What's the need to shadow my postings and basically post the very info, asking the same question?

    Hi,
    the demo accounts are mentioned within the readme files. In most cases the OE account is used, which is a standard database demo schema. However, the password is defined by the person installing the database.

  • App express passwords stopped working

    Are the passwords to log into application express different from those in the host database? If not, why can't I log into app express with sys and system passwords? I can't even log in with the HR demo passwords.
    I have a local 9i test database on which I installed application express. The combination had been working well enough to create new users, import spreadsheets, etc. That was about 2 months ago and because of time commitments I have not been able to use it since. Till now.
    When I tried to log in earlier this week, with my well documented passwords (yes, I did write them down), none of them would work. I could not even log in with sys or system or other dba passwords that I use. However, I can log into my 9i database with sqlplus as well as sqldeveloper and enterprise manager console as the test users I was using for app express.
    So, any suggestions as to what I can do to fix this????
    Are the passwords for app express stored in special tables separate from where they are stored in the 9i database? (Somehow, I doubt it). If so how do I reset them??
    Or is my only choice to drop the flows_xxxxx tables and reinstall them?
    I would really like to track down what happened before I start relying heavily on App express.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Glenn

    Hi Scott
    As I said at the beginning of this thread, I was once able to enter both as admin and as user. Because of other commitments, a considerable amount of time passed where I wasn't able to spend time with App Express.
    When I started this thread, I was not able to log in with the passwords I had written down (including upper/lower case) for either admin or workspace.
    Somehow, over the last two days, something changed and I was able to connect as admin. I immediately changed all the passwords - simplified them - such as admin/admin and also created two more users with admin privs.
    Today, I can no longer connect on the admin page - BUT I can can connect with my user identity to the user / pass / workarea secton. Go figure.
    Our local systems are so heavily locked down, I can't help but feel that something in the security settings is interfering.
    However, no more time will be wasted on this system. Our servers just got upgraded to 10g so I am now waiting for my computer to be reimaged so I can get rid of the multiple local databases and install a personal 10 for development work.
    Thanks for your help.

  • Select List not working in report - see demo

    Ok..
    I have created a demo on APEX 4.1.1.. & 4.2 and it fails when 10 chars or more are in list, with 103 rows or more
    http://apex.oracle.com/pls/apex/f?p=13679:1

    You're using the <tt>apex_item.select_list_from_query</tt> method, which returns a VARCHAR2 value which has a maximum size of 4000 bytes when retrieved in a SQL query.
    Switch to the <tt>apex_item.select_list_from_query_xl</tt> method to return a CLOB value up to 32K in size, as discussed in the report error: ORA-06502: PL/SQL: numeric or value error: character string b. (The problem there was that you didn't clearly indicate exactly how the list was generated.)

  • Error running Web Services in DEMO : User is not Authorized error

    Hi all,
    We created a Web Service in our DEMO installation of ERP9 Tools 8.97, Database Local SSE (User - DEMO, Password-DEMO). The Web Service is using JDE Vanilla BSFN - B0100021 - Formatted Address and created through JDeveloper using JDE BSSV tool.
    When we are running the Web Service (TestCustomWebService) from JDeveloper (Right Click and Run) it is providng an url (http://moequbal:8988/context-root-JP55HOL/TestCustomWebServiceSoapHttpPort) and when we are pasting the URL in the browser and entering a valid value in the Input field and pressiing the 'Invoke' Button, the following Error pops up -
    "<env:Envelope
    xmlns:env="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/"
    xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema"

    <faultstring>Internal Server Error (Caught exception while handling request: oracle.e1.bssvfoundation.exception.E1AuthorizationException: User is not authorized to invoke this published business service)</faultstring>
    </env:Fault>
    </env:Body>
    </env:Envelope>"
    Please help.
    Thanks,
    Tufan

