Dell Optiplex 780 standard size tower PC dual monitor display port graphic cards

Yes, only my boss informed me that they have to be display ports, he didn't tell me why.
I'm unable to buy from ebay or craiglist either & my local vendor doesn't have any in stock.

Quite a mouthful I know! but I need these specific graphic cards, ideally with next day delivery:

Any recommendations? I can find 2 on amazon (UK) I need 3!

  • Can DV6-1352 Handle Long-Term Dual Monitors on the Graphics card

    Hey guys,
Very simple question here. I wanted to set up a dual monitor thing on my Dv6-1352. I believe it has this integrated graphics chip : Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator 4500MHD. I wanted to use the dual monitor capabilities on it, but I was wondering if over time, extended use of the graphics card due to dual monitors would make it over heat/kill it. I don't plan on playing games, just using it cuz A) Its pretty cool B)It'd help increase efficiency in my engineering school work which requires I have a lot of things open at the same time.
    Thanks in advance!

    Hi
The retail version of the 9600 comes with two DVI ports.
I think some companies were selling OEM versions with an ADC and DVI port that had been pulled from G5s and modified to work in G4s.
In a G5 both ports work fine but in a G4 I don't think the ADC port is powered. The Quicksilver does actually have the required internal power slot, but I think it's in a different position on the logic board. Consequently the power stub on the card which lines up with the slot in a G5 doesn't line up with the slot in a G4.
I think you can still use two monitors by using an ADC to DVI adapter cable. This would convert the unpowered ADC port into a second DVI port.
To connect two DVI monitors, you'd just need one ADC to DVI adapter cable.
To connect two ADC monitors, you'd need the above adapter plus two DVI to ADC adapters which are fairly expensive ($99 each).
To connect one DVI monitor and one ADC monitor, you'd need one ADC to DVI adapter cable and one DVI to ADC adapter.
The retail 9600 doesn't have an ADC port either, so either way you'd end up buying some form of adapter in order to use an ADC monitor.
    I hope this helps.

  • Dual Monitor display/firmware difference

I purchased a Pavilion 27xi monitor from the HP Shopping site in October 2014 and purchased an additional 27xi to be used in a dual monitor setup. I received the new monitor this week. The newer monitor does not match the color/white of my existing monitor. When I move a white rectangle so it displays on each monitor, on the new monitor it appears as greenish gray instead of the white of the older monitor. I have done the factory resets, switched display adapter outputs (NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GT), tried one monitor at a time on either adapter output. All with no change in the behavior of the new monitor. The internal setup/control menus of the monitors differ in content and style/color.
Older monitor info:  manuf: April 2014, Rev: RIM111
New monitor info:   manuf: Dec 2014,  Rev: RIM232
I have talked with HP "support" and one person thought it was because of the revision level difference.
I want the display quality of the older monitor, Rev: RIM111.  If the monitor difference is because of the revision level, can the newer monitor be put at the RIM111 level. I tried to purchase a monitor with the RIM111 level and was told by HP Shopping that they do not have any at that level. I this a firm level that can be changed? If so how do I accomplish that?

Welcome to the HP Forums, I hope you enjoy your experience! To help you get the most out of the HP Forums I would like to direct your attention to the HP Forums Guide First Time Here? Learn How to Post and More.
I understand that the newest monitor you have connected to your desktop computer does not match the color/white of the existing display, and I would be happy to assist you in this matter!
To ensure that your system is properly configured for dual monitor displays, I recommend following the steps in this document on Using Two or More Monitors with One Computer (Windows 8). If everything is setup accordingly, I recommend following the steps below for the newest monitor:
Step 1. Unplug the power cord from the back of the monitor and the wall
Step 2. Hold the power button down for at least one minute
Step 3. Plug the power cord back into the monitor and then into the wall outlet (not a power bar or surge protector)
Step 4. Press the Menu button on the monitor
Step 5. Navigate to the Factory Reset option and select it
Step 6. Try a different cable connecting your monitor to your computer
If the above steps did not resolve your issue you can try the monitor on a computer or other device to see if the issue persists. Please call our technical support at 800-474-6836. If you live outside the US/Canada Region, please click the link below to get the support number for your region.

  • PowerMac G5 1.8 GHz Dual (Buy April 2005) Graphics Cards?

