Departments in a new page _ FR Report

Hi All,
We have got 100 departments in the Cube. We need to generate a report where each department will come in a new page.
In rows we have account(Suppress missing),we have only ne column budget...........we need to generate a report with budget of each department in a new page.
I have taken Department in page axis...tried different approaches but,. selected depts are coming as dropdowns.............we want each dept in a new page with accounts which have got data.

Set up the report as you want it to look for a single department, then create a report book that gets created for the 100 departments.
Otherwise, I think you'd need to pick the departments by row in the report and insert page breaks - but this is time-consuming and high maintenance.

How to limit row number per group without change new page in crystal report

Hi All Expert,
Is there any way to limit row number per group without change new page in crystal report 2008. The reason i do that is due to customer using printer EPSON LQ 300 (dot matrix) always will print in landscape if detech my layout in landscape. Because they need the record always print in 1 page (Letter size) for 2 groups and each group must show 5 records. Example:
But, in CR2008, if you set the row per group from group section expert, definitely it will change to new page, but I do not want it change to new page. Any Idea?
In one page (Letter size):
Group Name: Customer-ABC
NO INVOICE AMOUNT
1)   INV001     USD100
2)   INV002     USD100
3)   INV003     USD100
4)   INV004     USD100
5)   INV005     USD100

I guess it is not possible.
Because if you have one common group for all the 10 records then in one page it will show 10 records under one group.
I mean i think it is not possible but m not completely sure......

How to catch the New-page in a report ?

I would like to know how the following can be done.
While printing a report,how can we identify the beginning of a new page so that we can put the header on start of every new page ?

If you write the header in TOP-OF-PAGE event, it will automatically take care of each page.
The below code will help you.
TOP-OF-PAGE.
PERFORM write_page_header_400.
FORM write_page_header_400.
WRITE: /1 sy-sysid(3) NO-GAP, '-' NO-GAP, sy-mandt,
 60 'Test,
 110 'Date:', sy-datum MM/DD/YYYY,
 170 ' '.
WRITE: /1 sy-cprog,
 60 'Test',
 110 'Time:', sy-uzeit,
 170 ' '.
ENDFORM.
This header will appear in each page.

Crystal Report Group section in new page

Hi all,
I have a program written in VB.Net 2005 which display a report. In this report, I have a group by Item type ascending.
When I run the program and load the report, it display the data correctly.
When I move my mouse cursor on Group Section Hearder on the report, it will change to Magnify icon.
When I double click on that Group title which is "Item Type" in my report, it will load a new page beside "Main Report" in Crystal tool bar.
Problem is it didn't contain Report Header/Footer or Page Header/Footer.
I like this feature but it only display the group section is not enough for me.
Why I like it is because my report will have different Item Type. Each type can list up to more than 1 page.
I want to print the report by Item Type. That means Item A may be total 2 pages, Item B may be total 6 pages.
All I need to do is load the page like I mention above, it will only contain that Item Type and click on Print to print out particular Item type.
Another issue is If i supress this Group Section in crystal report during design, when I run the program I can't double click to open up new page beside Main report.
Any idea and solution for my case????

Your report will need re-designing. What you are seeing is an expected behavior. Consider redesigning your report - possibly using subreports.
If i supress this Group Section in crystal report during design, when I run the program I can't double click
- again, an expected behavior. You suppressed the GroupSection. E.g.; you made it invisible / non functional / not needed by suppressing it...

Include report header for every new page.

Hi expert,
I have create a report with two buttons, 'previous page' and 'next page'. when i click the buttons, my report will go to another new page. I am using NEW-PAGE in my report.
My problem now is, how can i include TOP-OF-PAGE for every new page in my report? When i click on the button, the TOP-OF-PAGE will not trigger by my report.
Pls advise how to solve it.

