Dependent Files for Crystal Report missing while making Setup

Hi Support Team
I am trying to make a MSI Setup of my windows application by using Install Shield 2010
Development Environment that is used to develop the application is
VS 2008 having .Net Framework 3.5 SP1
Crystal Reports 2008 with Service pack 2
When I am trying to build the setup for my application using Install Shield 2010 I am getting errors related to crystal reports.
I am using CrystalDecisions.Windows.Forms.CrystalReportViewer control to display the reports at runtime.
Dlls that I included with the setup related to this viewer are
CrystalDecision.CrystalReports.Engine
CrystalDecision.CrystalReports.Framework
CrystalDecision.CrystalReports.InfoStore
CrystalDecision.CrystalReports.ReportSource
CrystalDecision.CrystalReports.Shared
CrystalDecision.Windows.Forms
The Errors that I am getting upon building the setup are listed below
Could not find dependent file BussinessObjects.Enterprise.Sdk, or One of its dependencies of component CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine.dll Error Code 6248
Could not find dependent file crpe32.dll, or one of its dependencies of component CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine.dll
u2dmapi.dll-------
u2dpost.dll----
And the same errors for
CrystalDecision.Enterprise.Framework.dll
CrystalDecision.Enterprise.InfoStore.dll
CrystalDecision.windows.forms.dll
And File not found. An error occurred merging module DMO.9b0u2026u2026u2026 Error Code 4075
And File not found. An error occurred merging module DMO1033.6496u2026u2026u2026 Error Code 4075
I tried your several suggestions from your forums like
I installed
Crystal Reports 2008 Runtime
Crystal Reports Basic Runtime for Visual Studio 2008
Crystal Reports Basic for Visual Studio 2008 Service pack1
And
CRBasicVS2008_redistu2026.
CRRedist2008_x86.msi
And by putting the files like Product.xml in the C:\Program Files\Microsoft SDKs\Windows\v6.0A\Bootstrapper\Packages
And I installed vcredist_x86.exe to install Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable on my machine
But no luck still I am getting the same errors.
Please let me know which files I need to install on my development machine to get my setup working.
Waiting eagerly for the response
With Regards
Arshad

Looks to me like you're adding just about any runtime to the project to make it work. Look at [this|https://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/pages/viewpage.action?pageId=56787567] wiki and find out what runtime you actually need. Also, look at the CR assemblies referenced in your project. Then make sure that the you are using the correct msm file(s) for the correct version of the assemblies referenced. Do not add any other versions of CR msm files.
I would also recommend having a look at the developer help file here;
http://help.sap.com/businessobject/product_guides/boexir31/en/crsdk_net_dg_12_en.chm
(search for runtime).

• Large Sample Files for Crystal Reports

Hi, I have an issue where trying to view large Crystal Reports files causes the Web Viewer to crash. Does anyone know where I can find a sample Crystal Reports file larger than 20MB that I can use to recreate this problem? Thanks.

hi Shannon,
you can quickly create a large report file size by putting a bunch of large images (using Insert > Picture) in the details section of a report that contains several thousand records.

• Merge files or redist installer for Crystal Reports 2011

I cannot find packages for merge files or installer for the redistribution files for Crystal Reports 2011. I have found them only for older versions. In the download section there is somewhere a hint that they are at a different position but no information where.
Can anyone help me?
Thank you

Hi Don,
thank you. It is ok using the files you indicated me. But there are still some doubts.
What does happen on a machine where a designer 2011 (internal version 14) is installed and an application that uses the dlls for Visual Studio 2010 (internal version 13). Does this work without problems?
In a readme for the redistributables for Visual Studio 2010 I have found the following text which I cannot interprete:
If you have installed Crystal Reports 2011 or any of the SAP BusinessObjects XI 4.0 products,
you may notice that their installation contains the same "Crystal Reports 2011" and "SAP
BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 4.0" folders as you see in this folder. Please note that the
folder/files names may be the same but most files have a different version, and are not
compatible with the Crystal Reports 2011 or SAP BusinessObjects XI 4.0 products.
Currently we want to upgrade our programs from Crystal Reports 9 to 2011 and we have many installations where for one machine the Crystal Reports Designer is needed together with our applications.

• How to get the ard file of crystal reports

Hi all,
I have downloaded crystal reports from sap market place but i dont have .ard file for that how to transfer that reports into sap. How to get the ard file please help me out.
Thanks & Regards,
Murtuza Ahmed.

When you click on your SAPCrystalSetup.exe and select the path to your add-on folder it will install the files and your ard file will be situated in your add-on folder. Then you can start SAP up and install it from SAP.
So if your SAP install is in your local drive your ard file for crystal reports should be here C:\Program Files\SAP\SAP Business One\AddOns\SAP_CR
Hope this helps.

According to the release notes, for the JRCHelperSample to compile, you must set the target runtime for the project.
To do this, either create a project from scratch that uses the Tomcat 5.5 target runtime, or go to the properties menu and ensure that the target runtime is set to the application server you will be using.