I want to buy a new graphics card for my PowerMac 1.8 Dual GHz which a got in April of 2005. I have not made any improvments to the hardware at all. All I do know is that the Nvidia 6600 Upgrade on Apple.com will not fit into my computer slots. If someone can tell me out of this list, the ones that will fit into my computer. Thanks
One of the following graphics cards:
ATI Radeon X800 XT Mac Edition
ATI Radeon 9800 XT or 9800 Pro
NVIDIA GeForce 6800 Ultra DDL or 6800 GT DDL
    NVIDIA GeForce 7800 GT
    NVIDIA Quadro FX 4500
    PowerMac G5 Dual 1.8GHz   Mac OS X (10.4.3)   I don't know if I have PCI or PCI-X or PCI-Express ports.

    Happy New Year!!!
Would you say ATI Radeon 9800 Pro is better than Nvidia 6800, in terms of both performance and price?
    Thanks in advance.

  • Is a dual monitor setup with 2graphic cards possible?

    HI.
What i want to do is run Archlinux on my Desktop but i dont want to miss my second monitor.
I could use both monitor on my nvidia graphiccard but i want to use the energy saving features too (wich dont work with 2monitor on one card) therefore my windows setup is big monitor on nvidia and the smaller one on the intel onboard card.
They both get recognized by lspci but only the onboard cards isy being used (the onboard card is the first card on windows too).
So is it possible to get it to work? Id really want to use ARchlinux on my Desktop too but i dont want to use it with one screen or without energy saving?
Working compositing is a must, i want to use gnome3 wich is the only reason to swich to linux for the Desktop (arch is running on the laptop for ages^^) but i dont need to, Win7 is working flawlessly fine and i didnt have to pay for it (msdnaa).
    Thanks in advance!

hy do you need to clock down your card?
Most gpu have a function that clocks down the card@idle and or desktop.
In my case thats down from 850mhz(560ti)to 200mhz while using windows and 50mhz if the gpu load is low.
Thats about 20watts less then with full clock.
The problem is, that the gpu wont clock down with 2monitors on it, it stays at 850mhz.
Theres some driver tweaks for amd cards wich "fix" thatfix this (i believe its intentionl, 2monitors equals more load but its no problem with new cards...
Thats one reason i use my onboard gpu for the second monitor, it works well with windows and also means that swiching off fullscreen (games) to the desktop works a lot better, the second monitor can play a movie while playing wich doesnt work with one gpu and fullscreen.
I really dont need that with Linux since i use it for work and multimedia only but the energy saving feature is nice if the pc is on 8hours and more wich is often the case.
Can you tell which one do you run? I'm going to buy one for dual-monitor setup, and I'm looking for something that will work for shure.
As said dual monitor on one gpu works, amd can do 3monitors while nvidia can do 2 at once, that means if u intend to use 3monitors some day with ur card u have to buy an amd card.
i took the nvidia because is can use it to render videos with cuda support (its not working with all tools yet but its getting better and if it works its a lot faster then my cpu rendering).
PS: Thats one hread about the power saviing with 2monitors:http://forums.nvidia.com/index.php?showtopic=197557
since my monitors dont share the same resolution it seems that theres no way to make it work .

  • Seamless Windows and Dual Monitor Display

Seamless windows open spanning both display monitors regardless of the settings I use to prevent it. It's like the SGD thinks both monitors are one big display and doesn't open things in just the default monitor. An application that opens maximized will cover both monitors!
Has anyone else had this problem and found a workaround? We are using Windows XP client (Dell laptop), IE6, 2 display monitors (NVidia graphics card), and the application server is Windows 2003, SGD is 4.2.

It is an individual application we are publishing in the seamless window, but that one application launches many applications from there -- it is basically a toolbar for launching a whole host of other applications.

If I use the xf86-video-intel driver from extra, the xrandr command to do dual-outputs fails and I get both monitors showing the same desktop (mirrored mode).  I switched to use AUR's xf86-video-intel-git (reading the forums it said this would fix the dual-monitor issue until extra moves to 2.12.0-2) and I do get the dual monitors working propery with the xrandr command, but I'm experiencing wierd effects.  For every unminimized window on the desktop, if I put another window in front, the shadow of the window below stays on top of the window containing the focus.  Hard to explain, so I'll use a photo:
That's what it looks like with xf89-video-intel-git, libdrm-git, dri-git, and anything else git and intel graphics related I can find.  Any ideas what's wrong, or what I would even call this problem so I can look around and see if anyone else is having the same issues?

