Dell Inspiron E1505 connects to E3000 router but no internet, other computers and devices work fine.

A few days ago one of our laptops dropped its internet connection. I tried everything that I could think offrie including turning off the router and dsl modem and rebooting. I could not get it to connect to the internet, but it would connect to the E3000 network. I finally formatted and reinstalled Windows 7, and I thought it was working but the next day I find that it is no longer connecting to the internet again but still connects to the network.
Have since uninstalled the firewall and tried running Cisco Easy Setup tool with no luck. I did find however that I can login as guest on the network and have internet access but that is the only way I can get internet access on this computer through the router.
Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you

If you are directly connected to the router can you get online? If you can then I believe the problem is on the main wireless network settings. If ever it won't work, you can reset the router and reconfigure it.

Power off and then back on the router
What happens when you enter the network's PW?
Try forgetting/deleting the network if necessary. To do that go to System Preferences>Network>wifi>Advanced and select the network and click on the minus sign

  • I hit Forget Network and now cannot get back onto my wireless home network. All of my other computers and iphones are fine.  How do I get the network back?  It shows in my list of networks but when I use the password and try to join it says not connected.

See if the iPad will accept the password after you restart it. It's worth a try.
Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
You could also try a reset as well.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.

  • Mini-Displayport to DVI adapter not working, but Mini-Displayport to VGA and Thunderbolt work fine

Mini-Displayport to DVI adapter not working, but Mini-Displayport to VGA and Thunderbolt work fine.
This is a brand new MacBook Pro (15-inch, mid-2012) just received.  I suspect that this is a hardware problem as:
The mini-displayport to DVI adapter and the external monitor that I am utilizing connect and operate just fine using my older MacBook Pro (mid-2010) with the same OS.
The new MacBook Pro powers the external monitor with a mini-displayport to VGA adapater without issue.
The new MacBook Pro powers an Apple Thunderbolt display without issue.
Both MacBook Pro's are running OSX Lion 10.7.4.
The only combination which does not work is the mini-displayport to DVI adapater used in conjunction with the brand new MacBook Pro (mid-2012).
All adapters and components (mini-displayport adapters) are Apple retail adapter.
I have tried several external monitors, including my Dell U2412m.
When I connect the mini-displayport to DVI adapater to the new MacBook Pro (mid-2012), nothing happens. The external monitor reports "no signal" and attempts to go into sleep mode.  Using the "Detect displays" button has no effect, even when used multiple times.  Rebooting does not help, nor does resetting the SMC or PRAM.
Any other suggestions before I take it to the Genius Bar?

I turns out that the logic board of my MacBook Pro was faulty (despite being brand new).
I took it to the Apple Store, presented the problem, and one of the Tech's came to the same conclusion that I had -- hardware failure.  Phone support was no help in the matter (and even told me that what I was trying to do wasn't a supported option, which is rediculous).  However, the Genius Bar did take care of the problem, and my MacBook Pro was back to me with a replaced logic board within a few days.
    Hope that htis helps.

  • Can't connect to Samba from Windows 8. Win 7 and XP work fine. Many popular solutions tried without success.

To cut the long story short, I have an android box on which is installed Servers Ultimate Pro app. I use this app to run a Samba server and share the contents of my 3TB external HDD connected to this box and use it as a media server over the wireless network.
This samba server is accessable from all my machines and devices - Win 7 Laptop, Win XP PC, and various other android devices using ES File Explorer. My Win 7 laptop has started to die on me, so I've got a new Win 8.1 laptop. The 8.1 laptop is unable to access
the samba server. I have tried various popular solutions (almost all the ones listed in http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/windows/en-US/5dd9991b-78e7-4fa3-b17c-366e4ae0092f) to no joy. The bizzare thing is that I am able to map the samba server to
a network drive in Win 8.1, I am able to see the size of the samba server (says quiet accurately that 1.54TB free of 2.75TB total), but when I click the icon to open the drive, I get the infamous message: Z:\ is not accessible. The specified server cannot
    perform the requested operation.
Of course the solution to the linked issue does not solve my problem since I presume Win 8.1 has this security patch KB2536276 built it and cannot be uninstalled. In order to completely rule out any Windows Update causing this issue, I did a clean reinstall
of Win 8.1 and still got the exact same issue.
    Any suggestions?

