Delphi 2007 and CR 2008

Hello everyone,
This is my first post on Business Objects forum...
I would like to know if there is a way to use CR2008 in Delphi 2007.
I have read that the RDC is not available for CR2008 but only for the XI release 2.
Thanks in advance for your reply...

That's correct RDC was deprecated with XI Release 2, and is not included with CR 2008.
RDC remains supported for use with XI Release 2.
Sincerely,
Ted Ueda

  • Sharepoint 2007 and SQL 2008 SP3 on Windows Server 2008 Enterprise SP2 (64-bit)

Is there any documentation we can check if SQL 2008 SP3 is compatible with Sharepoint 2007 SP2 or SP3? Both Sharepoint and SQL servers are running on separate Virtual machines (Windows Server 2008 Enterprise SP2(64-bit)). Currently DB is running on
SQL server 2008 SP2, and we would like to have SP3 loaded on it, but want to find if there is any compatibility issue?
    Thanks in advance!

I'm not aware of any known issues with SQL Server 2008 SP3 and SharePoint 2007. I did a quick check and saw one person reporting an issue with their Central Admin site after applying the SQL Server update, but that's it.
With that being said, I would strongly encourage you to test out the application of that SQL Server service pack in a non-production environment well before you apply it in production. There is always a chance that your environment has something set up in
it that would cause an unexpected issue, and the best way to get an idea of whether or not an issue exists is by doing it somewhere else first before you do it in prod.

There is no VCL or COM for CR 2008. You will need to move to .NET to use CR 2008 or go back to XI for VCL/RDC.

    Hello everyone,
I would like to ask if there is any way to use Crystal Reports 2008 with Delphi 2007.
This VCL11 is compatible with Delphi 7 and crystal XI, but exists  any other ways to use CR2008, with Delphi 2007.
    Thanks a Lot.

  • Crystal Report 2008 Deployment - Delphi 2007 application

    Hi,
I have got Crystal Report 2008 and developed some reports using them.
I had integrated these reports with a Delphi 2007 application. My application works fine on my box where I have installed CR2008.
Please note - the previous version of Crystal report i used with my application was 5.
I also identified CR_runtime 2008- most of the dll's inside win32_x86 directory and tried to package and created installer of my application. I deployed my application on another box and what I noticed is it gives me OpenEngine error. Copying required dll's doesn't solves problem as I feel there is a need for registry variables too, but not sure of how to go about it.
Is it that I need CR208 , the whole Business objects installed on all deploymnet boxes? If then i need to get licensed copies?
Or is it ok I can download just the CR2008 runtime and install on the deployment boxes.
My application is a standalone application and it just uses to view the reports already created- picking values from the database.
Can I use CR_runtime installer  - free trial and deploy on the other boxes and use my application so to view the already created reports.
Please help - I am stuck as how to package my application so users can view the report.
    Thanks in Advance,
    Shruthi

    Hi Jonathan,
Thanks so much... for the reply .
I had downloaded CR runtime - msi file and tried for deployment on my deployment box. But it asks for the product key while installing.
If I  had to do this on all of my customer boxes, then can I use the same product key/license code? or the free time trial version - license code that comes with a CR runtime trial setup.
Or should I purchase license for deploying the runtime or  msi to all boxes?
Please let me know what should I do......
    Thanks in advance,
    ~shruthi

  • Removing Exchange 2007 from SBS 2008 (In an Exchange 2010 Coexistance Scenario) - In order to remove 2007 Mailbox Objects from Active Directory and remove the SBS2008 server completely

