Dell Sonicwall Dynamic Routing Device Support

Up until November 24, 2014 the known compatible VPN devices here
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/azure/jj156075.aspx listed Dell Sonicwall as compatible. The page was updated November 24, and Dell Sonicwall is now listed as Not Compatible.
Can someone please explain what changed, and why Sonicwall is no longer compatible?

Hi All,
The Device has been removed from the compatibility list for Dynamic Configuration after repeated complaints from customers about intermittent performance.
On analysis it was gathered that the device works in a dynamic (route-based) mode only when SonicWall VPN initiates the IPSEC negotiations.
When Azure Gateway initiates the IPSEC negotiations, it fails.
Also DELL's official Website states Route-Based VPN using Tunnel Interface is not supported for third party devices.
For details you could refer the following link.
https://support.software.dell.com/kb/sw7902
If you still need assistance with the device, you might have to get in touch with DELL Support.

Malar.

  • Dynamic Routing Protocol Support in Cisco ASA Multiple Context Mode

                       Dear Experts,
Wold like to know whether dynamic Routing Protocol Support in Cisco ASA Firewall Multiple Context Mode. If yes then please provide OS version and Hardware Model of Cisco ASA Firewall. Appreciate the quick response.  Thanks.

    Hi,
Check out this document for the information
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/security/asa/roadmap/asa_new_features.html#wp93116
Its lists the following for software level 9.0(1)
    Multiple   Context Mode Features
    Dynamic routing in Security   Contexts
EIGRP and OSPFv2 dynamic   routing protocols are now supported in multiple context mode. OSPFv3, RIP, and multicast routing   are not supported.
Seems to me you would need some 9.x version to support the above mentioned Dynamic Routing Protocols.
I don't think its related to the hardware model of the ASA other than that it requires a model that supports Multiple Context Mode. To my understanding the only model that doesnt support that is ASA5505 of the whole ASA5500 and ASA5500-X series.
    Hope this helps

  • Good CCIE question: Can multiple site-2-site VPNs support dynamic routing protocols?

    Hi All,
Was not sure if this should be posted in LAN routing, WAN routing or VPN forums: I have posted here as the VPN tunnels are the limiting factors...
I am trying to understand if it is possible to have dynamic routing between LANs when using site to site VPNs on three or more ASA55x5-x (9.0).
To best explain the question I have put together an example scenario:
Lets say we have three sites, which are all connected via a separate site-2-site IKEv2 VPNs, in a full mesh topology (6 x SAs).
Across the whole system there would be a 192.168.0.0/16 subnet which is divided up by VLSM across all sites.
The inside / outside interfaces of the ASA would be static IPs from a /30 subnet.
Routing on the outside interface is not of concern in this scenario.
The inside interface of the ASA connects directly to a router, which further uses VLSM to assign additional subnets.
VLSM is not cleanly summarised per site. (I know this flys against VLSM best practice, but makes the scenario clearer...)
New subnets are added and removed at each site on a frequent basis.
EIGRP will be running on each core router, and any stub routers at each site.
So this results in the following example topology, of which I have exaggerated the VLSM position:
Now, using static route redistribution from the ASAs into EIGRP and making the ASAs to be an EIGRP neighbour, would be one way. This would mean an isolated EIGRP AS per site, but each site would only learn about a new remote subnet if the crypto map match ACL was altered. But the bit that I am confused over, is the potential to have new subnets added or removed which would require EIGRP routing processes on the relevant site X router to be altered as well as crypto map ACLs being altered at all sites. This doesn't seem a sensible approach...
The second method could be to have the 192.168.0.0/16 network defined in the crypto map on all tunnels and allow the ASAs routing table to chose which tunnel to send the traffic over. This would require multiple neighbours for the ASA, but for example in OSPF, it can only support one neighbour over a S2S VPN when manually defined (point-to-point). The only way round this I can see is to share our internal routing tables with the IP cloud, but this then discloses information that would be otherwise protected by the IPSEC tunnel...
Is there a better method to propagate the routing information dynamically around the example scenario above?
Is there a way to have dynamic crypto maps based on router information?
P.S. Diagram above produced via http://www.diagram.ly/

