Dell 3130CN not printing on clear water slide decal

I have recently purchased some A4 laser clear water slide decals and they print fine on my old HP Laserjet 1000 but will not print on my Dell 3130CN. On my Dell the ink just brushes off and some gets left in the machine and ends up on the next piece of paper that goes through.
I have selected the standard tray, MPF, standard paper, coated paper, thick paper - all with the same result and all at a cost of about £1 per sheet. i am not happy.
Does anyone know what settings I need to use to make it work?
Incidentally, I've also noticed that the ink flakes off when printing on very smooth 220gsm card as well using the MPF tray.

You print needs to be in the list of supported AirPrinters.  I do not see the Dell 3130cn.

  • Payment Notice not print if Clearing Doc post another outstanding item and

    hi Guru,
      anyone know any solution in
Payment Notice not print while Clearing Doc(payment) clear against a invoice
but the clearing doc is a partial payment only, thus using same clearing doc to post a outstanding line item
and we use another clearing Doc to clear against this clearing Doc (outstanding one).
After that no payment notice can generated.
but if Reset & Reverse the clearing doc (clearing doc to clear against org clearing Doc),  the document can be generated.
(P.S. currently using prog: RFKORD00 to generate Payment notice)

  • Dell 3130cn Poor Printing Quality

The print quality on my Dell 3130cn  has recently gone downhill.  It's missing print and the print that does make it to the paper is very light.  I've changed out the toner cartridges but that didn't and honestly, I didn't expect it to help.  Does this mean it's time for a new fuser?

Horizontal lines? Make sure you have the right print settings and paper settings on your printer.
That sounds a LOT like you have the paper type set to plain paper, or have it set to draft mode, or something.

  • Hp photosmart all-in-one c 7280 will not print since clearing paper jam

Had my first paper jam in 2 1/2 years - cleared out the paper but now when trying to print documents they just back up and a check-mark appears by the default printer beside the word "error".   I right click on the printer icon; cancel the backed up documents and the word beside the check-mark changes to "Off-line".   I set the printer to On-line and the word beside the check-mark changes to  "Ready".
I then send another document for printing with the above scenario repeating itself.
I can make copies so am pretty sure the paper jam is cleared.  There's just no response to the Print command.
Will appreciate any help - john t

Running the diagnostics at http://www.hp.com/go/tools may help resolve the issue, specifically the Print Diagnostic Utility.
It may also help to reset the printer as described here.

  • MX922 could not print color even after clean/deep clean many times

My MX922 did print about 600 color pages and could not print very clear. Then I did a few time of clean/deep clean from maintenance. The test pattern is ok for PGBK. However, there is no color (or a little color once a while). All the colors ink could be detected. Is there anything that I could do now? Or the color printhead is bad? If this is the case, could you I chang that?
    Thanks,
    TJ

    Hi tjs,
Since the cleanings did not improve the print quailty, please perform an automatic and manual print head alignment to see if this will help.  To do this, please follow the steps located at the link below:
    Print Head Alignment
If you still experience difficulty after performing the alignments, the printer may require servicing; please call or email us at one of the methods on the Contact Us page to obtain your servicing options.

  • Having trouble printing to a DELL 3130cn color laser printer

I have problem printing to a DELL 3130cn in a LAN since upgrading to OSX 10.7. Apple and Dell can't help and no driver upgrade expected unless there are enough people with same issue. Can anyone help or have a work around? Sometimes if I wait for 5 minutes or more before I press PRINT button, it magically worked. But not always.

In order to change the driver to a Generic PPD, just open the printer proxy (go to System Preferences > Print & Scan, then double click on your printer.)
In the Printer Proxy window, click Printer Setup, and in that pane, select Driver. Change the driver to a Generic PPD (you should have one available in the drop-down.)

  • Hp officejet pro k550 will not print a test page using control keys on the printer.

