Dell Inspiron 7000 - Dragon Assistant 3.0 Software Missing?

I purchased a 15.6" Dell Inspiron 7000 Laptop on 1-10-15 and it was supposed to come wiht Dragon Assistant, Voice Recognition Software pre-installed.  It is NOT, however anywhere on this machine.  It is advertised as being on the Laptop - both in the store, and on bestbuy.com.  The following is the Laptop information:
Model: I7547-3020SLV
SKU: 8733845
I do NOT wish to return this system because I have already spent hours setting it up and tranferring files from my old system.  Is there some download or a CD that you can send me?  Thank you!

Hi danbon94,
I’m sorry to hear that your Dell laptop doesn’t have the Dragon Assistant installed as it should have. We entrust the manufacturers to deliver their devices to us with all of the appropriate pre-installed software. I greatly appreciate you sharing this information with me in regards to your Dell laptop, as it is concerning if devices are not arriving with all of the software advertised.
While the easiest way for us to correct this would be to process an exchange in hopes the new laptop would come with the software, I completely understand why you wouldn’t want to do that. In my experience, it can take some time to set up a new computer to your exact specifications and transfer any existing files from a previous computer.  Please know I’m sending you a private message to gather further information in regards to your purchase and to see what options we may have for you. You may check your private messages by logging into the forum and clicking on the envelope icon in the upper right-hand corner of the page.
Best wishes,

  • Dell Inspiron 7000 Windows 8 Dual Monitor Setup

    Dell Inspiron 7000 Windows 8
    DVI and HDMI video outputs.
I want to connect two monitors. The Best Buy rep says use and DVI to VGA cable with splitter. However, I spoke to tech support reps here at work who set up and support computers and they said that may not work and if it does the displays may not extended but be mirrors of each other.. At work I use a higher end dell with the traditional docking station. The Dell Inspiron does not have that option. Using a cable is easier that purchasing what amounts to a usb hub that is called a USB 3.0 dual video docking station.

    Hi,
I have the same issue here... I tried the adapter either for VGA or HDMI, but it still didn't work....Could you please let me know how to fix it? I used Dell before and everything was fine but only for this series... really waste me a lot of time to find an answer to fix it but didn't work....sigh..Thanks

  • HP 3210 printer to Dell Inspiron 7000 series laptop.

Will HP3210 printer effectively connect to the Dell Inspiron 7000 series laptop?
Older model printer works extremely well.  What portals/connections will be neede?
    Thanks!

The Photosmart 3210 can connect either with a USB cable or a network cable.  If you have an available port on your router the network connection may be preferred.
I have a similar setup, the printer is connected to my router with a LAN cable, I access the printer wirelessly from my notebook computer through the router.

  • Dell Inspiron 7000 series dual monitor issue

Today tried to connect Dell Inspiron 7437 to external monitor using HDMI cord; it did not work. I changed setting to external monitor only and now cannot get an image on laptop screen or external monitor when HDMI cord is connected. Tried to restart computer; still goes to blank screen as soon as I plug in HDMI.
    1. How to a return to default setting for laptop display so it's only set to laptop?
    2. Is it possible to connect inspiron 7000 to external monitor with hdmi?
    Thank you

    Hello,
Yes, it is possible to connect the Inspiron 7000 series to an external monitor using an HDMI cable.  Normally you can control how the video is displayed by using the <FN>+<F8> key combination.  Normally your options are LCD only, duplicate display on the LCD & the external monitor, or just display on the external monitor (projector mode).  Try that key combination to see if you can toggle between the available displays.
One thing you also might want to check to see is if that monitor is set to a resolution that your system cannot handle.  Here is a link to the product support pages for the Inspiron 7437, and you will find user manuals on the page that will help explain which resolutions your video card can handle.  You may need to set your monitor back to default settings (see your user manual for that monitor for details) and that should enable your system to send video to it.
Let me know if any of this helps or if you have additional questions.

  • Windows update not working on new Dell Inspiron 7000 (7537)

I currently have Windows 8 on my new dell inspiron (actually refurbished) 7000.  Only things I've done since getting the computer:  I removed McAfee and turned on Windows defender (which also won't update).  Windows update shows about 93 updates
but when I hit install it says it is downloading by never moves past 0%.  I used the auto fix that Microsoft offers for windows update to no avail.  Not sure what to do now.