    Hi Guys,
Thanks for your responses!  I am learning here, hence the post.
David: I had looked in to the potential for GRE tunnels, but the side-effects could out weight the benifits.  The link provided shows how to pass IKEv1 and ISAKMP traffic through the ASA.  In my example (maybe not too clear?) the IPSEC traffic would be terminated on the ASA and not the core router behind.
Marcin: Was looking at OSPF, but is that not limited to one neighbour, due to the "ospf network point-to-point non-broadcast" command in the example (needed to force the unicast over the IPSEC tunnel)? Have had a look in the ASA CLI 9.0 config guide and it is still limited to one neighbour per interface when in point-to-point:
ospf network point-to-point non-broadcastSpecifies the interface as a point-to-point, non-broadcast network. When you designate an interface as point-to-point and non-broadcast, you must manually define the OSPF neighbor; dynamic neighbor discovery is not possible. See the "Defining Static OSPFv2 Neighbors" section for more information. Additionally, you can only define one OSPF neighbor on that interface.
Otherwise I would agree it would be happy days...
Any other ideas (maybe around iBGPs like OSPF) which do not envolve GRE tunnels or terminating the IPSEC on the core router please?
    Kindest Regards,
    James.

  • If support dynamic routing protocol?

    Hi, guys
I know RRAS can support only RIP protocol. However, I cant find any way to configure dynamic routing protocol on TMG, some people say TMG cant support that even rip. That’s right? Is it possible or is there any plug-in can help TMG to do that?
    Nice Day

    Hi,
Thank you for your post here.
As far as I know, it is impossible to do that. By default, TMG does not support it.

  • Dell Equallogic SAN HIT Kit support for SAP in Linux 11.2

    Hello Everyone,
I would like to use an Equallogic SAN as storage in SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 11.2. Is the Equallogic SAN supported in Linux when using the HIT Kit to provide MPIO and snapshot support? The article from thorsten.staerk describes Equallogic SAN + Linux + native iSCSI (no mention of the HIT Kit). I understand that there are restrictions on using third party kernel modules.
My understanding is that the Equallogic MPIO driver will provide a faster, more efficient, connection to the SAN along with additional features.

Running in the background, the ehcmd daemon uses the Open-iSCSI management tool (iscsiadm) to add, remove, or modify iSCSI sessions to maintain an optimal number of iSCSI sessions. It also gathers information on the volume layout from the PS Series group.
    2. A loadable kernel module, dm-switch, which implements a new Device Mapper target to the multipath devices. Based on the volume layout on the array members, the dm-switch module routes each I/O to the optimal path within the PS Series group.

I'll take a moment to provide an update on the solution. There were some issues with the initial configuration of the in guest iSCSI volumes. If I had to start from scratch, I would run all the storage through VMware. The last round of software updates appears to have resolved a potentially serious issue with iSCSI disconnects. iSCSI has run perfectly for two months now. I'll consider the issue resolved once I have six months without any iSCSI issues.
One remaining issue is that LVM won't initialize properly without implementing a custom init script. The init script work-around is simple and it works.

  • MPLS, GRE (with no IPSEC) & Dynamic Routing

    Good day my friends!
Just wondering if any of you could help shed some light on how I would do something. We are switching over from a Point to Point connection between sites to an MPLS one. I have read that Multicast is not permitted across MPLS, so after terminating the MPLS circuits into our network, I created some GRE Tunnels to allow for Multicast (for Dynamic routing as well as Music on Hold)... Everything went well, other then all traffic between the sites is going over the Tunnel interfaces. I would prefer that only multicast traffic go over the GRE tunnel and all other traffic traverse the MPLS without GRE Encapsulation.
I attempted to do this by doing the following... I wrote an access list indicating Multicast source addresses, then created a route map and did a match ip address acl and set interface to tunnel. then I applied that route map to the vlan (although it doesn't give me the option for direction on the 6509 switch) that the single interface is a member of. That interface goes to the router provided by the service provider. I did the same in the other site as well (2811 router, appied to the interface). What have I done wrong so far?
We run EIGRP and I did inject the tunnel ip addresses into eigrp, after which traffic started going across it (the tunnel). I need to make sure that routing can find a path via MPLS in EIGRP outside of GRE, and for that all I have done so far is create static routes (on our 6509 and 2811 devices that the MPLS terminates to) with the destination subnet being in the other site between the qwest router and our router (Did that at both sites). I havent created any static routes for remote sites internal subnets because I would like EIGRP to do that, I don't want to rely on Static routes for routing between sites as far as our internal routing.
So I guess, my question is 2 fold:
What else do I need to do to get EIGRP to know about the path between sites over MPLS besides through the GRE tunnel?
How would you control traffic so only Multicast traversed the GRE tunnel where all other traffic would go over MPLS natively?
Any help you could lend would be very much appriciated!

