Delta selection question

Hi guys,
This is a concept question and must be obvious to most people but I thought I will confirm that.
If a datasource allows selection option which is delta enabled, I select a certain set of data from a delta. (Ex. I use company code US10 for selection records which has company code US10, US20, US30, US40). Now for the next set of delta, only those records which are new or have changed will be available. In a situation where I want to bring records from pervious delta with company code US20 what should I do.

Hi....ok .... a very simple example.....if you have company code US10 and make an init then you would bring the old data for US10 company to the moment and no other companies...the you can make delta loads and you would have the new records for US10...then after a few months you want to load US20 deltas ... then...you need to make an initialization for US20 only...in that moment you would bring tha data for US20 to the moment...after that the delta load changes automatically (when you load delta you dont set parameters, they are taken from initialization parameters) then the delta brings automatically data from US10 and US20 ...and every delta you load you would bring data from both at the same time

MSI K7N2 Delta ILSR Questions & RAID Promise FastTrak Controller Issue

I have recently rebuilt my system replacing the MSI KT3 with an MSI K7N2 Delta. I have been impressed with the features and stability of the system, however, I have some questions that I hope some of you that have more experience of this board can answer:
1. I am using the AMD Athlon XP 2200 (and all the other components including the Lian Li case) which I was using on the KT3 board. The CPU temperature is around 45 degrees C but on the KT3 it was only 35 degrees C when idle. Any ideas ? The heatsink is definetly mounted properly. The temperature did drop by 10 degrees C when I flashed the
BIOS to fix the known CPU temperature issue but I think its still high.
2. I do not have any serial ATA devices or anything connected to IDE3 channel and during the BIOS boot up I get the message:
"No drives attached to FastTrak Controller. Bios Not installed."
Is this correct ? Should I be getting this message ?
I would like to disable the onboard Promise Controller since it is taking up resources and it slows down the boot speed (although only slightly). The MSI website says that the onboard RAID controller can't be disabled. I think this is poor design. Does anyone know if this is going to be addressed in future BIOS releases ?
3. Which of the USB ports are USB 2.0 and USB 1.1. I thought it was rather strange that only 2 of the 4 ports on the header actually active.

First off your temp is ok on that board. If you have not loaded the onboard raid driver do so and it is something you have to suffer with on the MSI board. All of your USB ports should run at USB 2.0 and you also should be able enable all of them in the bios.

K7n2 delta-l question:)

K7N2 Delta-L is a new board for me, and day by day I discover new things, some are positive, others are negative:)
Today I want to ask you about some negative aspects:
1. When I want to set the Vcore of the CPU at 1,55V (in fact I want to set it to 1,50V, but this option is not possible in bios), after reboot, the Vcore in bios is ~ 1,61V:)
2. The Vbat in bios show me 0,00V, but my bios settings are kept after each reboot, so I think the battery voltage cannot be zero:)
The bios is flashed with the latest version (5.4). Do you have some ideas?!?

I'm new in the nForce "world", after a long time with VIA boards, and maybe that's why I came here with a lot of questions:)
I've learned that bios for nForce it's a little bit tricky with settings, but I hope this items will be fixed in the next releases.
On the other hand, I managed to have a very stable system, with a 1700+ thoroughbred b0 overclocked at 2600+ (333mhz fsb) @1,6V Vcore, in dual channel (1:1), with 2 different memory modules (Samsung PC2700 & PQI PC2700)
But still I'm curious if this MB is able to handle the "Keyboard Power On" feature (this feature is not advertised in user manual or MSI website). This feature is managed by Winbond HW monitoring chip or by nForce northbridge/southbridge chipsets?!?
I like this feature, I used it on my latest motherboards, and I cannot believe that such a new board (and coming from MSI!) is not able to handle this feature:)

Parameter selection question

I want to make a report that gives the user the option to do one of following:
(1) Select Top 5 Used Profile IDs
(2) Select Top 5 Random Profile IDs
(3) Choose Up to 5 Desired Profile IDs
How can I make a parameter that once selected will either, with option 1 or 2 pass the selected IDs from a SQL Command, or with option 3 to select the profile IDs themselves? Is this possible?
I am using CR 11.5 and this will be implemented with the Viewer through a front-end application.

you'd really need to post this question to a forum particular to your database. Commands are written in your db syntax.
mostly you'd need to know if your database actually supports a row level random function for the option number (2). some db's don't...i.e. they support a query level random function where the random number is a single number per query versus a different number for each row. if that's the case you'll need to look for a workaround particular to your db.
for the other options look into seeing whether or not your database supports a CASE statement for the ORDER BY clause and the WHERE clause as you'd need to either use the WHERE clause for picking 5 user entered profile ID's or the ORDER BY clause to get the Top 5 Used Profile ID's.
so given your db and version this type of command is possible.

