  • Demand Plan Upload

    Hi,
Can you please give me a code so that I could get the output >> Volume Upload Successful with warning message “ Material MA00005TEST is flagged for deletion”
Please help me with this problem.
    Thanks...

    Hi.
As said by Madhu - You can use the Badi /Lsmw/BDC
    Version:
    a.  You can maintain diferent version,
    b.  The important thing is only the active version will be used in hte demand planning.
    c. The inactive version will not be used and they can be maintianed for the information purposed.
You can use the existing version like 00, 01 etc and nothing new is required for  you

  • APO Demand Planning realignment and BI

    Hi experts,
I need to handle realignment process done in APO Demand Planning area in order to get data consistency in BW.
All I can tell you is that my idea was to get data from datasources created on Planning areas but I don't know how that realignment process impacts on information taken to BI.
As Demand Planning information changes from week to week(as guys in APO side do their forecast) we need to take snapshots to BI. My concern is how to manage realignment in this scenario. should we take a different approach to upload data to BI?.
    Thanks so much!.

    Hi rajib,
If you are new to APO & want understand Demand Planning steps then you can use SAP Help.
Pls go through following link. You can find all the steps.

  • A way to upload and downed complete Logic sessions

Hi, if I wanted to transfer a whole Logic session to someone else using Logic I used to put it on my Idisk public.
He could download and open it. Simple.
Now Idisk disappears I'm trying to find another way to do the same.
When using dropbox I need to upload track by track (after having bounced everything), so that's not a solution.
Dropbox won't upload the Logic session as 1 item.
Does anyone have a solution for this?
    Many thanks.

Hey Stefaan. Check out Gobbler. Works great. Let me know if this was helpful to ya!

    Hi user602232,
the batch logfile does not reveal any issues. It would be helpful to get more details:
    1. what kind of data does not appear in the worksheets? Level values etc?
    2. some more details about the demand plan setup and demand plan assignments would help.
The first things I would check:
    a) was data collection successful
    b) check the demand planner assignments
    regards,
    David.

  • Release Offset for Demand Plans

Hi,  We are trying to understand and use the release offset for demand plans.  Basically we would like to hide the current period from supply planning.  This seems to work in period one of the forecast.  As time passes and we get to period two we would like the forecast to no longer be exposed to supply planning.  This does not seem to be the case.  We have tried to roll the forecast however that does not seem to resolve it.  I believe we could delete the forecast lines in the "Maintain Demand Plan Screen" and then release the forecast however that is very work intensive.  How should this be done?
    Thanks,
    Dave

    Dear Jeevan,
Before you can use the invoicing plan with automatic settlement, the Evaluated receipt settlement delivery indicator must be set on the Purchasing Data screen in the vendor master record.
(If you wish to enter invoicing dates manually, this is not necessary.)
    Purchase Order
SAP recommends using order type FO (framework order), i.e. a purchase order with a predefined extended validity period and a "reason for cancellation". The invoicing plan can adopt the validity period specified in the PO header.
PO items for which you wish to use an invoicing plan must have account assignment irrespective of whether a material with a master record, a material described by a short text, or an external service is involved.
The GR/IR control facility must be set up in such a way that no goods receipt (or, in the case of services, no service entry) is expected - only an incoming invoice. If you wish to have automatic settlement, you must also set the Evaluated receipt settlement indicator.
    Customizing
Under Purchase Order --> Invoicing Plan --> in Customizing for Purchasing, you can maintain data such as the desired invoicing plan types, date categories, and date descriptions.
If you want to split it based on periodic than : maintain the invocing plan types :Maintain Periodic Invoicing Plan Types

  • Oracle Demand Planning or Demantra?

It seems fairly obvious that if you are starting out an implementation (or even part way through), you would cease implementing Oracle Demand Planning (ODP) and implement Demantra. I have read that all development work was ceased on ODP (even though some new features have been implemented in ODP R12). Further, I have read that there is no simple migration path from ODP to Demantra (due to the very different data structures).
    My questions:
    1. Do you agree with my comment about ceasing the implementation of ODP and resuming with ODP, and if not, why not?
    2. Is there any known migration path between the two products that is supported by Oracle or is a completely new implementation needed?
    3. What are the comparative costs of the two products?
    4. What are the technology stack requirements of the two products? (particulary of Demantra).
    Thanks, as always.

with regards to point 1... demantra is a better tool; it will create better forecast numbers and will provide a much more sophisticated end user experience. however the answer to your question is not always an obvious one.
firstly lets talk about finance and schedule. ceasing an implementation that is costing a large sum of money in favour of a newer product may not be the right course of action. budget alarm bells will start ringing since the delivery schedule will now be off the chart and the costs will only go up. is the implementation required to fix legacy system and data problems? if so there will be groans from the people that need the forecast numbers when they hear that the current inaccuracy will continue because some fabled "even better numbers" will be available somewhat later than promised.
what about stability? odp has it's fair share of problems but it is still much more robust than oracle demantra and depending on factors such as company size, structure, product life-cycle, forecast horizon and methodology demantra may not even provide a better solution. an r12 implementation of odp would survive for a number of years before requiring an upgrade and by then newer and better versions of oracle demantra will be available. there are a lot of customers still using odp and oracle will continue to support them.
don't forget the bigger picture and plan for the future. planning and forecasting solutions need to be flexible - whatever solution you use you should expect that it will need to evolve and part of that evolution should be a product migration. if the planners that are expected to use the new tools and process are not yet skilled at forecasting (maybe they just manipulate numbers in excel based upon weekly meetings?) then the basic approach to skills development might be as follows: start simple, then develop a more sophisticated approach and finally create a sophisticated forecasting solution (this pathway could take years). if you don't yet know the medium or advanced strategy then how can you possibly know which tool is best suited? start simple with odp knowing that in two years when you will want to move to a more advanced forecasting approach your users will understand what they want. at that point you can decide whether to stick or twist.
as for the other questions: 2 is a no. 3 & 4: don't know (sorry)
good luck and let us know what you decide.
