Delta from an Export DS

Hi,
I am extracting data into a 7.0 system from Export Datasources based on Cubes and ODS objects in a 3.5 system. A couple of questions:
1. Are all the export datasources delta capable? What kind of delta do they provide. The ROOSOURCE table gives the delta type as only ODS or Cube (not AIM AIE etc)
2.Is there anywhere I can see the delta que for these data sources?

Thanks for the points. Pardon me if you have explained this, i am just wondering your landscape is:
BW 3.5 system -> BI 7.0 where the two systems are separate instances, e.g. different servers and use data source replication to get all datasource across, etc. Running rsa7 in the 3.5 system should show.
or
BW 3.5 system -> BI 7.0 and the two are the same instance, e.g. you have manually created an export datasource for a cube (data mart feature), and the datasource is 3.5 version (can be migrated to 7.0), in this case, you might wanna run rsa7 in BI 7.0 system. Just wondering if you migrate 3.5 version of datasource to 7.0, you can then use DTP, in this scenario, you don't need two separate infopackages each delta initialisation and delta.

After image delta from cube to OHD..

Hi All,
I would like to pick you brains for an issue I am currently facing. There is one requirement that requires us to send delta data in the form of After image to an OHD file from a cube.
The issue is when we get delta data from the cube, we are getting only the additive values. My understanding is that this delta is the aggregation of the Before and After image delta values from the underlying dso.
My issues are:
1. Is there a way of getting the after image delta values from the cube?
2. I do not want to read from the underlying dsos because, some calculations are performed when loading the cubes. Also, the data required is in aggregated on year level. So if we take the data from the dso, which is in day level, we would have to do aggregation manually.

Let me give the more detailed scenario..
I have 4 GL cubes whose delta values are required to be exported. They want the delta values to reflect the "As Is",
So for instance we have the following on Day 1:
GL Acc 0Amount
10001 100
The next day, 0Amount(Aggregation mode: Sum) gets an addition of 100, they want to see the following
GL Acc 0Amount
10001 200
These 4 GL Cubes have about 5 common underlying DSOs.
The issues here is:
- If we read the delta directy from Cubes we are getting the addiditive values: in this case +100
- If we read the delta from DSOs, from my understanding we should perform aggregation manually. Since the client wants to view the data by Year instead of by Day which is how it exists in the DSO.
- Another issue here is: The clients require us to send a SINGLE file. Hence we need a way of appending the Data from multiple InfoProviders to a single file.
Our Proposed Solution:
- Read from underlying DSOs. and store in a intermediate Write - Optimized DSO.
- Perfrom manual aggregation by using ABAP.
- Send delta values to OHD filtering out the before image(ORecordMode = 'X')
Issues:
Need to perform manual aggregation which may be an issue because the volume can be large.(Currently we can not predict the volume.)
Plus Any other issues that you can foresee?

Recovering from an export

Hello . . . let me start by saying that I had nothing to do with getting into this situation--I'm just trying to clean up after it.
Let's say that all you have of your 9024 database is a full export. Not a full backup, just a sys level export. Don't even know what tablespace names were in the db. Then your database gets hosed.
Running htmldb 10404. What would you recommend to get back your applications? (skip to ******* to see what I am considering)
I first tried to just import the flows_010404 schema into a 10.1 database, but I got a lot of errors doing that. Not exactly sure why, but I did. Will likely go back to that approach, though.
Even though I got the errors, it seemed as if all of the tables and data made it in (but not a lot of the other objects). Not certain, but I thought I would try the following:
1. Installed htmldb 010500 into the db using companion CD
2. Thought I would be able to run an upgrade script to upgrade from a previous version, but nooooo, there is no upgrade to 010500, I have to export and then import. Of course, I can't export, because I don't really have the freakin' schema.
3. thought maybe, just maybe, I could run
exec FLOWS_010500.wwv_flow_upgrade.switch_schemas('FLOWS_010500','FLOWS_010404');
and switch to the 010404 schema and work out an export. nope. Like I said, the schema just isn't right.
So . . .
I'm thinking about doing this:
1. install version 010404 into a 9.2 database (just like it was when it was exported). This will give me a nice fresh 010404 instance.
2. disable all triggers on all tables in the 010404 schema
3. trunc every table
4. import the 010404 schema from the export
5. enable all the triggers
6. Then try to log in and do a flows export of the stuff. Take that export over to my 010500 instance in the 10g db and try an import.
What do you think???

thanks. this worked! the one thing is that the import naturally imports the encrypted passwords. There was one problem that the passwords went through a character set conversion, so I no longer new them. With a little help from Sergio (drat! I should have been ale to figure it out on my own!) I worked that out.

IMPORT a VIEW from an export dump file

I'm trying to import a view from an export dump file. In using the Import Utility, do I use the TABLE parameter and give the View name ie: TABLES=view1

Only I want to do is import ONE view from an export dmp file that contains hundereds of table, many views and procedures. I do not want to reimport everything from the export file.

