). The problem this creates is the end user having to constantly tell the system which class type to use when going to the classification screen for different materials with different class types. If a user views one material's classification page with a particular class type (001) then looks at another material with a different class type (Z01) the system tries to pull in information from the last materials class type (001). The system tells the user there are no assignments for the class (001) in the material their viewing but there is one for class type (Z01). The user then has to select the class type that applies to the material master their trying to view. Is there a way for the system to automatically see when a material has only one class type assigned to it for it to automatically default it in without the user having to specify the class type?

Check the configuration, have you maintained default class type for material type.
Logistic General> Material Master> Basic Setting> Material Type> Define attributes of Material Types>Select the material type> Double click on material type--> Class type

Batch Class Assignment

I have created a material with batch management & i have assigned a Class of type "023" in the classification view.
When i open the same material again there is no class assigned to the material.

To answer your question To which activity should we attached material component ":
Lets take an example:
Component "A" is being procured and dispatched to the customer. But before dispatching assume that there is a Factory acceptance test (FAT) for this material, so in your project there would be three activities with FS relation ship:
Procurement> FAT> Dispatch or the Shipment
Now you know very well that this material is needed for sure at the end of the procurement activity or at the start of the FAT activity.
1. Either assign this material to Procurement activity with Allign finish date on the general data tab of the Material "A"
or assign it to FAT activity with Allign start date on the general data tab of the Material "A"
2. So when you schedule the proecet the requirement date on the general data tab of the Material "A" is picked up from that particular activity.
Now to explain your question :When to chose the Stock and non stock:
1. If you wish to dispatch the material directly from the vendor to customer, assigne this material component--delete the procurement indicator and enter "N" as item categoty (Based on the configuration in OPS8) you wll have two options so choose third party order.
2. If you wish to dispatch the material after it is received in your own plant then chose "L" as item category and save it..
