Demo of multiple questions on one slide

URGETNT::::
I need a link to multiple questions (like 5) on one slide and then be able to submit the responses to an e-mail address.  Can someone please reply with a link asap before 11am (EDT) today?  I need to show it for a presentation.
Thanks..

Hello,
Sorry but apparently we are living in different timezones, so missed your answer because I was in dreamland.
If you want to report to a LMS, you probably want to have a score for each of the questions on the slide. That is a problem with the default Question slides, because they are always scored black/white: only when all the answers are correct will the user gets a score, otherwise it will be 'zero'. Partial scoring is not possible with default Question slides. Please, if you have some time, fill in a feature request to have this functionality high on the priority list of the Adobe developers.
Two possibilities:
If you want to continue using the default Question slides, have each question on a different slide and try to make the experience for the user as fluent as possible.
Create your own question slides, using the standard objects, user variables and advanced actions. But I warn you: this gives you total control, it is possible to report to a LMS but it wil mean a lot more development time. If you are interested about this second approach, I have been publishing some articles about customizing quizzes. Some of them are mentioned in this blog post:

  • Four yes, no type of questions in one slide

What I like to do is to put four true-or-false (yes-or-no) type of questions in one slide if possible.
I achieved this using yes, no widget (I cannot remember where I got it)
But in this widget, I can just choose yes or no without any feedback.
But someone frome the top asked me to add feedback on each question.
Can we achieve this kind of functionality using advance action?
If possible, I would like to make each question appear one at a time.
For example, the first question appear. After users select either yes or no, then
appropriate feedback appear with arrow buttow. If youers click on the arrow button,
the second yes-or-no question will appear etc. I attached a picture to illustrate my point.
What is the best practice to achieve this kind of activity? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Lieve is right, whether you are deploying it for LMS or not is vital.
Also if you like you can insert 8 transparent buttons for i.e. 2 for each section, under button properties if you like you can set Reporting to -- Include in Quiz, a button would by default have Hint, Success Failure caption, enable the one you like, also you can initiate an action to make rest appear once you click arrow.
This might be a little longer route to achive it, but should work.
    Thanks,

  • Insert multiple images in one slide and setting dsiplay time for each

    Hi,
    I am using Adobe Captivate4.
I could not able to insert multiple images in one slide and set display time for each image.
    Need help in this regard.

This is not about background image.
I have 3 images and want to insert in one slide only. I could able to insert image1 for first time, but could not able to insert image2 and image3.
I have followed the same steps: Insert Menu>Image.

  • Several questions in one slide

Hi. Can we have several questions in one slide? Example of a quiz true / false. Is it possible to have three true / false questions on the same page?
This page contains a single "Send" button. Button that links to a single page response. Is it possible ? Thanks

Each radiobuttons widget has an associated variable, that will store the answer. In this case either 'True' or 'False'. You can insert that variable in a Text Caption, using the small X button in the Format accordion of the Properties panel for the Text Caption. When the user clicks one of the radiobuttons, this caption will show the chosen answer. If you want to be able to control the content for the variable (perhaps resetting it to empty) you need the enhanced version created by Jim Leichliter, aka CaptivatePro/Captivatedev. It is available for free on his website (Google Jim Leichliter).

  • Multiple Quiz Questions on one slide

    Hello Captivators,
I am using Captivate 3. It seems a waste of space to have one
quiz question per slide. Is there a way to have more than one
    question per slide?
    Thanks,
    eholz1

    Hi eholz1
Sorry, but there is no current way to combine multiple
questions on a single slide. If you would like to suggest this
feature to be considered in a future release, you may do so by
    clicking
here and completing the form you will find there.

  • How can I get multiple likert questions on one slide?

    Hi,
I have 9 questions I want to ask in a Likert survey in Captivate 7.
When I insert a Likert question slide, it defaults to only show 1 question per slide.
I want the learner to see all  9 questions on 1 slide.
Can anyone tell me how to do this?
    thanks!

In Captivate 7, if you select the Likert scale and go to the Quiz Properties tab, under the General tab you can change the Answers from 1 to a higher number and get a nice list of items to go with your disagree to agree list.
That's my relevant to the thread comment and here for posterity to anyone looking for the answer to it.
But I came here because I want a total from the Likert and it doesn't exist during the lesson, since it doesn't report scoring back to the student.
I've been reading your older blogs. Lilibiri, great stuff that makes me wish there were a simpler way in the newer version, but I can't find it. Basically we are creating a question series that becomes a self evaluation checklist, and want to assign the point range to the answers, 1 for disagree up to 5 for Agree, adding up "positive traits".
Was originally thinking of using multiple choice set as a pretest but there's a bunch of variables and actions to write for that, and I saw your post about a simple text entry, which looks more manageable and I'll have to figure that out.
But the simple clean familiar look of the Likert ... I wish there were an easy way to just get those numbers in a total, now that it's in version 7 even. So annoying that it pushes my procrastination button and I don't even want to work on the rest of my lesson!

