Demo of Hyperion Workforce module?

Hi,
Does anyone know where I can find a demo of Hyperion Workforce module?
I want to see how action code translate to Status. How, employee type and FTE affects Salary.
Like to see how transfers, terminations and LOA are effected.

Hi,
Please find the below documentation URL for the Hyperion workforce module. It explains all the topics(Business Rules and form design) of workforce module.
http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E12825_01/epm.111/hp_11113_wfp_admin.pdf
Thanks,

  • Hyperion Workforce planning Vs HRMS

Can someone tell me what are the major advantages of Hyperion Workforce Planning module over Oracle HRMS?
Waiting for expert suggestions! Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
For creating Employee dimension and associating the attributes like Race, Gender etc to the employee.
Step 1 :First create the attribute dimension with the members in the planning application for Race, gender etc and associate them to Employee Dimension.
step 2: Create the .csv for the 1000 employee to load that in the planning application.
That file will have all the columns like
    Example:
Parent, Employee, Alias: Default, Data Storage, Aggregation (Wrkforce), Attribute.
    "Existing Employee",XYZ,XYZ,Store,+,Male.
Use the Outline Load utility to load the Employees under Parent "Existing Employees". This way you can load the metadata for
your Employee dimension and also your attribute will be associated at the same time. Once your dimension or metadata for employee gets loaded,
you can then load the data corresponding to the Employees.
    Hope you understand...
    Thanks,
    Sourabh

  • Hyperion Workforce Vs Oracle HRMS Budgeting-HR

    Hi All,
We are implementing Hyperion planning and as client uses Oracle payroll they are insisiting to use oracle HRMS budgeting.
I found Oracle is not as flexible as hyperion workforce in terms of using multiple factors for budgeting like - Grade, dependents, cost centres etc.
Where as Oracle allows to create budget on llimited factors of any of Job, Position, Grade and organization or combination but I am not sure it accomodates employee transfers, planned departures and change positions which are available in workforce.
Did anyone faced the same issue of selecting either Oracle HRMS or Hyperion workforce? Please let me know and if you can list what are the benefits and limitations of each applications it would be great.
    Thanks,
    Ravi

    Hi:
My choice will always be Oracle Hyperion. This is also Oracle recommendation. Other than the benefits you listed, the biggest drawback of HR Budget is that it cannot derive the budget which I hope Hyperion does. HR Budget only captures the amount derived outside system. Moreover its a tedious process to update and maintain budgets in HR if your line items are a lot.
    My reco will be HYPERION!!!

  • Hyperion Workforce Planning - 100K employees - 11.1.2.2

    Hi to all,
I am facing quite a challenge on this one. My clients requirements for a budget/simulation employee application is to load all existing employees into Hyperion workforce Planning.
I know it sound odd loading all the 100K employees from Peoplesoft, I finished installing Workforce, next step is to start stress testing by loading 10K employees,20K etc.
Any of you has similar experiences with large employee numbers? Any Issues with the existing employees forms?
    Please share your thoughts.
    Regards to All

If it is the default admin account then there shouldn't be a problem because the native SID should stay the same.
If it is a different native admin account then this will change and you would have to update it in the HSP_USERS table.
Sometimes it is easier to log into planning on the source environment, update the application owner to be admin, create an application on your target environment with admin, then migrate.
Once the migration has finished you can always change the application owner to another admin account.

  • How to install the Hyperion workforce and capital?

I am using version 11.1.1.3, and I want to create the Hyperion planning for workforce and capital, in the planning configuration, I have checked the "Capital" and "workforce". But when I want to create the application, I can only see plan1,plan2,plan3 as the optional planning type, and I cannot see a planning type called "workforce" or "Capital". What should I do?

For workforce/capex to work you need to make sure they are ticked when you originally configure planning.
When you create a planning app you also need to make sure the options for capex/workforce are ticked.
If you have done all that have you initialized workforce and capex in planning, Edit > Initialize Workforce

  • Is there a complete demo on Hyperion Planning?

Other products normally attach a complete demo for reference, I can't see it in Hyperion Planning. Might because I can't configure application wizard correctly, does the sample application can totally explain Hyperion's idea and thinking?
I don't think documentation of Hyperion Planning is a good candidate.

