DELL 948 to Mac Book Pro Leopard

My brand new printer DELL 948 does not print with Mac Book Pro.
Is there anyone who can give me a hint?
With MS XP on a PC it is working.

TX greg, but if I look into these instructions I get the impression, that the scan function and the printer monitor functions will hardly work. I am not a computer freak and do not like tho adjust endless. Do you think, I will get the fully functionality after applying your very helpful guideline.

I got a DELL u2410 with my mac book pro and the reader or the USB port is not working. How come the laptop doesnt detect this even if the screen works?

Not seen the 2410 - but previous USB devices in the screens required a standard A-B usb cable from the computer to the screen - look for the squarish USB socket on the monitor somewhere, probably tucked up under the lip where all the connectors push in vertically upwards (on previous Dell WS screens)

Safari hangs: not enough program memory, while 90G HD and 4G ram, OS re-installed, removed files etc. (mac book pro, leopard)

Safari hangs direct after starting up. Rainbow bol rotates around one hour after which a message is shown: "not enough program memory"
More than 90G free on HD, even removed more files and installed OS and programs again. Nothing helps.

SIG, thanks for your reaction. After reading my question again I understand it was not clear.
The reason I mentioned the 90G free HD space was the information I found on internet about my problem in which it was assumed there was not enough RAM memory and the processor uses the HD for SWAP files?
In any way my problem is still there and I like to add some information:
MACBookPro OSX 10.6.7, 2.4 GHz duo, 4GB DDR3 RAM, L2 cache 3MB, 250 GB HD (90 GB free).
What I have done untill now:
Re-install OSX plus programs
Reboot in safe mode (cold start with shift C pressed)
A number of reports generated after a forced Safari stop were send to Apple. (by the way what are they doing with these? besides not helping me?).
Just today I learned where to find the Safari cache file's which I will empty when I am back from work tonight.
I hope, with this additional information you have some more suggestions. In any way I will come back with the result of emptying the Safari cache.

Mac book pro is stuck on installing snow leopard. won't work.

i recently was mucking around with my mac book pro and soon found my self stcuk with the installation of the 'snow leopard mac OS X' no matter what i did it just wouldn't go away, all i wanted was for my laptop to just go back to normal and get back to what i had been doing only a few hours ago but nope nothing, not even the snow leopard would download to finish things off. so i contacted apple support whom we spent about an hour chatting with. that was basically hopeless, they were very nice but they just didn't know what they were doing, and best of all they wanted to charge me. so at the very ending when they told me that my hard drive was fried and there was absolutely nothing i could do but to get it taken to an apple store and pay for them to replace my hard drive i asked them if i should do the online repair thing, and he told me no i shouldn't its just a waste of time and it won't work. so i neglected him told him a thank you and guess what, i got it to work. now my laptop is good as new and i didn't need to pay to get the hard drive replaced. lol. ok so for the people who are facing this oh my gosh its such a headache but we can do thins. so write these steps down and i promise they will work and you don't need to pay to get your perfectly fine hard drive replaced. ok so shut down your laptop completely. then when its completely off. hold don't the command button and R hold them both down and then at the same time press the on button keep holding them, you can take your finger off the on button but keep the others on the command and R until a white screen appears it will ask for wifi and then it will reset everything for you like when you first got your laptop. just follow through the instructions they give you and all is well. i hope this was help full for you if this happens.! (btw i can't remember if it was command and R or the option, alt button and R but just try the command one first and if that doesn't work then the other one)

10.5.8 is Leopard, not Snow Leopard. You need the Snow Leopard DVD;

Lion on the old drive that I had purchased last year but no boot disc made. I have made several attempts to get the Mt lion soft ware on the computer but the Apple store does not have it only mavericks but my Snow Leopard version is too old for it so I cant get it either. Backup, backup, backup
As a minimum, use 3-2-1 (or even more)
3 copies of your data (original copy counts as 1)
2 different backup utilities/storage formats (protects from bugs in the software)
1 copy off-site (protects against theft, fire, and natural disaster)
More backup copies are even better.
Backup disks are cheap compared to the lost of personal data that does not exist anywhere else.

I am have a grey screen problem and nothing has fixed it yet, so I was told to reinstall in from another computer because when I tried to load from disk to mac pro the mac pro would start to load, but then stop at the same place.

Once you get it to work, be sure to download and apply the lastest SL COMBO updater. for 10.6.8 (or any later version). This will ensure that the latest drivers & such for that newer hardware gets installed and the resulting OS can run optimally.

I will be purchasing PhotoShop CS6 & installing on my Mac Book Pro. Adobe tells me that I should upgrade to Mountain Lion from Snow Leopard in order for it to work best. Any thoughts on this? Thank you, Paul

You can use it on Snow Leopard without any problem. However, Apple updates graphic drivers and more things, so it could run better on Mountain Lion, but as I said, if you don't want to upgrade, keep on Snow Leopard because it will run properly.
Probably, Adobe is referring to the fact that Photoshop could be working in 32-bit because the kernel on Snow Leopard starts into 32-bit by default, and Mountain Lion is a 64-bit operating system. In this case, you will see an improvement

Yes, there's been no updates to 10.5.8 for quite awhile, next is paid Upgrades.

If you have the exact same problem - take the computer to an Apple store or an AASP. Whichever is more convenient for you. If you have AppleCare call them!
