Demand Forecast to rollup from Tier 3 warehouses to Tier 1 main plant

Hi ,
I would like to find out if there are any possibilities to roll up  demand forecast from Tier 3 warehouses (nodes) upwards to
main Tier 1 warehouse / plant  (root)
please suggest ideas/ inputs
1)Any BI Data Load methodology need to changed or if
2) Any APO config needs adjustment

HI,
I am now confused on what you actually want to do.
If you want to plan in SNP, then since you are maintaining inforecords in ECC, you need to create integration models in ECC and CIF the inforecords. Each inforecord should come into APO and create transportation lanes. You shouldn't have to manually create transportation lanes in APO.  You would how ever need to maintain the means of transport in each of the lanes from plant to DC Tier I to DC (s) Tier3.
When you run Heurisitics, the demand is aggregated to Tier I DC and then to plant.
If you maintain the forecast for the Tier I DC and Tier II DC(s) in DP, you can just release the forecast at these DC levels.
If you want to run statistical forecast at the Tier II DC(s), then you need the demand history in DP for each of the DCs.
Is this what you are trying to do? or are you trying to rioll up demand in DP. If you want to roll up demand in DP, I am not sure what the need is. Can you explain?
For any further questions, please give more details; examples would help.

  • Corrected demand forecast(   ???)

    hi
Out of 3 demand types I could see   Customer demand(coming from sales orders) ,forecast demand (coming from DP),then what is corrected demand forecast(   ???)
how does it arrive??  Is it  a aggregated value of first 2 demand types. plz lend a hand
    thanks

    Hi,
This depends on how you want to use the 'safety stock' as a constraint while planning with optimizer. You should consider few things while you decide on the level of the safety stock as a planning  constraint. Like you should always maintain safety stock violation penalty cost is greater than the product storage cost. If you dont, then optimizer will not plan for your safety stock.
The same way you can decide on whether you want safety stock violation as a hard or soft constraint by assigning some safety stock violation rule/cost.
So, depending on the business and importance of maintaining a minimum stock level at your inventory you can prioritize your goal of maintaining a stock level at least at product's safety stock.
Like you can prioritize safety stock as demand forecast. So, in case of supply shortage you can use safety stock to meet demands from the customer.
    Hope this helps.

  • Performance Testing Oracle Retail Demand Forecasting application

    Hi All
Has anyone performance tested Oracle Retail Demand Forecasting application ( RDF ) using LoadRunner? If yes can you please give me the protocol used and steps followed for scripting ?
    Thanks

How do you get the error? The error occurs during playback in which I am getting a "You are trying to access a page that is no longer active" error. In addition, it states "- The referring page may have come from a previous session. Please select Home to proceed."
Can you post an example of "most of the correlation that is being referenced throughout the internet seemed to contain NCA functions"?
This was the link I was referring to http://martinspier.co.uk/how-to-script-oracle-11i-apps-on-loadrunner. I don't have the current knowledge in the differences between 11i at the intricate level but it seemed like when I accessed our 11i environment, the login portion is also http/https protocol. From what I noticed though that some of the oracle forms (i.e. payments module) have been converted to Webforms. So I was thinking from a login testing standpoint, the use of this tutorial would still be applicable. However, I just checked the Test Starter Kit Information Center (Note 239746.1) that Steven Chan provided and have downloaded their sample login script for 12.0.4. It seemed that they used the same multi NCA, WEB protocol but login information captured seemed to be capturing http requests only.
Thanks in advance Hussein and for anyone else who can chime in on this task. Any information would be greatly appreciated as I understand am new to not only Loadrunner but Oracle Financial Applications as well.

  • What is demand forecasting

what is demand forecasting since i am a beginner in advanced supply chain planning

Demand forecasting involves techniques including both informal methods, such as educated guesses, and quantitative methods, such as the use of historical sales data or current data from test markets. Demand forecasting may be used in making pricing decisions, in assessing future capacity requirements.

  • Where we will see unconstrained demand forecast

    Hi gurus,
We are entering demand in Interactive demand planning(IDP), than we will run Univariate forecast after  run forecast, where we will see unconstrained demand forecast.kindly give me suggestions
    Babu

    Hi Babu,
what you see in DP (TX /SAPAPO/SDP94) is in fact unconstrained demand. Generally speaking the process is as following:
    - You capture demand as close as possible to customer. At this stage the demand is unconstrained because at that point you do not have any idea whether your supply chain is able to satisfy this (no check of inventory, production, storage, transportation capacitiy and many other factors involved in to bring goods from A to customer). You somply capture the demand
    - After running forecast you pass it to SNP and there you check the demand against your resources and capacities. The outcome of SNP should be constrained demand. At this stage it is easier to make commitment regarding delivery time and quantity. Normally you send constrained demand back to DP and compare thme (constrained against unconstrained demand)

    Kannan,
Start by ready the Oracle Advanced Supply Chain Planning and Demand Planning User Guides (Implementation manuals). But the real answer is that both of these modules are very complex and it would be difficult for you to accomplish this work by just reading the manuals. Hopefully you have someone experienced engaged and these manuals are intended as references to help you prepare and learn the subject..

  • DEMAND FORECAST  AUTOMATIC CREATION

    Dear Expert
The question is with regards to MRP(Auto Creation of Purchase Order)
    1. we have 5000 items we need to create Purchase order Automatically, for that purposes we will be making demanfd forecast . In sap B1 we have Demand forecast(DF) but we have to create DF mannually . i would like to know is there any method for automatic creation of DF baased on the criteria we given

    Hi...........
There is no automatic way of creating Forecast. If you have fixed Forecast Qty and its products at each month then you can directly duplicate the forecast and simply add.
Else you can use DTW also for import no. of forecasts at a time.....