I'm trying to remove Exchange 2007 from an SBS 2008 server
(Server 2008 Standard FE).  My ultimate goal is to completely remove the SBS 2008 Server from the network environment.
We have an Exchange 2010 Coexistence Scenario and Mailboxes/Public Folders/etc have been moved over to the 2010 mail server, on Server 2008 R2.
I have moved all Shares, FSMO roles, DHCP, DNS, etc over to their respective servers.  We have two full blown DC's in the environment.
I'm ready to remove Exchange 2007 from SBS 2008 and DCPROMO the server.  I can NOT seem to find a TechNet article that shows me how
to proceed in this kind of scenario.  I am trying to use the TechNet article:
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd728003(v=ws.10).aspx
This article references Disabling Mailboxes, Removing OAB, Removing Public Folder Databases, then uninstalling Exchange using the Setup Wizard.
When I go to Disable Mailboxes I get the following error:
    Microsoft Exchange Error
Action 'Disable' could not be performed on object 'Username (edited)'.
    Username (edited)
    Failed
    Error:
Object cannot be saved because its ExchangeVersion property is 0.10 (14.0.100.0), which is not supported by the current version 0.1 (8.0.535.0). You will need a later version of Exchange.
    OK
I really don't see why I need to Disable Mailboxes, Remove OAB and Public Folder Databases since they have been moved to 2010.  I just want
to remove Exchange 2007 and DCPROMO this server (actually I just want to remove any lingering Exchange AD Objects referring to the SBS 2008 Server, using the easiest and cleanest method possible).
Can someone point me in the right direction?
    Thanks!

    Hi,
Based on your description, it seems that you are in a migration process (migrate SBS 2008 to Windows Server
2008 R2). Now, you want to remove Exchange Server and demote server. If anything I misunderstand, please don’t hesitate to let me know.
On current situation, please refer to following articles and check if can help you.
    Transition
from Small Business Server to Standard Windows Server
    Removing SBS 2008 –
    Step 1: Exchange 2007
    Removing SBS 2008 – Step 2:
    ADCS
    Removing
SBS 2008 – Step 3: remove from domain / DCPROMO

  • Crystal and delphi 2007

I have been using crystal on and off throughout the years, using the VCL.  In my current position, I am once again called to use crystal in the application.
To my surprise and dismay, it seems that there is no longer support for the delphi vcl.  While this make no sense, since delphi programmers have been working with crystal vcl since about the beginning of time, I am also having difficulty finding any information on how I am supposed to continue using delphi and crystal together?
I have seen several articles on how to use it with visual studio.  I have NOT seen any articles on how to make it work with Delphi.
Are there any articles/step by steps to import any type of library into Delphi 2007?  In less than a year, I will also need instructions on how to make it work with delphi 2009.
I have attempted to use the VCL for XI, and there are instructions on how to update it to work with XII, but since there will then be, at some point, a version XIII, I need a permanent solution.
I do not need to design the report in my application, I just need to
    a) Using MSSQL server (or express), be able to change the database, since each site gets to make up it's own database name
    b) run a report.
    c) run a report with parameters set in the program.
Granted, it has been 5 years since I've had to do this, but I am seriously disappointed in the lack of support for long time Delphi users, and even more so with the lack of transitional examples.

    1) Update the CR XI VCL as per the link I gave
I tried that first, before posting to the forum.  I cannot change the connection settings.  I don't get an error, the settings just don't change.
    2) See if you can incorporate the CR assemblies for .NET into Delphi as per the doc I attached in the 1st post: Delphi 2005 updating assemblies.doc.
    I attempted to do that.
I do not get the option to create a new windows forms application, I can only do asp.net and vcl forms application.
The installed .net components do not list anything from crystal or business objects.
I added crystaldecisions.windows.forms.dll into delphi, (Components |Installed .net components | add assembly - add Crystal\Common\4.0\Managed\dotnet2\) but cannot get it to show up on the palette, no matter which type of project I create (asp.net or vcl forms)

  • Depreciation run not posted for 2006/2007 and 2008.

    Hi,
I have a situation where depreciation has not been posted for 2006,2007 and 2008.
Now since there are 2 fiscal years already open the system does not allow to post to the 2008. since only 2 fiscal years can be open at a time.
Old periods cannot be opened to post depreciation.
I feel the only way out is to assign a new depreciation area?
Is it possible to change the Chart of Depreciation or active (posted to) depreciation area?
    Any suggestions.
    Thanks,
    Daksha

    Hi
If your 2007 is open then post the depreciation thru AFAB with unplanned posting run, after completing it you can close the periods & open 2008
    Hope this solves your issue