I think that you are looking for a sample application for Planning, is that correct?
If so then the later versions (9.3 I think onwards) have a shipped sample application that can be installed from management/creation of application area. In fact I think that 9.2 also contained.
The documentation explains how to install.
    Hope this helps

  • Hyperion Workforce Planning - Rules migrated in LCM not showing in Calc Mgr

1-Having trouble with workforce rules (as well as capex and rulesets) that are not showing up in calc manager (in system view) in our QA environment after I migrate them from Dev. New rules were created by a consultant we had in dev and on migrating them forward (along with the new forms), they are not appearing in Calc Manager (in system view). However, I am able to select them when editing forms as part of the loading/save configuration in execution of forms. Anyone have any input on why this might be happening and how we can go about getting these to show up in Calc manager?
I have checked to ensure that they were deployed in Dev in case that rolls forward. Another odd item I'm noticing is while Calc Manager will reflect the most recent revised date in Dev of rules I've updated, it is reflecting an older date to that of when it was last edited/created by the consultant we had. I am beginning to think this is the root cause of the problems as Shared Services not getting updated properly to perform the migration.
2-Also, I've come across a problem where I had an old version of a rule in QA that did not want to accept the new version I was copying forward from Dev. The system has indicated to other admins that I have it locked (presumably after the LCM) while I am not accessing it (and it gives me no such indication). When looking in calc manager, QA had the old version revision and last modified info, while Dev had revised info (and the LCM file as well). Have tried restarting Planning services to unlock it, but to no avail. Any input on how to unlock a rule that you are not currently in (my first assumption is something similar to unlocking locked objects out of EAS, but nothing there to work with).
In attempt to bypass this problem, I tried deleting the old rule out of QA and copying back in the revised version from Dev. This removed it from calc manager, but the form appears to still be using the old rule (I've tried removing the reference and then reapplying it with no positive results). To solve my short term problem, I've created a copy of the rule under a different name and copied it forward, but any tips would be great in case I come across this problem in the future (and so I might be able to remove this locked rule that serves no purpose).
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Otherwise, I may need to go with a ticket to Oracle, but hoping these are common issues that someone else has come across.
    FYI - Currently on 11.1.2.1.
    Thanks,
    Jonathan

    Thanks for the tip.
I have tried a direct import/export in Calc Manager and have been able to move rules successfully. However, we have built a lot of our rules using the Rule Designer and on direct import, I seem to lose the layout and the script merges into one. As a short terms means to fix this, I've done the good old fashion copy and paste to create the new rules in QA.
In Shared Services, we are using the Define Migration function to extract what I need from Dev and then manually copying the files over to our QA server to import via the same in Shared Services (\\servername\c$\Oracle\Middleware\user_projects\epmsystem_qa\import_export\username@MSAD). I know that's a bit vague, but am I missing anything there?
I apologize if my queries are not clear. This is all new for us as we are in the process of transitioning from a internally developed relational/essbase planning application to Hyperion Planning while we also recently transitioned from using essbase 7.1.6 to 11.1.2.1 (clean install so no migration issues).
    Thanks again for the information.

  • ODI and Hyperion Planning Module

Hi, is anyone using the planning module with odi? I'd like to know how to delete a dimension.
    Thanks in advance,
    Roberta

    Hi Roberta,
You can use the ODI IKM to delete members by setting the operation column to delete but Planing does not allow a dimension to be deleted. At least as far as I know. If you need to delete a Planning dimension you might post or search the Planning forum.
    Thanks,
    Denis

  • Hyperion Workforce Smart list not working correctly

We are customizing the Employee Type Smart list and added few more enties to it. But in the Web form when tried to select an entry its is showing the Label values and not the Name for newly added entries but the original options are working correctly. e.g.
    Name Value
    Regular LABEL_REGULAR
    Contractor LABEL_CONTRACTOR
    Temporary LABEL_TEMPORARY
    Board LABEL_BOARD
    EBA LABEL_EBA..
now in the form drop down I get values as below,
    Regular
    Contractor
    Temporary
    LABEL_BOARD
    LABEL_EBA
Not sure why its working wierd for new entries. Version is 11.2.2

    Are smartlists assigned to members?

  • Integration with EBS HR & Fixed Asset module

Let me know the integration possibilities between:
    a) Oracle's EBS's HRMS module and Workforce Planning
    b) Oracle's EBS's Fixed Assets module and Workforce Capex Planning
    c) Oracle's EBS's AP module and Financial Planning

I am assuming you are implementing Hyperion Workforce/Capex out of the box, right?
In either case (out of the box/custom)... you have (at least) options.
    1) Export a flat file from the EBS HRMS/Fixed Asset system and load via FDM.
    2) Have FDM connect (via an FDM script) to the EBS HRMS/Fixed Asset database system and pull the correct data needed. This option is assuming you know the HRMS/Fixed Asset database table structure.
I know this is a FDM forum but another option is Oracle Data Integrator (ODI).

  • Hyperion Dimensions

as per oracle recommendation how many dimensions we should have for planing, Capex and workforce module separately.

    Hi Sandeep
If 20 dimensions are having performances issues then why there is such limit in Hyperion Planning. In corporate level there is dense structure involve in Budgeting which sometimes have requirements of more dimensions. As a result performance issues raised. So, there must be certain solution for such kind of organization structure.
I hope for your prompt and conviced reply.
