Deliveries through project

Hi,
We have a customer project where we have hunderds of BOMs to be delivered through project. We will be using results analysis for calculating WIP and project profitability.
What are the options that I have, to do the deliveries through the project.
1. Can I use the networks alone to manage the BOMs and deliver them?
2. Should I use production orders and bring the sub-assemblies as project stock and then deliver from the project ?
I appreciate some discussion on to how to go about this requirement.

I need one clarification , though.
1. We want to generate material requirements for purchasing raw materials by creating reservations in one of the wbss and then run MRP to generate PRs. The PRs will be procured to plant stock and then issued for production orders as generated below.
2. We will be doing PS BOM transfer or some other means of uploading BOM assemblies to network activities in some other wbss.( for production and not for purchasing). These reservations should be created with negative quantity so that they will be produced and not procured. (When we run PP-MRP , these reservations will be converted to production orders via planned orders).
When the sub-assemblies are delivered to project stock via production orders , we want to deliver them through the project.
Please review and comment whether the above processes will work as outlined above.
The reservations which are created in poitn 1 above , will remain as such. I am not sure about how to get rid of them ? Please comment.

Hi,
There is process in SAP where we can create AuC from Projects. We need to have an investement profile set up and the same needs to be used in the project. You will have the details in SAP Help documnetation for this.

Stock transfer purchase requisition through project builder

For transfering material from one plant to another plant we have to create stock transfer purchase requisition through project builder.
Can is it possible to create stock transfer purchase requisition through project builder which will have account assignment category as Q & item category U.

We are dealing with project specific stocks & customer project scenario.
My requirement is that we having 2 plants. Projects are created in 1001 plant, same plant does the mfg. of FG items required for projects & 1002 plant manufactures MTS items which are required to mfg. project FG items as well as same items will bring into 1001 plant and then delivered to customer.
Here my clients want to create stock transfer pr through project builder to bring MTS items from 1002 plant to 1001 plant & then delivered to customer.
I think as you said this is not possible in std. sap to create stock transfer pr through project builder.

For FG through MB1A with movement type 221 you can do the GI from plant stock to project stock. Project stock FG will get updated.

at the time creating delivery through project tcode : CNS0, i am getting following error please help to resove this

If this message appears during online processing, you can edit the document by choosing Edit -> Log of incomplete items.

Hi, when trimming a project through project manager I get blue lines and the video is missing. I'm using PP CC 2014. Why is this?

I have tried through Project manager to save a "Trimmed Project" but when I open up the trimmed project some video is missing or is the wrong video and on the timeline these missing videos have a diagonal blue line. Any idea on why this is happening would be greatly appreciated.

Is this a Mac? If so what version of OSX?

Hi,
You have to link an asset to WBS.
Set settlement profile for the WBS to allow to settle the costs to assets.
Define settlement rule for the WBS.
Post costs on WBS.
Execute settlement of the costs.

Creation of Inbound Deliveries through IDOC

Hello All,
I have a scenario wherein through SPRO the configuration has been set to throw an error message in case a new delivery is getting created through VL31N and the total quantity of the inbound deliveries created till now(including the one getting created now) exceeds the PO quantity , but the same is not applicable for deliveries created through IDOC.
For example : I have a PO with order quantity of 2pc's
I create 2 inbound deliveries each of quantity 1 . Now if i try to create a new inbound delivery through VL31N system throws a error message.
But through an IDOC i am able to create any number of deliveries though the total of all the inbound deliveries exceeds the order quantity in PO.
Is there any way that the same SPRO setting can be made active for Inbound deliveries created through IDOC also.
Helpful answers would definitely be rewarded.

IDocs and BAPIs sometimes behave differently than transactions. You might need to add a user exit specifically for IDoc processing. Otherwise send a message to SAP and have them look at it.

Creation of Production order for FInished Product through Project

Pls clear me on how we can create a Production Order for finished product.
If we confirm the production orders in PP, cant the same be confirmed in PS.. Should we consider the same activity types in both PS and PP

I have a Assemblies B and C which are always delivered in sets.. under assemblies B and C, we have 6 sub assemblies which has its own components. I am assigning sub assemblies to differenet WBS elements 01 and 02. so, initially these sub-assemblies are produced to stock. this should happen in PP i.e., through production orders generated in MRP run ( MD51 ). In the next phase i will assign Assemblies B and C to another WBS element. Again system should generate two Production orders thru MRP for this. Here the 6 sub-assemblies produced earlier will be consumed in confirmation of the production order...
What i am doing is this correct...
and the procurement for the components is happening thru the purchase requisition generated via MRP. the components themselves are not directly assigned to the project..
Pls advise and clarify?

Sub-contracting through Project system.

Can some one please help me in understanding how Project system (PS) is supporting sub-contracting scenarios.
I am looking for activity sub-contracting and also sub-contracting with Project stock materials.
I am aware of normal sub-contracting through production order and also sub-contracting through MM. I am specifically looking for sub-contracting in PS.

Hi,
If requirements for subcontract items (or services) are generated automatically from PS just make sure that the right document category is used (subcontract) then any requisitions or planned orders etc. will have the right category.
There is no difference between PP, PS and PM effectively, they all use subcontracting in the same way it is just how the requirement is triggered that is slightly different.
If you need details on how to trigger the right type of requirement through PS then you may need to use one of teh financial forums that cover PS? (is there one?)

Raise the PR through project with unknown item category "U"

HI,
In my business process, i have raised the PR's through the projects. at the time of material assignment we need to give the item category N or L .But at the time of material assignment to the activity,whether third party sale or local sale is not decide .it's only decide at the time of PO creation .is there any options or configuration process to assign the unknown item category at the material assignment the PROJECT?

Item category available is either N or L. I don't think there is any U available.
If you are referring account assignment in PR. for project it should Q, P or N. U is not for project.
What is the purpose of assigning / planning materials in your project during the initial stage?, is it for cost planning? if it is only for cost planning then follow what Virendra has recommended.

Changing project settings mid way through project?

Hi guys, I've just created some plain text (with black background) for the credits in my film, however when played back on a dvd player, the text is broken and has vertical lines running through it (best way I can explain it - hope it makes sense).
I read on the forums that my current projects compression (DV PAL) is probably causing this and if I "change your sequence settings to Uncompressed 10bit and do an export of the final show for delivery. The text and any graphics should look much better"
Is this true? Will this not mess up my project i.e. editing points etc? Will this also improve overall project quality?

Is this a title crawl? If so, you might do better by creating a separate sequence with just the crawl and set the field dominance for this sequence to none, export this sequence with sequence settings and edit this clip into your complete show.
If it's not a title crawl and you're doing any vertical repositioning, make sure that the vertical coordinate is an even number (2, 4, 6 not 1, 3, or 5, and so on).
Although you may have a slight improvement in quality changing your sequence settings, I doubt you'll see much of a difference. To be sure you're not screwing anything up, duplicate your sequence before changing the sequence settings.
