Delta datasource management in process chain

Hi experts,
I have the following problem with process chains.
I have one Delta infosource used to load two different infoproviders (ODS1 and 2).ODS 2 must be loaded only once ODS 1 is loaded and activated. The Delta process implies that the 2 ODS are datatarget for the delta infopackage.
In my process chain, I have :
'execute infopackage IFPCK1'
(with 'only PSA' option and of course the two datatargets ODS1 and ODS 2 selected)
then a first
'Read PSA and charge datatarget process'
(with options : datatarget = ODS 1, execute infopackage IFPCK1)
followed by
'Activate ODS' ODS 1
then a second
'Read PSA and charge datatarget process'
(with options : datatarget = ODS 2, execute infopackage IFPCK1)
Each time, I run the Process chain, I have the following message for ODS 2
"the request (ODS1) already exists in infocube/ODS; Not loaded."
It is as if the first Read PSA process tries to load both ODS instead of only one.
Any suggestion to help me slve this problem ??

Hi Daniel,
unfortunately there is no easy way around this. I would suggest to create an ODS 3 as exact copy of the info source and load ODS 1 and 3 in parallel and then ODS 2 from ODS 3.

IS the process type "delta infopackage " is executing in the process chain or not? Plz once check in SM37 Tcode . and Why r u running the repair full request infopackage . If u miss any delta records then only u have to run the repair full request . If delta records are not extracted then better to manually extract the delta infopackage.
Plz once check in SM37 Tcode whether the execute infopackage process step is running or not? or any error has occured in that PC.

Delta and Full load Process Chain

Hi Guru`s,
I have a one standard target (infocube) which is fetching data from the 3 datasources. Out of 3 datasources 2 are standard datasources and 1 is Generic datasource (Custom datasource).
These 2 standard datasources have Delta load and Generic datasource have full load.
I have to design the process chain by using Full load and Delta load.
Can any body tell me how could I achieve this requirement.

Delta load problem in process chain

Hi,
I have ODS givng data to another ODS. The init of this flow was done manually...Now i have created process chain in which further processing has variant as "execute infopackage" as the delta package made .. now when i check this process chain its giving me error ""Delete init. request
REQU_49LKNGG0SE5966D3S7SQYYDQX before running
init. again with same selection"" .. Actually this is not the Init req which i ran manually..this is the req which was run when i ran this process chain... what shld i do to add only delta IP in process chain so that i dnt ve to delete init

hi,
first load all the init loads from the ods to cube. then u have to create the delta infopack and include that in the chain.
create the int info pack under the infosource 8<ods name>
trigger that infopack, create the delta infopack under the 8<odsname> infosource , and you have include that in the PC.
Please do changes in your process chain.
Local chain 1 - start -> load to ods -> activation of ods ->further processing(remove the infopack in this process maintain variant).
Lcoal chain 2 - start -> delete index ->load delta to cube -> create index -> roll up (if needed)
Main chain -> start -> local chain 1 ->local chain2

Error in delta run in the process chain

Hello Experts,
I have a delta infopackge that runs everyday , since many days the process chain is giving error at the IP.
The IP is red everyday and the following objects does not start, however when I check in the monitor the ip is completed successfully without any errors.
I checked the logs which is in greeen in the batch job , please find the details below.

the problem was with the way it was schudled, the chian was ticket at periodic run , as a result it as running automatically, and causing problem.
I have removed the periodic n saved it again ...the error stopped appearing !
The issue is resolved now.

Initialization of delta loads possible with process chain?

hello all,
followed situation:
i load data from file and sap extractor to ods 1. from this ods i have an automatic delta load to another ods 2, where the data are filtered and aggregated.
its possible that some of the data change their state from filtered out to in but are not in ods 2 because of the earlier criterias they had have. now i want a weekly load (initial load) from ods 1 to ods 2 and a daily delta load if new data arrived ods 1 to the no 2.
i tried to create a process chain for that but i cant! i cannot use the info package for the initialization of the load from ods 1 to 2 because it is generated info package. and if i use the process "update ods object data" there is always tried to make a delta load! at first step i delete all data of ods 2, so i need an initialization with data as next step.
how can i do what i want?

ok, i understand but i dont know how...
The only way i know to create an InfoPackage between ODS is to use "Update ODS Data in Data Target" of the context menu of an ODS. Then i chose between full/delta/init load and the infopackage will be generated. How else can i create it?

How to manage the "no data" loading in process chain

Hi,
I want to load some master data in delta mode with a process chain. The treatment works good except in one case.
If I have no data selected during the extraction ( cause the system doesn't find any data matching with the delta field ), the process chain appears in red as if some problems was encountered instead of giving a traffic light green.
How is it possible to manage this case of treatment as a normal treatment ?

Using Settings -> Evaluation of Requests ->
if no data is available in the system, the request
select Green (is Judged to be successful). this will cause the load to be successful if Zero records are fetched and the Process chain will not fail.

