Dell 1750 Windows 7 Will Not Load Past Splash Screen.

I have a dell 1750 laptop that I just replaced the hard drive with a new exact same hard drive that was in there I went to reinstall windows from the recovery disk and it never gets past the 7 logo I never even get to the option of installing the OS. I
tried a Vista Disk does the same thing. I tried an XP disk and does the same thing. I did a bios update and put the hard drive in compatibility mode same issue on all 3 Operating Systems. I ran the dell diagnostic that come with the computer and everything
tests fine. I tried to load all 3 OS off a jump drive and same issue. I ran hardware diagnostics off the Ultimate Boot Disk all hardware comes back fine. Can someone please help me with this? Thanks.

Hi,
For your situation, I would like to confirm the following questions:
In my understanding, you replace the hard drive, so you must perform the clean install, right?
Do you have chance to format the disk?
You may need double check if you set the CD boot as the first priority in boot sequence.

  • Satellite A300 will not get past splash screen

    Hi All
got an issue with an A300 laptop about 2-2.5 years old. I have just installed windows 7 prof and it was working fine for about 3 days and then suddenly it stopped booting up.
It gets to the toshiba splash screen and then reboots. it does not even try to boot into windows. you can go into the bios and make changes etc. you cannot press f8 to load into safe mode it does not even get that far.
You can press f12 and get the boot menu up and try to boot from CD but this again does not work and it just reboots again
I'm not sure how else to troubleshoot it. I dont think its a motherboard problem as you can get into the bios.
It could be a HDD problem but then i thought it would have gave you a warning message of some kind ( no boot device available ) and you can see the HDD in bios and would have thought it would have at least booted to CD.
The only things i can think of are RAM problem HDD problem or Motherboard problem.
I think installing win 7 3days ago is just a huge coincidence?
Any help would be great. Thanks

    Hi hitenkacha,
    > tired to boot from a windows 7 disk and this does not work
In this case it seems to be a hardware malfunction because a Microsoft Windows disk should also work properly.
    > i can try and flash the bios but im not sure how i can do that
This is only possible on Windows because its a Windows based update. Furthermore BIOS update will not help you if the hardware is defective.
    > is my theory correct that if you can get into the bios then thats a sign that the Motherboard is ok?
Thats hard to say because for going into BIOS you dont need much performance.
I would recommend contacting an authorized service provider and let the guys check the hardware of your computer. Theoretically it could be everything so a professional diagnostic is recommendable in this case.
    Good luck! :)

  • My Macbook will not load past grey screen with progress bar?

When I start up my computer the grey screen with the Apple and spinning wheel appear, then underneath a progress bar. once the progress bar is full it shuts down? Help!

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities
That bar appears when OS X checks your hard drive, and it's not a good sign that your Mac turns off, because the hard drive is damaged.
Unfortunately, the only thing you can do is to take the Mac to an Apple Store or AASP to get the hard drive repaired. If you didn't make a backup, try DiskWarrior to recover data, and buy an external disk to make backups. All hard drives fail, but we don't know when they are going to fail

  • Windows XP, will not load past blue error screen

Hi, been wondering for a while if anyone can help me...
My xp system will not load past the blue error screen which appears after the computer has shut down suddenly or improperly.
Regardless of what actions you choose to take (safe mode, most recent settings...etc) the system simply goes past the blue screen, onto the windows logo loading page, where the loading bar moves for around 10 seconds, before returning back to the blue loading page.
So far I have tried leaving the computer for as long as a month unused whilst I was abroad, removing the battery for various amounts of time, and leaving the computer running for as long as a day.
In the absence of a recovery disk, I have no idea how to get it back to form, and would welcome any hints or suggests, bearing in mind I am no computing genius (If you had'nt guessed). Preferably, without loosing my irreplacable pictures and videos stored on the hard drive, however that is only preferably,
    Thanks, Jay

    Hi Jay,
i know what it's like to not able to boot even into safe mode command prompt.
In your case I would do either of below:
Download a bootable CD ISO called "HDD Regenerator" or [Hiren's BootCD|www.hiren.info/pages/bootcd] which includes many other great tools. Burn the ISO image onto CDR.
    1. Use the HDD Regenerator to boot the PC and use it to scan the whole HardDrive from 0, it will scan and fix all the bad sectors which may cause Windows failing to boot as systems files are corrupted. You will be suprise how great this tool can fix bad sector HDs.
    2. If above does not work, the the Hiren's BootCD to boot the PC, navigate to Symantec Norton Ghost or Acronis True Image to Clone you hard drive, you can use USB external harddrives.
Then you can rebuild the PC with second partition large enough to store the HardDisk-IMAGE, use Ghost Explorer/etc to restore your personal files.
I have been dealing with lots of this issues as well. Let me know if you need more help.
    Good luck!

