Deletion of dimension is getting timed out in BPC 7.0 for NW

Hi Experts,
We have jus implemented SAP BPC 7.0 for NW.  We have copied standard APSHELL into ZAPSHELL and created user defined type of dimension.  We never used it and so thought of deleting.  While doing so from the action pane, we are getting message like 'Failed to connect to ABAP Server' even though the status is like 'Task completed Successfully'.
This is something strange and we see the dimension visible both in ZAPSHELL as well as in the backend system.  When we restart the server, we dont see any dimension with that name in backend but are seeing in the frontend using BPC Admin console.
Do anyone know cause and resolution for this?
You quick response is highly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
Regards,
Ravi Kishore

Hi,
Thnx for the reply.
Can you pls let me know in specific what those UJ* tables are and on what basis should I identify the dimensions.  ie. is that based on the dimension techinical name which starts with /CPMB/...
Thanks in advance.

Ravi Kishore

  • Getting Timed out exception while calling a web service

    Hi,
when i am invoking a web service(using routing), the osb proxy is getting timed out before receiving the response from routed service.
Also we are not aware of how much response time the routed service will take. so apart from increasing the connection time is there any alternate solution?
    can any one suggest.

I do not think there is any other way apart from increasing timeouts to call a web service from OSB synchronously which is taking a long time.
Other alternatives are either to make the service asynchronous delyed request response type, which will mean a change at the backend webservice.
Ideally synchronous web services are designed to respond within a few seconds and not take minutes for processing. I would say that if the backend web service is taking more than a minute then they need to either tune their service performance better so it responds faster OR change it to an asynchronous service.

  • New to I-pad and keep getting timed out when trying to download apps any help?

Any help when constantly getting timed out message on trying to download apps by using security questions?

I had the same problem! I don't know what caused it, possibly slow Internet but I suppose my antivirus or other software could have affected it. Maybe it's an iTunes problem.
After restarting the download at least 5 times in iTunes after it timed out, I found this website. I didn't know this before, but you can download the update in your browser and then apply it to your iPhone in iTunes once it finishes. I used Firefox 4 and it downloaded without timing out once. All you have to do is hold down Shift and then click on Update in iTunes and it will prompt you to select the update that you downloaded and it will apply it.
Try this and let me know how it works!

  • Always getting timed out box but when I "try again" it always opens

I will be on a site and filling in the data blocks and go to enter to move to the next page , when upon entering I get a box saying that I have timed out and I should check to see if I entered the address correctly. Upon hitting the "retry" button I am instantly at that site but almost always have lost the previous data and have to start over again. Happens on many diversified sites, on my daughters computer also and did not happen till the last update.

  • Device gets timed out?

Hi. I've been having some similar problems as many others but I haven't seen this particular one addressed yet. Each time I try to sync my new iPod touch to iTunes I get this message: "the ipod cannot be synced. the device timed out." Then the second message: "the required disc cannot be found."
My music plays just fine on iTunes. I was able to sync some photos but cannot sync my music. I've tried different things: switched from usb hub directly to laptop; used a different usb port in my laptop; checked my device manager and it does recognize the Apple Mobile Device USB Driver; tried to only sync a handful of songs instead of my entire list; have some songs on an external hard drive, some on my 'C' drive and some created directly from cd to iTunes. Any suggestions would really help as I'd like to be able to use this awesome new device. Otherwise I see a spot on the far wall with it's name on it. Thanks.

    Hi,
i have the exact same issue. the library is fine, am running winxp with all updates sp2, am running itunes version 7.6.0.29, the disks are fine, defragged with no errors, there are no errors with the mp3 files. the ipod touch is connected directly with the supplied usb cable. There are no third party aps running in the background.
itunes refused to upload mp3 files to the ipod with error message:
"the ipod "ipod name" cannot be synced. The device timed out"
This error message is displayed twice.
While browsing google, i find that i am not alone with this issue. The only conclusion that i can find is that apple have shipped a batch of defective ipods but i hope this is not the case as i like my ipod, even tho you cant use it for data storage and itunes wont recognize it without an internet connection which is also annoying. another annoyance, there is no filename display column in itunes, why is this?
