Delorie Search Engine Simulator returns redirect

Hi all,
Please can I just say a big thanks to all who continue to answer my frightfully ignorant questions. I have never yet failed to resolve a problem with the help of these forums and am eternally grateful.
Now the problem...
When I use the delorie search engine simulator to view my website (www.danavideoproductions.co.uk), it says that the web server returns a redirect, and I imagine this will not be helping our rankings much.
I have asked my web hoster about this and they say it is because my links are incorrect, however iweb has generated all my links and in my ignorance when I use the view source function I cannot find where the problem is.
Any and all help gratefully received!

First, just a tip: Rather than posting your URL like this:
www.danavideoproductions.co.uk
...make it clickable by posting it like this:
http://www.danavideoproductions.co.uk

In this article: _SEO (Search Engine Optimization) For iWeb_, it says:
"One of the biggest problems with iWeb is the way it creates your navigation bars. Instead of using standard HTML which search engines can use to correctly find all files on your website, it uses Javascript which makes it extremely hard for search engines to scan and index your website properly."

  • All web browsers, search engines and apps redirect automatically to broken links.

    Hi, I have a big problem. When I browse internet, my iPhone redirect it automatically to different links. most of them are broken links. When I try to stop, web browser or app will be closed. This occur with every web browser, google and apps such as Facebook, WhatsApp, Viber, etc. Why is this ? If I try to open a weblink in a web browser or an app, it will open original link and then redirect to a different web address automatically. And it content nothing. I am confused. Please help.

    thanks orangekay for your input. i downloaded both onyx and cocktail and ran them both fully (not at the same time of course) and the problem still persists, pages are still rendering in glyphs. i went in and did the full system with every option checked. still no luck.
    also after running the two utilities i've run into a new glitch. when a dialog box appears my pointer slowly moves automatically to the default button that is highlighted. its really strange, i'm not sure if thats a feature or not, but i havent had time to explore the situation.
    so you believe it's a font problem? hmm...
    thanks for the input again, geese, i guess this topic isnt very common, i've ony gotten one response =T

  • Everytime I use google or another search engine, I am "redirected " to some place other than the site I selected!!!!!

    The place I am directed to is usually an area that I think is advertising and they want you to go to their choice websites. I don't want to go there. I want to go to the p[lace I selected!
    Thanks for any help you can give me.

    Sounds like your system might be infected by the Google Redirect Virus (which has nothing to do with Google). You'll find instructions here on how to remove it: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/virus-removal/remove-tdss-tdl3-alureon-rootkit-using-tdsskiller

  • Since the latest update for firefox, if I choose a link from a google search, it gets redirected to a totally different search engine

    If I type in a search into Google and select ANY of the links highlighted in blue, I get redirected to a totally different web search engine. This has never happened prior to the latest update of Firefox.

    Which search engine is it redirecting to?

  • 11g Search Index is returning duplicate entries

    We are building up our 11g environments in preparation for migrating over from 10g. In one of our env's (UAT), we have an issue where, if we do a search on a Metadata field or Full Text value, the search engine is returning duplicate results - i.e. each document is listed twice.
    I have done several full rebuilds, including one where I deleted the IdcColl1 folder before kicking it off. No luck at fixing the issue.
    The environment is configured for Full Text searching using Sql Server 2005.
    I am not worried so much about finding out why this is like it is, I just want to fix it because I am running short of time. Any ideas?
    Thanks,
    Alec

    Thanks for your suggestion. I tried the process you described and did a full Reindex (which took several hours). However, when I did the search again this morning, I am still getting the duplicates.
    I am now thinking of exporting all the content using Archiver, reindexing the empty environment and then chcking that the index is empty. This way I have aclean sheet to start with. I would then reimport the content and do another reindex. Hopefully then, the index should be clean. My suspision is that after I have done the export and reindex, that there will still be stuff in the index. Have to wait and see.....
    Cheers

  • How to remove Yahoo! search engine

    I have two yahoo search engines appearing in the search box menu. One is Yahoo and the other is Yahoo! (with the explanation mark). It appears the Yahoo! has hijacked my browser as I am unable to remove it by using the manage search engine option. While it appears to be removed, when I close Firefox I get a message that says a program blocked its removal. Please tell me what I need to do to remove this bogus search engine as it redirects me to what appear to be legit Yahoo pages saying words that I never typed could not be found. Interestingly, the redirects do not occur for all websites I visit.
    Thanks, Tony

    Use most or all of the listed programs. Each works differently.
    If one program misses something, another may catch it.
    Sometimes a problem with Firefox may be a result of malware installed on your computer, that you may not be aware of.
    You can try these free programs to scan for malware, which work with your existing antivirus software:

    Once you have obtained an external drive and connected it you will 'clone' your internal drive to it.
    Download Carbon Copy Cloner (it is not free but there is a fully functional trial version which is). Use it to clone your internal drive to your external drive. When that is done you will reboot from the clone and use Disk Utility to erase the internal drive (choose Mac OS Extended (Journaled)) as the format (this is normally preset, but check). Make sure to give the external drive a 'distinctive' name, don't want to get drives mixed up in this process.
    Once that is done you will use Carbon Copy Cloner (from the clone) to restore the external to the internal.

