Dependent File Upload, Where to turn off?

Since re-installing DW CS4 due to another problem which BTW still isn't solved, see thread elsewhere, when I update single file, Dreamweaver tries to upload ALL the files for the site, I've scoured preferences and can find nowhere to switch this off, can someone help please. Thank you

Did you try the "Site">"Synchronize Sitewide" meun command. Then in the dialog box that appears, under direction, choose "Put newer files to remote" Option.
This will scan entire site for only newer files then will give you the option to only upload newer ones.
Or, an easier way to update only 1 file, is to simply select the file in the files panel and right click on the file and choose Synchronize. It will only update that file.

Files and font sync turns off when I work with InDesign directly on the CC disctop files folder. It use to be ok to work directly in sync mode, but apparently not any more. I guess the problem is the backup file that InDesign creates, that consist of signs behaps not allowed (?). It use to work for me, but not any more..?
Do anyone els have the same problem?

Thanks for your reply. In the Creative Cloud Help page I get, it says: "Save and close the file when you're done editing it and the error goes away.", but I actually have to reconnect. The bad thing about this is that it turns off the font sync as well when I was working.
I have temporarely solved the problem, simply be changing the name of the file I'm working on. I have tryed to reproduce it with a different name - all with leagal signs according to the page mensioned above - with no success (which is positive). Then I tryed to move the file to a new folder within the folder I was working on, and then it worked without problem. Strange.
I guess, if I run in to the same problem again, I will just try to change the name.

Allow active content to run files on my computer - turns off each time system is rebooted.

I seem to have an issue with setting the allow active content to run files on my computer in internet explorer. Each time I turn it on reboot the computer the setting is turned off.
This computer is on a domain, but there are no domain policies for internet explorer.
Any idea's why this is turning off each time I reboot?

Auto detect "unplugged monitor", where to turn off?

I need to know this since windows thinks that my monitor gets unplugged when I turn it off and use displayport (DP) as a media to transfer the image. This will be a big issue for windows if its not fixed soon since DP more or less always registers as "unplugged"
when the monitor is off.
Any1 know a solution to this problem? its bad when u need to change the resolution back to normal each time you start the computer and forgett to start one of the monitors...

Ive got a NVidia GTX 580 SLI setup and other ppl in the thread descibes the exact problem I have but with AMD cards. There are also several other threads that describes problems with displayport and monitors turned off.
This is clearly a windows fail and not a graphicscard bug since it works fine with HDMI which does not make the "new hardware detected" sound when you remove the monitor.
This needs to be fixed or atleast looked at. I cant really use my screen fully now (wanted to hook my PS3 via HDMI to the screen and my PC with DP as secondary monitor for the comp)
I can also add that I have the latest drivers for my GTX580 card (so dont ask me to update the drivers).

CANNOT FREE UP SPACE! File Vault won't turn off!

My computer is full! Even though I've deleted lots of large files, it will not free up space. Legacy file vault is turned on but I cannot turn it off due to lack of space to do so. It is asking me 300GB to turn it off! My HD is 320GB!! crazy system!

hi there,
have you emptied the paper bin in the lower right corner of your screen? Normal deletion moves files there, disk space is not freed until that paper bin has been emptied. To empty it, do a right click on the paper bin and select Empty.

Safari's initial page load delay... where to turn off or change?

Hi,
A while back I read that Safari puts a few seconds delay when loading a new webpage, .. and 4.03 still has it. I just can't find where it was that I read how to take it off.. Does any one know?
Basically I want Safari to start drawing the page as soon as it gets to it, kind of like opera does.
Just in case Why don't I just use opera? I prefer Safari, but I don't always need the initial page that is loading but a link on it... and I find myself waiting.. and on fast connection, just to load a page I shouldn't have to be waiting until the browser feels the page load is complete.

