DEP Settings for Photoshop CS4

Dear friends,
I installed photoshop CS4 on a Vista 32 and since then the CS4 always crashing at start up. Now after trying several times, I had it running under XP compatability. The point is, My DEP settings is set to work with programs, but the photoshop cs4 is set there as an exception, and no matter what I try to remove it or simply uncheck the photoshop, it goes back checked !!
Please anyone can help to remove the Photoshop CS4 from the list so it can be enabled for the DEP settings?

Yes I did, and it crashes..
now, and after several tries, I have the DEP set on the essential, and the CS4 is not set on any compatibility, but everytime I open the photoshop it gives me a messege that my GPU is dissabled, and I should go to performance to enable it. Well if I click on performance, the program crashes, and even if I open any picture, the program crashes too...
I don't know what the hell is going on but I did uninstall it and installed like million times, even cleand the registry ..
Nothing is working !!

1. Right click on the downloaded Camera_Raw_5_7_updater.zip
    Click on Extract All
2. In the Extract All dialog check Show extracted files when complete, then click on Extract
3. When the next window opens showing the extracted files, right click on the Setup.exe and click on Run as Administrator.
   In the User Account Control dialog click Yes
Just follow the directions in the install dialog when it opens
Mac
1. Double click on the downloaded Camera_Raw_5_updater.dmg to mount the dmg image
2. When the next window opens, double click on the Setup.app
    In the next window enter your password
Just follow the instructions in the install dialog that appears
I didn't take screenshots of the installer dialogs, because i already have the 5.7 camera raw plugin installed

You would need Camera Raw 7.3 or later to open those files. Adobe is not going to update CS4. You can either get a newer version of Photoshop that comes with a current version of Camera Raw, or you can use the DNG converter to save your files down to the ACR version that works with CS4.

Adobe doesn't sell CS4 anymore. It hasn't done it for years.
The only way to obtain a legitimate s/n would be to buy an unused old-stock copy of CS4 that some reseller may have in their stock room, or to buy it from a private party that has never used that particular copy of CS4 to upgrade the application.
Both methods bring with them a very high likelihood of your getting ripped off.

I am taking a class and part of the homework was to use the pattern maker. I searched every drop down menu looking
for something that was removed from the standard install. Eventually I located the plug in and pattern maker is working,
however I am wondering what else was removed.

I think pattern maker was removed in CS3 from my memory. In CS4 Extract and Contact Sheet were also removed. These are still accessible by installing the plug ins from previous versions
Exactly WHY they are removing these things from the standard install? because there are certain portions of the development staff that are becoming obsessed with what they are calling "bloat'. There was a brief period (Photoshop 6 to 7) when certain "New Features" like Extract and Pattern maker were introduced, looked like some kind of sideline - they honestly were not put together, or thought through very well. So now they are removing them.

Another reason why you should update to 64 bit. The 4 gigs of ram is not being used as it should. Plus not to mention that 512 megs or 1 gig card will take the first 512 or 1 gig of address space. With your 32 bit system I would just stay with a recent high quality 512 meg video card.

Do you own Illustrator CS3? An older version should not only not be asking you to utilize a newer version in any way, it couldn't even know about the existence of it.

Installation Hassle For Photoshop CS4

After recieving Photoshop Elements, I installed and registered the product to my Windows Vista 64-bit PC. After recieving Photoshop CS4, I installed the product on the same computer. The installation went fine, but when I start it up, it starts up as Adobe Photoshop CS4 Extended. I entered in the serial number (name on sticker is Photoshop UPSL) from the back of my CD case without problems. It brings me to the screen to enter Photoshop Elements' serial number. I select the 6.0 version and enter the serial number correctly, but I recieve the message "Serial number does not match the product you selected."
I do not understand why my Photoshop Elements serial number is not activating the program, nor do I understand why I have recieved a Photoshop CS4 Extended Trial Version from a CD case and installation box the has Photoshop CS4 written all over it.. If buying Photoshop like this has become this much as a hassle, they should do away with upgrade products and give away true full versions of Photoshop CS4 for 50% off.

The serial number on the back of my Photoshop CS4 DVD case is the one I used. It is the only 24-digit number that came with the CS4 package. The next screen prompted me to enter Photoshop Elements' serial number, mentioning the serial number I entered is for an upgrade version of Photoshop CS4 Extended. This does not sound correct because I did not buy a CS4 Extended software, yet it loads up as such.
Photoshop Elements is also a 24-digit serial number. The sticker on the back of Bamboo Fun's Software Bundle CD case that installs Photoshop Elements says it is version 6.0, which the software itself says in the Help > About Photoshop Elements Menu. But when I enter the serial number with Photoshop Elements 6.0 selected, I get the message, "The serial number does not match the product you selected."
During installation, it never prompted me if I wanted to try a trial version of Photoshop CS4 Extended, only Photoshop-related options were Photoshop CS4 and Photoshop CS4 (64-bit).

Error 6 Message for Photoshop CS4

I am on PC with Photoshop CS4, and all of a sudden whenever I click on it it gives me a message saying photoshop has encountered an error that requires me to restart my computer. I have restarted my computer twice and still gotten an error 6 message. I don't know what this means, and sorry for my lack of knowledge or if this seems like a simple qustion. A lot of people do have Bridge running without knowing it. It runs as a hidden instance and is visible in Task Manager under the Processes tab, not as an application.
This is because by default Bridge is set to start with Windows in preferences – some crazy idea from Adobe that causes more problems than it's worth. You can end the process in Task Manager.
If this is the case with you, you would be best removing the plug-in file you added manually and trying again to run the ACR installer.

Quit the editor, then restart it while holding down ctrl+alt+shift (cmd+option+shift on a mac). Keep the keys down till you see a window asking if you want to delete the settings file. You do.

Cancelled Serial Number for Photoshop CS4 Extended

In 2010 I purchased a copy of Photoshop CS4 Extended. I have been using it happily ever since until last weekend when I made the mistake of upgrading my PC to Windows 8. I reinstalled Photoshop and all worked well until a few hours later a message came up saying that my Serial Number was invalid. I contacted Adobe on-line chat service and went through my problem in detail. They confirmed that there system was saying my SN was a fake. I was asked to contact the Piracy department which I did sending them scanned images of the CDs and packaging showing the serial number etc. That was at the beginning of the week and I am now left with a locked out application and no way of escalating the problem. I have been told that eventually the piracy whiz kids will contact me.
Has anybody had this problem before and does anybody know how I can actually talk to a living being in Adobe. I have spent hours trying to find a telephone number that I can use to contact the piracy department.
It is just as well photo editing is not my main job!! The kids would be starving.

Vanwell did you purchase the software originally from Adobe? If not have you tried contacting the reseller who sold you Creative Suite 4?
