Hola, existe algun sitio en el que me pueda bajar un demo o una version de
30 dias o similar del Labview 5 version profesional??????.
Otra cosita, el Labview RT sirve para hacer el programa ejecutable igual que
lo hace el Application Builder?????

En cuanto a LabView RT, la respuesta es si. Usted tiene la posibilidad de crear ejecutables usando este programa, asi como lo haria en LabView. Dado que es otro programa, de igual forma necesitaria tener una version profesional.

Tengo instalado en mi computador con Windows XP Labview 6.1, y queria abrir unos VI's que baje de internet pero no podia pues necesitaban ser leidos por lo menos en un Labview 7... Por lo que instale el LabVIEW Run-Time Engine 8.0 for Windows 2000/XP. Baje dos archivos ejecutables desde la pagina de NI: "LVRunTimeEng.exe" (25 MB) y "LabVIEW_8.0_Runtime_Engine.exe" (89 MB). Segun la pagina debo instalar solo uno. Aca coloco el leame:

Older versions of Run-Time Engine

Quise instalar el de 89 MB, (fueron como 15 partes). Me pidio reiniciar pero al ver el menu Inicio o las carpetas donde se instalo, no vi nada del Labview Run-time engine. Y todavia cuando ejecuto un VI hecho con versiones nuevas, me sigue apareciendo el error en el Labview 6.1 que debo abrirlo en una version 7 o superior. Quiza pueda tener el error que debo instalar tambien el Labview Run-Time Engine 6 (creo que algo dice el ultimo parrafo del texto que copie en la pagina de NI)
Ojala me puedan ayudar, porque sigo sin abrir archivos de labview en mi version 6.1

It appears that you want to open a VI in LV 6.1, but that VI requires at least LV 7.x.
The runtime Engine of LV is only capable of running EXEs built with LV. If you want to open the Source code of a VI, installing LV 8 Runtime Engine won't be any beneficial.
These are your options:
1- Use a LV Development system ver. 7 or higher.
2- Find someone who has LV 7 and ask him to downconvert the VI to 6.1 by selecting "Save for Previous versions"

I'm getting error when trying to run demo Serial code

I'm trying to test out the demo of labview to see if we are going to upgrade. I am trying to access the serial ports since we used to do that before, but I'm having no luck with any of the demo code. When I run Serial Communication.vi, it keeps giving me an error. All other demo's I have tried give errors as well, although I don't know if it is the same one. I do not have any conflicts with my com ports, yet I get a -1073807202 err code. Here is the text I get in the error box.
Property Node in VISA Configure Serial Port (Instr).vi->Serial Communication.vi
Any help to get me started? I haven't used labview seriously for about 4-5 years with vers 5.0.
I have win2k in case that makes a difference.

Make sure that NI-VISA or the NI-VISA Run-Time Engine is installed on the computer. This error suggests that NI-VISA is not installed, or there is a problem with the installation. To remedy this, uninstall any existing versions of NI-VISA on the machine. Then, either reinstall the same version of NI-VISA, or upgrade to the latest version of NI-VISA (linked below).

Finding an example to run on labview 7 w/6025E

We bought a 6025E, have the Labview 7 Express eval SW. It appears that we can only modify existing code so it appears to us that we have to find a suitable example to run on our system. (OT we spent a lot of time looking for something called DIO Port 2.vi for one of the examples)
DOes anyone out there have example code that we can use to evaluate labview 7 and the 6025E?

Yes, we have purchased a 6025E card and want to evaluate which application (Labview Express or LabWindows) to purchase. Our plan is to use the demo of labview 7 express first to develop a simple test, and then use the labwindows demo to develop and evaluate the same test. This would give us a good feel (we thought) for which product we want to purchase. Our problem appears to be that without a license (Labview or LabWindows) we can only modify an existing task, channel, or scale according the measurement explorer. We are not sure what that (Message from ME) really means except that we are left to wonder what it means not having experience with the products.
We need an example program that we can use directly or modify for the 60
25E card that will give us a sense of what the test programming will be like in Labview 7 express. Our test scenario is to set a state, read our inputs, wait a period of time, change state, read our inputs, wait a period of time. We would like to use a spread sheet form to control the output states and compare the input states against, as well as set the period of time for each state. Setting a state includes setting the direction register for those ports or bits that can be set. If this is an easy demo or if it already exists in a state that we should be able to use and evaluate then please point us to the right location or source.
Our operating system is Windows XP Pro, internet connected, and can be set to host for GOTOMYPC or Windows remote assistance should there be an active interest in getting us going. We have a contractor in house whose job it was to set up a demo test but we are afraid that we shackled his efforts by not having the software already purchased. Is this a f
air assumption?

Actualmente tengo un programa en Simulink, versión de Matlab R2010b (64 bits), y tengo unas señales que debo pasar a Labview a través de Simulation Interface Toolkit, para realizar pruebas me he bajado de su página web la última versión de Labview (versión para estudiantes) y también me he bajado la versión de marzo del 2013 del LabVIEW Simulation Interface Toolkit. Me gustaría saber si estas versiones de Matlab y LabVIEW Simulation Interface Toolkit son compatibles y no tendré problema para enviar las señales.

Comunicación rs485 con labview

Hola a todos. Estoy intentado comunicarme desde labview con un analizador de red. El analizador se comunica mediante el RS-485 por lo que estoy utilizando un conversor de RS-485 a 232 (Magic 485F9 de AMPLICON) para conectarlo al PC. He creado un programa donde intento hacer una lectura de una serie de parámetros pero no consigo obtener respuesta. Tal vez no este introduciendo bien la trama de escritura al analizador (quiero enviar el valor HEX 0A 04 00 00 00 0A 71 76 que es un ejemplo que viene en el datasheet del analizador) y por eso no responde. Les adjunto los datasheets del analizador de red, del conversor RS-485 y el programa del labview.

