Deletion of data in buffer and in cache memory

Hi Friends,
Can any one please tell me how to delete the data in buffer (bi server ) and in cache also.
Thanks in advance,
Thanks  & Regards,
Ramnaresh.

Hi,
This is my problem .
We loaded data to cube it was successful, again i loaded data which was modified in source system and before loading ,  i deleted the previous request.
Now in cube only one request is there and in bex report changed data was reflecting correctly.
This cube data is used in SAP BO reporting means they built reports on cube then in their report changed data is  not reflecting .
i have two questions here.
1) Apart from cube where data will be stored in bw server if it happen how to delete the complete data in bw server?
2) how bex fetch data from cube? ( because the way bex retreaving is differ from bo report retreave)
This the reason i am asking about buffer and cache.
Can you pls tell me  how  to resolve this one.
Thanks & Regards.
Ramnaresh.

  • How to Delete the Data in Cube and in ODS

    Hi ALL,
I have a cube and an ODS both the data targets have data from the year 2002 to 2005.now i want to delete the data from both the data targets with respect to data related to the year 2003 only, how can it be done. Any Help Appreciated with rewarding points.
    Regards,
    BW Seeker.

    Hi
Generally we can delete the data in the request for the data of year 2003 from request tab in manage screen of datatarget. This can be done only when we are sure that that particular request/s belongs to 2003 year data.
This can be better handled with selective deletion of data for year 2003 with some keyfields like 0CALMONTH etc..
This is infact only way when you have already compressed the data in Infocube.
    Hope it helps...

  • How to extract data from Buffer and create a RTP stream

    Hi
I'm working on a project where I need to interrupt a media stream (video and audio) and extract the data. Send the data with a custom protocol. On the recieveing side I would like to reconstruct the stream using only the data chunks.
I'm currently looking at [DataSourceReader.java|http://java.sun.com/javase/technologies/desktop/media/jmf/2.1.1/solutions/DataSourceReader.java] and more specifically at a method like printDataInfo(Buffer buffer) to extract the data.
Is it possible to create a RTP stream, only having access to the byte array "data" in Buffer ?
    Thanks in advance.

There are a couple of different ways to get the data. Reading it from inside a DataSink is perfectly fine...

  • Maintaining data of view objects in cache memory for repeated usage

    Hi,
We are developing an application which is having around 800 viewobjects that will be used as LOV in different screens. Therefore, it is decided to create a separate project for all such LOV view objects and keep the same in shared scope so that the data can be made availabe across the application.
The application also communicates with different database schemas based on the logged-in county. For a particular user, LOV view object LovView1 should get the data fetched from Schema1 whereas for user2, the same LovView1 should get the data from Schema2.
For this, we have created n number of ApplicationModules like AM1, AM2 etc in the project each one being connected to different database. A base application module also has been created and all the county specific AMs extend this base AM. Also all the LOV view object instances are included in this base AM so that they will be available in the county specific AMs also. The entire project is made as an ADF Library jar and this base AM is utilized by other projects for mapping the LOV by attaching the library.
At runtime, whenever a particular viewobject is accessed, the findViewObject() method of the baseAM has been overridden and the logic is built in such a way to get the logged in user's county code from a session variable and based on the county, the corresponding AM is communicated with and the view object is returned.
The view objects of the LOV project is used as LOV as well as for doing some other backend processes. In such cases, the view object is obtained and necessary filter conditions are appended to the view criteria and is executed to get the filtered rowset.
    Now, my questions are,
    1. Is it enough to create the jar for the LOVProject and access the view objects from the same baseAM across the application?
    2. I wish to keep all the data in cache memory to avoid repeated DB hits for all the LOV view objects. How it can be achieved? To be more precise, consider two users user1 and user2 logging into the application with different county. When user1 access a LOV viewobject for the first time, data needs to be fetched from the DB, kept in application scoped cache memory and return the rowset. On subsequent calls to the viewobject, the data needs to be retreived from the cache and not from the DB. When user2 also access the same LOV viewobject, the same logic as explained for user1 should happen. How can I achieve this? Actually my doubt is when user2 access, will the data pertaining to user1 remains available in cache? If not, how to make it retain the data in cache?
    3. I also wish to append a particular where condition to a viewobject irrespective of other considerations like logged in county, existing view criteria etc.. How can I do this? A separate thread for this requirement has been posted in the forum Including additional where clause conditions to view criteria dynamically
    Kindly give me your suggessions.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards.

    Hi Vijay,
    regarding your questions:
    1. What is the difference between "TimesTen In-Memory Database" and
"In-Memory Database Cache" in terms of features and licensing model?
==> Product has just been renamed and integrated better with the Oracle database - Times-Ten == In-Memory-Cache-Database
    2. Is "In-Memory Database Cache" option integrated with Oracle 10g
installable or a separate installable (i.e. TimesTen installable with only
    cache feature)?
    ==> Seperate Installation
    3. Is "In-Memory Database Cache" option same as that of "TimesTen Cache
Connect to Oracle" option in TimesTen In-Memory Database?
    ==> Please have a look here: http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/timesten/quickstart/cc_qs_index.html
    This explains the differences.
    4. After integrating "In-Memory Database Cache" option with Oracle 10g, data
access will happen only through Oracle sqlplus or OCI calls. Am I right here
    in making this statement?
==> Please see above mentioned papers
    5. Is it possible to cache the result set of a join query in "In-Memory
    Database Cache"?
    ==> Again ... ;-)
    Kind regards

  • How do I delete all data on sync and start over?

