Delivering to Email Folders

does BB have the ability to deliver email messages into specific folders, like in my Outlook?  I use my BB for personal email only NOT work.

Hi kellykago,
Delivering email to folders other than the inbox is not a feature of the BlackBerry Internet Service.
Thanks,

  • Facebook notifications while using seperate email folders?

I don't use the primary message folder because I like my emails seperate. When I get a Facebook notification via email, it would typically be intercepted by the FB app and would go to the location on the FB app (Like messages or notifications). This doesn't happen anymore when I hid the primary message folder and only used the individual email folders. Is there any way to fix this? It annoys the fact that I can't just quickly click on the folder and see what's up. Now I have to go to the Facebook app itself and look there.
    Thanks!

  • Move email folders from one account to another . Both on Thunderbird

We have our email email on Thunderbird client at one domain name. We are switching the domain name (or rather shortening it) . How do I move the 500+ email folders to new domain without manual copy and paste?

Some possible options in no particular order:
    (1) Copy the folders to a SUB Thumb Drive.
    (2) Use Dropbox
    (3) If your Macs are compatible with AirDrop see list:
MacBook Pro (Late 2008 or newer)
MacBook Air (Late 2010 or newer)
    MacBook (Late 2008 or newer)
    iMac (Early 2009 or newer)
Mac Mini (Mid 2010 or newer)
Mac Pro (Early 2009 with AirPort Extreme card, or Mid 2010)
Activate AirDrop on both Macs to Move/Copy your Mail Folders.

    What instructions?
In the source list click devices (so far so good) then click the entry for your iphone or ipod.  that doesn't exist. HELP asap
You don't import photos from the iPhone to your computer using iTunes.
See this -> iOS: Importing personal photos and videos from iOS devices to your computer
Note this only applies to photos taken with the iPhone. Any photos you previously added to your iPhone using iTunes should be copied from old computer to new computer.

  • Just got a new imac, my email set up fine on it, but I need to get the email folders from comcast transferred to the new imac...how do I do this?

How do I transfer my email folders on comcast over to my new imac?  I am getting email but need the folders which have all my old/saved items.

BTW if this is your first Mac or you're not familiar with how to create folders and rules I'd recommend watching the following Mail tutorials:

  • After migrating to new mac, email folders are lost.

I used Migration Assistant to transfer files and data from my old MacBook Air to my new MacBook Air. Everything seems to have transferred just fine, except for my email folders. I have tried plugging in Time Machine to restore them from my backups on my old mac, but the new mac doesn't recognize backups on the old one, so I can't access it through Time Machine while in the mail program. So then I tried searching for my mail files, which (according to what I've read) should be in Library/Mail, but I have no Mail folder that I can find by that path (or, really, by any other). I believe both macs are running Mountain Lion.

That Library folder is actually the one in your home folder, which is hidden. You can view it by clicking the Go menu in Finder while holding the Option key down - you'll then see a shortcut to Library.
The mail is held in ~/Library/Mail/V2, inside folders named for each mail account. You should be able to use the File - Import Mailboxes menu in Mail to retrieve them.

I have text documents in my email folders which I can't open. They are PDF files and Open Office documents. How do I open these documents?

These are the "out of the box" file formats that you can view on the iPad as mail attachments. If the file is not listed here, you cannot view it without a compatible third party app. What is the file extension?
Viewable document types: .jpg, .tiff, .gif (images); .doc and .docx (Microsoft Word); .htm and .html (web pages); .key (Keynote); .numbers (Numbers); .pages (Pages); .pdf (Preview and Adobe Acrobat); .ppt and .pptx (Microsoft PowerPoint); .txt (text); .rtf (rich text format); .vcf (contact information); .xls and .xlsx (Microsoft Excel)

You can only have email folders on the iPhone if you have an IMAP or MS Exchange account. If you do have one of these account types the folders will be created automatically.

  • My email folders on iCloud mail are missing

I have a new IPad Mini. All of my email folders are now missing after restoring from ICloud backup.
Any help is appreciated. Thank you!

Force-close the Mail app (double-tap the home button, swipe up on the Mail app to close it, tap the home button again), then reset it (hold the sleep/wake and home buttons at the same time until you see the Apple logo, then release.  Check Mail.
If the folder still aren't there, but they appear in Mail on iCoud.com, sign out of your account: Go to Settings>iCloud, tap Sign Out, choose Delete from My iPad and provide your password when prompted (your data will still be in iCloud), then sign back in and check your Mail.

  • How do I get the established email folders on my MacBook to transfer to my iPad?

I only have limited folders on my iPad email accounts.  I would like to add additional folders, but have not been able to determine how to do that.  There are established email folders on my MacBook, but they have not transferred to my iPad through synching.  Can someone help me on this?

If the account is an IMAP account, you can add additional server stored mailboxes with the email client used on your computer for accessing the account, or via webmail access for the account using a browser. All server stored mailboxes with an IMAP will be available automatically when accessing the account with the iPhone's Mail app along with all server stored mailboxes kept synchronized with the server with each email client used to access the account.
None of this is possible with a POP account.

  • Backing up email folders

How do I back up all my BT Yahoo email folders, and their contents, either to my computer or to external storage plugged into Drive E? How do I find out how much storage I need for each folder before I start?
    Thanks
As simply as possibe so I can understand step-by-step.

Are you already using a local email client (such as Thunderbird, Outlook Express, Windows Mail, Opera)?
If so they will already have a local directory containing everything, which you can look in to see how large it is.
But from what you say, it sounds as if you are doing all your mail using the web mail client in your browser?
If not, I think the only way is to set up such a client.  That would be best done using IMAP, which will just replicate all your Yahoo email data onto local storage, and should keep the folder structure.    It isn't very hard to set up but not easy to give step-by-step instructions.  I'm sure there are some around on the internet somewhere but can't see them (can someone else help here?).  If you don't get a more direct response after a bit I'll try.....
I don't know the BT Yahoo mail well enough to know if there is an easy way to find out the approximate storage you willl need.  Mine with my wife's is nearly 3Gb total, but that includes mail going back more than 10 years, with lots of messages containing photos and other large attachments.  Most people's email would probably take up much less space, but ...???

  • Will I lose my email folders and contacts addresse...

Will I lose my email folders and contacts addresses ???
Just this week changed from Talk Talk /toucansurf to a BT broadband and phone service.
I can access my emails ie receive and send from my new BT yahoo account and have good connection to the internet
    BUT
Before I totally cancel my  Talk Talk account I need to know whether the
    1)existing emails in my inbox
    2) the emails that are stored in folders I have created
    3) and my contacts address book
will disappear when I make the full switch ????
    Thanks
Sorry, think I posted this in another area too as was unsure)
(once this question is answered I need to ask another but this one is more important - cheers)
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

You should be able to export your contacts to a file, then import them to your BT account. As for folders, if they are stored within the Windows Live program, they you should be able to save the contents.
If they are stored on a remote server, and you access them by webmail, then you may lose them unless you use an IMAP account to duplicate the folders on your computer, where you can save the contents.
Really this is an issue you need to ask about here http://www.talktalkmembers.com/forums/
as they are more likely to know how their email servers work.
There are some useful help pages here, for BT Broadband customers only, on my personal website.
