Dell Laptop computer

I have a problem with my 17" display. Just got the computer as a gift. The display is crystalized. I have Windows Vista Home Premium. Dell replaced the display twice and put another video card in. Still the same although when the displays were replaced they worked for awhile.???
Can anyone tell me what I can do? The next thing Dell wants to do is reinstall windows.

Does the effect change if you wiggle the screen back and forth a bit?
Have you tried an external monitor?
I'm 95% certain you have a hardware problem that stems from a loose display connection to the motherboard. On a typical Dell, there is a cable that goes from the bottom of the screen to the hinge, that is then routed back to the center of the PC below the hinge assembly and then down to the motherboard. On my girlfriend's Inspiron 600m, the connector has begun to fail in a manner that causes white to get tinted blue, and other colors to get tinted in other ways. Wiggling the screen can change how it appears. It sounds like your machine has the same problem except yours goes pink instead of blue. If it's what I think it is, an OS reinstall won't fix it - it is a hardware problem with the display connector.

After my Dell studio1535 running Ubuntu 11.04 switches to screen saver and then blanks the screen to save power I canl bring back my desktop, but not accept any keyboard or mouse clicks. It will allow courser movement only. The only solution is to power down and re-boot.
This only happens when I leave a window with Firefox 5.0 open. No other software package causes this problem.

I cannot get the remote application to control iTunes On a Windows Seven Dell Notebook computer

Hey I need some help.
I cannot get Apple's Remote application to take control of iTunes on a Dell laptop computer.
It says to go to the Edit menu in iTunes On your computer, click on preferences & then click on devices & make sure there is a tick in the box that says look for a remote, but when you go to this Menu, There is nothing that says look for a Remote. I cannot get my iPad third generation 64GB 3G+WiFi, iPhone five, or iPod touch fifth generation To control iTunes on a Apple TV Second generation Using Apple's remote application. I have checked everything to make sure the software is up-to-date. I can get it to control Apple TV fine, but it will not Take control of iTunes.
I have gone through the Pairing process but it still Will not work. I've installed iTunes twice & checked the Firewall to confirm it is not blocking bonjour OR any other Apple software. I have even tried completely disabling the firewall. It was perfectly fine last week, then my friend got his house broken into & he asked me to go onto iCloud.com to try & locate his iPad, ever since then, it has completely stopped working. If anybody can help, it will be gladly appreciated.

Help with CS5 Install to New Dell Laptop!

I am consistently getting this (ERROR: DW050: - Adobe Color EU CS5.5: Install failed), after several attempts to install CS5.5 on my new Dell laptop computer. I turned off my firewall and antivirus security, as suggested by the installer, but none of it made any difference. I have the download exe. file on my network drive, however I did place a copy on my desk top to do the install. Any assistance would be appreciated.

I am using a dell laptop running windows 7 and have tried changing the file location to run the update in all of my iTunes files as well as when I've tried reinstalling it.

For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.
The further information area has direct links to the current and recent builds in case you have problems downloading, need to revert to an older version or want to try the iTunes for Windows (64-bit - for older video cards) release as a workaround for installation or performance issues, or compatibility with QuickTime or third party software.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there are also links to backup and recovery advice should it be needed.

Apparently the display is required to be HDCP compatible to view HD movies in iTunes. My display isn't so this is my problem. I contacted Apple support and they have agreed to credit me for the HD movie and I have now downloaded the SD version.

Plug it in and sync it.
It will erase the ipod content and replace with the content from the new computer so make sure that you have copied everything form the old computer, or your backup copy of the old computer, to your new one first.

Terminate the process in task manager or turn off Minibridge in the PS prefs and restart your system.

Apple Store Geniuses helped me determine that it wasn't my iPad causing the problem, but were less helpful when it came to dealing with non-Apple devices.

Does the OS see the iPad at all? In other words does it show up in either the My Computer or Device Manager?
I've had problems in the past where I had to modify the registry to get my son's iPod to sync with a particular HP laptop.
If it doesn't show up at all have your tried using an external hub (with or without power)?

Windows drivers for Intel wireless cards are known problematic.. If you have plenty of signal and it still cannot keep or hold the connection the issue can simply be the type of wireless.
Another problem is using names that windows does not easily handle.
eg If you set the TC using apple names, like
Fred Blog's Airport Time Capsule wireless24ad12
Then to windows this is too long.. it has spaces and it has illegal character.
Change all names on the TC to suit windows. Short, no spaces and pure alphanumeric.
Also security must be suitable.. I have no idea how old or what OS your dell is, but if you still have issues.. pull off the security on the TC for a test.. if the computer suddenly works, it is not compatible with WPA2 AES. Make sure you also use a password that is mix upper and lower case plus numbers.. avoid special characters and make it 10-20 characters long say.. it is not required to be more than that unless you are paranoid.

yes it will charge otherwise places with the apdotor but when I put the just the wire in my pc it will not work it wont even be recognized by the cumputer (I know its not the wire because its chargeing now in a outlet ) iam try to reset it in the cp and itunes will not recognize it in the link did not help either

Installing, and uninstalling, applications never touches or removes the data.
Clean out and uninstall all the apple programs and software thru Programs and manually.
Might want to use Revo and CCleaner
I always use manual standalone installers (and keep a couple backup versions)
itunes 10.5 may affect iTunes media playlists, not sure, depends on what you have.

How do I import my folders of bookmarks created on a Dell laptop to an Apple iMac and clean up the mess I've created trying to create a new set of folders and bookmarks on the iMac?

I have been unable to find and import from the version of Firefox on my Dell laptop to an Apple iMac the folders containing bookmarked website addresses. In the process, I've created a mishmash of unwanted bookmarks. Please provide me a step by step process to import the folders to the version of Firefox on the iMac. The process to accomplish this seems very awkward and counter-intuitive. The same goes for creating new folders and bookmarking website addresses to those folders on the version of Firefox installed on the iMac.

Thanks for the tip about the Firefox Sync feature. A friend and I managed to use the Sync feature to "transfer" the folders of Bookmarked website addresses from the Dell to the iMac. We found that shutting off and rebooting the receiving iMac computer was necessary for all the folders to transfer over. Also, the entire process would have gone more smoothly had we had separate internet connections for the two computers, but we managed to shift our single internet connection between the computers as the Sync process progressed through its steps. Definitely a learning process.
