Denied access to install Lightroom 5.2
I just tried to install the Lightroom 5.2 trial on my Mac, but I get an error message that says I don't have administrative priviledges, even though I do, and I'm the only user. Can someone help me? Appreciated....
Ended up fixing the problem after finding no answers. Deleted the following file

Hello,
first of all I've to apologize because my English istn't as good as it should be!
I hope you'll understand my problem.
As mentioned in the topic line, I can't install Lightroom 3. The installmanager runs well until copying the new data, then at ca. 80% this error massage appears:
Error 1935. An error occurred during the installation of assembly component {5C21D397-1DA5-3749-8C1F-165F21DE9E3E}. HRESULT: 0x80070002. assembly interface: IAssemblyCacheItem, function: Commit, assembly name: Microsoft.VC90.MFCLOC,version="9.0.21022.8",publicKeyToken="1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b",processorAr chitecture="amd64",type="win32"
So far no problem. I checked the web for solutions, the following things seemed to fit:
1. Re-Install .NET Framework - I've done this twice in the meantime...
2. Re-Install Visual C++ Runtimes - Also done twice
3. Close all other programms incl. AV via msconfig - done
But this error hasn't gone jet...
I thought for a short period of time that, maybe, the cd is corrupted. Luckily Adobe has the client downloadable on its website.
How could I say? Installation via web-client also failed, same Error....
Now I don't know what to do further! I would be glad if any of you can give me a hint or probably a solution.
Thank You! -fehnseThanks for your reply.
I have found ADOBE support lacking, to say the least. They had me run a program which invalidated my Vista License, and then had the nerve to tell me to contact Microsoft to fix that problem. And THEN they had the nerve to tell me that LR3 wouldn't install because my Vista license was no longer valid. They could not seem to comprehend that my first attempt to install LR3 was BEFORE they had me run the program which invalidated my Vista license.
I corrected my license problem by going through the online validation process with MS. The final straw was the last tech who seemed to be questioning my honesty. He was skeptical that I had not validated Vista, and wanted to get remote access to my computer. That takes some nerve, doesn't it? I didn't allow him access but he took my telephone number to have a "Senior," tech call me. I doubt I will get that call, based on the comments of other Adobe customers.
I am shocked at this kind of service from Adobe. I am comparing to HP, which has been surprisingly helpful with my laptop that has been out of warranty for two years.
Anytime someone tells me that I have to re-load my OS, I know I'm talking to the wrong person. Reloading the OS and all the programs is always the easiest resolution for the person giving the advice. It may work, but it's not always necessary. After having done that a couple of times, I decided to buy another laptop hard drive and clone my internal drive to it every couple of weeks. If my drive goes bad, or I need to reload every thing, I just swap the drives, and restore files which have been updated since the last cloning.
I found some instructions on Intuit's Turbotax website which I will try when I return home from the weekend, if I haven't heard from Adobe.
I wish that I could paste the link; just google "error 1935 turbotax" and it's usually at the top.
I'll attach a screen print so you can see what it should look like. -
Problems installing Lightroom 4.4 on Windows 7 Ultimat 64bit
Hi everyone,
I have probplems installing Lightroom 4.4 on Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit and hope somebody can help me.
By the way: Lightromm 4.3 is still working fine.

MarkusI was finally able to uninstall CS4 - it takes forever - and reinstall the original CS4 master suite on Windows 7. Then I used the help menu update tool to update directly from 4.0 - a download 930 MBs - that took a long time too - there must have been a huge number of folks downloading from Adobe last night. This morning, the updates worked and the 4.1 update is working smoothly with AVCHD and HDV and other functions all working.
Thanks everyone. As far as back up goes, I back up everything on separate drives. So if I'm currently working on a project, I'll have all the footage and project files duplicated on a separate drive. And, if it's a huge job, I may get paranoid and triple back it up
As far as backing up the system drive on my production machine - there's not much to back up - nothing other than CS4 and other plugins - in fact, I'll intentionally do a clean re-install once every 6 months or at least once a year just to humor myself.
But my test machine - now I have a deconstructionist approach - I'll try to break it just so I can then see what it takes to fix it! -
i access my itunes account and try to search for new music to purchase and everytime i try (even with money in my account) im kicked off the search engine....almost like im denied access to purchase music.....help!
your itunes may be freezing, you can close and re-open it?
If the problem persist, you can try deleting itunes and re-installing it to fix any problems it may have -
A Problem Re-installing Lightroom 3.6
First, excuse my clumsy attempts at describing the problem as I am anything but tech savvy. Recently, my hard drive had to be replaced so I had all of my files/information transferred to a new hard drive, I then re-installed Lightroom 3.6. The last time I did this, when I had to replace my previous computer with the present PC, all of the folders I had imported into my Lightroom catalog "magically" were there to be accessed--each listed in the "index" of folders that one finds to the left under "Folders" once in Lightroom. This time, only a few of the folders appeared there--16 out of about 200. Neither I, nor the "computer guy" who transferred my files (who has no experience with LR) can figure out where these missing LR folders are and how to retrieve them. I have all the original photos stored in several locations, of course, but probably have 200 photos in various stages of being edited in my LR catalog and would hate to lose that. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Ok, first step: Find your folders. You cannot use Lr to do this. Lr is not a browser-based program; it does not automatically "see" what is on a hard drive.
Search for your folders in Windows Explorer. If you cannot find the folders in Win Explorer then they are not on the hard drive. But please include all of your hard drives in the search - not only the location where you think they should be.
Once you have found them, comes the second step: Re-linking Lr with the folders.

