Delta upload in ODS 0FIGL_O02

Hi,
I tried loading the data in to 0FIGL_O02 using 'Full update' option.And then for loading the deltas i'm doing the 'init' option .Then its throwing a message 'Full loads already available.Init/delta not possible.
I also tried loading using the option 'init with data transfer ' and then i could do the deltas.
But in both the scenarios there is difference in the number of records .(In the first scenario i'm getting the total records which matches with extract checker.But in second case total records are less by 20)Why is it happening when the data target is the same in both the cases.

Are you sure anything was changed between the init and the delta update? Otherwise the queue will be empty...

Delta Upload request from ODS is not including the Data target of planning

Hi,
I have a process chain in which there is a delta upload from ODS to 3 different data target. One of the data target is the planning cube. last 2days back i have changed the process chain schedule after was the Delta request is not hapenning for Planning cube. The process chain contains the changing the planning to load mode and load to planning mode. Every thing is working fine but the Delta is not happening for the Planning cube. Delta request are going correctly to the Other 2 data targets. Now it was like Delta has excluded the Planning cube. Another this there is nto planning package is appearing in the Infousources. and when I am trying to upload manually from ODS to Data targets it say that No delta is there. Please help me in this. This is a production problem. I have checked all the data monitors every thing is from but no delta is hapenning for the planning cube.

Delta Upload Problem

Hi All,
I have a ods which feeds the cube, i designed this to facilitate delta capability to cube.i loaded 17000 records(delta upload) to ODS and it says transfered-17000 and added-17000 but only 12000 records have been transfered to the cube and there are no routines in the update rules of cube from Ods, i am not sure why its only transfered 12000 records to cube when the added records in ODS are 17000.

Hi Shetty.
   If you are having Keys as key1 key2 key3 key4 and Qty and value. If you want to make it overwrite you have load in overwrite mode.
It works like this:
key1 key2 key3 key4 Qty value
A     B   C    D    10 100 -->> already there
if you are loading new data from Flat file in overwrite mode contains below data then,
It works like this:
key1 key2 key3 key4 Qty value
A     B   C    D    15 150
A     B   C    E    20 200
After this load your ODC data will be
key1 key2 key3 key4 Qty value
A     B   C    D    15 150
A     B   C    E    20 200

After deletion ODS change log, Delta upload OK?

Hi all,
Now I am reducing data from BW server. For this purpose, I will delete ODS change log. Both of data "from ODS" and "to ODS" are uploaded by Delta Upload.
If I delete change log after last delta initialization, is there any problem to next delta upload?
For example, the last delta initializing was done April 1. And I delete the change log up to April 30. After this operation, can be expected any problem to Delta upload?

I dont think it will cause any issue with next delta loads.
Data goes from ODS to its targets from change log table.
But I think better have strategy like..'delete change log data only for requests older than say...1 month or 2 months..'
so that if u have problems with recent data loads..u can reload easily..
u can also try cleaning up old requests from the PSA tables in the system..

Hi Sabrina...thank you for ur help...i did load the data from cube to ods
steps.
1. i generated export data source on the cube
2. i found the name of the cube with prefix 8<infocube name> in the infosource under DM application component.
3. there are already communication structure and transfer rules activated but when i am creating update rules for the ods..i am getting the message 0recordmode missing in the infosource.
4. so i went to infosource and added 0recordmode in communication structure and activated but the transfer rules in yellow colour..there was no object assigned to 0recordmode but still i activated.
5.again i went to ods and created update rules and activated (tis time i didnt get any message about 0recordmode).
6.i created infopackage and loaded.
a)Now my question is without green signal in the transfer rule how data populated into the ods and in your answer you mentioned to create communication structure and transfer rules where in i didnt do anything.
b) will i b facing any problem if i keep loading the data into the ods from cube (in yellow signal) ..is it a correct procedure..plz correct me..thanks in advance

Delta upload errored

Hi all:
In a process chain we upload delta to ODS 0figl_o10, then update target cube 0figl_c10 with that delta (after activating ODS).
That process is erroring out making R/3 and BW out of sync. Can someone suggest what's the best option now?
I wanted to delete the ODS and the cube data, then init load the ods, activate ods, send data to the target cube and then restart the process chain. Not sure if there is any better way.

Delta upload from external tables in BI 7.0

hi guys!
i need to create a delta upload reading the data from an external db
what are the options that i have?
there is someway to use the timestamp that i have in the source tables
and make a comparison between the timestamp in ods and the timestamp into the PSA?
i have to use the rso2 transaction or simply a DTP?
in bw i don't have the field type timestamp
but only time or date
how can i take the source timestamp into bw?
if i try to define the timestamp fields as char 14 a don't receive any data in that fields with the preview
what kind of data type i have to use?

