Dell e1705 keeps disconnecting off of home network when it is available

is it the dell...it worked fine since i bought it until today...so when i go connecting the network is there.
plus i have the network selector provided by windows and the dell one...so i dont know which one the problem is.
so sometimes i have to register the laptop to the router...i use a wrt54gs
please help guys im so annoyed by this

You can disable the utility that came with dell and try to use windows utility.
And you can't run 2 "connectors" at one time. Make sure that one of them is disabled.
Many thanks,

Yes you can use home sharing with just a local network. Obviously you won't have access to all the other content.

  • Why does my ipod touch 4gen keeps going back to home page when browsing on the apps store

Why does my Ipod touch 4 generation keeps going back to home page when browsing in the apps store.
I called apple 5 times today and asked me to restore it 3x the problem still exists. This problem starts to occur yesterday after upgrading to IOS6.
Apple customer service is not good enough as they cannot fixed the problem or tell me that I can change the unit as I just bought this 2 months ago.

Because there is a bug in iOS 6 that effects the 4G iPod touch.

  • Airport wont connect on my home network when its password protected but..

Airport wont connect to my home network when its password protected. It will connect to my network if i go into my linksys router and set the network to "not password protected". If i put on the security and choose a pass phrase it always says connection failed when i try to connect to the network. anyone got any suggestions on what to try ?
ps and yes i am putting in the password right

    Hi Nickerjones
When you enter your password for the Linksys router, is it generating a separate code phrase? By this, I mean if you enter "password", the Linksys converts this to a code that might look something like "ju457re76en7pq" for example. The code is generated based on an algorithm that Linksys uses for their products and should be visible in the set up page. Sorry, I haven't used Linksys for several years so I can't remember all the details.
Other manufacturers use different algorithms for their products, so if you entered "password" on an Apple product, it would likely convert the phrase to a different code, which the Linksys would not recognize. If you can locate the actual code that the Linksys generates when you enter your password and use that same exact code when you enter the password for your wireless on Airport, you may have your problem solved.

  • How to access TC from a Windows 7 PC off my home network?

Can someone please tell me how to gain access to my personal home networked TC from my work provided Win 7 PC? I do not take my Mac into the office so can I get to crucial data stored on my TC from work? FTP client perhaps? Map a drive via IP address? IP address in IE?
    Any help would be appreciated!
    Thanks!
    JM

Possibly. You'd need to see if your printer has any programs you can put on that attached computer to allow it to be a print server.
I'd start with your printer manufacturer first. See if they offer anything. for your model. If not, then you can look for any printer apps or programs.

  • HT201401 Why does my iPhone 3G keep turning off by itself even when it's not dead?

My dad had his iPhone 3G and gave it to me when he had an upgrade. He never had the issue of it turning off by itself, but when he gave it to me, all of a sudden it decided to turn off by itself even when it was on like 80% still.
I took it in to the Apple Store near me and they said that I had too much "stuff" on it, mostly music.
So, I completely redid my phone. I reset it completely so that it looked like a completely new iPhone. And then downloaded only 12 apps and 195 songs. And, only about 50 pictures. (This is an 8 gig by the way)
Right now, there's less than 4 gigs on there so far meaning I still have more than half of my phone to fill. They guy at the store said it needs 2 gigs to run.
SO, it should have started working since theres way less stuff on there now, and more than enough space to run. Why does it keep turning off still though?
It's so annoying and inconvenient. If anyone could help it would be SO appreciated.
    THANKS!!

Basics from the manual are restart, reset, restore from backup, restore as a new device.  Go through each step in succession until your issue is resolved.

  • IMessage slows entire home network when sending images?

Does anyone have a CLUE why a picture sent through iMessage when on WiFi would slow down my internet connection accross my whole home network? For example run a ping test and I get normal 25ms pings to google.com > send picture on iPhone on WiFi > ping jumps to 300+... AGAIN THIS IS A PICTURE NOT A HUGE VIDEO.........
Sidenote: before you say its my router, this issue was present on my old router. I will take a look at any suggestions but highly doubt that its a router issue.
    Phone: iPhone 5 White
    Carrier: AT&T
    ISP: Wide Open West
    Bandwith: 15mbs down | 1mbs up

That's pretty common in the US. It's the ISP's being cheap, basically. They assume that home users have no need to upload large quantities of data, just download. And 90+% of the time, that's true. Unfortunately, it's easy to overwhelm a 1 Mbps uplink. If it only lasts a few seconds, it's not a big deal.
It doesn't matter how large the files are. The only thing that matters is whether you saturate the connection. Things like facetime are self limiting. They only generate data so fast. File uploads, on the other hand, will cram as much as they can fit up the pipe.