Open Jasper Report in new page using servlet

Guys,
Looks very simple but i am having problem making this process work. I am using 11.1.1.4
This is my use case:
- From a employee page, user clicks on a menu item to open report for current employee. I need to pass appropriate report parameters to servlet and open report into new page.
I can successfully call servlet using commandmenuitem and set request parameters and call servlet from backing bean.... but that doesn't open report in a new page.... any way i can do this?
Another option i tried was that using gomenuitem and setting target=blank but in that case i need to pass the parameter using servlet url which i like to avoid.(in case i need to pass many parameters in future) (also values will be set on page so i need to generate url when then click the menuitem...... so there are some hoops and loops i need to go through) I don't know a way to pass the request parameter using backing bean to servlet... i don't think it is possible.
Those are the two approaches i tried.
If you have any better approach...I would appreciate if you can let me know. (i have searched on internet for two days now.... for the solution)

Fbl5n report showing pritn output for a new customer on a new page

In fbl5n when i execute for all the customers and give print command its printing every new customer on a new page but i want to print the data continously.
Pls let me knw how to avoid this?

Hi Sunny,
you're case is quite common, because SAP displays the customer data in a standard layout, putting a page break after every customer and company code.
In order to avoid this, you may change the grouping criteria. For that,
1. be sure that you have not clicked on the header of any column in the list
2. click on button "sort ascending"
3. here you'll see that fields "company code" and "account" have an asterisk on column NG (new group). This means that, for every change in these fields, SAP will insert a page break
4. remove these asterisks
5. (optional) save this layout for further launchings of the report

To view reports in new page for each cutomer using Report Designer

HI all
I have a requirement to view the data (key figures) for each customer in a new page.
I have created the same using the Report Designer tool.
Now there is setting for this Group Header 'Customer' i have selected the option 'repeat group header on each page'
still the query when generated, gives fine results for certain cases but not for all.
like it will show the each customers in a fresh page for some pages , then in midst there would some 2-3 customers in the same page.
There is no relation between these customers , they are same as the other customers, no difference at all.then i am not able to figure out the reason why it is behaving so odd.

Ramesh,
right now there really is no way to solve what you are looking for. There partial solutions, but you will not be able to force a page break in a dynamic report.
Here is what I have faced, and what I have come up with so far:
I have a series of reports that have the same column heading, but spread over 5 pages in a fixed structure. I need to be able to re-use the header and the general report design with 6 reports. Here is my solution:
1. Create an outline of the report. I did all the formatting by creating a report section for each page. You can force page breaks between the pages. Upgrade to patch 1502 (came out last week) and you will see some new functionality (such as fit to page, page numbers, etc).
2. Insert all you page breaks and do all the formatting.
3. Insert an infoprovider. Once in, you can just drag and drop the key figure cells into your formatted report.
4. Create additional modification for formatting as needed.
This fixes my problem (for now), but I had to do a lot of work to come up with this. Also, the latest patch (1501 and 1502) has created an issue for me - there is a null exception when I try to use a variable or a filter value in the report body - I can't save the report. I have an OSS message out, but our BASIS guys are going to be taking the lead on troubleshooting this.
The reason that you are seeing some customers on the new pages is probably because of "how the cookie falls" - they just fit that way.
I am trying to be positive and overcome the limitations that are in place right now. If my technical issue is solved, I would recommend upgrading to the new patch (1403 is the latest stable one in my opinion)

Need help on filtering out one record from a report and open in new page

Hi I am new and embarrassed to write in the forum asking silly questions. Thing is I am learning all from scratch without help from anyone. I have created a database (have previous knowledge only from Access) and have managed to create a beautiful report from a search filter. This report lines up several records matching what I needed. Now, I want to make the whole report with hyperlinks to a detailed page on each of the records in the report. I have tried using the feature where one can make one column hyperlinked and redirect to a new page, where I am getting all the records again - instead of only getting the record I am clicking on. I have looked and looked in the forums without finding solution and I have tested and tried various methods without luck. I am suspecting that I need some sort of knowledge on how to write a select query with where conditions that can apply to filtering out a record from one report to get another detailed on only one object (i.e. record). :/ Stupid or what?

What you need to look into is two things:
1) The link you defined, needs to set additional attributes for the target page. In the "Column Link" box, you have set the link to "Page in this Application" and followed by the page number (let's say, Page 10). Below that, you should set an Item to an item on you target page (let's call that P10_PRODUCT_ID). This item should be the primary key of your detail table (on the targe page). You can select this item from the popup list. The Value of the item should be picked from a popup list as well, being the value from the record you clicked on. This should then transfer your selected item to your page. The URL will then have something like P10_PRODUCT_ID:5 at the end.
2) On the target page, 10, you must change the query slightly, so that it adds a WHERE clause:
WHERE PRODUCT_ID = :P10_PRODUCT_ID
Now, you should be set.