Unable to install lightroom 3.6 error code 2753
Had issues with my computer today (windows 7 64 bit) finally was able to get a restore point that would allow the machine to access windows and all the programs (including Photoshop CS5) were functional except lightroom 3.6. I was not able to have the windows un-installer remove lightroom so I had to go and do it manually. I downloaded another copy from Adobe. When I try to install I get the error code 2753. The file Lightroom.exe is not marked for installation. I checked the FAQ's and there was only one reference to that code but it refered to lightroom 2.0 software installation. I re-installed lightroom 2.6 with no problems and I tried installing the 3.6 software after installing the 2.6 version. I had no luck still receive the 2753 error code. When I initially installed the 3.6 version on 12/4 there were not issues and the software worked with no problems. Any ideas / suggestions? Thank you.
Hello Jeff, Thanks for the reply. What had occured was when I was working inside of Lightroom one of those balloon messages popped up making note of a hardware driver not working or missing, I really did not pay attention to be honest I thought it may have had something to do with the download of files off of the compact flash card. After downloading the files into lightroom I turned off the machine. Later on when I came back to work on the files the machine would not boot up into windows 7 instead a sort of chkdsk utility initiated, after it finished checking the disk I was given the option of going to a previous restore point, the first time it did not work. On the second try with a different restore point selected I was able to bring up windows. Everything was working except for the lightroom software. After running Registry Reviver and also optimizing the registry I still was unable to get lightroom to work.
I decided to download another copy and re-install. Well the first trouble encountered was not being able to un-install the software from the control panel utility so I tried installing the software without the old software being removed, that is the first time I received the 2753 error code. I checked adobe.com FAQ page and the only mention about this code was in reference to the 2.X version. I tried the procedures there anyway. Still no success with the error code 2753 still coming up. I then decided to remove the software manually from the computer (only in windows, did not go through DOS or to regedit). I again ran Registry Reviver software and tried installing the software again with no success still.
Finally I decided to google the error code 2753 and review what was actually happening. Part of the instructions to clear the code required me to download some software that microsoft created (msicuu2) that would force the removal of the lightroom software from my machine (it was still showing up in the control panel un-install eventhough I removed it from the program file in windows). I again ran Registry Reviver and Optimized the registry, re-booted the machine gave it another try and this time I had success.
I am happy to report that Lightroom is working without any problems. I cannot say with any certainty what caused the problem initially for all I know it could be just a case of SH's syndrome.
I took note in your reply about the stability issue, I will pay more attention for now to see if there is a re-occurrence of this or a similar problem and then address it at that time. I would like to mention that I did not loose any photo files or have any files corrupted due to this problem........ so I am thinking more a windows problem as you alluded to in your reply than it being a Lightroom problem. -
I lost my images from my hard drive and now I can not access them in Lightroom. What can I do?
Your images are truly no longer present on the hard drive(s)? Have you had your operating system do a search for them?
If such a search fails to find them, here's what I would do, in order
Look in the trash can/recycle bin
Restore from backups
If you don't have backups ... well, why not? ... find a program on the internet called an "undelete utility" (free versons are available) and then download and install it and run it. If you are going to do this, then do not perform any other tasks on your computer except find the program, download it (if possible to a different drive than the photos were stored on), install it (if possible to a different drive than the photos were stored on), and run it. In the future, you will need to commit to making regular backups of your photos and of your Lightroom catalog file, no excuses.
If that doesn't work, but the thumbnails still appear in Lightroom, you can probably recover the thumbnails from Lightroom via a plug-in, but these would be low-resolution versions of your photos, if you really need instructions on this step, write back -
I'm actually trying to stream a common flv message that
basically says not to view streaming media via a Citrix connection.
The Citrix Metaframe is not streaming friendly, and we want to
intercept the request if coming from a Citrix server and display a
common flv verses that actual requested stream.
These Citrix servers are internal to our environment so we
have IP addresses we can use to intercept. I know we can simply
deny access, but that will cause problems with the program
requesting the stream.
If anybody has any bright ideas, I would sure like to know.
Thanks in advance.Rick Wilson wrote:
Well, I found the file named rsmacu_3205. It is in an application folder named Akamai. According to a Google search it is for streaming services. This problem occurred on my daughter's laptop. She said she doesn't get asked to Deny or Allow it connecting to the network when she is at school. She says it only happens when she connects to my home network.
Could be outright blocked at school, never getting to her machine.
I'm not sure what it is really used for or why the prompt occurs when she is home.
Does your daughter know? Presumably she installed it for some reason (for better web downloads?), as it doesn't come standard on a Mac. Although some other app could have installed it I guess, but check with her and ask if she's installed anything web related lately.
As a side question. she has set some things to allow incoming connections (iChat, etc.) and is blocking some apps. Word, Excel, etc. are blocked but every time Word or Excel opens, the user is prompted to deny or allow network connection. Is there any real reason to block it? The firewall is on and in stealth mode. Is there a way to block it and not be propmted?
I don't know of a reason to block those particular apps. Why did she choose those, was she instructed to by her school?
I run the firewall on my machine with "allow only essential services", and run it in stealth mode. Keeps me reasonably safe (I'm usually also behind other firewalls, at home or at work). With things like iChat, she shouldn't need to explicitly allow incoming connections. If she initiates an iChat session, there is no incoming connection. Probably not a great idea for her to leave that kind of hole in her firewall... -
Please help!!
How many times can you install Lightroom 5? My problem is that I have saved my programs on C. To I have more space, I want to save my programs now on E. Can I now uninstall Lightroom and reinstall from C to E? Can I use the same license code as the first installation?Thank you for your answers, it helps me a lot.
But sorry for my ignorance. I understand how you mean it, but I don't know how to do it. I'm scared to lose the settings/edits of the images. -