  • When i use a search engine like google, yahoo, etc., when I click on the link I am immediately redirected to a different site. How to I prevent this?

    when i use a search engine like google, yahoo, etc., when I click on the link, I am immediately redirected to another site. Many times I must hit "back", and click on the link again. Sometimes I am redirected again to another and different site. If I go back again and re-click, it will then take me to the link that is listed.

  • Everytime I click on a website I searched for it redirects me to either pebble search engine or scour search engine. How do I fix this?

    Whenever I search for a website and click on it I get redirected to a different search engine.

    This sounds like it could be the result of malware on the computer. Please see [[Is my Firefox problem a result of malware]] for help.

  • Redirect - "Search Engine Friendly"

    <%
    Response.Status="301 Moved Permanently";
    Response.AddHeader("Location","
    http://www.moreproductinfo.com/index.asp");
    %>
    Was looking at a site that had the above code as a
    recommendation to add
    to a page to "correctly" pass on information to search
    engines.
    I thought it should go with my redirect but I end up with
    errors in ASP
    <%
    If Request.Querystring() = "" Then
    Response.Redirect("index.asp")
    Response.Status="301 Moved Permanently";
    Response.AddHeader("Location","
    http://www.new-url.com/");
    End If
    %>
    This is what the actual redirect looks like... It looked
    right to me but
    it comes up with errors:
    Microsoft VBScript compilation error '800a0401'
    Expected end of statement
    /1.asp, line 262
    Response.Status="301 Moved Permanently";
    ---------------------------------------^
    Any ideas how this should be implemented? Do I put it on the
    page I'm
    redirecting from or to? Where on the page, does it matter?
    Formatting?

    yeah, you don't need the brackets :
    <%@ Language=VBScript %>
    <%
    Response.Status="301 Moved Permanently"
    Response.AddHeader "Location", "
    http://www.mysite.com/new-page.asp"
    %>

  • When I use a search engine in Firefox, the links redirect me to some spam, and not the site the search engine found.

    When I use a search engine in Firefox, whether it be google, or Yahoo, the links found by the search engine, re-direct me somewhere else. For instance when I searched for Places to Buy PC Games. www.gamestop.com popped up. When I clicked the link, it took me to some laptop hardware site. But if I type in the url for Gamestop, it takes me to their website. This has happened for several searches, several different links. I tried Internet Explorer thinking it may be a problem with the search engines. But IE is working fine for this.

    This type of behaviour can be caused by malware. Try running several malware scanners. It is best to run several as each will pick up things that the others miss. Some scanners you can try are:
    * [http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam.php Malwarebytes]
    * [http://www.superantispyware.com/ SUPERAntiSpyware]
    * [http://www.lavasoft.com/products/ad_aware_free.php Ad-Aware]
    * [http://www.microsoft.com/windows/products/winfamily/defender/default.mspx Windows Defender]
    * [http://www.safer-networking.org/en/home/index.html Spybot S&D]
    This site may also be of use - http://deletemalware.blogspot.com/2010/02/remove-google-redirect-virus.html
    If the above malware scanners do not find any malware or can not clear it, you should consider posting in one of these forums for specialized malware removal help:

  • When using the google search button my queries are always redirected to another site, and not google as indicated as my preferred search engine.

    I have to open up an Internet Explorer browser when I try to to a search for anything. Even though I've selected google as my default search engine, I still get redirected to some random site. It's useless. I would like to use Firefox all the time, but I cannot do so.

    Do a malware check with some malware scan programs. You need to scan with all programs because each program detects different malware. Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of the database before doing a scan.

    Dee....
    It's not a virus.
    Your ISP (Internet Service Provider) is redirecting your browser. Use Open DNS to avoid that. Open DNS adds security and anti phishing filters and it's free.
    Open System Preferences / Preferences then select the Network tab. Click the Advanced tab then click the DNS tab.
    Click +
    Enter these numbers exactly as you see them here.
    208.67.222.222
    Click +
    208.67.220.220
    Then click OK.