  • Can you put multiple transitions on one slide??

I'm working on a storyboard for a iPhone app using MockApps templates. The whole presentation walks the user step by step on how my app will work. Its a interactive keynote where all the buttons have hyperlinks to the corresponding slides. Each of my slides has about 2 or 3 buttons each with a hyperlink pointing towards different slides. I figured out how to get the transitions from slide to slide. But is there a way to have a transition for the hyperlinks? So essentially I'll have three different transitions for three separate hyperlinks going to three different slides, but the three hyperlinks are in one slide.
    It'll flow like this:
Slide 1 has three buttons, ButtonA ButtonB ButtonC (all buttons have been hyperlinked)
ButtonA takes you to Slide 2 using Perspective transition
ButtonB takes you to Slide 4 using Object Push transition
ButtonC takes you to Slide 7 using Revolve transition
    Is that possible???
    Thanks!

I suspect you'll need a custom question in that case. If there is only one correct answer, maybe you could try the Advanced Answer option that has a possible action.

  • How can I create a collage of multiple photos on one slide using Premiere Elements 4.0?

    Hi all!
I recently bought Adobe Premiere Elements 4.0. I'm having trouble with something and was wondering if anyone could offer any assistance?
I'm creating a slideshow using photos and videos, but with my photos I want to be able to create a few collages, by using multiple photos on the one slide. Usually you just have one photo on the screen and it moves on to the next one, but I'd like to have eg. the occassional slide that I can have say 4 photos overlapping onto each other, like a photo collage. Does this make sense and does anyone know how I can do this? I've searched the instructions and can't figure it out and the Adobe support line said they couldn't tell me but pointed me to this forum...
Any help would be much appreciated!
    Thanks :)

There are basically two ways, with a variation, to do this.
First, you could size the still images in Photoshop, or other, for the size needed on your Project's screen and then use Motion to position the image where you want it. The variation on this would be to use Motion>Scale to size the image and then Motion to place it where you wanted. You would stack the images on various Video Tracks as necessary.
The other way would be to place the images on the correct Video Track and use the Track Matte to limit the view of that image. You will probably use one of the two variations from the first way (Motion>Scale and/or Motion) to get the image where you want it, but then the Track Matte (building in Titler is easy) to eliminate any extraneous image data.

  • More than one questions on one slide

    Hi
I am new to Captivate and i was trying to create a quiz where i want more than one questions on a single slide, Is that possible? if yes how?
    Thanks in advance
    Nik

    Hello,
In this blog posting one of the use cases I tried to explain is having more than one T/F question on a slide, using widgets for customized questions. There are more blog posting pointing to customizing questions.

  • Multiple transitions in one slide show

When using iDVD is there a way to apply transitions onto specific slides in a slideshow so that one slide show can have multiple transitions throughout? also is there a way to control the time of each specific time - ex one should be for 5 secs and the next for 3 secs?

You may want to consider an alternate app that specializes in slideshows.

  • Several T/F questions on one slide.

Hello a Dept rep wants to have 5 true or false questions on one page. Is this possible with Captivate 7? (may not be a requirement to report answers)
Side question: Are we able to use more than 8 options in the matching sections?

Have a look at: Widgets and Custom Questions - part 1 - Captivate blog  in which I explain how to create some custom question slides.
Although it was written for an older version, the widgets are now replaced by learning interactions, but the work flow is pretty much the same.
Forgot about Matching, no that is the limit. You could create a custom one with Drag&Drop?

  • Help - Multiple Buttons on One Slide

I have a slide with three navigational buttons on it:  Menu, Back, Next.  I have the pause option checked on the Menu button and I have it set to pause at the end of the slide.  These work fine.  Menu jumps to one slide.  Back goes to the previous slide.  Next goes to the next slide.  Not sure if you need this information but wanted to add it anyway.
Then I have two additional buttons, "Right Answer" and "Wrong Answer".  I did no want to use the Quiz Maker to create some "knowledge checks" so I am creating "interactivity" using buttons and click boxes.  (I am using Quiz Maker for the Final Exam portion of the lesson and did not want the "Review Quiz" piece at then to include the Knowledge Checks.)  When the user clicks the Right Answer button, I want a caption that I have built to show.  If the user clicks the Wrong Answer, I want the user to show another caption and another button (that when clicked, will take the user to the slide containing that information so they can review).  The two captions I mentioned here are hidden until the user clicks.
This is not working as I envisioned it.  For some reason, only when clicking the Right Answer button does the action do as expected.  When clicking the Wrong Answer, it does not.  Can someone please help me figure out what I have wrong here?

