Dependency between reports and subject area

Hi,
We are using OBIEE 10.1.3.3.
I would like to find out all the reports in a catalog which are dependent on a specific Subject Area.
Is there a way to quickly determine that ? Any suggestions are appreciated.

In the newer versions you can use an option in the catalog manager 'Create Report' which will extract Report Name, Subject area, etc....and puts in a csv file which will meet your purpose. I am not sure if this feature is available in x.3.3

in this situation u have to creat new Z table and Z transaction with link of this both . it will solve ur problem . better to take abaper help other wise u can use T-CODE se11 to creat table.

Time stamps in reports and status are 7hrs off, is there a setting?

Time stamps in reports and status are 7hrs off, is there a regional setting to correct this?
When I run e-load all reports and any other time stamps are 7 hours off. (If I run a test at 9:20am pacific time the e-load shows 4:20pm). The e-test scripts show the correct time if I run those via e-test.
Is there a setting for this?

Actually, this is a known issue on Vista.
You need to edit the follwoing file to specify your timezone;
\Empirix\EmpAppServer\bin\JbossService.conf

Yes Tanmaya you are right,
Say You DI2 system & you have 410, 420 ,430 clients in it, then these objects will be visible in all these clients.
say you have DI4 system 410, 420, 430 clients so you have to transport them to DI4 & to other sytems also like QD1, PD1 etc.

Relation between Responsibility and Business Area

I have a requirement wherein i have to make a particular workbook available in specific responsibilities.
Now when i have to create a folder then how do i know in which Business Area should i create the folder.
Basically i need to know the relation between Responsibility and Business Area i.e which Business Area i should create the folder so that it is visible in desired responsibilities.
Is there any way possible i can know this.

You can do that in two ways:
1. Go to the administrator and check the sharing BA for each responsibility you require.
2. Query the database to retrieve the sharing.
Do whatever you find easier.

i had this same doubt for a long time and i have my finds with me ie wa and structure are the same but wa can hold a single record but structure cannot hold data in it but according to the previous posts folks say structure too holds data as wa does but i guess when debugging wa holds data and structure doesnt hold bcoz i tried.

Need to create a job history report - what subject areas have this detail?

I need to create a report that shows all the history of an employee's job title, date changed, etc., what Subject Area provided this detail?
Employee ID, Name, Effective Date, Job Code, Job Title
Example:

Yes, but it only has one generic Date column, no start date and end date. I can't use that twice in the prompt. Although I can specify it to be 'between', but I'm not sure I can pass values to both variables like that.
Currently I have used Campaign Start Date and Campaign End Date to enter values in calender format to the variables.

Link between reports and universes

Hi,
How to have automatically the link between Universes and Reports in a repository ?
Which universes are used and by which reports ?
I know where to get the information manually on the report but I don't how to get it automatically.
Is it possible to make a request on meta model ? Is there a tool provided ?

You have to install Auditing (unless it was installed with the initial install, which it looks like for you it wasn't).
Locate the PDF "BusinessObjects Enterprise(tm) XI Release 2 Auditor's Guide" (xir2_bip_auditor_en.pdf).
You will find, among other things, that you will have to locate your software and go through another installing situation, but this time choosing to only add the missing piece (Auditor) -- best to read through the PDF first to get a handle on everthing you need to set up. Also know that DeskI activity is not captured, just WebI (Infoview, modify report, etc).

Auto create dependency between ViewController and ApplicationController

Hi all,
When you create a new ADF Mobile app, you will automatically create two projects: ViewController and ApplicationController.
I noticed that these are not related, that is, a dependency between these is not created in the ViewController.
I think you will need this dependency whenever you work with an on device database, in order to make a connection to that database.
At least, that is the way all the demos work, and I would probably do that myself as well.
So why not create the dependency by default.

We purposely did not create the dependency because it is not required by all applications. The main reason is for modularity. We have made the "ViewController" projects reusable modules and you can create a "Feature Archive" (akin to an ADF Library) as a deployment profile for these modules and thus an application can comprise of many features from different feature archives. It can be limiting if your app assumes there is a direct dependency on the AppController project because then you would not be able to create a feature archive without including that as well and it would conflict with other apps that already have that project and it's contents. If you are sure you don't want your project to be reused as a feature archive then it is ok to add the dependency.

Alert log: failed to establish dependency between database and diskgroup

Hi, I have a database 11.2.0 with ASM. When I startup an instance I see this error in alert log:
ERROR: failed to establish dependency between database SPBUFOR and diskgroup resource ora.SPBUFOR_FLASH.dg
SPBUFOR_FLASH is a diskgroup where a flash recovery area is located.
Database is opened cleanly but I need to know that everything works fine.
How can I resolve this issue ?

Handling Reports if subject area is changed

Hi,
We are using OBIEE 11g. We developed around 30 reports and around 50 prompts but problem is the Subject Area we used is now INVAID because its Re-Named.
My Question is what is the fastest way to link the reports and prompts to new subject area assuming all the table and column names will be same.

You can create aliases for the subject area to reflect the same name used prior to the change. In order to do that follow the steps below:
1) Open the RPD.
2) Double click on the subject area which was renamed and navigate to the aliases tab.
3) Click on New Icon and type the subject area name prior to the change.

Using session storage between Report and Frame Driver

I have an existing report that has a link calling a frame driver with multiple forms. I would like to make the Initial Target Frame Content dynamic based on information contained in the targeted record of the report. I am able to make this work (in basic concept) on the frame driver side, but have not been able to pass session variables from the report side. I can, of course, pass bind variables via a link from the report. Does anyone know of a way to access the parameter bind varaiables in the frame driver component using session storage or something else in order to make these variables available to the PL/Sql of the Initial Target Frame?

web page (where the servlet is located) is refreshed!In Portal 10g (and maybe even in 9.0.2.6) the Web provider session is not lost any more when the user logs in to Portal.

from PL/SQL session storage?No, you cannot share the session between database and Web providers. You need to find other ways to share information between portlets belonging to different providers. You can use parameter passing, or a persistent store, such as the database.
Java session storage doesn't use domain name or
subdomain which are mandatory for PL/SQL session
storage.The domain, sub-domain strings are irrelevant, as long as you can uniquely identify your session variable. For example, if you want to make sure that you have a separate session variable for every portlet instance, you should include the preference path in your domain or sub-domain. In case you want to share the session store between your portlets, don't include the unique portlet ID.