Ok, I went into the XFCE4 setting manager and opened the "Window Manager Tweaks" module, Under "Compositor" if I disable display compositing the shadowing effect is gone, making the display much more usable (thanks!).  But now compositing does not work.  Guess I'll go report this to XFCE, or is the XFCE compositing manager handled by someone else?

  • K9ND Speedster & Dual PCI-E 8800GTS Graphics Cards

Hehe, this is funny question, or just down right depressing if your in my shoes...
Ive been having problems with a K9ND motherboard on another topic, which i had to return. Ive just bought another K9ND Speedster motherboard, and im woundering... Has any one had a Dual PCI-E graphics card setup with the K9ND Speedster, as ive looked at the signatures for most of the top Workstation/Server posters with K9ND boards, and notice they only have 1 PCI-E installed.
Does Dual PCI-E 8800GTS cards work correctly on the K9ND Speedster motherboard, as i had the dredded code 12 "not enough memory resources, disable one of the devices", when i had them installed on the last motherboard.
I really hope that i can run my 2 8800GTS XXX graphics cards with my new MSI K9ND Speedster when it arrives before christmas hopefully, as i need 3 or 4 screens with gaming graphics.

  • Dual 450, new AGP graphics card?

    Hello,
I have a AGP graphics card I pulled from an original Dual 1.8 (8 ram slots). I am going to venture a guess that this will NOT work in a Dual G4, 450Mhz? And since I am near sure that is the case, what should I be looking for? Primary application is Photoshop, and if possible, the abiltiy for Dual monitors sometime in the future. I don't know the code name for this unit, it has a blue front cover and 2 FW 400 ports (which suprised me!). We are hoping to make it a dual boot machine with one hard drive dedicated to 9.2 and another to 10.3... I imagine that matters in terms of cards that work with 9.2?
    Thanks,
    Mike

You could go with the extreamly pricey new ATI Radeon 9800 Pro Mac Edition (I forgot about this card in my last post btw). You can find it at OWC, http://eshop.macsales.com/item/ATI%20Technologies/100435058/ , but its not cheap, $259, but it does have 256MB VRAM. One other problem with this card, you may need to get a new powersupply which can deliver more power in order to use it, not cheap to do.
The PCI based ATI Radeon 9200, which is only $135.

  • How to get standard size viewable across different monitor sizes?

How can I get the same view size with media buttons on the bottom ie like full screen across the different size monitors?
    im creating a captivate demo.
    however the target is
    large monitors 21 inch
and different laptop models and screen
    size.
I would like the output in as SWF - html.
Ive been playing around with the settings and these are my results:
Setting:Record and Capture area ‘Full Screen’
    the result:
looks great on the 21 inch monitor.
the same .html file on the laptop
    the result is:
cuts off the recording on the bottom the screen. so you have to use the scroll bars to see the full screen
    if I Rescale the Project
    from
    width percentage:100
    Height percentage:100
    to:
    width percentage:70
    Height percentage:70
    the result is:
loss of quality on both laptop screen & desktop screen.
If I publish as a Media .exe.
The result is a very large .exe file size  compared to a html file
    Any ideas?
    thank you
    dd

The rule of thumb I always use it to capture the original screen recordings at the same resolution as the lowest resolution device I expect to view the demo.  So if you are doing your screen capture from a 21inch screen but expect people to play it back on 14 inch laptops, find out what resolution the 14 inch laptops are operating at, temporarily change the resolution of the device connected to the 21 inch screen to match the resolution of the 14 inch laptops - record all your screen captures - then change the resolution back to normal on the 21 inch display only after you have finished recording. You then shouldn't have to mess around with rescaling and it should look great on everything!  Work at the lowest common denominator.
(apologies in advance if I misunderstood what you were asking)

  • SL500 dual monitor display

I was wondering if someone could help me.  I have an SL500 and need to hook up 2 projectors to it to display the same image from the laptop on 2 screens.  I have done a little research, but there are so many options and I'm not sure if I am considering the most efficient method of doing this.  I also am a bit intimidated by all of the specifications and am not sure if what I was going to purchase would be compatible.
The 2 projectors I need to connect to are a Dell M410HD and a Dell 2300 MP.  I was looking at splitters on this site, but don't know which one is the best/compatible for my laptop:
    http://www.startech.com/AV/Splitters/VGA-Splitters/
    Thanks in advance.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

vga splitters will do, but if your cable is too long, the signal will degrade.
Alternatively you can use the Dell M410HD with your HDMI port, and the Dell 2300 MP with the vga port. This will give the highest quality.
