Denim update on my 1520

I have a lumia 1520 with preview for developers on updated to 8.10.14219.341 when it is activated it say's Cyan when it is deactivated it say Denim does this happen to anyone ? And how to fix it?

Why can't a flagship device like Lumia 1520 get the latest updates ? What's the point in purchasing the top of the line products if no support is provided. Hello have a 1520 Lumia with HK ROM and I have not yet received Denim, on the microsoft web site indicated that as there are Denim but my phone still says that it is updated.

Rotated photos problem on Lumia 930, 1520 with Denim update

There is an issue with photos taken on Lumia 930, 1520 with Denim update: camera uses EXIF rotation property instead of properly rotating the picture. As a result, apps which don't properly support EXIF.Rotation show photos rotated.
To reproduce, take the photo in vertical orientation on Lumia 930 with Denim update. Open Instagram official app (as an example), try adding new photo ->> you'll see that the photo is 90 degrees rotated.
Now question: is it a feature or is it a bug?
And if it is a feature, where is it documented?

Well, I am a developer writing my own app. And what I see is a sudden change in phone camera behavior, which affects and annoys lots and lots of users of my app (VK for WP), Telegram messenger app, and Instagram app, which I used as an example, because
it is well known.
It does seem like a feature to me now, so would't it make sense to have some native support for it? For example, make BitmapImage pay attention to EXIF and correctly rotate?
And again: is this change documented anywhere?
And please, bring my question where it was originally posted.

1520 Denim Update Breaks Adv Bluetooth

I have a Pioneer AVH-P3400PH. Prior to the Denim update, the Bluetooth connection was awesome. The track information would show on the Pioneer's display, and the FF/REW buttons worked for track selection. Since denim, these advanced functions no longer work. (Pioneer just says "No track data"). Please fix!!

Did you manually download the "Helps+Tips" app from the Store or did it appear to your phone along with the Denim update?

Lumia update in Lumia 1520 Claro Uruguay

Hi I have a Lumia 1520, operator Claro, country Uruguay. Still in Black update.

Sometime ago (before Denim update) was listed with Black of course.
Don't know why is not listed at least with Black label.

Vodafone/microsoft denim update issue for lumia 15...

This is for Anybody with vodafone in the uk that has a Lumia 1520!

The current update released is the Denim software, be aware, this is FALSE! According to vodafone (to which i have in writting) they do not alter the software of an of the microsoft handsets which means that if you are with vodafone, your handset is a country varient handset and there for the denim update is not yet available. This means that the stated vodafone specific 1520 does not exist and microsoft are missleading us all. I am in the process of having microsoft take this information off the website or at the very least have them deal with vodafone in this matter. As for the country varient hand sets, we are still waiting for the release of Denim.

It looks like the information about the Lumia 1520 Vodafone UK variant would have been on the site already for a while, as it also has previously received the Cyan update (Black -> Cyan), and devices with the Vodafone UK variant have been shipped to customers. So as I said previously, there should not be any major problem with the availability data on the site. The logic based on which Vodafone would have been selling phones with operator specific software or non-operator specific software to their customers though is something that I don't have full details for, so cannot comment that part more specifically. I can understand that you are upset with the fact that the Denim update is not still available for your phone, but removing the Lumia 1520 Vodafone UK row from the site would not change that. Hopefully the update will hit UK CV devices soon, as the Denim rollouts proceed.
We are looking at possibilities on improving the information on the site going forward though, and adding the manufacturer name detail (more specific identifier, than just country/operator infos) to the data rows might be potentially one such case. Will make a note of that.

Lumia Camera/4K not working after Denim Update

Hi, Received the Lumia denim update this morning but after installation, the Lumia Camera app is not open (displaying a megbox that says "Lumia camera requires Lumia denim software update") and the extra+info still shows "cyan". The rest of denim update features are working fine...

You got the OS update to ‘Windows Phone 8.1 Update’ which was released in September 2014. You have not received the firmware update ‘Lumia Denim’, yet. Not in general, because sometimes countries like the UK are first, sometimes UK is last. Again, Nokia does not tell.

Hardware navigation buttons dark after Denim updat...

After the recent Denim Update, the hardware navigation buttons on my Lumia 930 no longer light up. I tried all combinations of brightness and battery saver settings but to no avail. Also a soft reset didn't help.
It's unlikely a hardware issue because the button lighting was fine until right before the update. Also, the ambient light sensor seems to be OK, because the display brightness still changes when the lighting conditions change.
Anyone else having this problem? I found quite a few similar reports in German forums, BTW.

Thanks for sharing this with us. Since you mentioned that this started to happen after the Lumia Denim update, let's try performing some troubleshooting steps to further isolate the issue. Have you tried rebooting your phones?
For Nokia Lumia 625 / 625H / 530 / 530 Dual SIM / 630 / 630 Dual SIM / 635 / 636 / 930 / 1320 / 1520: Press and hold the power key for about 10 seconds. The phone restarts.
If the issue remains, you can reset the phone by going to Settings > about > reset your phone. As this will delete all your stored files, we recommend creating a backup file: Back up my stuff. Keep us posted with the outcome.