When I get my bookmarks the way I want them on my computer and delete the ones I do not want it gets messed up. I have 4 computers on my account and every time I sync it brings up old book marks. I have deleted all book marks from my computer and set up a new sync account then deleted all book marks on my other computers. Then I set up the new sync account on all the computers and still brings up Book marks. There should not be any book marks because I deleted all book marks from all computers before I set up the new account. I have done this 2 times and it they come back. How can I clear all my accounts and start over???????????

To delete all of the data associated with your Firefox sync account:
    # Go to [https://accounts.firefox.com/settings Firefox Accounts]
    # Login using the information associated with your sync account
    # Delete your account
    # Signup for a new sync account using the [https://accounts.firefox.com/settings Firefox Accounts] website or directly from Firefox
'''Warning:''' This cannot be undone and will result in the loss of your sync data

  • Will deleting a TV Show delete additional data, played counts and such?

In order to free up space on my HDD, which is full again, I was considering deleting some TV Shows, but I don't want to lose the play count information and such, will deleting the TV Shows do this?

Ratings, play counts, date added, last skipped, playlist membership, currently playback position, checked status and a bunch of other properties are only ever stored in the library rather than the file's tag. Program title, show name, season number and most of the other things you can edit with Get Info. are stored in the file, if  the format is capable of recording the metadata.
Perhaps, when iCloud is fully rolled out, changes to this volatile metadata will get synced via your iTunes account to all your devices. I can't recall if it was demonstrated in the keynote, but I'm sure someone has proposed the idea that you could start watching a movie on your iPad, pause it, then resume later from the same point on your computer without any effort.

  • Using weblogic.servlet.FileServlet - can it set expiration date to '0' and not cache the page?

              Hi!
I'm using WebLogic 7.0.2 and using the weblogic.servlet.FileServlet to serve up
              various
pages (HTML, Word, Powerpoint). If I change an HTML file and access it agin things
              are find
since the default expirationdate for it is '0' - however if I change a Word file
              and reaccess it
again I see the previous version of it. I have to clear out the cache and view
              it again in order
to see the changes. Is there a way to use the weblogic.servlet.FileServlet and
              force no
caching or a reload with every access?
              Thanks!
              -Lori

Well I never heard anything so I just created a servlet that inherits from the
              weblogic
FileServlet and puts in the expirationdate in the header before passing it on
              to the
              super class. It works fine.

  • SQLDatabase: Read a lot of data at once and process in memory or read the data when I need it?

I'm not sure how to approach this problem. I require a big chunk of data records from the SQL server. This chunk is based on variables, so I don't know before what records I need. I need to do a large series of calculations and each calculation requires one
(or more) records from this chunk of data. Again: I do not know which records are required.
    Should I:
    A. Load this data into the application memory all at once
This creates a single connection to the DB, loads ALL required data by a query command (and a forward only DataReader) and then doesn't bother the SQL server anymore.
The datafetch seems to be slow, since it's reading hundred of thousands of lines into memory
    B. Whenever the calculation needs data, retrieve it from the database
This would open and close a connection to the SQL db multiple times per second.
The initial datafetch is reduced to only a few miliseconds, but creates a massive load on the SQL server during calculation.

Firstly, if you can turn your whole calculation in to an SQL query (or a series of queries or a stored procedure) then do so. Databases are good at this stuff, and you or a DBA may be able to do a lot to improve the query if it's still too slow.
    If not:
Use a connection pool. Not doing so is usually crazy, unless you're writing a script that only connects once or twice.
If you're testing this in a development environment with a local DB, beware that there can be a big difference in performance characteristics compared to a production one and don't over-optimize based on what you measure. Network delays in particular could
catch you out. Fetching one row at a time may be fine with a low network latency, and awful with a high one.
Database sizes are usually bigger in production, and go up over time. If you fetch all the data in advance you could get caught out and run out of memory (unless you know more about your data then we do...).
As Pieter B suggests, you're probably better fetching data in batches if you really need a large number of rows. Then you'll neither blow everything else out of your server's memory, nor have a network latency and query overhead on every row. It'll also help
if you want to report progress to the user.
If you're really serious about making it go as fast as possible and not using SQL to do it, then you could try parallelizing your code. Then you can be calculating with
one set of data whilst fetching the next, and if your production DB has multiple cores and disks you can parallelize in the DB, too. You could also look at caching, if that's appropriate (memcached and similar, or directly in your server if you know your data
    sizes well enough).

You are right by your approach to update from PSA to ODS as u have wrritten before. Just got to PSA tree select the PSA request and choose update Immediatly or scedule for update.
(and if u have 0FI_GL_4 but u r not using it ..it is fine. I  was telling that in case u have that and you are trying to use somethin with 0FI_AP_4)

  • How to delete game data in game center Mac OS X?

