Tried to copy/paste from an article to my web site and got a "cannot copy /paste " warning and was directed to a security perferences site that said that Mozilla Rich Text Editing demo page will not work.
Tried to find my Firefox profile directory using the start menu and was directed to hit enter to go to web. Feel like i am getting run around.

Let's start with something very basic, and that is, you do not need to use the paste button on most websites. The button just reads what is on your clipboard and sticks it into the form. You can do that yourself using Ctrl+v or right-click>Paste.
For your security, I suggest using those standard Windows keyboard shortcuts (Ctrl+x cut, Ctrl+c copy, Ctrl+v paste) or the context menu.
Occasionally you will find a paste button that runs a clean-up script or otherwise does something useful. That is where the (admittedly a bit complicated) instructions come in handy.
To open your active profile folder, you can use:
Help > Troubleshooting Information > "Show Folder" button
Which help article are you using for the modifications?
Finally, please be cautious in opening up your clipboard to sites. You may have stuff you copied from other pages or other programs that you do not want to share with most sites.

Unable to run reports demo pages

When I bring up the http://myserver.x.com:7779 and go to the demo pages for business intelligence and forms and then to report services. click on jsp or the web paper report, enter a valid connect string. I then get a REP-501 Unable to connect to the specified database.
I checked the connection by tnsping and sqlplus on myserver.
If I connect with scott/tiger@discodemo (the discovery database) then I'll get a REP-3000: Internal error starting Oracle Toolkit.
Any ideas?

Hi Roger - try editing your MDC\tomcat\conf\catalina.properties file and add the following line at the end:
org.apache.jasper.compiler.Parser.STRICT_QUOTE_ESCAPING=false
This tells Tomcat to be flexible with double and single quoting in the CW code and allowed me to run the reports, though I'm still not getting the data I'd expect that's probably another issue.

Your printer should have a little window on the top for you to set the Language, Power Setting, Paper Size and Print Quality etc.

Demo page ok/other color not ok

When I print a demo page, everything looks glorious. But when I print anything else (Word documents), the red comes out a very pale orange. My black cartridge is at 68%, cyan at 41%, magenta at 30%, and yellow at 60%. Is there anything I can do, or do I need a new printer?Thank you in advance for any help you can offer.

Hi , I would be happy to assist you with your Laserjet CP1514ni printer. I understand your demo page prints well, but when you print from the computer the colors do not appear as you expect them to. I suggest using the following document as it will guide you through the necessary troubleshooting steps: HP Color LaserJet CP1514n, CP1515n, and CP1518ni Printers - Resolving Print Quality Issues. This will help you to determine if it is time for a new printer or not. I personally suspect the issue may have something to do with the print settings since the demo page prints fine. good demo page is an indication that the hardware is not the root cause. Customers problem in Designer Demos page

Hello, a customer called in complaining about not working viewlets in page http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/designer/demos.htm
down in the Database Design and Generation zone wheras they worked eg in the Repository Object Browser (ROB) zone . I have tested them with the same result.
Could you pls fix this or explain the problem ?

I am using setcurrentCategory() method to set category and Subcategory respectively.

Problem Summary
1) When I click on Category Name it ges to SubCategory page correctly
But When I click on SubCategory Form link Category Name, the Products Page does not appear at all.
I have tested the Tables separately and they were appearing correctly in Master Detail relationship.
Partial Triggers for Products Table is set to :SubCategory.
2) I see that param_CategoryId and param_SubCategoryId goes as null to setcurrentCategory() method
when I click CategoryName on SubcategoryPage.

1) When I set the parameters to hard coded value it directly comes to Products Page(expected) as
the system is designed to render Products Form if both Category Id and SubCategoryId is set.
But what surprises me is it still does not shows any value for Products even though my setCurrentCategory() method
does a voProduct.executeQuery();
I see the log messages :: Where clause for Product : ProductEO.CATEGORY_ID = 4 but still nothing even though my query in backend return rows.
2) When I do a row.id.inputValue it throws error : The class 'java.lang.Long' does not have the property 'inputValue'.
3) A sample log file too big to upload here
But I see that pageFlowScope.CategoryId never has a value.

I have used oracle ADF demo site for demo work related to graphs.
I want to download the source code of this demo. I mean jspx file, backing bean and style classes.
Is there any way I can download this source code?I believe there is no sense to use it without downloading it's code.

The demo WAR is a JDeveloper Project packaged into a WAR file.
So creating a dummy application or open an existing application.
Select 'File' ----> 'New' --> 'Projects' and select Project from WAR.

How do I change text size in auto-page tabs

Now I'm trying to make the page tabs fit across my page. I've got several pages and will probably have more. I don't want all of them on the bar as they'll be linked in my text. I would also like to make the text smaller and maybe reformat to another font or style.
I don't find anything on this but maybe I'm not searching the right terminology.