Further checks reveal that my wife's Win 8.1 laptop and my Surface RT tablet are both unable to access the Samba share either... but are able to map the share to a network drive showing the free disk space.
Seems like a Windows 8.1 issue to me now... M$ where are you!!!

  • Updated to firefox 3.6.6 on laptop and now it can't acces the net "The proxy server is refusing connections" I've restarted twice. My other computer in home works fine. Just not laptop on Network/WiFi

Can't access the web on lap. It's networked form main computer. The problem started just after I downloaded/updated to Firefox 3.6.6. That may be a coincidence. I get "The proxy server is refusing connections". Restarts don't help. My main computer is fine. I didn't update it.
    == This happened ==
    Just once or twice
== just after an update to 3.6.6

Firefox 3.6.6 made a change in prefs to use system proxy settings.
Check your proxy / network setting in Windows and change it to No Proxy, if you don't use a proxy.

  • We are using SAP SRM to punch out external catalogs. Firefox version 3.5 and below works fine and the items from the catalogs are brought back to SRM .But when we use version 3.6.12 the items are not getting transferred back to SRM from the Catalogs.

SRM is a procurement system from SAP which we use to purchase goods and service. We have external catalogs like officemax, cdw etc which we punchout the items and bring it to SRM for ordering.
When we use firefox version 3.5 and below the items which we add from the Catalogs are correctly brought back to SRM for us to order. But when we use versions 3.6.12 the items are not brought back to SRM.
Internet Explorer 7 and 8 works fine. Is there anyway you can help us.
    Thanks

    Hi,
Firstly I would suggest you to upgrade your database from Oracle Release 11.2.0.1.0 to Oracle Release 11.2.0.2 . This is the recommended Oracle 11g database version  for SAP solutions. Many of your problem will get resolved with it.
    Question 1:
So my first question would be is there any other suggestions besides adjusting the mentioned parameter above in order to ensure that no work processors going into hang state due to RFCs' occupying it as this issue always happens at the end of the month only when there are massive users accessing it.
For immediate resolution the approach you have followed is correct viz limiting number of dialog processes for RFC. Secondly you need to analyze why RFC processing takes so much time. You need check which programs are getting executed by those RFC.
Generate EarlyWatch report for more detailed view
    Question 2:
My second question is what went wrong with the libttsh11.so file. How could it be 0 size in PRD when no signs of changes had happen to the PRD system. Is this a proven Oracle Bug or something else since I have never encountered anything like this before.
The libttsh11.so library cannot be found in the related directory.
    Cause
The file system is mounted using CIO option, but per Note 257338.1 Direct I/O (DIO) and Concurrent I/O (CIO) on AIX 5L, an ORACLE_HOME on a filesystem mounted with "cio" option is not supported.
Such a configuration will cause, installation, relinking and other unexpected problems.
    Solution
Disable the CIO option on the filesystem.

Hi there can anyone help me out.  I have Apple TV and I am trying to connect wirelessly through a zyxel wireless hotspot gateway, I know a tad extreme but a friend had one free,  anyway I can find the router but no Internet connection?

The only people who can possibly assist you with this is Apple Customer Relations, call your local Apple contact number and ask for Customer Relations then explain your situation clearly and politely (be firm but don't rant).
You might want to investiage what the local laws are regarding defective goods and 'fit for use' definitions on warranties etc. Consumer Protection can be a useful tool to use or bargain with if needed ...

  • Not able to connect with my router, but other networks work ok.

I have a 2d generation iPod Touch. I can't connect to my home network that operates on a DLink DIR-628 router. However I can connect to other access points with no trouble at all. When my iPod tries to connect with my router, it asks for my password and I enter the password I think is correct, but it won't accept it. When I check the router web page there is no password visible. Does the problem lie with the Router or with the iPod Touch? I have three other computers and two wireless printers that are operating through the router with no problem at all.