    Thanks for the reply Laurent!
Ok, so I just got off the phone our SP and they said they do not support Multicast transport over MPLS... so your assumption is correct...
I see, so it sounds like I want to stay away from allowing all traffic to traverse between sites over MPLS via GRE... I never considered the issue with scaling when using GRE for all traffic. Good to know!
While I was on the phone with our SP, I talked with them about routing protocol's they support via MPLS, to which they responded with BGP as really the only option.
FYI, this is our current WAN arrangement between 2 of the sites:
    Site A>Cisco 2811>Adtran Router (SP provided)>PE-PESite B
    Site A>Cisco 2811 (same as above)>Adtran Router (SP provided)>PE-PESite B
The SP suggested we run OSPF between our hardware and the Adtran routers and then 2-way redistribute subnets between EIGRP to OSPF and then from OSPF to BGP as follows:
EIGRP ran inside Site A and B
OSPF running on outside facing interface on 2811 and 6509
OSPF running on inside interfaces on Adtran routers
Private AS BGP running on Adtran with Public AS neighbor to PE device
This should work, but wouldn't it work for me to just configure BGP on our 2811 and have a IBGP adjacency between it and the Adtran Router and then filter what routes are redistributed from and to IBGP on our 2811 into EIGRP? If this would work, does one design have any advantages over the other? It seems like the EIGRP to OSPF to BGP idea has to many moving parts...
My objective is to allow all devices in all locations (4 MPLS sites) to route dynamically, verses relying on static routes.
Regarding the Tunnel config's... I see... Excellent example. OK, so it sounds and looks like I would first configure each site with the routing protocol solution, then, implement GRE with per the example provided, and that would accomplish Multicast over GRE and everything else over MPLS! Thanks alot Laurent!
So what would you recommend regarding the routing protocol structure?

  • Apple mobile device support install/uninstall sets my wireless to limited access

    Dell Pavilion dv7
    Windows 7 64 bit.
    Current itunes 10.4
When installing itunes 10.5, my wireless connection changed to limited access.  I can not connect to the internet with wireless.  If I put my ethernet cable in, i can connect to the internet through the ethernet cable.
I found no solutions to fix the limited access issue.  So, i had to restore my system.  After the restore my wireless connection could connect to the internet again.
But now itunes does not work.  One of two messages come up.  The latest (i have done several system restores).  Either quicktime was not found or something about iTunes Library.itl is out of synch with the current version of itunes.
Now i decide to uninstall all the itunes installed products one at a time.  Itunes, quicktime, Apple software update, Apple mobile device support and there it goes, my wireless connection changes to limited access again.
    Any help would be great.

Let's try a standalone Apple Mobile Device Support install. It still might not install, but fingers crossed any error messages will give us a better idea of the underlying cause of why it's not installing under normal conditions.
Download and save a copy of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe) installer file to your hard drive:
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Download and install the free trial version of WinRAR:
    http://www.rarlab.com/
Right-click the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe), and select "Extract to iTunesSetup" (or "Extract to iTunes64Setup"). WinRAR will expand the contents of the file into a folder called "iTunesSetup" (or "iTunes64Setup").
Go into the folder and doubleclick the AppleMobileDeviceSupport.msi (or AppleMobileDeviceSupport64.msi) to do a standalone AMDS install.
(If it offers you the choice to remove or repair, choose "Remove", and if the uninstall goes through successfully, see if you can reinstall by doubleclicking the AppleMobileDeviceSupport.msi again.)
Does it install (or uninstall and then reinstall) properly for you? If so, can you get a normal iTunes install to go through properly now?
If instead you get an error message during the install (or uninstall), let us know what it says. (Precise text, please.)

Is there any way where is can specify URL or URI of the proxy service????

Is there any way where is can specify URL or URI of the proxy service????First of all, you would not like to move your resources here and there frequently in production. Secondly, if you move the resources, definitely you have to change X-Query/Message flow. There is no alternative.
If you want this feature to be enhanced, please raise a ER with Oracle Support and if they find it valid, will provide a patch for the same.

  • When will Adobe Reader for Mobile Devices support 3D PDF files?

When will Adobe Reader for Mobile Devices support 3D PDF files?