Delta loading and Process chain BI

Hi experts,
Two Issues.
1)As i am loading FI data into dso through a process chain which includes Start process>Delta infopackage(which gets data upto psa)>Delta dtp-->Datastore activation.
But infopackage is picking up deltas but DTP is picking up all the previous records plus deltas.
100 records -- 1st day throught Intialization of Delta with Data Transfer
2 delta records -- 2nd day
But DTP is picking up 102 Records on the 2nd Day, which means it is also picking the old records as well.
The DSO must have just 102 records but it is having 202 records.
2) A process chain in running daily as scheduled , but I rescheduled with new scheduling options without deactivating the Process chain.
My Question is
Will the Process chain run for the OLD and the New Schedule or
Is it going to run for new schedule or old one?
or
will I face any Problem because I did not deactivate and made changes to the Change.
Please help me in this matter.

First query:
I believe that u have used FUll update type DTP is instead of the Delta DTP.. Please cross check the Update mode of the DTP once.
To resolve this issue, delete the total content of the DSO as u have Init and delta loads in PSA. And then using the Delta DTP of the Process chain, load the data. It will extract the total cotent what ever is there in PSA, and later the same DTP will act as the Delta type and will pick the data from the New request of the PSA.
Second Query:
Its always suggested to deschedule the process chain before changing the schedule timings. When ever u do this type of scheduling, just check how many number of JObs available in Schedule mode, if u can see more than one, then delete the older one and keep the new one as it is.
But I always suggest you to deschedule the process chain and reschedule PC with the new timings and then activate the same.

Making Process Chains for Objects - 3.5 DataSources

Hi. I'm trying to configure all my process chains to load every object in my model.
I need to delete the PSA, only to mantain data for the last week for Master Data and Transactional Data.
The problem is when I make the chain for my Hierarchy, which is in 3.5 version.
I think I can't have my hierarchy in 7.0 version so, the question would be:
Do you suggest to configure the deletion of the PSA in the chain for the hierarchy?
I don't know how to do it because I couldn't find the PSA table for the hierarchy.
Which would be the best way to control the loading of data in 3.5 DataSources using the process chain?

Yes, you can't have hierarchy DS in BI 7.0 version, Hierarchy is loaded using 3.x DS. I think you can go ahead for PSA request deletion in hierarchy.

Double click on the Data source and from tool bar select the PSA icon in the next popup you will see the name of PSA on top left corner. Or in the PSA request deletion process you can directly use the Infopackage technical name.

Red Light, followed by successful deltas in Process chain

Hello,
I have a DELTA dataload the runs in the AM and then again in the PM. This occurs every day.
2 days ago the load Red lighted. It loads to an ODS. I didn't notice this redlight and the chain kept running. So the subsequent loads were successful, but not activated.
In this case, would the next Delta load that the process chain run automatically be a 'REPEAT' delta?
In which case I can manually force the Total status of the failed load to red and delete from the ODS, and then activate the unactivated successful loads?

Hello Reetu,
I checked the "Type of Data Update" column in the ODS, and it does not indicate "Repeat Last Delta".
The Failed Data load, did not have any records transferred or added to the ODS. Also this ODS does not update to any furthur data target.
Because the Failed data load did not have any records transferred or added, is a repeat necessary or can I simply delete that load and activate the subsequent loads?

Delta Problem in process chain

the case is this: i have an ODS "A", like source of a Datamart to 2 Infoprovider "B" , "C", i wanted separate them in 2 differents DELTA , they were before in the same InfoPackage Delta but now i need them separate, when i separate them in two Infopackage DELTA in the same process chain , occurred an error just loaded one of 2 infoprovider of the data mart, when i check the ODS source "A" says it sent a Delta Load and is no more deltas to others infoproviders, i means it not recognize the 2 infoproviders

Process Chain - How to make decision based on data in PSA and execute DTP

Need to create process in Process Chain, which will execute the DTP based on data in PSA.
Say we have two DSO A & B, both getting data from same datasource.
In process chain, we need to read data in one of the date field in PSA and make a decision, which DTP to get execute in process chain.
Say if date field contains year = 2000, than load to DSO A, if year is 2001, load data to DSO B.

ABAP report to read PSA data using function module
Trigger events based on year
event1 -> for even year data
event2 -> for add year data
2) Develop local process chains for each DTPs and schdule it with events mentioned above.

Thats correct, you can copy an existing process chain and you will get all the variants in it.
well, the best practice to manually do the INIT loads and let the delta loads be in process chain.
we delete indexes and re create them when we are loading an infocube and the reason is performance

Hi ,
you would not be needed to run all Init info packages everyday . You would run Init only when any delta breaks up in any specific data target. In this case having a process chain which contains init for all data targets would not be useful . Manually doing init is best option here.
In case of any implementation going on where all data targets have to be initialized before loading the delta having a seperate process chain only for Init would be of great help.
Please let know what is your scenario here.
