Demo InfoCubes

Are there any demo InfoCubes that I can activate and load data. On a brand new installation of the ECC side that has not yet data, can the demo Cubes retrieve data from the ECC side. Does SAP provide data from the ECC side for demos wihtout waiting for the system to be configured and has transaction data?

What i meant was if yu have R/3 sys and u knwo the type of data to be loaded, you can connect and try.

did u try the other options i gave?
look at some more options like:
You may log on your bi system, and go to se38, excute program "RSO_BC_FILES_IN_BDS" and then input the demo infocube name which you have activated in the system, in process mode, choose " start bdn" and then ,in the next screen, you check the file and click the download button, and you may get the data for this infocube.

Business content in ECC6.0

I am working on ECC 6.0. As it also contains BI , i am trying to access the Business content.I tried to activate business content from RSA1 and i couldn't able to see all the business content which normally available in bi 7.0. I just download IDES ECC5 from http://service.sap.com/swdc
Following menus in summaries as follow:
Installations and Upgrades
SAP Application Components
SAP ERP
SAP ERP 2004
IDES-Version
Windows Server
MS SQL SERVER
After I did install using:
1. Kernel DVD
2. Installation master for win32
3. Export DVDs
I managed to log in and found out that RSA1 is totally empty. There is no demo infocube whatsoever.
I am looking for IDES BW 3.5. with some demo infocube and preinstalled data. Just like R/3 Ides, but BW ides.
Am I downloading a correct software package ? Is IDES BW 3.5 is included in ECC 5.0 software package, which I downloaded from above menu but only missing some items ?
Point will be awarded for any kind of helps !

Creation of new columns and reformatting of data in infocube

Hi,
Although i got the results i wanted in my demo cube, i am not sure how it came to that.
In my flat file, i have entries of 1001 for 0D_CREDITOR, and 82004 for 0FISCPER. However in my infocube, i am seeing entries of 0000001001 for 0D_CREDITOR, 2004008 for 0FISCPER, and a new entry of 2004 for Fiscal Year.
I am sure it must have gone through transformation in either the update or transfer rule. Please explain in finer details if possible.

Hi,
0D_CREDITOR is using ALPHA conversion routine and 0FISCPER using another conversion routine which you can check in the data source itself in BI system.
ALPHA conversion padds up the values with 0's in the left if the values coming from the source is less then the length of the infooobject.
SO if 0D_CREDITOR is of length 10 and the value from source for 0D_CREDITOR is 1000...then it will pad up 6 0's in the left to make it 10.
conversion routine for fiscal period will work in changing the field.

I am doing exactly what has been done in the demo program RSDRi_INFOPROV_READ_DEMO...

Infocube data extraction using ABAP

Hi,
We need to extract Charactristics values data from Infocube but LISTCUBE cannot be used because of reasons of flexibilty.
can any body suggest a way of the data extraction from the Infocube.I tried using the 'RSD_CUBE_DATA_GET' but not to much success also SAP will not support for later releases.
If anybody has a template program can you plaese send it.

Installing the demo content (from the Business Content) is also supposed to kick off the loads. However, in my experience I had to install the content twice to get this to happen -- once in background so the installation of the objects wouldn't time out, and a second time in the foreground which was the only way to get the loads to kick off.
Try that. Let me know if it doesn't work and I'll go back and try to dig up some notes that I had on the subject of installing demo content with data.
**EDIT: Here is a good note to start with about demo data [370397|https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/370397]. If you perform a search for "demo content data" you will get lots of relevant notes that give insights into how demo data is supposed to work (but often doesn't).

Solution Manager 7 EHP1 green/demo install

I am trying to set up a standalone SAP BI server with the demo content so I can test a product that queries InfoCubes. Windows 2003/SQL Server 2008 platform.
I am trying to follow the docs, but they assume some prerequites that are not clearly defined. I have a central system running with a license installed, but I cannot apply SNOTEs because I get an error in connection to destination SAPOSS.
Obviously I am missing something fundamental but I can't find a simple guide on what to do. The documentation seems to run in circles telling me to do things that don't work because I don't have the right SNOTEs installed.
Is there an easy way to get a SAPOSS connection for a non-production system?
Is there a guide that walks you through all the prerequisites for a Solution Manager 7 EHP1 install?

In order to download the SAP Note via SNOTE, the SAP OSS RFC connection should work. If your SAP Router is working fine, then add necessary entries in Tcode OSS1>technical Parameters . Add the router in the system data of the particular system in service market place.

Need help with demo in IDES SEM 4.0/BW 3.50 system

We installed IDES SEM 4.0/BW 3.50 system in order to run some demos and see it suites our business needs. We are interested in producing some reports for the demo to the end-users. Specially interested in the financial accounting area, but there is hardly any data in the IDES system.
How can I access these reports and where can I find whether there is any data associated the InfoProvider/InfoCube? Is there good documentation which describes how to access this data?
Are we doing something wrong?

there are sap demo cubes, the data is provided by sap in csv files,
check if you can use co-pa demo cube

The cube is being made as a exact copy of an existing activated and correctly working cube.
Can anyone shed some light on this?

ERROR WHILE UPDATING TO INFOCUBE

I am using a flat file to load data from datasource into infocubes.The data reaches PSA tables with no errors but after the execution of DTP , the monitors shows up Error Updating to infocube, intitally I thought there could be some problem in the data format of certain fields in the flat file but everything looks to be correct, there are no errors in the transformation rules.
Here's the ST22 analysis :
what happened?
The current application program detected a situation which really
should not occur. Therefore, a termination with a short dump was
triggered on purpose by the key word MESSAGE (type X).
Termination occurred in the ABAP program "CL_RSAWBN_NAV_TRACE===========CP" -
in "DUMP".
The main program was "RSAWBN_START ".
In the source code you have the termination point in line 42
of the (Include) program "CL_RSAWBN_NAV_TRACE===========CM004".
I have been deleting requests from the infocube , datasources and deleting entries from PSA but always endup getting the "Error while updating to Infocube"
Have to figure out the solution as the planning team is waiting for me to copy the actual data to the plan cube

Considering today's date(18 Apr 2008) for example:

0FISCPER           0042008
0FISCPER3         0042008 (I think this can have additional periods as well, not sure though)
0FISCVARNT       No idea about this.

Looks like you have changed the fields on the infocube.Just wanted to make sure that did u delete the 'data' from the cube 'ZMD_Y_MR' in the testing system before u make the traansport?
for any changes in the cube fields (except addition of new char) u may need to delete the cube data..

Why do you want to change the ownership of the demo pieces. If you do the free of charge delivery, the company is going to lose the ownership of the piece. Why don't you consider using the CONSIGNMENT concept for this demo pieces. The stock will be maintained as special stock and whenever it is returned, will be added to the plant stock.

Help needed in storing data in DSO or InfoCube

   I have a set of data which comes from R/3 in the following Format:
FG     Base Model     Option 1     Option 2     Option 3
FG1     BM 1                       Opt1       Opt2         opt3
FG2     BM1                       Opt 1       Opt2        Opt 4
FG3     BM3                       Opt5       Opt6        Opt7
The data gets stored in the PSA in the above format.
But i want to load the data from the PSA to the DSO or InfoCube in the following format.I want that if i do a display data in the DSO or the Infocube the output should look like the below :

FG1     BM1                      Opt3
