Dependant files not Uploading to Server CS5

When I click "Yes" to upload dependant files to the server, DW doesn't upload them. For example, I added a downloadable PDF file to a page, saved it, clicked PUT to upload it to the server, and then when I went to the web and clicked on the link, I got the White Page File Not Found.
I have checked in my Site preferences, and my Site Manager and everything looks right, I'm not sure what I'm missing?

Dreamweaver CC not prompting to put dependent files when uploading ColdFusion .cfm files?

I just 'upgraded' (if you consider DW CC an upgrade) from CS6 to CC, and am having problems with .cfm files.
I have followed all the instructions to get DW CC to open and edit .cfm files..... and it does this just fine. I have also installed the server behaviours and databases panel extension.
However heres the BIG problem: when I want to upload a .cfm file to a server, I am no longer getting a prompt to upload dependent files! It prompts me fine if I upload a .html file, but not .cfm.
I mostly work with .cfm files and make changes to CSS files regularly. Whenever I upload a .cfm it is essential that DW also uploads the dependent files associated with it.
Please how can I fix this issues? I have gone into preferences and all the boxes are checked correctly to prompt for dependent files when putting/getting. I'm so stuck I'm thinking about cancelling my CC products and going back to CS6.

I have now discovered that DW CC does not prompt to upload dependent files if the file extension is .CFM or .ASPX.
This is seriously frustrating Adobe..... !!!

Sound file is not uploading to server

I am trying to upload a sound file to my remote server and it is saying the following:
Life_is_a_ Highway.mp3 - error occurred - An FTP error occurred - cannot put Life_is_a_ Highway.mp3. Access denied. The file may not exist, or there could be a permission problem. Make sure you have proper authorization on the server and the server is properly configured.
Does anyone know how to fix this?
I have tried passive ftp and that doesn't help
I have the underscores between the words in the file name
I cant figure it out.

Have you tried using a 3rd party FTP app like Filezilla?

Png files not uploading

I'm using a couple of png files on a page. If I upload the page and choose to upload the dependent files - which would include the png files - the png files never upload to the server. Jpg and gif files get uploaded fine, but not png. When I view the files in local view, the png files have red slash through them. What the...? CS5.5 is what I'm using. Any clues?

The red slash means that your png files are "cloaked" (to use DW lingo).
Cloaking is a feature in DW which enables you to mark file types or folders to be excluded from site operations such as Get and Put. e.g. you might upload a huge file just once then exclude it from future Puts to speed up your workflow. Sounds like your pngs have been cloaked inadvertently.

Copy dependant files not on site?

I have been using the same (html) template for two years. Tonight when i tried to save a page from the template ... I get this dialog box
Copy dependant files:
This file ... right_arrow.gif (My gif - which is in the images file) is used by this file is not on this site
Copy file
This does give me the option to save (rather copy)
Have I change something inadvertantly

.pdf file not opening in Illustrator CS5

All of a sudden, I cannot get ,pdf files to open in Illustrator CS5. what would cause this?

Or you may go further down the list.
The following is a general list of things you may try when the issue is not in a specific file (you may have tried/done some of them already); 1) and 2) are the easy ones for temporary strangenesses, and 3) and 4) are specifically aimed at possibly corrupt preferences); 5) is a list in itself, and 6) is the last resort.
If possible/applicable, you should save curent artwork first, of course.
1) Close down Illy and open again;
2) Restart the computer (you may do that up to 3 times);
3) Close down Illy and press Ctrl+Alt+Shift/Cmd+Option+Shift during startup (easy but irreversible);
4) Move the folder (follow the link with that name) with Illy closed (more tedious but also more thorough and reversible);
5) Look through and try out the relevant among the Other options (follow the link with that name, Item 7) is a list of usual suspects among other applications that may disturb and confuse Illy, Item 15) applies to CC, CS6, and maybe CS5);
Even more seriously, you may:
6) Uninstall, run the Cleaner Tool (if you have CS3/CS4/CS5/CS6/CC), and reinstall.

Servlet File Not running on Server

I have a servlet file named "TestServlet", when I run this file(http://mydomain.com/TestServlet) on server it won't run, but its running on my local machine. Am using Tomcat 5.5.9 and jdk1.5.0_05 and Server configuration also same as my local machine configuration. Please! let me know any suggestion that why its not running on server machine.

Some Files not uploading to host server..help!

Hi, I am doing my first website on CC, and when i upload the files to the server, it is not putting all (3) of the files over. It says they may not exist(they do),or check permissions. I must tell you, that i clicked cancel the first time when uploading. Maybe this has corrupted these files?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Video file not uploaded

I made some links to video files. I had done this before with audio files, published the site via .mac and it worked fine.
Now with videos I make a link to a video file and it works sometimes, and sometimes the file is not not loaded to the web. Strange - why?

I tried another FLV file with the same result.
I uploaded to two separate servers - on the secure server I did the old "drag and drop".
On our non-secure server, I was able to export the SWF directly to that web folder system.
Either way, I received the same result.
Neither video will open in Adobe Media Encoder (another program I have but know nothing about) - I received the a File Import Error stating "The source compresssion type is not supported."
They both open and function fine in Adobe Media Player (and if exported as SWF to my desktop).