  • Satellite L500 will not load past the 'welcome' screen

    Hi,
My Toshiba Satellite L500 laptop will not load past the 'welcome' screen. The cursor thing just keeps going around and around but won't go to my desktop.
Last night it went into some temporary profile and it had a message saying 'your other profile cannot load at this time please try again later'
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Kara

The error message is not known to me and also searching in google didnt get any hints.
Possibly your Windows OS is muddled up.
Did you try to boot Win 7 in safe mode?
Try this. Restart your notebook, tap the F8 key.
In advanced boot options choose the option called Safe Mode.
If the notebook does not allow booting in Safe Mode, try the option Last Good Known Configuration.
If this didnt help, try Repair my Computer. Here you can choose between different settings.
The one which could solve this is HDD recovery which helps you to set the notebook to factory settings. But this means also that your HDD would be formatted!
    So be aware of this!

my phone will not load past the apple icon when trying to turn on. all it has on the screan is apple icon and a blank status bar. whats wrong? and what can i do?

Hi, Just put phone in the recovery mode and restore to the factory settings. It should work.

  • Windows will not load on a Satellite A350 with 500GB Seagate external HDD

There is an issue with this A350-043 Laptop running Windows Vista Home Premium 64Bits, part number : PSAL6C-04S015
Simply put: when connected to a SEAGATE 9NK2AL-510 500GB SATA DRIVE EXTERNAL USB (s/n: 5QG1YH1E) Windows will not load, it goes upto and freeze just prior to the green moving bars. If the USB cord is pulled out and put back in for a second, Windows continues to load normally and all is well.
Otherwise, the OS will take up to 15 minutes to load. Looking in the BIOS features, there is no option to boot from USB available, so it cannot be disabled. I have upgraded the BIOS of the Toshiba to the latest version with no change in that issue.
I have tested and confirmed that the issue persist no matter which USB port is used.
The external drive is fully fonctional and there is no errors or issues with it when Windows is loaded. I am reported this issue to Seagate as well as Toshiba in the hopes that a solution can be offered on that, but did not hear back on anything as yet.

You mean the notebook needs 15min to load the Windows OS even if the external HDD is not connected?
This sounds weird and I doubt this can be related to any software issue
First of all you should check the booting order in the BIOS the USB should be set at last or second last position.
Secondly you should check if the same issue would still persist after an new OS installation in some cases the booting procedure could be affected due to installed software and background processes.
But if the new OS installation does not help and if the issue will still persists then I assume that an hardware problem (motherboard????) could be the reason for that and therefore an notebook technician should be contacted!!!
    Thats my opinion

  • My MacBook pro will not load past the grey screen with the spinning wheel. What do I do?

My MacBook will not load past the grey screen with the spinning wheel of death. Anyone have any solutions?

Invoke Safe Mode by holding down the shift Key as you restart. This will do a Disk Utility "Repair Disk" as it starts up (so it takes a few minutes longer) and then load with minimal extensions loaded, and request your login username and password, even if you normally do not use them to log in.
Safe Mode runs the screen using simple, unaccelerated commands. Most things are available in Safe Mode, but things that rely on extensions will not be.
Acomputer that works in Safe Mode, but fails again after you restart, often implicates your extensions and add-ons.

  • Intel iMac will not boot past gray screen

Intel iMac will not boot past gray screen
    my system:
new (month old) 24" intel imac, 2.8 ghz, 4 gb ram.
running: leopard (upgraded from tiger, which was pre-installed at purchase), installed 10.5.1 update right before this huge problem occurred.
install discs on-hand: two-disc tiget set, single leopard upgrade disc.
    what led to this:
i wanted to install windows using bootcamp on a 50 gb partition.
at this point i was running leopard 10.5
i followed all bootcamp instructions, printing out the guide, as well. once i got into the windows setup, i was prompted to choose a partition to install windows. unlike the bootcamp guide, which showed three partitions, one clearly labeled "bootcamp", i saw only one partition. not wanting to risk writing over my mac partition, i quit the setup and rebooted the mac os. after some googling around, i looked for firmware updates (didn't need any), and then software updates. i decided to try updating to 10.5.1.
i then ran through boot camp again, deleting my previous windows partition, creating a new one, and moving forward as before. once again, i was only shown one partition to choose from in the windows setup. i exited the setup again to reboot through the mac os, but this time, i was only given a blank gray screen.
here's what i have tried so far:
booting from a CD, holding down the C or D keys: no response (in fact, i have to restart the computer holding down the mouse button to be able to eject the CD)
booting with option key held down: gray screen
booting with option key held down with external bootable firewire drive attached: the firewire drive appears as a boot icon, and i can click on it within a five second window, but then the screen freezes after that time period, and nothing changes
booting into target mode while attached to another mac: gray screen (no firewire icon, and drive never shows up on other mac)
resetting NVRAM: i'm able to hear the boot chimes, but no difference in performance. gray screen every time
Safe boot: nothing but a gray screen
    Verbose mode: gray screen
    Single user mode: gray screen
Single user mode with firewire drive attached: occasionally (not every time), i am able to get the white on black terminal to show up. from here, i'm able to run fsck, but it appears to only be checking the firewire drive. i have tried several times to boot from here, and once it took me to a blue screen with movable arrow cursor, but it never went beyond this.
is there anything else left to try before taking it to apple?
any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'd call Apple support at this point. You'll need
to put this issue on the record.
Call U.S. iPod and Mac technical support: 1-800-APL-CARE (1-800-275-2273)
The wait may be long for an agent to come on the line
so expect that and have some other stuff to do in the meantime.
If you have the applecare protection plan, I'd ask about "onsite"
    service.
I like your work ! Good luck !