    Hi,
    I agree with Milos.
I suggest you upload the Windowsupdate.log so that we can help you analyze the issue.
By default, the Windows Update client records all transaction   information to the following log file:
    %windir%\Windowsupdate.log

  • Yoga 2 Pro/i7/8GB/512SSD Dragon Assistant and other (software) issues

    Hi all,
I've been playing with my new Yoga 2 for a week now. I like how light, fast and quiet the machine is. I do however feel the machine is kind of buggy and wanted to see if anyone else was having similar issues. Windows 8.1 makes me feel like an idiot but I'm slowly learning how to customize everything to my liking. On to the issues:
    1. I tried to download the Dragon Assistant installer and the installation didn't work properly. Now I can't find the installer anywhere on my computer to relaunch it. I am able to find it when I'm in control panel/uninstall program but I only have the option to uninstall from the machine, not repair it. Where the heck is the dang installer?!?
    2. I wasn't able to download iTunes, after a few unsuccessful tries I went to an online forum and someone having the same issues posted an alternative link for the download and that seemed to have done the trick.
    3. I have duplicate apps listed under my start pin, like the Lenovo phone compainon is listed under two different sections and it's driving me NUTS!
    4. My screen seems to flicker everyonce in awhile, is this common with other Yoga 2 users?
I guess I'm trying to find out if others have had the same issues as I have, if there are solutions to the issues and if I should ultimately return the machine because it's faulty and try to get another one.
Any help/ advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I am glad to hear this because I have screen flickering too.  I also have a problem with my Dragon not working correctly.
    emeria & Dream2300...
Would you describe the "flickering" as though the panel brightness was stepping up (or down) a number of steps in very small increments? If so, what you may be seeing is the adaptive brightness feature at work. I have disabled it on my Y2P and see no flickering.
If you go into the advanced settings of your power plan, look for the Display settings near the bottom. Expand the tree and check the Adaptive Brightness settings. You may also want to check the Power section under the Intel HD Graphics Control Panel. Check the Display Power Saving Technology item under the On Battery heading. Mine is set to Off.

  • Solaris 8 on dell inspiron 7000 laptop

    Hi gurus...
I need your help to install solaris 8 on my inspiron 7000 laptop.
I'm able to install until it wants to test the X window.
I tried all selection for the screen size and type but still gave me blank screen when I tested.
this notebook use ATI Rage3D LT-Pro which is I now is recognize by solaris since I could run the solaris with external monitor connected with my notebook.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks
    Eric

What happens when you press Fn + whatever key it is to direct output to the external monitor? There could be a chance that the Solaris driver is autmatically trying to direct output to the external port. If so you may be able to override that.

  • Dell Inspiron 15r 5520 FORGOTTEN?!

    Hello,
At some point last year I purchased from a retailer in Romania, this Dell Inspiron 15r 5520 laptop for the not so small price of 3000 lei, local currency, which at today's exchange rate equals $760.
The laptop worked OK-ish and I was pretty happy with it until recently.
You see, I don't use this laptop all the time as I have a workstation at home so I just tend to use it once in a while. I decided to wipe the laptop's memory clean and do a fresh instal of Windows 7 64 bit and all the drivers about 3 weeks ago. Since then, I've been having A LOT OF ISSUES due to the fact that the drivers on this machine ar so old that they don't really work any more with ANY GAME! Mind you, I had not played games on this machine that much before but when I did, I did encounter huge issues with AMD Switchable graphics not working properly and the game ending up running on the blasted Intel HD4000.
Now this is the end of my patience though! I am tired of having to MAKE DO with something I HAVE PAID A LOT OF MONEY FOR just because DELL WON'T BOTHER TO UPDATE THE BLASTED DRIVERS!
I am tired of having issues every tine I try to play a game on this machine, that hardware wise can more than deal with that game. The only game that I am trying to play is EVE Online.
I have tried downloading the latest Intel HD4000 Drivers and AMD Drivers for the AMD 7670M Graphics Card that I have in the machine. I have tried to install them but they didn't work properly because of the way DELL BUILDS AND ISSUES THEIR DRIVERS!
Does DELL HAVE ANY FIX ON THIS? Any indications on how to use the latest drivers without the whole thing crashing? OR DO I JUST THROW THIS OUT THE WINDOW AND GO WITH A MORE SERIOUS MANUFACTURER?
I am serious disappointed with DELLs services and drivers so far.
    Please assist.
    Thank you!