    Have you tried:
    - Resetting your iPod:
    - Resetting network settings on the iPod: Setting>General>reset>Reet Network Settins
    - Powering off and then back on your router

  • WIFI stopped working after I woke the computer up, now says connected to the network but not the internet, all other coputers and devices connected still with no problems, have pinged IP address from router and got the message "4 packets sent none receive

    Hi,
WIFI stopped working after I woke the computer up, now says connected to the network but not the internet, all other coputers and devices connected still with no problems, have pinged IP address from router and got the message "4 packets sent none received"... Help
I have tried network diagnostics which doesnt help... The only other ting is, when I woke the computer up it said tat another device was using my IP... My wife had plugged her phone into the computer to charge etc but even when i turn wifi off on the phone there is no change... also in settings on the phone the IP address is different...

The answer to your question is - neither!
Your PC should to configured to obtain an IP address automatically, and to obtain DNS server IP addresses automatically, from the Airport Express. This is the way Windows (and Macs for that matter) are configued by default, and that is the way most people have their computers set up. If you manually configured your PC's IP address to be the same as your wife's Mac, it certainly explains why your PC is not able to access the internet.

  • Help, Connected To The Router, But Still Not Connecting To Internet

We bought a router and a wireless adapter a few years ago, I moved out and then moved back. I tried to connect to the network we setup in the first place, but it didn't work and I was told that I had to reset the router, so I did, and I setup a new network, and the computer with the router is working fine, but the computer with the adapter, even after I ran the setup disk on it again, all it does is connect to the router, but I'm still not getting the internet. If anyone has any ideas on how I can remedy this problem I would really appreciate it if you would share it with me.  Thank you.

Try and download the driver for the adapter again. It can be found here.
Also for the router, that can be found here.

  • HT204400 My apple tv says that it's connected to my router, but it's not connected to the internet

I just got the apple tv and have been trying to connect it up.  When I select my wi-fi network it shows that it's connecting, but then it comes back and tells me it's connected to my router, but not connected to the internet (my PC).

Your router should connected to a modem and the ATV would be accessing your wifi network via router in order to connect to the internet.
Can you please clarify the issue?

Hello sassyv and welcome to community,
I have check the setting in K1 model, you may try in your device.
    1. Turn on the Wireless, and then go to “Setting” --> "Wireless & networks” --> "Wi-Fi settings”
    2. In “Wi-Fi settings” dialogue box, you will find your wireless network. Click your preferred wireless network.
    3. Type your wireless security key (if needed) and then scroll up to change others setting. Set “DCHP” to “Static” in “IP settings” box and then force your IP address accordingly to your network setting. After finishing above settings, press “Connect” button.
    4. You should be able to surf Internet now.

  • Im having trouble getting my wifi, it connects to the router but isnt getting internet.  My room mates and I can connect our iphones and other devices just fine, help would be appriciated

First time on here and my knowledge with networking and such is very limited, my Mac Pro can connect to the router but when I try to open my browser it wont bring up any webpage.  The only way I can get internet is through an ethernet port, Im basically at a loss for what to do.

You will find the AirPort icon (looks like this ) on the OS X menu bar. Option (or right) click the icon, and you should be greeted with a drop-down menu. All of the parameters I mentioned should now appear after the name of your Wi-Fi network.
The meaning of each of the values are as follows:
PHY Mode = The radio mode that your Mac Pro is connecting with.
Channel = The radio channel the Mac Pro is connected to.
RSSI = Received Signal Strength Indication. It's an indication of the power level of the signal as preceived by the Mac Pro's internal Wi-Fi antenna. Typically the higher the RSSI number the stronger the signal. RSSI is measured in arbitrary units. Some manufacterers use a positive scale, others like Apple, use a negative (0 to -100) instead. For the AirPorts, the less negative the better.
Transmit Rate = Instantaneous maximum date transfer rate of the connection in Mbps (Megabits per second)
MCX Index = Modulation and Coding Scheme. The MCS value identifies a number of things, including the number of spatial streams used in the Wi-Fi connection between the Mac Pro and the AirPort router. A larger or smaller MCS value is meaningless. Instead, it defines the actual connection type. In turn, the type can play a significantly on the potential bandwidth performance.