There are two basic varieties of LiveCycle XFA...Static XFA and Dynamic XFA, which are very different in terms of their future for potential support in Adobe Reader for iOS. Which variety of XFA are you using?
Static XFA uses the PDF markup language for content and form fields, so users can view the documents in Adobe Reader for iOS, but we currently do not properly handle filling, saving, and submitting those forms. I have improving our handling of Static XFA on my roadmap, but cannot offer any specific date yet (sorry, policy plus actual uncertainty). I know that there are some other apps that partially support Static XFA, though I do not know how complete their support is. If you can even open the XFA document in Adobe Reader for iOS, it is likely Static XFA.
Dynamic XFA is effectively a JavaScript application packaged inside a PDF wrapper, which generates layout and form fields via code and requires a significant engine to support this. Support for Dynamic XFA is unfortunately not currently on our roadmap for iOS due to the nature of the technology, and our concern that any implementation we try likely will not pass Apple's restriction against installing something that allows other "apps" to be downloaded and executed from within it. The LiveCycle team is exploring solutions for our enterprise customers wanting to use Dynamic XFA from mobile devices as part of their server offering, but I cannot offer any insight here. To my knowledge, there are no applications that handle Dynamic XFA other than Adobe Reader for the desktop platforms (Windows, Mac, Linux).

  • Mediator dynamic routing

    Hi,
has anyone implemented mediator dynamic routing successfully (11.1.1.5)?
when trying to do it, none of the rules is selected, and when creating a function to test it on jdeveloper it returns an error :

    Hi,
How are you planning to design your composite ? Right now system B uses Version 1, so you will be adding transformation for Version2 to Version 1.Once your System B is upgraded then it will have to consume Version2 of xsd, for which you have to remove the transformation from mediator and update your webservice with schema 2. In that case you have to redeploy your code.
Are you planning to use BPEL after mediator, or directly you would be calling system B using mediator as standalone component?
How much differenc is between version 1 and version 2 schemas structure wise? Are both of them altogether different ?

As Hisaak mentioned, try routing option if you want to set URI dynamically. To use the dynamic route action, you need the fully qualified name of the service in Oracle Service Bus as described in http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E13159_01/osb/docs10gr3/userguide/modelingmessageflow.html#wp1081507

  • Dynamic Routing Gateway and ASA

    Greetings,
We have a requirement to configure a multisite gateway and have run into an issue. According to http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/azure/dn133793.aspx, dynamic routing gateways are not supported on the ASA platform. Does this simply mean that MS does
not support this configuration or that this configuration is not possible? I cannot negotiate an ikev2 proposal with a dynamic gateway so I fear that it isn't possible.
Has anyone here made this work?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hello
In the link you provided, the combination of ASA with dynamic routing says it is not compatible (it does not say not supported).
From that I understand that it will not work.
We have tried a few Juniper combinations in the past with static and dynamic routing that were not on the list you mention - only to find out that they indeed did not work.
My recommendation is to stick to the supported setup.

  • Dynamic routing through VPN on ASA

I have an environment with multiple remote offices connecting to the an ASA at the core. Currently we create seperate IPSec tunnels to each subnet that the remote office needs to connect to. We would like to enable dynamic routing to allow access to all the networks through one tunnel. The SOHO routers at the remote sites will support RIP V1 and V2. Can I enable RIP in my ASAs in a way that will propogate only the routes coming through the VPN tunnels? I can then redistribute them through EIGRP in my core routers.
    Thanks

    Erick,
I guess I fall into the hairpinning catagory. Playing with different traceroutes and pings I am going back out the internet via the default route for the concentrator and ASA. If I traceroute from my client back to a system on the inside there are four hops and they make sense. If I traceroute from the client to say google then I have about 16 hops and it does complete. I am now trying to figure out why HTTP to say google does not work. I am thinking that may be somethign up with my cloud firewall provider. That is what started this whole thing in the first place.
I was just wodering if there was a way to have the default route for just my Address pool point back towards the inside. I guess that would be a NAT to a new VLAN on the inside?

  • WRT54GS "Router Not Supported".

Hello.  I have a WRT54GS V.6.  I have had it for quite a long time, but just yesterday it stopped giving internet to its wired connection.  The wireless connection was working fine.  I reset the router (holding the button in for thirty seconds and planned on making a new network). Everytime now it tells me: "Router Not Supported".  I looked around the support here, and ended up downloading the firmware upgrade and upgraded the router, reset it once again, and tried once more.  Same problem.  "Router Not Supported".  The power light is on.  The WLAN light is on, the Ethernet Port 1 light is on, and the Internet light is blinking.  So it IS recieving the signals.  I don't understand what's wrong.  I have no internet connectivity through the router, either.
    Can someone help me?

Further browsing of the forums, and I came across this:
Step 1 : You should just connect the router to main wired computer from ( port 1,2,3,4). No need to connect the dsl modem in this step .
Step 2 : hard reset the router It seems that we will have to reset the device back to the factory defaults.