You're referring to the navbar. You can remove any page from the navbar by going to the Inspector/Page/Page pane while viewing the page and unchecking the box to include that page in the navbar:
To change the font size of the navbar text see this post by Cyclosaurus: How do you change the size and font of...: Apple Support Communities.
Wyodor also posted a way to change the font size: Darkroom Navigation Font Size: Apple Support Communities.
If you only have a couple of pages you can create your own text based navbar and complete control over the font, size, rollover color, etc. This demo page has an example: Text Based Navbar. Be sure to use Web Safe Fonts.

If it's a one page PDF file just drag it onto the webpage and resize to fit. If it's a multi page PDF file you can add it as in this demo page: Scrolling Text Box

Since MMe will be no more in about 11 months I suggest you create a Google calendar and imbed it into one of your web pages like in this demo page: Google calendar.

I'm trying to show a client how to run iWeb so he can tweak his own site on the road. He doesn't know html. I don't want to have to write out a complicated list of instructions for him.
Is there a way IN iWeb to have an iWeb page open as a 'new' window?
He's a songwriter ... wants visitors to be able to open a song and have it play while they continue to browse his site.

When you create a text link to an file you can set it to open in another window by setting it up as an external page checking the appropriate checkbox in the Inspector/Link pane. . You would have to upload the file to the Music folder on the iDisk beforehand and then use the following URL:
http://homepage.mac.com/youraccount_name/.Music/FileName
Note the dot before Music in the URL. Don't forget it. See the link titled *"This sentence is linked to a jpg file."* in this demo page. It's linked to a photo but the principle is the same.

I'm unable to create a working hyperlink to a YouTube page. I have permission to link to the content. What might be the issue here?

How are you trying to add the link? The method I prefer is to go to the Youtube page and get the Embed code and put that in an html snippet as shown on this demo page: Adding YouTube & Vimeo Videos.

Photo Gallery Demo Problem

I'm trying to understand the Photo Gallery demo so I can
replicate the function for use on various sites. I've copied the
html, xml, javascript and some of the photo file elements to my
hard drive. I initially modified the file structures to something
more of my liking, but had some problems with the links. I've since
mimicked the structures so I can reduce the initial errors, but I
am stumped at the var dsGallery and var dsPhotos statements that
dynamically link to the China, Paris and Egypt photo databases. In
the original dynamic definition, DreamWeaver only parses the
dsGalleries XML definition, not defining the dsGallery and dsPhoto
nodes. I wasn't too concerned about that given the variable nature,
but nothing except the pull-down menu and controls displayed in the
browser. DreamWeaver shows correct parsing of the dsGalleries XML,
dsGallery and dsPhoto nodes only when I eliminate the dynamic
linking and set it to one of the static links (Egypt). This fails
in the browser to link to the data, giving a display that shows the
correct number of empty thumbnail frames but without the displayed
photos, no Spry effects, and no large photo display. I'm sure I
have multiple reference errors, but I don't see them. Any ideas?

FLV file not showing up on page

I am a novice with Dreamweaver. I created a site several
years ago using just Contribute 2. Yesterday I used Adobe Media
Encoder to encode some QTs to FLV (.f4v) files using a preset for
Flash 8 compatible FLV files. I created a completely new html page
in Dreamweaver and inserted the FLV file onto the page. When I use
"live view" the page works and plays the FLV file perfectly. Then I
save the file and save to the server. The page updates perfectly
EXCEPT for the flv file. In Firefox it says I need the latest Flash
version, (which I don't) in Safari, it just shows up as a blank
spot on the page, but there is a warning at the bottom of the page
and it allows you to see what the error is.
The browsers "activity" window says:

Did part of the code - the FLVplayer - not get uploaded to
the server maybe? What could have gone wrong and how do I fix it. I
did not write special code to get the FLV file to play on the web,
I just used the insert function and thought that Dreamweaver was
going to do the rest for me "behind the scenes."
Any help would be much appreciated. I read as many "help"
files as I could, but I just don't know what I'm searching for. The
website is www.veralith.com. I'm trying to update the "demo" page
by adding about two dozen FLV files, eventually. Right now, there's
only supposed to be one on that page, but it's not showing
up.

Hmm. I just did a test with CS3 and it did exactly that.
1. Created a new HTML page and saved it in the defined site
folder
2. Insert->Media->Flash Video
3. Browse to the .flv file (also in the local site)
4. Chose a skin
5. [OK]
6. Save
A dialog box appeared informing me that it created a Scripts
folder and
that I should upload that folder to my server.
There are now two .swf files in the same folder as the new
.html file.
They were not there before.
