can we delete a existing number range of vendor account group ( for one time vendor account group) and define new one .
Please let me know , the matter is urgent

you can delete the number range if you did'n create any vendors in that number range.suppose if you created any vendor in the specified numer range,,
say for ex..if the previous interval is from 0-1000 named as ZA
if no vendor exists in this range means it allows for deletion,
suppose if vendor exists upto 8 means ,,,you cannot delete this interval,
instead of this you can minimise the upper range(i.e 1000)to 10
ie you can change the interval ZA - 0-1000 to 0-10
and now we can create a new interval starting from 11-1000 and can name it as ZB,

While deleting the Number range groups in CO82, initially I was able to delete them, but later, I was not able to do so. The error message is as below.
"The number range number 18 does not exist
Message no. NR019"
What is the implication and how to solve or correct this?

Mass deletion of document number ranges intervals for several company codes

Dear experts,
We are running version ECC6 and are about to go-live a lot of company codes simultaneously. We would like to delete satndard number ranges intervals for these company codes.
Is there a way to delete the number ranges intervals (which have not been used) for several company codes at the same time ? I'm looking for a transaction or a program similar to OBH1 (used for the creation of number ranges ).

I am also not aware of such T.code to delete number ranges for a company code.
Alternatively, you can go to FBN1 in change intervals mode.
From the Menu Select all and Press Shift + F2 (Delete interval).
Ofcourse, this have to be done individually for each co. code.

When you go to No Range screen for e.g. MMNR,
here click on Change Status button and make current number as zero and then save
Then come back and click Change Interval and delete

Change number ranges / Delete number range
For deletion, keep this in thought.
<b>You can delete number ranges if no numbers were assigned from it. If numbers have already been assigned from this range, if it is a range with internal number assignment, the system prevents deletion. If the range has external number assignment, a warning message is issued. If you delete a number range, you must assign new number ranges to the document types affected by the deletion.</b>

in that the number range i have is 82617 to 82627 and current number is 82617.
can we delete the above range or else i want to get deleted the whole group.

If 82617 is already assigned to particular material then you cannot delete that number range 82617-82627.

Different number range for recurring docs for diff company code

Hi,
We define X1 as the number range for recurring company codes. For 2 company codes, we have given the same number range for X1, 100000-1999999
Now when a recurring doc is posted for both the company codes monthly, the company codes have same dco number which confuses the user.
Is there any way to change the set up of the number range like deleting the one existing and starting with the new series
Any other suggestions are appreciated

You cannot deleted the number range if it has already been posted, however, you just limit or restrict the upper limit equal to the current number.
Create a new number for other company code.
the number ranges are defined at company code level / fiscal year level.
The number ranges can be year dependent or year independent
They may be internal or external.

goto FBN1 and click on status make the current number to 0 and then delete the desired number range.

Hi Lucie,
This happens due to buffering of the number range in question. You can go to SNRO transaction (object KREDITOR) and change the buffering options (deactivate them, actually). Please, consult your ABAP team before doing this. For more info, see note 62077.

OM Number Ranges Error

I am getting the following error when I am creating a position through PO13
NO VALID INTERVAL FOUND (Internal Number Assignment)
I have done the following settings:
OOAP: PLOGI     PLOGI          01
OONC: NUMGR   COMP Blank
OONR: 01S IN EX
           01 10000                    99999    Left the box unchecked as i want internal range
And I am getting the above mentioned error..
I have deleted the number range $$$$ which was in the standard system as my friend suggested and it was picking up the only numbers defined in range for $$$$.
Please suggest what can be done !!

Go to TCODE OONR select $$$$ .on screen you mind tab Number rqange Maintainence
create the number range for this.
You can create you own sub group
ypou can ask BASIS Person if thery cipy from standard client.

Material Master number range

Hi Gurus,
In the our system, following number ranges are set for material master,
1 - 820000     to 899999     Current number 896492 (internal)
2 - 900000     to 979999
3 - 980000 to 999999
The number range 1 is going to complete.
As the next numbers after 899999 is already in use for different material type, I will not be able to extend the material number range 1.
What should I do,
Should I create altogether new number range and assign to this material type?
- Will system allow me to add another new number range along with existing number range or I need to remove the existing number range and attach new number range. (not yet tried. based on your feed back will try)
- If system allow to add the new number range along with existing, will system understand after reaching last number, it will go to next number range and start from there.

then just delete the number range from the group and add a new one.
Use the delete icon with the red line to delete the number range from the group.
You have to change the status to 0 first
To quote the SAP help
1. Branch to number status maintenance.
2. Set the number status to '0'.
3. Branch to interval maintenance.
4. Delete the interval.
Then you can add a new interval

Number Range Split from external to internal generation

Dear Expert,
Currently we have various customer account group for which single below number rang 02 is assigned. Client has sub-range slab which assigned to different account group, unfortunately this is setup was not setup in SAP system. Hence whenever user wanted to create new customer in particular group they look for last account number used in that sub-goup and then input account number. Now client want to shift everything in auto-generation and wanted to use same sub-range number in continuation. which I am finding difficulties since last number used from the 02 number range is 202102 and I am not sure how system will react if I delete existing number range 02 and then split with different number range and what will be the implication on existing records?
Looking for the assistance!
E.g. Setup: External Number

Currently there is one number range assigned to both customer group and now we wanted to split and change to internal assignment. In below case A0001 should use next number 201151 and A0002 next number should be 202103? second group A0002 is possible by ending last number as 202102 in number 02, but how I will achieve group A0001 to generate next number as 201151?

PA04-How to make existing Number Range/interval external.

Question: PA04-How to make existing Number Range/interval external.
One of the Pernr Number ranges/interval in PA04 is Internal(box is
unchecked) and i want to make it "External" (check the box) to load some data.
Issue: The issue is, the check box is Greyed out and i can not check it. But i have access to
everything else in PA04:
- create and delete number ranges
- change the "Current number"
- Uncheck the box to make the External to Internal.
But i can not Check the box to make it External from Internal due to the greyed
out box for this number range.
The only solution i can think of about it is to - Delete the number range
and add it again and check the box when doing that. And once the Data load is done Uncheck the box.
Is there a better option..?