Better yet, in your repeating group with the details, set the Maximum Records Per Page to 50. It would print at most 50 on each page.

How can i use link in report to go to new page with parameters??

I've created a report and have added a link (to a html url) to one of the columns. Whenever i click that column in a row, a new page appears. At this moment this page is static. However, i want to show the details of the selected row in the report. This means that somehow i have to pass a parameter to the second page with the primary key of the selected report row.
Is there any way to do this?

You can do this using SQL based reports.
Here is an example
select ''||empno||'' emplink,ename
from SCOTT.EMP
Here the link "http://forums.oracle.com/forums/message.jsp?id=" takes a parameter whose value is the empno.
In the column formatting section of SQL reports you should display this column as HTML and not TEXT.

PDF Merge - merged report ages are not continuous but starting in new page.

we tried using - FOUtility.mergeFOs(java.io.Reader[] foReaders, java.util.Properties prop) to merge and create a single PDF file but its not working as expected.
Issue:
The space of output pdf page 1 is discarded and the second merged file always starting in new page.
Input:
Report1 having 1 page
Report2 having 2 pages - (another description )
Expected Output PDF:
Page 1 ( report1) , Page 1( report 2's page1 and continues ) to page 2(report 2)
Actual Output PDF :
Page 1 ( report 1), Page 2( report 2's page1), Page 3 ( report 2's page 2)
Issue:
The space of output pdf page 1 is discarded and the second merged file always starting in new page.
Anyone faced this issue before, if yes, how did you solve it ?

The output is a chm file. I am compiling as MS HTML Help
under RoboHelp x5.
After doing a little more trail work, I have noticed some
other "strange" happenings. I can get the porjects to merge, but
from the TOC all of the articles open in a new window. From the
index, however, they all open as they should--in the topic frame
from the main window. Not sure why that is.
For a brief synopsis, here is what I have at this point:
A "master" project file that includes:
One new project for a section that is
complete.
One project from the existing documentation.
I am not sure if I need to have the window definitions for
each project would impact this or not.
Through trial and error, I have narrowed down the problem to
the original documentation project. If I remove it from the TOC and
generate the project, the new topics display as they should.
I will keep testing and see what I came come up with. If you
have any idea as to what I might change in the original
documentation to get it to work just let me know.

Probably it prints the headings and sub-headings.
2. Now, again in start-of-selection,
we have written,
CALL METHOD main->display_subheader.
CALL METHOD main->display_header.
, so it becomes twice.
3. Ideally it could be like this :
TOP-OF-PAGE.
CALL METHOD main->display_subheader.
CALL METHOD main->display_header.
Remove
CALL METHOD main->display_subheader.
CALL METHOD main->display_header.
from start-of-selection.

Creating a new page and new layout in a Parent/Child report.

Currently I have a Parent/Child Report in Oracle Reports 6i. The report shows Contracts as the parent and the detail of the contracts are the Ads. Sometimes there are many ads which extend the contract to another page. Just a normal Parent/Child report. This report can display many contracts at once. My problem is that at the end of each contract I need a new page with a different layout, for a disclaimer page. I've tried many different scenarios using Anchors and page breaks. Is this even possible with Oracle Reports 6i, to have a new page with a different layout in a contract level repeating frame? Any suggestions would help.

You have 2 repeating frames: R_contracts and R_ads. Create a frame M_disclaimer after R_ads, within R_contracts to hold the disclaimer page. This page will print after all the ad records have been printed, and before the new contract starts.
You can set Page Break Before on M_disclaimer to print this frame on a new page.

Report Designer - New Page

Hi,
We have created a report designer report that uses a Cost Center hierarchy. We want to display each node of the hierarchy on a new page. There is an option to select Page Break Before/After for the hierarchy header.
If we select Page Break Before, the issue with this is that the first page of the report displays as blank page and then it works fine. Is there any way to get the page breaks without the blank page?

Hi Erik,
In the Report Structure tab, drill down to your desired chracteristic. eg you will have Group level 0 > Group level 1: Company code > Group header 1 > 0COMP_CODE. Position on the characteristic and in the properties you will see a section "Rowpattern" where you can select page break before or after.