I have been playing the game Kim Kardashian Hollywood in my iPhone and long before that I had downloaded it on my computer and played a while but deleted it. This month I installed it in my phone again and started over. I decided to install it in my computer again it asks me if I want to use my iCloud data and I put yes and brings me back to my first game. I have deleted the data in iCloud and it doesn't fix it. How do I delete in Game Center and see if it works?

Anyone can help me to solve the problem?
Or do I have to delete this infoobject and recreate it, then transport to PRD system?
    Thanks in advance
    Ji xiaodong

    Hi,
infoobject ZCCPT_S is used in any infooprovider (DSO or Cube), first delete the data in that and then try to delete master data for this infoobject, there is error deleting infoobjects SID's. i think that is why this error is coming. so first delete the data in infoproviders.
go to infoobject ZCCPT_S -> using where used list see where it is used .

  • Cache memory problem in Bridge

I am using PSE 8 on a mac (osx 10.5.8) and having a problem searching with Bridge.  I got a message that "Bridge encountered a problem reading the cache memory.  Go to central cache and purge cache memory."  I did that, but the problem still exists.  All of my items are still visible, with keywords attached.  When I enter a term in the search box, I get the message "No items to display."  I tried to rebuild cache, but maybe I didn't do it correctly.  Can anyone tell me how to proceed?  Thanks in advance.

Running a separate 8 TB NAS, 10 drives in my main system and 10 or so on
other various machines; and accessing my hundreds of thousands of images via
Bridge I have some experience in this matter.
My recommendation would to ensure that "Automatically Export Cache to
Folders When Possible" is checked.  If your external 3TB drive has a sleep
mode (power save) turn it off.  It is likely that you will have to try
either or both of these options.
This will not 100% solve your problem.  If you have space within your
computer for additional drives, and turn off hard drive power save, all will
be solved.  I would highly recommend a standalone NAS station in mirror mode
with room to grow.  Myself, those files stored on my NAS generally take 20
seconds or so to display after a drive has gone to sleep.
As for the temp files you referenced it is more than likely that yes, they
can be deleted.  If they are housed in a TMP, Temp, etc. directory then they
can be deleted.  A good way to check if they can be deleted would be to
temporarily change the name of the directory and restart your computer.
Afterwards start up Photoshop and Bridge and edit several files of a
significant size.  Shut down both and then see if there are any new files.
    Hope this helps.

I have an iMac 5.1 with Mac OSX 10.6.8 and 2 GB memory and an L2 cache of 4 GB.   lately I have been receiving error messages of " start up disk almost full; please delete files." is the start up disk the same thing as the hard drive?  I opened the hard drive and from the column on the left of the menu I've selected "search for" and under that " all images" then "all documents"  I've deleted a few files from each. Are documents and images that I have deleted from here also deleted from the folders on my desktop?

You should never, EVER let a conputer hard drive get completely full, EVER!
With Macs and OS X, you shouldn't let the hard drive get below 15 GBs or less of free data space.
If it does, it's time for some hard drive housecleaning.
Follow some of my tips for cleaning out, deleting and archiving data from your Mac's internal hard drive.
Have you emptied your iMac's Trash icon in the Dock?
If you use iPhoto, iPhoto has its own trash that needs to be emptied, also.
If you store images in other locations other than iPhoto, then you will have to weed through these to determine what to archive and what to delete.
If you use Apple Mail app, Apple Mail also has its own trash area that needs to be emptied, too!
Delete any old or no longer needed emails and/or archive to disc, flash drives or external hard drive, older emails you want to save.
Delete any other mail in your Junk folders. Also, look through your Sent Mail to see if there is anything that can be deleted.
Other things you can do to gain space.
Once you have around 15 GBs regained, do a search, download and install OmniDisk Sweeper.
This app will help you locate files that you can move/archive and/or delete from your system.
STAY AWAY FROM DELETING ANY FILES FROM OS X SYSTEM FOLDER!
Look through your Documents folder and delete any type of old useless type files like "Read Me" type files.
Again, archive to disc, flash drives, ext. hard drives or delete any old documents you no longer use or immediately need.
Look in your Applications folder, if you have applications you haven't used in a long time, if the app doesn't have a dedicated uninstaller, then you can simply drag it into the OS X Trash icon. IF the application has an uninstaller app, then use it to completely delete the app from your Mac.
Download an app called OnyX for your version of OS X.
When you install and launch it, let it do its initial automatic tests, then go to the cleaning and maintenance tabs and run the maintenance tabs that let OnyX clean out all web browser cache files, web browser histories, system cache files, delete old error log files.
Typically, iTunes and iPhoto libraries are the biggest users of HD space.
move these files/data off of your internal drive to the external hard drive and deleted off of the internal hard drive.
If you have any other large folders of personal data or projects, these should be archived or moved, also, to the optical discs, flash drives or external hard drive and then either archived to disc and/or deleted off your internal hard drive.
    Good Luck!