I have an HP-Pavilion Vista PC with MS Office 2007 and Service Pack 2.  Each time I try to save a Word or Excel document I get the “Not Responding” message.  The “Word is saving……” bar at the bottom does not show any progress.  On clicking the document I get a faded version even when in Safe Mode.  Somehow the document appears on the Desktop where I tried to save it.  On trying to open the saved document, even as administrator, I get the following ”File in Use” message:
“The ….docx is locked for editing by….” and I am asked three questions including:
“Do you want to open a Read Only copy” yet on clicking “Yes” I am able to edit the same document.
On trying to save to a different location I get the message:
“Your autocorrect file MSO 1033.ad could not be saved. The file may be read only or you may not have permission to modify this file.”
The same message stating FILE12\1033\MSO.ACL MSO 1033ad recurs with new Excel documents.
How can I correct this problem?
    PS
Worse still, the HP Advisor icon that appears on startup does not load successfully while showing the message: “Access to the path Hewlett-Packard\HD Advisor is denied”.
What can I do about it?

I'm having the same issue, allowing guest access on the share did change the logs I'm getting in Samba. Earlier on it was giving errors on the inability of guest access to the share.

  • Migrating from Outlook 2007 to Entourage 2008

15 days ago, I bought my first Mac after a 12-year gap. I have been trying to get my information from Outlook 2007 into Entourage 2008 without any luck. I've google'd and found that there are indirect paths only. (via mbox).
My E08 refuses to recognize the mbox files. After renaming my Inbox files as Inbox.mbox, they show up as E08 files (with the E08 icons). But I cannot open them in E08. When I go the File, Import method in E08, all mbox files are grayed out and I cannot select any of them.
I've installed Thunderbird on my Mac and got all the files into Thunderbird from my Win PC. Apple Mail crashes consistently when I try to import from Apple Mail.
Total file size is 5+ GB with 30 folders. Any ideas on what I may be doing wrong.

Here is a long pending update on how I got my OL2007 data into E2008.
    On the PC:
    1. Setup Gmail Imap in OL2007. (I used my Gmail account for this purpose. Go into Gmail and search for "Outlook Imap setup")
ENSURE ENTOURAGE IS NOT RUNNING ON THE MAC.
    2. Drag and drop each sub-folder from the Inbox into the Inbox of the Gmail Imap folder.
    3. Depending on the size of the sub-folder and attachment, it makes take a few minutes to a couple of hours.
    On the Mac:
    4. Setup the Gmail Imap folders in Entourage too. (again refer Gmail help section).
    SHUTDOWN OL2007 ON THE PC
    5. Drag and drop the subfolder you created in step 2 onto your Entourage Inbox. (because this is a "download", it might work faster).
    6. After step 5 is complete, quit Entourage.
    7. Back to your PC, start OL2007.
    8. Drag and drop the sub-folder from Gmail into the OL2007 Inbox. (this step is required if you want to preserve all the data on OL2007).
    9. Repeat for other folders present on your OL2007.
This process is excruciatingly slow and painful, but it did get me all my data, attachments, preserved the links intact and organized it according to categories. For categories, ensure that you create the same categories as your OL2007 on E2008.
    Good luck.

Check that your computer is compatible with Mountain Lion.
To check the model number hold down the option/alt key, go to the Apple menu and select System Information.
iMac (Mid 2007 or newer) model number 7,1 or higher
MacBook (Late 2008 Aluminum, or Early 2009 or newer) model number 5,1 or higher

    Your Mac needs:
OS X v10.6.8 or OS X Lion already installed
2 GB or more of memory
8 GB or more of available space
What gumsie posted is correct - if it is't compatible, normally it won't download.

  • MIGO IN 2007 - MIRO in 2008 - WBS budget problem

    Hi,
I have the folowin situation. GR was done on a PO with WBS using 2007's budget. A few days later invoice arrives (2008), MIRO is used but system displays error about WBS budget for 2008. Of course the invoice budget of the WBS is in 2007 not in 2008.
How can I fix this without posting the invoice in 2007, or reversing GR and rerunning it on 2008 ?.
    Thanks in advance.