    I can confirm that the lab and BSSV functionaly works in DEMO, I have it working nicely. However, I dont think you can deploy this to a Business Services server. I haven't tried as yet. but you can test all the published BSSV via jDeveloper to verify that you have the correct code. It starts O4CJ and web services locally and brings up an input web page to enter the AN8, the data outputs to XML.
    Tip:
    1) Make sure that you have an entry in the P00950 security workbench. .
    2) make sure that you select the BSSV item (i.e CustomAddressManager) and select 'set to publish' available (this only appears on checkin) when you check the object in. Make sure that you have entries in the F98601, 602, 603 tables in Object Librarian
    3) Open P00950 select published bssv, click on the grid line (1st column) in the grid form of W00950X click the searchlight, in W00950U hit find you must see your published BSSV in here.
    if not you go back to step 2. You must 'set to publish' for the bssv i.e CustomAddressManager object. Otherwise you will not be able to see in the W00950U form.
    4) Repeat for the 2nd column and Make sure you select the 'Secure by Method' this will take you to W00950Y form and you must select your bssv and select the 'Allow Execute' on the bottom of the form.
    Once you have these in place then you will not get the 'Not authorized' error messages.

  • Install  Sample Application but user demo passwd is not real

    how can i change user demo password?

    Hi Fengzaichui,
    If you are using apex.oracle.com, then this instance is currently running on an APEX 4.1 Release Candidate build, and the Sample Database Application has been updated. As part of the application changes for 4.1, its authentication scheme now uses Application Express, thus requiring you to login using your APEX login credentials.
    If you are running on an earlier version of APEX, then the login credentials for the Sample Application are as follows:
    1)
    Username: demo
    Password: <your workspace name in lowercase>
    e.g if your workspace name is TEST, then the password here would be test.
    2)
    Username: admin
    Password: <your workspace name in lowercase>
    I hope this helps.
    Regards,
    Hilary

  • How to use Ajax Get Multiple Values in Tabular form?