  • Add on from Navigator and warehouse management

    Hello
has anyone some feedback on BinOne an addon from Navigator for warehouse management. We have delayed twice our golive to let it stabilise and I am concerned by the quality on Navigator. Are they reliable ? Could you recommend other options ?
We are a trading business with a small warehouse (lots of direct shipment). In our warehouse, we need :
    - strong bin management (default bin, other optional bins, on the fly allocation to a new bin when needed)
    - strong serial number management including transfering hundreds of SN from one bin to another (when we move a pallet basically)
    - potential extension to barcoding or RFID
    Thanks
    Fabrice

    Hello
We are considering Inventory Pro from Citixsys but we have other issue with that system as well. We have abandonned a third option not adapted to us.
The real issue is to find a multiple bin solution that remains flexible enough for technicians and service actions.

  • Shipping from a Specific Warehouse

I'm looking for a way to have apps "intuitively" select a warehouse to ship from based on the customer's ship to address.
(e.g.) Product exists in PA and CA. Customer lives in PA. I want the product to ship from the PA warehouse.
Any suggestions how to make it happen?

The limitation with using a defaulting rule is that this is going to populate the warehouse on the order prior to attempting to schedule or check ATP. It will then try to schedule against only that inventory org. If there is not availability there it is NOT going to know that you have availability in another warehouse in the next state.
Ask yourself if this is what you want ... ie. it will only consider the default warehouse for availability and if you have huge stocks in the next state the system will not know.
What you could potentially do is set up a bill of distribution & use the Global ATP functionality ... although there's a lot of setup & maintenance if you have to do 52 states & more than just the US. In simple terms, this would check first against your default warehouse & if there is not availability there then it will check against the next priority warehouse defined in the Bill of Distribution. Suggest if interested you read up on this as it's pretty involved.
Back to the defaulting rule ... at the Customer Ship-To in AR you can define a Warehouse & set up your defaulting rule to use this as the first option. This assumes that your business process allows for the person creating the customer record in AR knowing the correct warehouse, but this merely transfers the issue from being one of order entry to one of customer setup. There is no standard way to have the warehouse default in the Customers Standard form.

  • GL25 Rollup from PCA to SPL not considering GCP1 settings

GL25 Rollup from PCA to SPL does not consider closed periods maintained via GCP1. That is even if period is closed via GCP1, although you cannot post a manual SPL document via GB01, you can still rollup to SPL in a closed period. We have tried even OKP1 settings at controlling  level also but still the roll up happens.
On our analysis we think that controlling field movements between GLPCT & ZJVT tables using user exits that would validate the posting date, would serve the purpose.
Please let me know if there any OSS notes or any other configuration settings ,which are there so as to avoid using user exits.

  • Demantra forecast disappears intermittently from ASCP.

Demantra forecast disappears intermittently from ASCP. Need to run Upload local forecast workflow again and then the plan run to view the forecast again, Can anyone tell why is this happening?
However the forecast entries are not disappearing from the Denorm table.
    Thanks
    Somanath

if the data is available in denorm table, then some planning program is causing this issue. demantra worflow or forecast publish from demantra works fine.

  • DP - Sales and Demand Forecast values in the Planning book were increased.

    Dear DP Experts,
The Sales and Demand Forecast values in the Planning book were increased.  Is there a way to tract who user could have made the changes?  Can we view the last change like in the document flows?
    Thanks,
    Glason

    hi Glason
if the values have been changed by the user community, I am not sure if there is a way to find out. However if there is technical flaw in data processing, you can check for the steps as posted in the above post.
We faced a similar issue in our project. We were not able to trace the user ids under which the values were changed. However since we retain the 15 days of back up, we were able to check that the values were changed on a certain date but not the user ids. but we were still able to restore the original values.
As an additional step, we also developed macros to store (in the form of alerts) the exisitng value and the updated value incase the there was a manual change in the Sales forecast and other editable key figures.  This ensured that there was a check if there was a manul change. we also ensured that these macros were not executed during the background jobs.
SAP also provides a standard SAP APO Change Monitor add-on which can be used to track chnages to the key figures. Please refer to note 1308968 for further information on the add on.
let me know if this helps.

  • Move the FG  from Production to Warehouse and QC at WH

    Dear All,
We have a senario as follows:
Finish Goods has to move directly from Production to Warehouse and perform QC at Warehouse.
Let us know which Inspection type has to be activated
    Please suggest
    Regards

    Don,
When you say Order --> Warehouse/BIN. I am assuming the put away will happen only when the GR from Production Order is done. IF that's the case then what Vivek suggested you should work. If thats not the case then I am assuming Warehouse has to be maintained as work center and then you need to have an inprocess inspection (Inspection Type 03) active for that work center in your routing. Do let us know if there is some other way you are looking to map this.

  • Selecting the Subinventory for orders shipped from the LAO warehouse

    Experts,
We will need to begin selecting the Subinventory for orders shipped from the LAO warehouse. Can we make this a required field at order entry? If so, can we set up a default value at the customer level as well?
Please suggest me how to setup.
    Thanks,
    JP

    Prakash,
Subinventory is not an attribute of the header so you can't default to header and then from header to line, you have to do it directly to the line. You have 2 alternatives:
    1) if this only relates to 2 or 3 key accounts you could create a validation template for each of these accounts:
    Name = Cust1 Subinv
    Attribute = Customer
Value String = Customer1 name etc.
... and a rule for each using the relevant template as a defaulting condition:
    Source type = Constant Value
    Source/Value = Subinv for Customer1
    2) a PL/SQL procedure which looks at a DFF against your customer, picks up the subinv code and defaults that to your line. You need to reference the package name and procedure name from your defaulting rule. You'll probably need some tech assistance with writing this if you're not familiar with PL/SQL.