First, you do not have a system with a dedicated video card.  You have a hybrid AMD-Intel MUX-less system - software controlled hybrid video.
The AMD GPU is simply a co-processor - only the Intel GPU has a physical connection to the display panel, so ALL video data, even if it is processed through the AMD GPU, passes through the Intel GPU on its way to the screen.  The Intel GPU will always show active, and primary in the system.
Does the Catalyst Control Panel allow the selection of the AMD GPU?  If it does, the system is working properly (though note that Windows will still see the Intel GPU as primary, as will most diagnostic test  utilities).  Second thing:  not all games support hybrid video, and even among those that do, there are often settings that need to be changed.
Finally, you must temper your expectations of the video chip in the system - it is not a gaming GPU or system of any caliber.  It's now about 3-4 years old, and the GPU wasn't cutting edge even when it was new.  It's a low- to mid-range system with a low- to mid-range GPU for its time.
As for drives, you can source them from Intel and AMD (but note that updating one demands you update the other, as they must work in tandem).  The hardware in the system cannot control the GPUs -- that's done by the software (drivers).
That's the thing. I CANNOT UPDATE THEM AT ALL. And both Intel and AMD pointed out to Dell saying that because of the way Dell delivers the drivers the up to date drivers will NEVER EVER work when I e-mailed them for support.
If I update both drivers, which I have tried FYI, as I HAVE MENTIONED IN MY ORIGINAL POST,  the AMD GPU will NOT WORK ANY MORE.
The CCC allows me to select which GPU gets used for whatever program I want but the problem is that since the drivers haven't been updated by Dell in such a long time, none of the current programs/games know how to use this old system of switching graphics software any more and they take the Intel HD4000 as default whatever you do.
LE: And also, please keep in mind that I'm not expecting to be able to play at MAX Details and things like that. I have no high expectations for this system. But what I do expect is to at least be able to RUN the bloody thing.

  • How do I transfer photos from my iPod to my Dell Inspiron?

I cannot figure out how to tranfer my iPod photos/videos to my Dell Inspiron. I have Windows 8, and what I have tried is going to the Start screen and clicking photos and right clicked. Then I clicked the button saying, Import, with the image of a camera. And then it will give me an option of what device to use, so then I click the Apple iPod. But then a screen shows up, where it is suppose to show all my photos/videos, but then it tells me that I have no pictures or videos on my Apple iPod, when I indeed do. What can I do? Please help.

Are these pictures on your touch no longer stored on your PC or in a backup somewhere?  If so, you'll need the help of third party software to assist you with the task of extracting the photos from your iPod to your PC.  Keep in mind that these synced photos are no longer in their full resolution, but instead are scaled down thumbnails of the original.
Google for "copy photos from iPod software" and you should get a number of hits.
If you stored these photos in full resolution, see this article for instructions on copying them from your iPod back to your PC.

  • Printing Issues with HP PSC 750 on Dell Inspiron 3647 using Windows 8.1

Recently purchased a Dell Inspiron 3647 desktop which has Windows 8.1 unable to get my HP PSC 750 to print correctly.
I have downloaded all applicable Win 8.0 drivers and even tried using the HP print & Scan Doctor application.  I get partial test pages printed, but the emails, documents, etc. are not complete.
I had one error pop up stating that the USB 2.0 may not work with the 3.0 on the computer, but never how to 'work around that issue'.
I tried calling HP support and they wanted to 'remote' into my computer as that was the only way they said the issue could be fixed...never done that before and was not comfortable with it...
Any other ideas - before I go out and buy a brand new printer (this one by the way still works great!)
    Thanks in advance!

Hi there and welcome to the forums
I saw your post about trying to install and use your PSC 750 on your new Windows 8.1 system. After checking the drivers out for this printer, I have discovered that there is no driver available for Windows 8.1. Perhaps try running the HP Print and Scan Doctor to see if that will help with printing. If not, I would then suggest looking into an upgraded printer which will have more up to date software and would most likely function with 8.1.

  • Solaris 8 on intel(Dell Inspiron 4150)

I am trying to install Solaris 8 on my Laptop (Dell Inspiron 4150), but it is getting terminated stating "No dump device, continue to reboot".
Can anybody tell me if it is possible to install Solaris 8 or 9 on Dell Inspiron 4150.
How do I check the HCL?
    Jitendra

    http://laptops.solaris-x86.org lists a Dell Inspion 4100. I assume the
Inspiron 4100 and 4150 are build with similar hardware.
You should probably try to collect some information about the cause
of the kernel panic first, by booting with "kadb -v". Boot from the
"Software 1 of 2" CD, and at the "1 interactive or 2 custom jump start"
    propmt, type
    b kadb -v
The system will panic one again, but this time you can print a stack
backtrace, using the kadb "$c" command.
Report what error messages are printed now.
Does it panic due to a NULL pointer access, and is there a subroutine
"elxl_send" visible on the stack backtrace?
The entry in the laptop list indicates that you need a special version
of the "elxl" driver for the 3com network card. The standard Solaris 8 elxl
driver is known to panic the kernel with certain variants of the 3com
    3c905 cards.
In this case you should try to install solaris with the NIC disabled in
the BIOS, install Solaris, install the updated elxl driver mentioned in thttp://laptops.solaris-x86.org and finally manually configure the NIC.