    Hi All-
    I am trying to use AJAX to get multiple values in tabular form by using Denes Kubicek's example in the following link -
    http://apex.oracle.com/pls/otn/f?p=31517:239:9172467565606::NO:::
    Basically, I want to use the drop down list to populate rest of the values on the form.
    I have created the example(Ajax Get Multiple Values, application 54522) on Oracle site -
    http://apex.oracle.com/pls/apex/f?p=4550:1:0:::::
    Workspace: iConnect
    login: demo
    password: demo
    I was able to duplicate his example on page 1 (home page).
    However, I want to use system generate tabular form to finish this example, and was not able to populate the data correctly.
    Page 2 (method 2) is the one that I am having trouble to populate the column values. When I checked application item values in Session, and the values seems to be populated correctly.
    This is what I have done on this page:
    1. Create an Application Process On Demand - Set_Multi_Items_Tabular2:
    DECLARE
      v_subject my_book_store.subject%TYPE;
      v_price my_book_store.price%TYPE;
      v_author my_book_store.author%TYPE;
      v_qty NUMBER;
      CURSOR cur_c
      IS
      SELECT subject, price, author, 1 qty
      FROM my_book_store
      WHERE book_id = :temporary_application_item2;
    BEGIN
      FOR c IN cur_c
      LOOP
      v_subject := c.subject;
      v_price := c.price;
      v_author := c.author;
      v_qty := c.qty;
      END LOOP;
      OWA_UTIL.mime_header ('text/xml', FALSE);
      HTP.p ('Cache-Control: no-cache');
      HTP.p ('Pragma: no-cache');
      OWA_UTIL.http_header_close;
      HTP.prn ('<body>');
      HTP.prn ('<desc>this xml genericly sets multiple items</desc>');
      HTP.prn ('<item id="f04_' || :t_rownum || '">' || v_subject || '</item>');
      HTP.prn ('<item id="f05_' || :t_rownum || '">' || v_price || '</item>');
      HTP.prn ('<item id="f06_' || :t_rownum || '">' || v_author || '</item>');
      HTP.prn ('<item id="f07_' || :t_rownum || '">' || v_qty || '</item>');
      HTP.prn ('</body>');
    END;
    2. Create two application items - TEMPORARY_APPLICATION_ITEM2, T_ROWNUM2
    3. Put the following in the Page Header:
    <script language="JavaScript" type="text/javascript">
    function f_set_multi_items_tabular2(pValue, pRow){
        var get = new htmldb_Get(null,html_GetElement('pFlowId').value,
    'APPLICATION_PROCESS=Set_Multi_Items_Tabular2',0);
    if(pValue){
    get.add('TEMPORARY_APPLICATION_ITEM2',pValue)
    get.add('T_ROWNUM2',pRow)
    }else{
    get.add('TEMPORARY_APPLICATION_ITEM2','null')
        gReturn = get.get('XML');
        if(gReturn){
            var l_Count = gReturn.getElementsByTagName("item").length;
            for(var i = 0;i<l_Count;i++){
                var l_Opt_Xml = gReturn.getElementsByTagName("item")[i];
                var l_ID = l_Opt_Xml.getAttribute('id');
                var l_El = html_GetElement(l_ID);
                if(l_Opt_Xml.firstChild){
                    var l_Value = l_Opt_Xml.firstChild.nodeValue;
                }else{
                    var l_Value = '';
                if(l_El){
                    if(l_El.tagName == 'INPUT'){
                        l_El.value = l_Value;
                    }else if(l_El.tagName == 'SPAN' && l_El.className == 'grabber'){
                        l_El.parentNode.innerHTML = l_Value;
                        l_El.parentNode.id = l_ID;
                    }else{
                        l_El.innerHTML = l_Value;
        get = null;
    </script>
    Add the follwing to the end of the above JavaScript:
    <script language="JavaScript" type="text/javascript">
    function setLOV(filter, list2)
    var s = filter.id;
    var item = s.substring(3,8);
    var field2 = list2 + item;
    f_set_multi_items_tabular2(filter, field2);
    4. Tabular form query:
    select
    "BOOK_ID",
    "BOOK",
    "SUBJECT",
    "PRICE",
    "AUTHOR",
    "QTY",
    "BOOK_ID" BOOK_ID_DISPLAY
    from "#OWNER#"."MY_BOOK_STORE"
    5. In Book_ID_DISPLAY column attribute:
    Add the following code to element attributes: onchange="javascript:f_set_multi_items_tabular2(this.value,'#ROWNUM#');"
    Changed to -> onchange="javascript:setLOV(this,'f03');"
    Now,  T_ROWNUM2 returns value as f03_0001. But, TEMPORARY_APPLICATION_ITEM2 returns as [object HTMLSelectElement]...
    Please help me to see how I can populate the data with this tabular form format. Thanks a lot in advanced!!!
    Ling
    Updated code in Red..