Delta selection Issue

Dear All,
We are pulling 2 years data into Bi for OM 2LIS_11_VAKON. The selection is based on Doc Number. My problem is , if a new number range is created in the source, how can i fetch the delta for the same since we would have already started the delta for the selection made now.Please suggest and guide on the same.

As far as i understand you mean you have a delta in place and you load data to BW for a particular doc range.
Since you have a delta in place already for a Doc range and now that you are going for a new doc range ,all you need to do is delete the setup tables and fillup the setup tables for your new doc range. Once you fill up the setup tables, Just do an init in BW with data transfer for your new document range. By this you can ensure that you do not loose any delta data and your existing delta is not affected.
This is the case when you do not have any overlapping doc ranges.

Delta load question

Hello All,
Could you please help by providing a high level step by step solution for the following:
Currently we have an ODS that is being filled by a selective delta load(2LIS_04_S621) by using production order ranges. We have loaded this data for the last 5 years and the number ranges are plant specific.
We now have the need to load all production orders for all plants which span over several number ranges. Please advise.

What about in R/3, did the extractor has data for all the plants , if yes then you can perform the repair full request excluding the selection previously given ( for the selective filed you can write a routine to exclude the current seletcion ).Might be this can help.

InDesign user studying Illustrator! (selection question)

I'm trying to learn Illustrator (taking an online class in it). I've used it a bit for editing, but I've never worked primarily in it. I'm mostly an InDesign user, but I want to know Illustrator a lot better too.
I've got a question about selecting items on the artboard, and I'm struggling with how to word it, but here goes:
When selecting objects on the artboard, is there a method of selection equivalent to what happens when you repeatedly click in InDesign while holding down the Ctrl key? Repeatedly clicking in InDesign allows you to select the object below where you've clicked (if you have several overlapping objects) but is NOT the same as using the menu option for "Next Oject Below." I've always been confused by this difference, but I'll see if I can explain it: "Next Object Below" selects the next object in the stacking order regardless of where it is on the page. Whereas holding the Ctrl key and clicking repeatedly selects the next object directly below the point where you've clicked (and nowhere else on the page). Is there an equivalent to that type of selection in Illustrator?

No, it's not your machine; I get the same behavior as you, Phyllis.
The thing is: The desired behavior is dependent upon the location of a
mouse click, not the position of a selected object.
An Action can reference the current selection. But I doubt very seriously that the Action feature goes and gets the
most recent mouse click coordinates (even if Illustrator stores them somewhere) in order to know
where to select something if and when an Action that invokes the select next above/below command is run.
Personally, I suspect it's just another sloppy bug that the cursor menu items in question can be recorded at all. It was probably overlooked that the
names of the two
different functions are identical. When you record the one from the cursor submenu, it tries to run the function that resides in the Select menu.
At any rate, the behavior is as I stated: useless. Even if recording it as an Action worked, it would be nowhere near the clearly better funtionality of other programs (one of which Adobe owns). The difference is that cycling through the stack
under the cursor should not be invoked by a
keyboard shortcut per se, but by a keyboard
modifier that alters the behavior of a click that occurs while the key is held down.
See Freehand for an example of this simple feature done right.

MSI K7N2 Delta RAID question

Hi guys,
Again with the stupid questions. At least my questions are easy.
I've been dieing to hook up a couple o' SATA drives and run RAID, striping, on my MSI K7N2 Delta. I ordered a couple 200Giger Seagate Barracuda's tonight. Couldn't pass up the deal even though I shouldn't have spent the $.
OK, here's my stupid question: Can you partition a drive(s) in RAID 0? I would like to partition like 10GB for the OS and the rest for like apps and download storage. If I ever have to reformat the OS I only have to redo the 10GB partition. Thanks for bearing through my stupid questions, I'm just excited to do this and can't wait to find out.

I kinda figured it would be business as usual, but I wasn't sure.
I am very curious about speed performance. I'm not sure it would be worth it from what I've read about RAID 0. Apparently it will be good for like video editing operations which I will be doing a little bit of for my web site. I will find out for myself though, and I do need more room. So, regardless the space is needed and I wouldn't mind a bit more performance.
I have the RAID drivers on floppy disk that came with the mobo. I think I'm all set except for drives that will arrive this week some time.