Dear Emiliano,
1. Have two fields in BW, one each for date and time.
2. Separate the time-stamp in the source system in to Date & Time fields separately. For this try creating a view.
3. Else, write a two small routine (for each of the two transformation) to read the time-stamp in BW.

Uploading infocube without Delta-Upload method

Hi!!!
Im new in BW. I have 2 infocube that dont have the function of Delta-Upload. I had loaded data to these cubes in the method Full update. How should I be doing the following extraction? Do I need to erase the previous data in the infocube (data loaded last time)? Does anyone have a manual about this? My email is [email protected]

yeah you need to delete the data before you do other full load, as the cube has a additive feature unlike ODS with overwrite function.
there are two ways you can do that, you can use a function delivered in process chain - process types to delete the contents of data provider
or in the infopack, in the data provider tab, there is flag "delete entire content in data provider", just check the flag, whenever you schedule a load, the data would be deleted before the lastest load goes in.

Delta upload in different times and targets

Dear BW Gurus,
I have to fill a Master Data table with a delta (for performance reasons) from an ODS object, and later fill an InfoCube with the same delta from the same ODS Object. This two step approach is necessary because the Cube uses the Master Data filled in the first step - so I cannot do the two uploads within the same InfoPackage.
My approach was the following in a Process Chain:
1. Fill and activate "source ODS"
2. Load request from "source ODS" to PSA only
3. Update Material Master from PSA using "Read PSA and Update Data Target" process with the variant setting the PSA table and the Master Data InfoObject as Data Target.
4. Run "Attribute Change" process for the Master Data IO
5. Update InfoCube from the same PSA that was used for the Master Data InfoObject. This is also a "Read PSA and Update Data Target" process with the variant setting the same PSA table as before and now the InfoCube as the Data Target.
To me this seemed logical but when I run the Process Chain I got the following error message at point 3 (update Master Data from PSA): "No request for posting found in the variant".
This appears strange to me because if I specified the request, it would only work for the first upload and not for all the others.
Can anyone please help me how to overcome this issue of Delta upload in different times and targets?

If I create two delta InfoPackages, the first one clears the delta queue, so the second InfoPackage won't find any data. This is unfortunately not the way to do...

Your proposal is quite original - if I upload the same ODS with its data (amended by the date field) that would in fact generate a new delta for the same ODS.
However, in the meantime a more simple idea came up in our BW team, inspired by your proposal. For the uploading of the Master Data I now don't use the delta functionality of the ODS export Data Source, but instead I set up a full upload filtered for the actual date. This ensures the good performance of Master Data load (load time will not increase with time) and also we will have all recent Master Data uploaded from the ODS because that load is in the same Process Chain where the "Source ODS" is updated. Later in the same Process Chain I simply start the delta upload for the Cube.

Failure in Delta Upload

       we have delta upload for our purchasing data to BW. from the infopackages the data is Updated to ODS- 0PUR_O01, which provides data to Infocubes - 0PUR_C08 and 0PUR_C07 and ODS 0PUR_O02 ( which in turn provides data to infocube - 0PUR_C09 ). 3 days back one request in ODS 0PUR_O01 went into error status. WAfter marking the request "RED" it was deleted from the ODS, but since the request had the same PSA_ID as that of an another successful (GREEN) request in the same ODS with data mart status ticked, this request also got deleted by mistake, as a result the datamart status for all the request in the ODS (0PUR_O01) is missing, from this time onwards the subsequent data updates to infocubes 0PUR_C08 and 0PUR_C07 and ODS 0PUR_O02 (also to Infocube 0PUR_C09 ) are finishing in Error status. we have deleted all the requests (after marking them "RED") for previous three days from the data targets ( infocubes 0PUR_C08, 0PUR_C07, and 0PUR_C09 and ODS 0PUR_O02). we also have deleted the correposnding requests from ODS 0PUR_O01 (after marking them "RED").Now when we are trying to reconstruct the requests at 0PUR_O01, it goes successful, but when we try to activate the requests into subsequent data targets ( back ground job BI_ODSA* ) the job fails with a short dump and the following error message.

the data flow in this regard is:

now when we try to reconstruct a request in ODS OPUR_O01, the a new request is created (Requid- 175429) with green status but without datamart icon. Now when this request is activated in 0PUR_O01 and since "Activate ODS object Data automatically and   Update Data Targets from ODS object automatically" is checked in 0PUR_O01, new requests are created in ODS 0PUR_O02 (Requid- 17566)and infocubes OPUR_C07(Requid- 17566) and OPUR_C08(Requid- 17566). All these requests are with 0 data and PSA_ID are also 0. and then the above short dump and error comes in.. one thing to note here is
"Activate ODS object Data automatically and   Update Data Targets from ODS object automatically" option is also checked in ODS 0PUR_O02.