Photoshop 5.1 files not saving to server. Permission Error

I just started to install Mac OS 10.10 on some test user's Mac computers here at work. I had done a clean install using Casper Suite to image and built the packages. I upgraded Three Mac and had to stop. All three users are having the same problem with Photoshop 5.1. Users open file from a share point off a Mac Server that is at Mac OS 10.8. The share is mounted on user's desktop. User then modify the file. Then does a save and they get an error ( do not have the right permissions ). I checked permission on server. These users are in the correct OD group. Verified that the group had read/write to those needed folders. All is set correctly.
I did Adobe's updates. Some how I got one of the three Macs working.

What error do you get when going to Help>Updates in photoshop cs5.1?

Project Files Not Deleted From Server

Application: Robohelp6/Server6 and earlier versions. Don't
know about 7 or 8.

Background: Whenever I delete a topic from the publisher and
publisher a project to our server, the htm file for that topic is
not deleted. I started calling them "ghost" files because they
should be dead and gone. Some users access these files following a
direct URL hence providing them with outdated information. They
don't normally appear in the application search results but
hyperlinks to them work until the file is removed.
I've tried different publishing options to get them removed.
Check for delete files and republish entire project. The only way I
found to get rid of them is to delete the file from the server
manually. Another option is to delete the project from the server
and republish everything.
Question: Can anyone explain what is going on and if there is
something I can to make sure they are automatically deleted when
publishing.

I don't believe anything in RoboHelp publishing will actually
ever delete files. It's my experience that any file that needs to
be removed from the server has to be accomplished manually.
So I know this calls into question what exactly does the
option "Check for deleted files" actually DO?" Am I right?
Here's the deal. Upon publishing, a list is created. The
first round takes longest as it is also creating the list. When you
publish again, files are compared to the list.
Need updating? Nope. Skip it and move on.
Need updating? Yes. Copy and replace the file.
The option to check for deleted files slows the process. The
process then becomes:
Need updating? Nope. Does it still exist on server? Yes. Skip
it and move on.
Need updating? Yes. Copy and replace the file.
Need updating? Nope. Does it still exist on server? Nope.
Copy the file and move on.
Hopefully that helps you better understand what is happening.

Background job - failing when file not on app server

Hi Experts,
I am facing an issue, while I am trying to run a program in background.
Let me explain u the situation.
My program runs in background and pick one file from predifined folder from application server and process that file. if file is not in the folder batch job goes into cancel status. but what i want if proposed file is not available then batch job will run and finished; it should not go into cancle status.

Trimmed Quicktime Time code Media Files not reading correctly in CS5+ (works in CS4).

I'm using Prores footage with metadata Timecode inserted into the Quicktime file. Then I edit the Quicktime file, click "Save" and then import the trimmed file into APP CS4. CS4 recognizes the edited clip and displays the timecode correctly (adhearing to the trims made on the file with Quicktime).
BUT, in CS5, when I use the SAME clips, the timecode displays what the untrimmed timecode on the trimmed image. So now, my timecode is OFF.
Really want to figure out how to fix this. Does CS6 fix this issue? Is there a preference or custom setting I need to select in order to have CS5 adhere to the metadata stored in the Quicktime file's timcode information?

There is a difference between Save and Save As in QuickTime Player. When you Save after trimming, the trimmed data remains in the file and takes up the same amount of space as before. When you Save As, the trimmed data is not included and you end up with a smaller file.
I don't know why CS5 is behaving differently but it's more efficient to Save As and it will solve the CS5 problem too.

CR2 Files Not Recognized in Photoshop CS5

I've been having an issue trying to get a few cr2 files to open in CS5. I have about 800 cr2 files and all will open but about 100. I can't figure out what the issue is with this group of images compared to the rest. They won't open in Bridge or Lightroom 3 either. Any thoughts or ideas on what I could do to remedy this issue?

Worse that being screwed, is not knowing what is wrong so you can't fix it without guessing any maybe not guessing right. Use a new CF card use a card-reader and maybe the situation won't happen, again, is the best you can do going forward.
As far as what to do for the photos from this set, if the card has not been reused completely, again, then you can try recovering the photos off the card, to see if any photos from the batch that doesn't work, remain, and see if they copy off any better the second time. If they do copy off ok, then there is likely something wrong with the transfer process and less likely that it is the CF card.
The software I've used when I've accidentally deleted photos off the card when I shouldn't have, is PhotoRescue from www.DataRescue.com I have one of the older versions so I'm not sure what it corresponds to with the newer set. It costs money, but you can run a scan of the card, first, to see if it finds thumbnails of the images it is going to recover, but you have to pay before you can actually save off the photos it has found.
If you haven't used the card at all since you discovered the problem, meaning you've merely moved the photos off of it and it is now empty, perhaps even formatted, but no low-level formatted, then you have a good chance of being able to recover most of the photos--basically undelete them. If you've shoot more photos over the top of the deleted ones or low-level formatted the card, the chance is lower than you'll be able to get the photos back.