    Hi there
Likely what you are encountering is something we all have to deal with. The fact that once a Button has been clicked, the pause is released and the playhead continues merrily along until something else pauses it. Perhaps another Button with the pause point staged slightly farther ahead in time.
Imagine your Captivate movie to be very much like a stream. Imagine you start where the stream begins and you insert a little boat. It floats along until something stops it. Perhaps a stick lying across the stream. That stick is like the pause point on the Button. So let's say you click the Button by pressing it down. Imagine you have pressed the little boat down just as you pressed the button. It slides under the stick and continues until it is stopped again.
What you need is a way to keep the boat paused at the stick. So you need to perform an action. Not only do you press down on the boat, but you reposition it further upstream again so it can float back to the stick where it waits again to be dealt with.
So to accomplish this in Captivate, normally you create an Advanced Action that carries out the act of showing the Caption you want to show, then it repositions the playhead backwards a bit. You can also accomplish this by assigning one of the actions on the button click to be to Jump to the previous slide. And perhaps you time that previous slide as short as can be. Maybe .1 seconds or so.
If you wish to tackle the Advanced Actions avenue, see if the video recording linked below helps.

  • Keynote (iPad) - Slideshow of multiple images on one slide

is there something similar to the osx keynote-action where you select a bunch of images of different sizes, apply an action to them such that they are uniformly resized and cycled?
how can that be achieved on the ipad?
    cheers, heinz.

    dear bwfromspringhill,
i have several osx-keynote presentations which extensively use that 'slideshow on one slide' action which, as you mentioned, doesn't work on the ipad. when copying these presentations to the ipad, such slideshows are transformed into animations where each image gets a fade-in along with a fade-out property. (since i am using the german version, i don't really know the exact names for those properties, but i am sure you'll know what i mean.)
however, those transformed slideshows most of the time get messed up somehow, positions of images change and also masked images are displayed incorrectly.
it would help a lot to have an easy workflow for quickly producing such slideshows directly inside keynote for ipad. say, i have some imported images of varying size and define transitions between them. the problem: when resizing and masking them to a common size (hard enough on ipad), moving them one on top of the other will make it impossible to select one after the other in order to assign the fade-in and fade-out transitions. i would have to do that before the resizing, but for 10+ images that's real cumbersome....

  • Multiple FIB on one slide

    Hello,
I recently updated to Captivate 5.5 and noticed that the Fill-in-the-blank quiz component is different.  How can I add 2 blanks on one Fill-in-the-blank quiz slide so that they have to get both blanks correct to get the point for the slide? This used to be possible with Captivate 4, but I don't see the option to do it anymore.
    Thanks!

Thank you for your response and the warm welcome, Rick!
Your tip is helpful for making a standard FIB question, however, what if I needed to ask a question, such as the following:
"Name 2 terms that are used to describe 'XYZ'"
I would like to add two blank entry spaces below the question and not have the blanks be part of the question.
Basically, how can I ask the learner to list multiple items and ensure it is tested and reported just like the other questions in the quiz?
    Thanks,
    Barb

  • Linking multiple images to one rollover hotspot.  Multiple hotspots on one slide.

Does anyone know if there is a widget or work around or something that will allow me to do this? My job depends on it
    Thanks!

As long as you're not worried about output to HTML5, the Event Handler widget is probably your best bet:
    http://www.infosemantics.com.au/adobe-captivate-widgets/event-handler-interactive
I think what you're probably trying to do is have multiple images appear or disappear when a user mouses over a given hot spot. Is that correct?  If so, then all you really need is a single Event Handler widget attached to a highlight box set to 0% Alpha (to make it act as a transparent hotspot).  You can execute one Advanced Action to SHOW the images via the On Success event set to Roll Over, and a different Advanced Action set to the Roll Out even on the Failure side of the widget to HIDE all the same images.  Set the widget preference to Reset Success Fail Criteria on Action so that you can perform the mouseover and mouseout actions repeatedly.
You can even stack multiple widgets onto a single object, each widget can be set to listen for a different mouse event and do something different depending on what the user does.