KT6-Delta FISR questions

I have finally put together my pc and I want to ask a few questions.
The Latest BIOS update says it will update the SATA rom to version 2.31.
My first question is, will it make the SATA performance faster?
My Second question: the manual says the FISR comes with a gigabit LAN but yet all the drivers I have tried can only do 10/100. Why is that?
My KT6-delta has not crashed since it has been working and I am very pleased with MSI, the board layout is very good and I like all the BIOS options.

1 question....I tried latest bios and it made my SATA raid array slower....however the cpu idle function does work.
2.Gigabit lan connection is only good if computer you are linked to has same. (better for small lan)

Itunes selection question

Why are their two of the six seasons of 24 missing, and why doesn't itunes have any good movies. They have decent tv shows, but their movies blow. But my main question is that if you have a tv show like 24, why don't you sell all the seasons all they have is 1,2,5,6 where is thre and four... Thanks in advance, and does anyone know the best way to record live to and import it into itunes. I don't like the eyetv because i don't want a cable wire running to my mac book, i want hd wireless, slingbox is all i have heard. Give me some new news if possible.

Ringtone selection question

I don't know if I'm using the correct terminology in English since my phone is set up for Norwegian language, but here's my question:
When I have been selecting ringtones or notification sounds specific to different apps (email, gmail, text messages), I have been given the choice where I want to browse for ringtones. I am also presented with the choice if I want to browse in a location just one time or always. I have been choosing "Just one time", since I wish to have the choice of location next time. Well, today I accidentally chose "Always", and I can't figure out how to reset / undo that so I can choose from different locations in the future. For instance, I download ringtones/notifications from Zedge, and Zedge has appeared as a choice for where I want to retrieve a ringtone. But now it's not an option anymore. Is there a way to undo / reset this so I can pick from music, system tones, Zedge etc.?

SELECT Question

I have a table where I have 4 columns, and lets for example 3 of them have NULL values.
How do I query the table where only ALL 3 columns are NULL, and not when only 1 are null. It seems simple

You can use IS NULL function to identify the NULL values in your table. Based on your requirement you can use "OR" or "And" operators:
--ALL are NULL

--Only 1 is NULL

HR Infosets - switch object selection question?

Dear All,
I encounter this issue. I create a HR Infosets using logical database PNPCE. As the requirement of our HR Dept, so we need to add more extras fields (by code).
The problem when we switch on/off object selection (from menu):
- When the object selection is off: all the extras fields I add are available.
- When the object selection is on: all of them are not available.
This is my idea. All the field of infosets will be display when the object selection is on depend on SAP internal field, and the extra field we add by code will not be displayed.
But it's my opinion. So please help me with this issue.

Hi,
We can hide those options by implementing the Layoutsets. If you need to hide those options for standard admin user itself, then you need to change the standard Layoutsets, which is not recommended. These options are defined in the "Command Group" of the Layoutsets.
You can Navigate to Layoutsets thru below path.
Sys Admin -> System Configuration -> Knowledge Management ->Content Management -> User Interface -> Settings -> Layoutset
Tweaking over the Layoutset Command group properties will hide the options which you mentioned.

Path selection question for an image of neurons

I have a photo of neurons taken by a microscope as a TIFF. I'd like to remove the black background color and any "cloudiness" that appears in the photo but still maintain the detail of the neurons and the connections. Essentially, I'd like to change the color of the neuron related pieces to something other than red. I'd also like to pick up most of the detail in the photo that relates to the neuron without taking along any of the black background (see second image attachment). I also want to be able to set the neurons on a different color background that's solid and not murky. I just upgraded my version of Photoshop from CS2 to CS5 and definitely noticed a difference in its ability to pick up the paths. I don't know if I'm being too demanding of Photoshop or if I'm not getting the result I want because there's a better approach. I would greatly appreciate any suggestions on how to go about doing this.

I tried selecting a path with the color selection tool (taking just the reds) and copying it on to a new layer but as you can see, some of the detail was lost and the edges are picking up some of the black background:

I'd try an image processing forum. This forum is typically for Java-specific issues and there might not be that many people who've done this here. Sorry I couldn't help. Have you read some image processing books?

Multiple Menu List Selection question.

In a form I have a multiple select list that's populated dynamically from a table, e.g. label = full name, value = name_id. I need to be able to insert both label and value into another table. Normally, selecting a label will insert the value, but what technique (short example, please) can I use to extract the label itself as well as it's value from the list?