Is it Possible to Exclude Documents from Portal Export ?

Hello,
In preparation for upgrading from Portal 9.0.4.3 (Release 1) to the latest portal version, we need to Export from a PROD Portal instance and import into a TEST portal instance. I plan to use separate transport sets for a Pagegroup and Providers. The Pagegroup has ~50 GB of documents in it.
The problem is that I don't have the Disk space on the PROD machine to export to the transport tables or on the TEST machine for the import or the merge. Is there some way to exclude the Documents (BLOBS in WWDOC_DOCUMENT$) from an export? I do want export/import all of the pages in the pagegroup.

It can't be deleted. Only restricted. Check in Settings > General > Restrictions, make sure Installing Apps did not get turned off.

Where are you loading the data ( Cube Or ODS). I think better if you load into ODS and then to Cube or use Data Mart. But if you want to control the delta from SQL Server itself then i doubt if i know any way to do that.
Experts , please throw your thoughts to do this.

Omit text objects from Excel export?

The Details section of my report contains data fields as well as some text objects (serving as labels - it doesn't have a horizontal, spreadsheet-style layout). I want to export the report's data to Excel, but I don't want the text objects. Is there a way I can omit them from the export?

A standard approach is to right click the details anbd select insert section below.
Now place the fields you DO want exported in the details B section.
Now create a boolean parameter such as "Export only?" and in the suppression for the details sections A and B code accordingly, as in:
{?Export only}
and in the Details B:
not({?Export only})
Now the fiedls required will be displayed/exported when you're exporting, otherwise it will display all of the fields.

Short Dump while loading Delta from ODS to ODS

I have run into a short dump error while loading delta from one ODS to another via a process chain.

Check the status of request SID 259294 in ODS, whether the Activation got completed or not. If not wait till the activation completes.
If there is any problem in the activation process, correct that complete the activation process and load the ne request that you want to load..

Limit report from being exported to excel

We have a report that we do not want to be able to be exported to excel. Is there a way, just on one report to limit the types it is exported toDBA

As Pete mentioned, by default, we can only disable Excel Render Extension for the server.
However, a possible workaround to disable Excel Render Extension for a simply report is using JavaScript to remove the Excel option from the export formats list.
Please follow these steps to do so:
1.       Go to the physical folder of the Report Manager.
By default, the folder is:
C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL.3\Reporting Services\ReportManager
2.       Please open the folder “Pages”
3.       Open the file “Report.aspx” with notepad.
4.       Embed the following JavaScript at the end of the file.

HT4718 After burning a slideshow from iPhoto export to a DVD, it will not play on my DVD player OS X 10.9.4

iMac 27' OS X 10.9.4 I burned a slideshow from iPhoto export to a DVD and now it will not play back on anything. The player said Unknown disc. What can i do?

I do find that using one of these programs will reduce the sharpness of the photos.
Granted, I've never used iPhoto - I use Photo to Movie for slideshows and various versions of iMovie for videos, but my pics are excellent quality and my videos are shot in 1080p (better camera) or 720p (small camera) and the results are superb on my TV using both iDVD and Toast. However, I do not encode in iDVD, I simply use it to add a theme and menus. The encoding is done by Photo to Movie, or iMovie 06 HD (the only version ever to process losslessly) and either/both are imported into iDVD as a complete .mov, or Toast.
Since using those methods, I've never had a problem with the sharpness or crispness of my footage. My eyes cannot discern a difference between my "production" and true HD (unless of course I shook the camera while shooting, LOL).

Import selected business area from an exported EUL file

We cannot import a specific business area from the exported file as the file is combo of all BA's in .eex format.
Instead before exporting process,i.e when going through the export wizard you can select specific business area required and then import it.Hope this helps you.

Hello Satya,
I don't think you can not do this using a Write-optimized ODS as a target. Using that requires that keys for the data you load are unique. You may try to perform a selective deletion on the write optimized ODS first before you load the data for the current year again.
Extracting "Delta" from a cube is possible per request id basis. This means that during delta loads from a cube (to any target for that matter), the request ids which weren't loaded from the last delta load are the ones being extracted from the cube.

Problem in updating delta from cube to cube

Dear experts,
I created an delta upload from CUBE A to Cube B. I initialised it yesterday and did my first update. Today I did the second update from Cube A to B.
But then i found there were some problem in my CUBE A. After I reload data into Cube a. I would like to redo the delta.
I deleted the request of update load of today in CUBE B. And relauch the infopackage. But there was error message. System said the data is not coherent between datasource and target.
What could be the problem?

So u want to reload delta from Cube A to Cube B right?
The load is successful in Cube A?
Then u need to reset the delta mart and force the request to red in cube B and delete the delta request from cube B and then retrigger the delta load