    Ling
    Lets start with looking at what the javascript code is doing.
    function f_set_multi_items_tabular(pValue, pRow){
      /*This will initiate the url for the demand process to run*/
      var get = new htmldb_Get(null,html_GetElement('pFlowId').value,
                              'APPLICATION_PROCESS=Set_Multi_Items_Tabular',0);
      if(pValue){
        /*If there is an value than submit item name with value*/
        get.add('TEMPORARY_APPLICATION_ITEM',pValue)
        get.add('T_ROWNUM',pRow)
      }else{
        /*Else set the item TEMPORARY_APPLICATION_ITEM to null*/
        get.add('TEMPORARY_APPLICATION_ITEM','null')
      /*Submit the url and te returned document is of type XML*/
      gReturn = get.get('XML');
      if(gReturn){
        /*There is something returned*/
        var l_Count = gReturn.getElementsByTagName("item").length;
        /*For all elements of the tag item*/
        for(var i = 0;i<l_Count;i++){
          /*Get the item out of the XML*/
          var l_Opt_Xml = gReturn.getElementsByTagName("item")[i];
          /*Get the id of the item*/
          var l_ID = l_Opt_Xml.getAttribute('id');
          /*Get the element in the original page with the same id as
          **the item we have in the XML produced by the ondemand process
          var l_El = html_GetElement(l_ID);
          /*Now get the value of the item form the XML*/
          if(l_Opt_Xml.firstChild){
            var l_Value = l_Opt_Xml.firstChild.nodeValue;
          }else{
            /*There is no value*/
            var l_Value = '';
          if(l_El){
            /*There is an element with the same id as the item we are processing*/
            if(l_El.tagName == 'INPUT'){
              /*The element is an input item just set the value*/
              l_El.value = l_Value;
            }else if(l_El.tagName == 'SPAN' && l_El.className == 'grabber'){
              /*If it is a span elment and has the class grabber
              **Then set the innerHTML of the parent to the value
              **and the id of the parent to the id
              l_El.parentNode.innerHTML = l_Value;
              l_El.parentNode.id = l_ID;
            }else{
              /*Else set the value as innerHTML*/
              l_El.innerHTML = l_Value;
      get = null;
    Now where it went wrong in your initial post
    The XML that was returned by your XML process would be something like
    <body>
      <desc>this xml genericly sets multiple items</desc>
      <item id="f02_1">CSS Mastery</item>
      <item id="f03_1">22</item>
      <item id="f04_1">Andy Budd</item>
      <item id="f05_1">1</item>
    </body>
    When you don't use apex_item to create your tabular form a item in the table will look like
    <input id="f02_0001" type="text" value="CSS Mastery" maxlength="2000" size="16" name="f05" autocomplete="off">
    Notice the id's f02_1 and f02_0001 don't match.
    So to make it work the XML would have to look like
    <body>
      <desc>this xml genericly sets multiple items</desc>
      <item id="f02_0001">CSS Mastery</item>
      <item id="f03_0001">22</item>
      <item id="f04_0001">Andy Budd</item>
      <item id="f05_0001">1</item>
    </body>
    To do that simply use lpad in the ondemand process like
    HTP.prn ('<item id="f02_' || lpad(:t_rownum,4,'0') || '">' || v_subject || '</item>');
    HTP.prn ('<item id="f03_' || lpad(:t_rownum,4,'0') || '">' || v_price || '</item>');
    HTP.prn ('<item id="f04_' || lpad(:t_rownum,4,'0') || '">' || v_author || '</item>');
    HTP.prn ('<item id="f05_' || lpad(:t_rownum,4,'0') || '">' || v_qty || '</item>');
    Keep in mind that the above is based on your original post and #ROWNUM# not being lpadded with zero's.

  • Skillbuilders Modal Page (2.0.0) - iframe height restricted to 150px?

    Hi,
    I installed the Skillbuilders Modal Page v 2.0.0 this afternoon into our Apex 4.1.1 instance and have most functions working as expected. I have the modal window popping up when a link column in an interactive report is clicked.
    However, iframe node is inheriting a height of 150px from somewhere and I'm struggling to see where this is.
    When the edit link is clicked, the modal window pops up and the dom looks like this:
    <div id="colorbox" class="" style="padding-bottom: 0px; padding-right: 0px; opacity: 1; cursor: auto; display: block; position: absolute; width: 400px; height: 500px; top: 0px; left: 752px; ">

        </div>
        <div id="cboxLoadingOverlay" style="float: left; display: none; "></div>
        <div id="cboxLoadingGraphic" style="float: left; display: none; "></div>
        <div id="cboxTitle" style="float: left; display: block; ">Edit Transaction</div>
        <div id="cboxCurrent" style="float: left; display: none; "></div>
        <div id="cboxNext" style="float: left; display: none; "></div>
        <div id="cboxPrevious" style="float: left; display: none; "></div>
        <div id="cboxSlideshow" style="float: left; display: none; "></div>
        <div id="cboxClose" style="float: left; ">close</div>
      </div>

    </div>
    <div style="clear: left; ">
      <div id="cboxBottomLeft" style="float: left; "></div>
      <div id="cboxBottomCenter" style="float: left; width: 400px; "></div>
      <div id="cboxBottomRight" style="float: left; "></div>
    </div>I've combed through the source and linked CSS/JS files to try and see where the 150px height is inherited from to no avail. What is strange is that in my dynamic action I specify the height to be 300px, and the initial height in the plugin setup is also 300px.
    Anyone with any suggestions would be most welcome - I've hit a brick wall on this particular one!
    EDIT: Sample application and demo of problem at Demo App (user DEMO, password demo)
    Many thanks in advance.