How do I print a test page to ensure that this printer is still operational?
I have tried all instructions for clearing the printer of possible jams, removed and reinserted the print heads, and cleaned the rollers.  When pressing the appropriate keys on the front of the printer, it will not print a test page.  and no error lights appear.
The printer has been connected to a different computer and ceased working last summer.  The printer would not respond to commands from the computer nor would it respond to keys on the front of the printer itself.  I can get the printhead to move using the controls on the front of the printer, however.  The printer is not currently connected to any computer and the nearest computer does not have the appropriate drivers installed.  Originally the printer was connected to a Dell desktop running Windows XP (sp 3).

  • My hp printer 7520 is not printing the black ink.

hp 7520: I have an empty photo black in but I have not printed photos. I have replaced the other black (with a pentagon) but the printer still seems to be using the empty photo black(bow tie icon) -  (and i have no black being printed). I have no spare black bow tie ink,and i don't need it anyway. Help

    Hi @southmimms
The black cartridges have their own purpose, the photo black is for printing photos and the Black is for text. The second black cartridge is not there to back up the first one when it becomes deplete. When a cartridge is depleted it needs to be replaced.
    Source
    Since you replaced the black cartridge, and the printer is still not printing black ink, one of the first things that comes to mind is the cartridge vent. Please use the steps below to check and clear the vent area;
Examine the vent area on each cartridge, above the HP logo on the top of the cartridge.
If the vent is clogged, use a straight pin to gently remove excess adhesive from the vent.
    1 - Clogged vent
2 - With a straight pin, gently remove excess adhesive from the vent
    3 - Unclogged vent
If the issue persists, please use the following document to troubleshoot the quality issue you are experiencing. Fixing Ink Streaks, Faded Prints, and Other Common Print Quality Problems.
Finally, if you complete all of the steps in the document above and the issue continues, my own personal recommendation, not one of HPs, is to use the solution offered in the following video.  I only suggest doing this if he printer and printhead are out of warranty.  Hot Water Printhead Flush - HP Ink Series Printers with removable Printhead.
I have recommended this solution to others and have seen success, but I can not guarantee this will resolve the issue, it is an end of the line kind of effort. I hope it helps.
I hope one of my recommendations resolves the issue.
Note: Although you do not use the photo black it is important to replace empty cartridges to protect the printhead from becoming damaged.

  • MG5520 Printing is "Wavy" - Text not printed straight

    Background:
I have a MG5520 printer, which I got towards the end of Spring semester of 2014 for school.  I kept it stored over the summer in a climate controlled environment. I have a MacBook Pro and a 2004 Microsoft Word Document setup. My ink levels are adequate (1/4 full), and I do intend on changing them.
Current Problem:  It is printing all text that goes horizontal in a sort of wavy formation.  I'm not sure if this has to do with the ink levels, but I am positive that I have an adequate supply of ink.
Current Moves Executed to Resolve Issue:  I have performed Maintenance of the machine by "Print[ing] the nozzle check pattern," "Cleaning," "Deep Cleaning," "Auto head alignment," "Print[ing] the head alignment value," "Roller cleaning," and "Bottom plate cleaning."
Result: Currently, all of those moves were in vain, and the problem persists.
What I need: Guidance and Assistance with how to resolve this issue.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Hi FastTuhNap,
Based on your description of the issue, the Encoder Film inside the printer may be smeared.  Please follow the procedures below to check the film condition, and clean it when necessary:
     1.  Press the power button to turn your PIXMA MG5520 off.
     2.  Unplug the power cord from the printer.  Be sure to turn off the printer power and unplug the power cord first.
     3.  Open the Paper Output Cover.
     4.  Check if the Encoder Film inside the printer is clear.  The Encoder Film is the transparent thin film.  Please view this image:
     5.  If the Encoder Film is smeared as shown in the image, it needs to be cleaned.
     6.  Place a few drops of neutral detergent (2 to 3 drops of neutral detergent in 1/4 cup of tap water) on a cotton swab with water. CAUTION: Do not use any other detergents.
     7.  Moisten a cotton swab with the prepared cleaning water. Eliminate extra water so that no water drops.
     8.  Using the moistened cotton swab, wipe the Encoder Film.  CAUTION: Be cautious so that no water drops inside the printer.
CAUTION:  Do not contact the rail. If the rail is contacted, the print quality may be deteriorated. The Encoder Film is fixed to the printer with the springs at the ends. If the film is pushed too strong, it may be dislocated. Do not push the film. Just gently move the cotton swab over the surface of the film.
Also, please keep your hands off the printer and clean the film with the tip of the cotton swab.  Change the cotton swab to new ones frequently.
     9.  Eliminate any stains or smearing from the film until the entire film becomes transparent and clear.
    10.  If the trail of detergent is left on the film, clean it using a cotton swab that is moistened with just water.  If moisture is left on the film, eliminate it using a dry cotton swab, and wait until the film dries well.
    11.  Close the Paper Output Cover, and plug in the power cord of the printer.
    12.  Press the power button to turn your PIXMA MG5520 on.
    13.  Please print a test page.
    14.  If the problem persists, check and clean the Encoder Film again.
If the print quality is still not improved even after repeated cleaning of the Encoder Film, it is recommended that you contact live technical support . There is NO charge for this call. Real time feedback of a live technical support call would be very beneficial in this case.
Please dial 1-866-261-9362, Monday - Friday 10:00 a.m. - 10:00 p.m. ET (excluding holidays). A Canon technical support representative will be able to resolve this issue faster.