Will not load Vista desktop screen. Will load to internet, works well otherwise.

It is possible that explorer.exe is not running at start up.
Go to this site and try to troubleshoot and restart it:

If unable to fix then you will have to factory restore your system.

  • After Effects CS6 will no longer load past Splash Screen

Recently been using AE CS6 more frequently. Used it today for about 3-4 hours. Restarted my computer when it started to get slow to free up space from temp/cache files. Now AE does not load past the splash screen when I want to open it. Pauses for a while, then either I get a generic "program has stopped working/responding", or occasionally something else. I have allocated 26 mb of my RAM to Adobe use (only After Effects was open). Media cache files are set to 50 Gb. The program is installed on my 120 Gb SSD, which is out of space. However, all the reference files and media caches are set to go to my HDD, which has 1.5 TerraB's available. Photoshop opens fine and run fines still.
When attempting to open, Sometimes it mentions that the Dynamic Link had an error or was the last thing that was trying to load. Have restarted computer, no change. Please Help, have two projects going that need to be done very soon.
Running Windows 7 Ultimate, AE CS6 through the Master Suite. 32 Gb Ram, Intel i7 processor, EVGA GTX570 Graphic Card. There havent been any updates for anything in a few weeks that I'm aware of.
Really don't want to go through a re-installation...It was working just fine for months, then this.

Manually flushed, reinstalled graphics driver (was a slight update, a few sub sections), and all other drivers in DMan are good to go. Also uninstalled Quicktime and did a fresh install of that too. Still no good. The exact error message is this:
After Effects error: Crash in progress. Last logged message was <6032>
    <DynamicLink><5> C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\dynamiclink\CS6\dynamiclinkmanager.exe
Also, checked firewall settings - nothing shows up as blocked, although I could be not looking at it right. Running McAfee OAS.

  • My Macbook Pro will not load past grey Apple screen...

Last night my Macbook Pro froze so I closed it and went to bed. Today when I opened it, it was still frozen, so I held down the power button and rebooted it. It got as far as the grey Apple screen with the spinning wheel and will not load any further than that. I've rebooted a couple times since and it continues to do the same thing, stays on the grey screen forever.
I searched this problem on the Apple Support Communitites and none of suggestions (holding Shift after the startup tone, holding Command+R) have worked so far. Is there any way to fix this problem without losing my data or having to pay to talk to Apple Support? PLEASE HELP! :(

Then we can't help you as we need you to be able to help yourself and the instructions are complicated and long to paste here over and over again for the same proceedure.
Hire the services of a local Mac computer repair before you delete your data by accident.
You can jump down and do #8, that might clear the issue right away, but some programs are not going to work and require updating or reinstalling again.

i have a hp pavilion p6-2112b that has stopped fully loadind windows. i get the hp hand then a bar that tells me its loading files(that never happened before today) to the starting windows screen. after all that i go to a "sunray" screen that quickly flashes two bios windows and then nothing. no menu, no icons, nada. right now i have managed to get it to run a "startup repair" but it seems to be taking to long. it says this may take several minutes but its been hanging in an Attempting repairs state for about an hour and a half. any suggestions? could use some help

    Hello Beth6871,
Your computer will not load windows.
    Do a hard reset.
    Turn the computer off.
Remove the power cable and the battery.
Hold down the power button for 15 sec while booth power sources are removed.
This should reset the hardware in the computer.
As you power it back on tap the F2 key. This will load hardware diagnostics.
    Run the startup test.
This will test all the hardware in the system and detect any problems.
Let me know how everything goes
    Have a good day.