    Hi Johnny,
    There isn't actually any custom code behind this, so to speak, certainly none that I've written as a custom job.
    The Skillbuilders plugin is available via [url http://apex-plugin.com/oracle-apex-plugins/dynamic-action-plugin/skillbuilders-modal-page_138.html]apex-plugin.com which links to [url http://skillbuilders.com/download/download-resource.cfm/instructions.pdf?file=Oracle-Apex/plugins/modal_page//instructions.pdf]instructions and a [url http://skillbuilders.com/webinars/webinar.cfm/53?title=Introducing%20SkillBuilders%20Modal%20Page%20Plug-in]really informative webinar at skillbuilders.com. I strongly recommend you watch the video as it's not as simple as just installing.

  • JQuery in Apex 4.0

    Hello All,
    I want to create a accordion in my application by using the jQuery components, I followed some Threads also but it still not working.
    This is the thread I am following:
    Roll Your Own - APEX 4.0 and JQuery-UI Application
    Here the example given by Jeff is working fine for the tabs when I tried that, but for accordion I am following the reply given by Alister Lang.
    This is what I have done:

    We can see error ORA-01007 after refresing (or submiting) Page 1 three times or more.
    How to fix it?

  • Oracle 9i on Windows 98: Who is user 'P08'?

    Hi there,
    I just installed Oracle Personal Edition 9.0.1.1.0 on my Win98 machine. I went with all the defaults, and told the installer to create a database for me. Everything seemed to install fine, and I wrote down the global name, SID, etc.
    I start the database via the Windows menu "Start: Programs: Oracle: Database Administration: Start Oracle9i Database". Type in the password, and everything starts fine.
    Then I go to the Oracle 9i Navigator. I see an icon that says "Local Database", so I click on it, and it says "Invalid username/password". Note: This is the first time that I have ever visited this database.
    I right click on "Local Database", and I see that this icon has a "Username: P08" and an obscured password.
    I have no idea who "PO8" is, the installer never mentioned anything about this user, I can't find any information about this user in the docs, and I have no idea what the password should be.
    I've tried the following passwords, but none of these work:
    PO8 (and p08, po8, pO8, etc).
    tiger (since that's what 'scott' uses)
    demo
    password
    test
    manager
    change_on_install
    "" (blank)
    What is the password? Who is this "PO8" user? It seems that P08 is a generic name for "Personal Oracle 8", Long postings are being truncated to ~1 kB at this time.

    (Try #2. The BBS truncated my post.)
    What is the password? Who is this "PO8" user? It seems that P08 is a generic name for "Personal Oracle 8", but I'm using 9i, and Oracle 8 has never been installed on this machine.
    And since this is a local database, I cannot change the password with an "ALTER USER P08 IDENTIFIED BY password" command in Sqlplus.
    Thanks for your help,