  • IPhone's Wi-Fi Keeps Disconnecting Since Securing My Network

All my iPhone's have been on my home Wi-Fi for four years with no problem. Now, that I've just added a password onto my network, I keep getting disconnected on the iPhone and have to keep entering the password to reconnect.
Anyone know what this is about?

What make/model router do you have?
Does this router have the latest firmware from the router manufacturer? Check the manufacturer's support web pages.
What type of security are you using? WEP, WPA, WPA2 (WEP is not recommended)
If your router is four years old and has never had a firmware update there may be bugs in its security code or it may just be at the end of its life.

  • Ios 5.0.1 dropping off wap enterprise network when phone goes to sleep

Same issue that is being discussed about dropping off WAP Enterprise when phone sleeps.  Everytime I have to reconnect and I am ok.  It will not remember the connection.  I own the 4G and it worked fine all the time.  However when updating to the 5.0.0 and 5.0.1 the problem exist.  No problem with cisco linksys connection for home use.. Corporate use is an issue.  Don't see how it worked fine before for multiple users and as soon as we updated to 4G s software the problem started.   This is something in the phone connection and recommend a fix or multiple user will switch products !
I have restarted phone, reset phone entirely, reloaded phone, reset network settings and master reset...No luck.  When will a fix be coming.

I did not realize that it had different behavior when plugged in, I just tested and that is the case.  What I find interesting is that it used to stay on wifi all the time before I updated to 7.1.  Also, from what I read when I first got my iphone, was wifi uses less power than mobile data/3G, so that does not make sense to me.  If I have background app updating on it should use wifi when I am home, so it does not use up my data limit. Finally, I have an app from the cable company that gives me caller ID when the home phone rings, and it does not work anymore because the phone reverting to 3G.

  • Continually knocked off home network while cable modem looks normal

I have a cable modem connected to an Airport Extreme base station (circa 2005, so it's the 802.11b/g). Almost every day I get knocked off my home network and the name of the network that shows up is "linksys" for some reason. The cable modem lights continue to flash in their normal sequence. I live in a private house, not an apartment building.
What I then do is follow a protocol that I discovered on this site (I don't remember if it was this forum) a couple of years ago -- I shut down all the computers, unplug the modem and Airport, wait five minutes, and then plug everything back in sequence.
Last night after I got through yelling at my cable company, they ran some tests remotely and suggested that the problem was with the Airport base station. How can I check for the connectivity of that? What in the System Preferences or Airport Setup can I look at? Thanks.

Change the wireless channel on your AirPort Extreme to try to avoid the interference that you are picking up from the Linksys router in your vicinity.
Open AirPort Utility - click Manual Setup
Click the Wireless tab/label located just below the row of icons
    Start with Channel 11
    Update to save your changes
Keep trying different channels working your way down until you find a clear channel, or you run out of channels

  • PC keeps disconnecting from home hub.

Got a very annoying problem, for some reason my computer keeps disconnecting from my home hub. Its got much worse recently and I have no clue what is doing it. Sometimes it can stay disconnected for a couple of hours and when you finally get the connection back it says it cant connect to the Internet. Also my network adaptor cant find my hub but it will find my neighbours even though the hub is just down the stairs from my PC. Signal it good-excellent. There are 2 other computers using the same hub but the are totally unaffected by this.
    Would really appreciate some help.

from your comments I assume you are using wifi
you can try downloading inssider3 (istumbler if MAC) and then run it. This will show the broadcasting networks round about you and their channels including your own. If you then enter your router and change your wireless channel to a free or less congested channel.

  • My printer keeps going off line with my network. have to set everything up every few minutes.

After getting my HP photosmart 5510 all in one printer setup on my wireless network and setup for eprint, 2 problems occurred.  The printer keeps jumping off of the network, and I have to set everything back up again.  Also, even with eprint still completely set up, none of the emails that I send are printing out???
    Please Help

For those who are experiencing ongoing issues with their web services, you can attempt to try the following steps that may help resolve your problems.
1.)    Completely shut down your printer and restart it
2.)    If you have prints that have not printed, log into ePrint Center (or create an account if you do not have one) and then look for your printer status. If printer status is green but you still have pending jobs, delete the pending jobs one at a time (Starting with the oldest first). There may be a print job stuck in the queue that further restricts other jobs from completing.
If option 1 or 2 above still doesn’t work, removing web services and re-adding web services will cause the printer to reattach to the cloud.
Please note that if you attempt option 3, you will get a new eprint email address (and lose your custom one with no ability to get it back) furthermore, you will need to re-add your printer back to your ePC account.