  • Watermark not printing

    Hello,
We recently migrated from Windows XP 32bit to Windows 7 64 bit Enterprise and now Adobe Reader does not print watermarks set on a printer i the printing preferences. The watermark prints from other software, like word but not Adobe Reader. Is there a setting in Adobe Reader that we a re missing?
We are using Adobe Reader version 11.0.2  and have updated one to version 11.0.10 but the watermark still does not print

The water marks is set in printing preferences on the printer and should appear on all documents that the user prints. But it does not work in Adobe Reader. The printer is Konica Bizhub 36, but it does not work on Lexmark x363dn either. We haven't tested it on any other printers.
Here is where we set the watermark (the printer's printing preferences). It prints from everywhere (word, Nitro PDF) except Adobe Reader. If I was't clear before - the text prints, only the watermark is missing.

  • Captivate 8 print widget does not print in landscape; prints full resolution of project and not just the certificate?

I am new to Captivate and am tasked with learning how to use Captivate 8.  I need to add a certificate of completion to the end of my project and have many questions for which I cannot find any answers! Please, if anyone can answer these:
    1) I do not want the certificate to be printed until the score of the quiz reaches a specific minimum - for example, you need a score of 80% or better to print a certificate.  How do I do this with the print widget?
    2) I want the certificate to print out without the slide background and without the project's resolution - in other words, I only want the certificate image (with added text box for name) to print, IN LANDSCAPE, without the user having to make all the adjustments on their end (choosing landscape over portrait with their printer).  How is this accomplised?
    3) I want a date entered on the certificate - how do I add this specific element?
Without a certificate widget and the use of Flash with this version, I am confused as to how exactly Captivate provides the ability to print certificates?  I do not know HTML5, and am spotty with Javascript.  Why would a feature such as certificates and the ability to print them be such a clandestine thing?  No tutorials, no clear advice on how exactly to achieve this widely popular feature of training material development.  Seems to me that it should be MUCH easier to accomplish, but I'm stumped at this point.