There's no delay feature that you are referring to in Safari. If you can find the article you read, could you please post it here?
Have you tried emptying the cache?
From the Safari Menu Bar, click Safari/Empty Cache
Also, try using Open DNS

I have to turn off Firewall to send files to ftp server

My ISP changed to a different server, since when I have had to turn off the firewall on my Mac 10.4.8 if I want to connect to it to upload or download files.
If the Firewall is on, Transmit (my ftp program) seems to be able to log in, but the list of files doesn't appear. The staus reads as 'status: retrieving list of files'. When I turn off the Firewall, the list of files appears.
Have 'passive mode' on or off makes no difference.
Any thoughts gratefully received.

Have you asked your ISP what changes you might be required to make?
They changed something required to login. Why is this a "mac" issue?
When you have Firewall turned on, and try an upload...you can examine the logs to see what kind of things are logged during this apparent FTP failure.
OK, Have you tried another FTP client? (CyberDuck, Fetch, etc)
Have you tried using Terminal to do a manual FTP (and do away with the silly GUI's?)
Enable firewall
open Terminal.
type ftp<enter>
type open [name/IP of your server location]<enter>
you'll be asked for authientication...login...
type ls<enter> {that's an ell, and an ess}
Any results? (type quit<enter> to end your FTP session

How to preview tif files with eyes turned off?

Hello,
When working with tif files, I usually put all layers in a folder, and turned off the "eye" on the layer panel. So the size of the tif file would reduce to half.
But there's no way to preview the tif file with its eyes turned off in Mac.
Is there a mac plug-in that let you do that?

If Preview ignores embedded thumbnails and displays the full image, then this is really outside Adobe's control....
If I understand the OP’s statement

correctly the thumbnail would be »empty« because everything is hidden in Photoshop so the empty/white preview would be correct.

Turn off or override macro from Oracle Reports?

When we publish reports using an XML Publisher template in EBS R12, we get an Excel file with macros that turn off the cell headers in Excel and add unnecessary page breaks that are not part of the FSG or template. Does this macro reside on the XML Publisher server? If so, where? Can it be modified or removed? Any guidance is appreciated.

PSE 7 Welcome Screen startup options and turning off the advertising

The PSE 7 Welcome Screen no longer provides a start-up option for bypassing it and going directly to the Organizer or Editor. In addition, many people are annoyed by the advertising for Photoshop.com on the Welcome Screen and by the constant flashing tips in the lower right corner of the Organizer and Editor.
Here are some workarounds:
Create shortcuts directly to the Organizer and Editor. Use Windows Explorer to navigate to
> C:\Program Files\Adobe\Photoshop Elements 7.0
Find the file PhotoshopelementsEditor.exe, right-click it, and select Create Shortcut. You can then drag the shortcut to your desktop or the Start Menu. Alternatively, you can right click photoshopelementseditor.exe and click Pin To Start Menu, which will place a shortcut on the Windows Start menu. Do the same thing for the file PhotoshopElementsOrganizer.exe.

I am using XP and the path to the folder is as follows:

I am only interested in changing the tips (in the lower right corner that lead you to photoshop.com) in the Editor, since I do not use the Welcome Screen or Organizer.

Hey, I just wanted to let you know I've been having the same issue with the new 3.0 update for Numbers and just found a keyboard shortcut that has helped me a great deal. I guess I'll be using this until they add an option to turn that "Return Key Moves to Next Cell" off, like the older versions had...
Anyway, if you place the cursor where you'd like a line break and press Ctrl+O (mind you I do mean Ctrl and NOT Command here), it will insert a line break at that place. Hope this helps!

Pc turns off when ipod syncs

recently installed windows 8 to my laptop.
installed itunes and moved my library over and started to sync my ipod.
took ages to update my apps, and then started to sync my music. got to about 30 files and my pc turns off - no warning, no blue screen of death, just off. can turn it back on again, and it'll start again but gets to anywhere between 10-40 songs when it turns off.
tried everything suggested elsewhere - reinstalled drivers, changed the cable, run it as an administrator, everything - nothing has made any difference. Apparently there is another support page but it's not opening anymore.
anybody any ideas as i have now run out.