Denim update lumia 930

I have a lumia 930 ( mobile operator 000-ZA, RM-1045_1065 ) and its not even on the list on th official update availability page. will i get the denim update & if so, when?

Nokia Lumia 822 Lumia Denim Update from Verizon

Hello All,
I have enrolled in Developer Preview on Nokia Lumia 822. My WPhone got windows 8.10.14219.341
The firmware version is 3051.40000.1352.0042 and it shows Lumia Black in the extras + info.
When I got the Verizon update, i tried to update several times.
It successfully downloads and prepares to install.
When it reboots and try to install the patch, it finishes quickly.
I get the message:
It's probably a temporary problem. To Try again, go to settings > Phone Update 0x80188308.
What should I do to get Lumia Denim update on my phone? Reset the phone ?
Please advise.

No sir, I unistalled that app after microsoft started to release wp 10 preview for dev because 1020 it's not on the list for preview at this moment.

Where's the Denim update?

Where's the Denim update? I'm in the US and have a Lumia Icon. It's the middle of March and I still don't have it. I got an update just last night for the "extras + info" app in the Windows Store, and now it *says* I'm on Denim...but I haven't had an actual system update through "phone update" yet.

I only stumbled across this general problem, so I'm not entirely up on the history. Do you know if this is connected in any way possibly to installing and running iTunes 6.0.x BEFORE installing the QT 7.0.x update? The original iTunes/QT updates specifically instructed to install QT before installing iTunes (or actually before running it for the first time.)
I'm wondering if the problem is arising because of either not installing QT 7 and/or using an earlier version of iTunes or installing iTunes 6 and using it before or without installing QT 7.
Dr. Smoke believes there may be some problem associated with the version of iTunes and the corruption of the Help Viewer caches that leads to the common loss of Help functionality. I'm wondering if all this may be in some way connected.

Will Lumia 1020 ever going to get Denim update, is...

I was googling about Lumia Denim update rolling out in india for 520 and 525 handsets. this update has some cool features, however, every other device is getting this update (now or in future) but lumia 1020 is not showing up?
is there a possiblity for getting Denim update for 1020? i think it has a similar chipset and processor (dual core not a quad) that of 520 and 525. then why ?
someone please let me know, if they received this update, or any workarounds to get that?

When will the Lumia Icon get the Denim Update?

The Denim Update will arrive for the Lumia Icon in early 2015. It just dropped today for Lumia 928 and Lumia 822: Verizon announces Windows Phone 8.1 Update 1 to Lumia 928, Lumia 822 | Windows Central.
But, Microsoft said at IFA 2014 that the Lumia Denim would "first be available on our flagship phones...Lumia ICON": Microsoft Nokia Lumia Live Event Part 1 - Lumia Denim, Lumia 830 IFA 2014 - YouTube . Not happy. Check the youtube video out at the time 7:48.
So it appears that Lumia Cyan was skipped as some of us speculated in the forums.
Meanwhile, although you can only buy the Lumia 928 at Verizon, since Verizon discontinued (yanked off the shelves with disgust by iPhone and Android executives hehehe, jk) the Lumia ICON, you can still buy the Lumia ICON at the Microsoft store free with contract: http://www.microsoftstore.com/store/msusa/en_US/pdp/Verizon---Nokia-Lumia-Icon/productID.306508100
And just to add a little salt to the wounds the 930 on AT&T already has Lumia Cyan and it has the same exact hardware as the 929, accept for a few little number changes here and there due to GSM vs CDMA, but that doesn't take 4 months to figure out...: Windows Phone 8.1 Update 1 rolls out for Nokia Lumia 930
At this point Verizon should just let Microsoft deliver firmware directly to Lumia ICON users, like Apple delivers firmware updates to iPhone users, without carrier approval since Verizon doesn't even sell the ICON anymore.
Very disappointed in Verizon and Microsoft.
I wonder if the preview for developers version will receive the Denim update on the ICON any sooner than "early 2015"...
Joe Belfore needs to "get on Deck" with reality; this is way to long to wait for a flagship phone.

OK, I stand corrected -- and I'm thrilled about that!! According to Lumia Conversations, Verizon will be rolling out Denim to those that missed Cyan:
"Here’s an early Christmas present to our U.S. readers: If you own a Lumia and you’re on the Verizon network, the newest Windows Phone 8.1 upgrade–the super-charged Lumia Denim–is coming to you soon.
Yes, that means you’ll skip over the previous update, Lumia Cyan, and go straight to Denim!
The roll-out for the Lumia 822 and Lumia 928 begins over the next few days and the Lumia Icon will follow in early 2015."
I'm not thrilled about us Icon owners being last in line and waiting until 2015, but it's better than waiting for a Cyan update that will never come.