  • Problem to store a oracle sql result into a variable

    Hello everyone,
    I'm working on a little project that use c#, Oracle ODT and asp.net, so here is the thing, I need to save the result of a sequence (SECNUM.NEXTVAL ) into a variable, then call that value from many inserts and querys and for last make the commit. My problem is that I don't know how to convert the string result to a number and the call it from the statements. Always brings two errors, one is invalid number because Im sending a string and the another is that if I comment the line cmd.ExecuteNonQuery(); the script runs but no commit happens.
    This is my code, is attached to a button:
    C# Syntax (Toggle Plain Text)
    string oradb = "Data Source=BBDD;User Id=DEMO;Password=DEMO;";
    string cmd1 = "SELECT SECNUM.NEXTVAL FROM DUAL";
    OracleConnection conn = new OracleConnection(oradb);
    conn.Open();
    OracleParameter parm = new OracleParameter();
    parm.OracleDbType = OracleDbType.Decimal;
    OracleCommand cmd = new OracleCommand();
    cmd.Connection = conn;
    cmd.Parameters.Add(parm);
    cmd.CommandText = "INSERT INTO DEMOINCI (CODINCI, CODCLI) VALUES (('" + cmd1 +"'), 'TEST')";
    cmd.CommandText = "INSERT INTO DEMOINCILIN (CODINCI,CODLIN) VALUES (('" + cmd1 +"'),1)";
    cmd.CommandType = CommandType.Text;
    cmd.ExecuteNonQuery();
    So my problem is that the column CODINCI is a column number of (9) and not a VARCHAR and can not be changed because is already have data, so when I use the code of the example, Oracle return an error saying Invalid number (of course).
    With the help of a friend I tried to put with the cast like this cmd.CommandText = "INSERT INTO DEMOINCI (CODINCI, CODCLI) VALUES (" + "CAST(" + cmd1 + "AS NUMBER), 'TEST')"; and it works but only if I comment the line cmd.ExecuteNonQuery();, so the commit never happend and of course there is no insert in the database.
    ¿It is so difficult to store a result of an SQL into a variable and then call it back on a statement?, on Oracle Forms you create a cursor like cursor=CVAL SELECT SECNUM.NEXTVAL VAL FROM DUAL and that it you can then use the VAL result into all other queries of the same form an retrieving with the :VAL option.
    Thanks for all the help.

    I just had to do something similar for my C# class, using SQL Server. The primary key for a "Customers" table was an auto-incrementing integer. After inserting a new customer I had to retrieve and display the primary key:
    string selectStatement = "SELECT IDENT_CURRENT('Customers') from Customers";
    SqlCommand selectCommand = new SqlCommand(selectStatement, connection);
    int customerID = Convert.ToInt32(selectCommand,ExecuteScalar());
    The ExecuteScalar() method of selectCommand returned the first column of the first row of the dataset, which in this case was the key of the new Customers record, as an object. Convert.ToInt32() converted the key to an integer.
    Once you store SECNUM.NEXTVAL as an integer, you can use it to create a Parameter for the Command object.
    HTH.

  • Error in Deploying CMP Bean!!!

    i'm writing a CMP Bean. i wrote the Bean , home and remote interfaces. i'm using weblogic 7.0 as my application server.
    1. what is the default data base for the weblogic 7.0.
    2. should v create any table while deploying the CMP bean in a database. i think there is no need because the container will take care of it.
    3. what is the need of <Data-source-name> in the deployment descriptor file weblogic-cmp-ejb-jar.xml. this is a mandatory field. can i give a random name here? if not, how 2 create a data source name.
    please refer my deployment descriptor file.s

  • Mail Adapter Configuration in XI 3.0

    Hi all,
    i tried to set up a process using the mail adapter. Unfortunately it doesn't work. Has anyone succeeded in setting up a process with the mail adapter using POP3 and SMTP?

    Hi Michael,
    I did not find any documentation of the XI 3.0 mail adapter so result of practical test only for outgoing mail using SMTP:
    <b>Mail server settings:</b>
    SMTP port 8025 (you can configure any port of course)
    Account demo, password test
    <b>Mail adapter configuration:</b>
    Bubble adapter java class
    classname=com.sap.aii.messaging.adapter.ModuleBubble
    Bubble.Helper=com.sap.aii.messaging.adapter.ModuleBubbleHelperXIMailImpl
    Part 0 : common part ######
    Mail.MailSubject="mail from adapter z_outmail"
    Mail.MailFrom=[email protected]
    Mail.MailTo=demo@<you mail server name>
    XIALL or XIPAYLOAD
    Mail.MessageProtocol=XIPAYLOAD
    Mail.Log=1110
    Part : XI client to Mail server ######
    OMail.TargetURL=smtp://<you mail server name>:8025
    OMail.User=demo
    OMail.Password=test
    The port and path where the adapter waits for XMB messages from clients.
    XI.Port=8240
    XI.Path=/z_outmail
    It look so that there is no POP3 support, just only IMAP.