Primero que nada muchas gracias por el VI que me has facilitado, me va a ayudar mucho en mi proyecto. Respecto al número de periférico, el que tenia configurado era el 10 así que por eso no era el problema.
He estado mirando el programa para poder entenderlo y debo decir que menos mal que me lo prestaste porque me parece bastante complicado. Hoy probé de comunicarme con el analalizador de red y me sale el mismo mensaje de error. Te adjunto dos imagenes, una del error y otra dónde se produce (VISA: (Hex 0xBFFF0015) Timeout expired before operation completed.). ¿Puede ser que el conversor no funcione correctamente?
Otra duda que tengo es ¿por qué utilizas un retardo tan grande (5 segundos)? Te lo digo porque lo interesante de estas comunicaciones es que se hagan cuanto más rápidas mejor.
Por último, me he dado cuenta que nosotros nos comunicamos por el puerto COM1 pero he puesto un "probe" en la entrada del módulo donde da error y la dirección del puerto es "ASRL1::INSTR", ¿esta es la dirección que utilizan los módulos VISA?

Hay algún manual que tenga ejemplos prácticos de interfaces (VI's) de Labview?

Hola.
Hasta ahora, la mayor parte de la documentación del Labview que circula en Internet solamente introduce al lector sobre las funcionalidades "tras bambalinas" del programa.
Es cierto que es uno de los softwares mejor documentados y con más características que haya conocido, pero encontré muy poco sobre las interfaces de usuario.
Tal vez porque sea neófito en este tema o porque todavía no puedo dar con la tecla, quisiera saber si hay, en algún lado de esta enorme base de conocimientos, un tutorial acerca de diseño y control de interfaces que comprenda dialog box, comandos de button jump y otros.
Antes que me digan algo, no alcanzo a comprender los ejemplos porque trato de reproducirlos con mis variables y no logro hacerlos funcionar.
Trabajo en Windows XP con Labview 2009.

Possible to use Labview DSC to Modbus over Lantronix using ethernet encapsulation?

I'm currently evaluating LabView DSC 2009. I want to connect to a Modbus PLC system, which is rs232, connected via a Lantronix box. I have the Lantronix software installed for com port redirection. I set up a serial Modbus I/O server, and every works great.
I was also playing around with the demo of LabView OPC Servers, and noticed that instead of selection com2, I was able to select ethernet encapsulation, and directly type in the IP address & port of the Lantronix box, and it worked great as well.
However, I noticed that when I close things out using the serial connection, it still leaves the port open & the computer connected to the serial port (verified using the Lantronix Manager). If I use the ethernet encapsulation route, it closes everything completely (since it doesn't use the installed Lantronix software redirector).
I have another user who will occasionally need to connect to the PLC using ProWorx, over the same Lantronix box, using a different computer. This often requires me to manually close out & disconnect the port, unless using the encapsulation method.
My question is: Using the DSC Module (over Modbus I/O server), can I use ethernet encapsulation instead of having to manually/force close the com port?

Hi,
As you noticed, there are differences between Modbus RTU, Modbus RTU/IP (encapsulated) and Modbus TCP. The first involves the use of a Com port on your computer and on the PLC. The second involves the use of a Device Sever (TCP Server) without using a Com port on your computer and not on the PLC. The third involves Ethernet media only.
Using Modbus RTU encapsulated, your computer keeps com ports free. So, you don't have to open and close the com ports. This task is performed by the Device Server (between PLC and PC).
I have been using Share variables to read/write from/to an array of singles with success, and definetly it's better than doing it at single read/write.
You will find tha NI OPC Servers and KepServer are the same software.
Now you can read/write from/to an array
All this process is performed without using PC's Com Ports

Error -20023 internal software error

Hola a todos. Soy un nuevo usuario del labview y mientras intento aprender algo me he topado con un error que no entiendo a la salida de un filtro:
Software error ocurred in no asociated comand id on axis control error -20023 internal software error please contact ni for suppor
Lo que hace el programa no es problema. La cosa es que si quito el filtro funciona bien.
Para hacerlo funcionar utilizamos una señal simulada de una 9239 creada con MAX.
Si alguien puede darme alguna idea, se lo agradeceré un monton.

Hola Gonzalo el código de error es de un filtro y el VI que estas utilizando para interpretar los errores no te da una descripción adecuada porque ese es para Motion, y en este caso no lo estas usando por eso la descripción del error no tiene sentido.
Aquí el erro puede ser por poner rangos inválidos en la frecuencia de muestre, o corte, o debido a que no hay información en el waveform. La siguiente liga tiene mas información:

Format Into File bug, repost#2

Dear All,
I have found a strange bug/feature in Format Into File. A 3 digit integer number argument (eg. 123) together with the format string " %04d" should result in " 0123" being written to file but instead fails with error cluster;
STATUS=TRUE
CODE=4
SOURCE=Format Into String in format_into_file_bug.vi.
I have appended a demo VI. Can anybody reproduce /explain this? My platform is WINXP Pro, LV6.1

I have tried your demo using LabVIEW V7.11. Worked out of the box, no errors. I do not have LV V6.1 on any machines. Have you tried using the format into string and then the write characters to file? Instead of the format to file function?