   Now we change value in source system manual,and we want to redo the delta upload and upload the data for cube.

Generic Datasource Delta upload Issue

Hi all,
I have created a Generic Datasource for Solution Manager ODS 0crm_process_srv_h which contains the userstatus, transaction number, transaction desc and GUID of CRM Order Object (ods key field),only these fields.
I have taken transaction number as delta field and it is as timestamp. But delta upload is not happening. If I give GUID or Status also delta upload is not happening . Please suggest which is the best way to give to delta upload.

Hi,
in your case you need to create a function module as a extractor. Create a extract structure as well and add a timestamp field (lets call it zdeltahelp) to be used as the delta relevant field of the datasource. After successful init the last extraction timestamp will be passed to the fm and you can start selecting all resb entries for orders created and/or changed from that time on as well as the ones deleted (but therefore you need to read the change documents as well). Issue in CRM Delta upload to BW

I need to configure the exchange of data between CRM 7.0 and BI 7.0. I am facing facing issue of Delta upload from CRM to BI. Initial upload to BI was successful but not working Delta. I need to download the activity and the opportunity. But in transaction RSA7 the delta queue displays 0 records for 0CRM_SALES_ACT_1, 0CRM_SALES_ACT_I, 0CRM_OPPT_H and 0CRM_OPPT_I. It's status is green. In the transaction SMW01 this BDoc red in an error state with the text "Could not determine module name: BUS_TRANSACTION_MESSAGE GENKEY: REP_GET_RECIPIENT" and "Service that caused the error: SMOH_REPLICATION_WRAPPER_MSG".

My scenario was delta was not getting loaded within BW ods and cube... Delta was getting captured from source system but it was not getting loaded from ODS--> ods/cube....
So i first deleted the data mart symbol from ODS (source) and then did the repeat delta...

Delta upload for generic data sources.

Hai All,
I tried as per SAP online document , but still i am not getting the result i.e delta upload from the BW side. Here i explained everything what i did.
In R/3
1. I have created a table with 3 fields SNO, SNAME, DOB
2. Then i created some entries in that table.
3. With Tr Code RSO2 i created one data source. Here i took Master Attribute Datasource
4. In generic delta i took the Generic field as DOB. and Time stamp and upper limit 10 sec.
In BW side
1. I have replicated the data sources under application compone in which i have creatred in R/3..
2. Then i activated that data source and created infopackage for that.
3. in the selection i have specified 01.01.1900 to 01.01.9999
4. First i made Full Update then i get all the records from R/3.
5. In R/3 i have created 2 more entries.
6. In Infopackage UPDATE Tab i have selected the Initilize Delta Process ( Initialization with Data Transfer).
For this i am getting the error message as follows.

Here i closed the all things in R/3 as per the note mentioned above. Still it is giving the error message.
If i select the Intilization Delta Process( Intilization with out Data Transfer) then i am getting the option Delta Update . I selected this Delta update and scheduled but no data is coming.

I am getting the problem at PSA only. Actually that is connected to ODS Object only. Until unless we don't get the delta data into PSA we can't proceed futher. So please help. I am working on NW 2004S.

Init Data Upload from ODS to Info cube

Hi,
When i am trying to upload the date from ODS to info cube using initial upload option in info package, i am not able to see the selection option fields.
Whereas using the same ODS & info cube, if i am trying to change the option to full upload in info package, i am getting all the selection fields.
what could be the reason for the same.

Let me explain u the complete scenario
1) we have an existing ODS which populates an info cube on daily basis (delta upload)
2) we have created a new info cube, which fetch the data from the same ODS. that means 2 info cubes which are getting populated from one ODS.
3) now when we have tried to initialize the new info cube from the existing ODS, it asked us to delete the initialize upload options "scheduler - initialize option for the system". & we have done the same. but by doing this, ODS has removed the option of delta upload from old info cube upload info package && new info cube initial upload is not dislaying any of selection fields..
4) now, i have a query
- how can i activate delta on old info cube (without losing any data)
- how to upload data in new info cube with selection fields and start delta