The solution I found is this:
Don't use the print widget in Captivate 8. It simply does not work the way it should be able to work.  Unless you are capable of scripting in Actionscript 2.0 and have access to an older version of Captivate, there is no way to get around this bug.
The problem I discovered is that Captivate 8 will only allow you to use Actionscript 3.0 in Flash; you can open the widget in Flash, but you MUST open it through Captivate first if you intend to use it in Captivate.  So, once you open the widget for adjustments through Captivate, it automatically chooses AS 3.0 as the scripting language to use, no other choice is available.  IF you have Captivate 7 or lower, however, it allows you to script in AS 2.0.  I do not, so I cannot assist you in scripting the widget.
What I ended up doing was, I made my own certifcate in Photoshop, saved it as a .PNG, and added it to the last page. Using the internal coding of Captivate I told the program to only go to that slide upon success of the quiz.
To Print:  go to Window > Skin Editor.  On the left are check boxes for playbar choices - check off 'Show Playback Control,' and then choose your theme. From the dropdown, choose "print."  If you don't want anything else on the playbar, then check those items off; Choose where you want the playbar to show (I chose bottom and bottom center). See below:
You can see the icons on the bottom, in the center.  The icon to the left is the Print button.  This works well, though you may have to make print choices from your local print dialog.  I have to tell it to print landscape, for instance, otherwise it prints portait and too small.  But this does work, and it solves the issue of non-working print widgets.

  • Officejet Pro 8600 - Macbook Pro and Macbook Air will not print

    Products:
    HP Officejet Pro 8600
Macbook Pro (Mac OS X, Version 10.7.5)
Macbook Air (OS X, Version 10.8.2)
    Question:
Why did my Macs initially print fine, but now will not print at all?
    Full Story:
I have a wireless network at my house that consisted of a 30mb cable internet, Netgear 900n, HP Officejet Pro 8600, 2 Dell Laptops with Windows 7, a Lenovo Laptop with Windows 7, and Dell Tower with Windows 7 - All printed just fine.
The HP Officejet 8600 was added to my network about 2 months ago.
I added a Macbook Pro and a Macbook Air about 3 weeks ago.  Both Macs printed just fine for about a week.  Then suddenly they stopped.  I spent about 2 hours on the phone with HP Service, and they finally said it must be my router.  So I called Netgear.  Netgear was useless!  They wanted me to agree to charges for services before they would even discuss the issue.
Due to information provided by HP's service support, and because Netgear will not support their product, I promptly purchased a new router - an Apple Airport Extreme.
The Macs recognize the printer, will print if hardwired via a USB cable, but will not print wirelessly to the Officejet Pro 8600.  The PCs print fine.
The frustration that is being felt is compound by the fact that the Macs printed just fine with the Officejet Pro 8600 2 weeks ago, and now the printer just shows "idle"... even with a new router. (see image below)
Please help, I appreciate any support.
As a side note, the HP Service rep was very friendly, and definitely tried to support the HP Product, which is much more than I can say about Netgear.
    Thank you,
    This question was solved.

    Hi,
More likely the issue related with Multicast, which Apple devices relies on to communicate with teh device through the network.
First try unplugging the router for 30 seconds.
Plug it back to the power and wait for 2-3 minutes.
Turn the HP printer Off and back On, then check for any difference.
If the same persists, try changing your router configuration as following
Note: the settings below are not related with the HP product, I provide you the steps as a best effor and those are only based on my own knowledge. you may try modifying the router settings at your own risk:
Open the router configuration page (can be found listed as the Default Gateway by clicking the Wireless icon on the printer, then print a network configuration report.
    Click the Advanced tab.
Click the Setup option from the menu, then click on WAN Setup.
Make sure to uncheck the box next to Disable IGMP Proxying and Apply the changes.
Click the LAN Setup on the same Setup menu.
Set the RIP Version as RIP-2 and Apply the changes.
Reboot your router and then check for any change.
I hope you may find that information useful, you may also use the user guide below for further information:

  • My wireless HP Deskjet 3050 printer will not print from web sites.

My HP Deskjet 3050 J610 printer will not print from web sites - it prints ok from WORD, etc. I keep getting the error message: "An unknown error occurred while printing." This problem only arises with Firefox browser.
The printer is connected wirelessly to a network and this occurs when I use a laptop on the network. It is also connected via cable to a desktop computer but there is no problem in printing from the desktop.
    Any assistance would be appreciated.

That sounds as if you need to investigate to see if you were able to clear all of the paper that was causing the jam.