• Crystal Reports - missing dynamic parameters when published to InfoView

Hi all,
I'm facing a problem when I publish Crystal Reports 2008 V1 which includes dynamic parameters on InfoView (either on BO EDGE 3.1 or Crystal Reports Server 2008 V1). Problem manifests itself in missing dinamic parameters - I get only static parameter panel and need to write in the value by myself... All other documents like Webi, Deski (on BO EDGE) works fine.
I have tried to install all latest Service Pack's for Crystal Reports 2008 V1 but it didn't solve the problem. Btw, Crystal Reports 2008 V1 designer is installed on client machine.
Here are the details of both installations:
BO EDGE 3.1.
OS: Windows Server 2003 SP2
Repository database: MS SQL Server 2005
CR Server 2008 V1
OS: Windows Server 2003 SP2
Repository database: MySQL
Does anyone had a same problem?
I will appreciate any help!
Best regrads

I had the same situation when I changed from a SQL server 2005 data source to a SQL server 2008 data source while using CR 2008. Change printer option default in the report designer to use u201CNo Printer (optimize for screen display) and republish to InfoView. Not sure why this would work, but it resolved the issue for us.

• Unable to load password protected Accdb file using crystal reports 2008

• DB2 support for Crystal Reports for Enterprise And Unx errors

Hi,
I have a requirement to create a report in CrystalReports for Enterprise 4 sourcing data from Oracle 11 and IBM DB2 V9 databases. My first approach is to create relational connections for both the databases in the BO Repository (using Universe designer) and use them directley in the CR for Enterprise. Here I was able to create the two connections but unable to use the DB2 connnection in the report. I get the below error:
"The Database DB2V9 is not supported".
Is DB2 is a supported database for Crystal reports for Enterprise ??
My second approach is to create a multisource universe using IDT. Here when I try to create the Datafoundation layer, I get to see the tables from the DB2 databasae but When I expand the Oracle connection, I get this error: "conversion from UTF8 to charset failed: encoding not loaded".
Im unable to create a multisource universe at all no matter what connections I use.
Here is some additional info:
SAP BI4.1 SP1
Windows 2008 R2 servers
Oracle 11g
IBM DB2 V9.7
Any suggestions please!
Thanks,
Ravinder

Hi,
First of all I would strongly advice you to only use IDT for your universe development. The old Universe Designer is a legacy tool and should not be used unless you are using products that doesn't support IDT universes.
The issue you are facing for your Oracle connection is likely caused by a missing path variable.
Add "C:\Program Files (x86)\SAP BusinessObjects\SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 4.0\win64_x64" to the PATH environment variables on the SAP Business Objects Enterprise server.
Restart the SIA
NOTE: Modify the path in case the SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise is installed in different folder.
Hope this helps.
Cheers,
Josh

• Over 12 minutes required to merely OPEN a .rpt file in Crystal Reports version 8.5

Post Author: Rob Kramar
CA Forum: General
Background: Our division has 3 networked, but geographically dispersed, plants; each plant runs MS SQL Server and Crystal Reports on local servers. A rather complex (version 8.5) Crystal Reports .rpt file (main report plus 12 subreports) exists and executes in one of our distant plants against a MS SQL Server database located there. I copied that .rpt file to my local server (CTXB) which has Crystal Reports 8.5 installed and which I can access via Citrix from my PC. I "repointed" that report to our local MS SQL Server database (located on a different server [CTXA] on my local network) [which uses the same database schema as the database in the other plant] by setting up a new ODBC driver, using the Convert Database Driver function, and using the Set Location function. I applied these changes to the main report and each of the subreports individually. I dropped all the links in Visual Linking in the main report and in each of the subreports and recreated each link. I did a Verify Database on the modified report (which appeared to check the main and each of the 12 subreports). I ran the report within Crystal Reports v8.5 and verified that the output is correct based on my local MS SQL Server data (on server CTXA). I saved the .rpt file on server CTXB and exited Crystal Reports v8.5. I did all the above work on server CTXB via Citrix from my local, networked PC.
Problem: When I try to reopen the .rpt file in Crystal Reports v8.5 (via Citrix on Server CTXB) it consistently takes over 12 minutes to merely open the report. Once opened, it executes with acceptable speed within Crystal Reports v8.5 and produces accurate results.
Note: If I compile the report in v8.5 on server CTXB (via Citrix), and attempt to execute the compiled report on CTXB (via Citrix), the popup with the u201CPrintu201D, u201CDoneu201D, and u201CAboutu201D buttons appears immediately, but an hourglass also appears that prevents me from clicking the u201CPrintu201D button for over 6 minutes. Once the hourglass disappears, that popup works normally and the report executes with acceptable speed (about 4 seconds) after I click the u201CPrintu201D button for a single execution. If I then close the output display window and try to immediately rerun the report (from the u201CPrintu201D, u201CDoneu201D, u201CAboutu201D popup which is still visible) by clicking the u201CPrintu201D button, the hourglass returns again for another 6+ minutes. A third such iteration results in an u201Chourglass lockoutu201D of over 6 minutes.
Note also: I can open that same .rpt file (stored on server CTXB) in Crystal v7.0 on my local PC, and it opens in less than 5 seconds.

According to the release notes, for the JRCHelperSample to compile, you must set the target runtime for the project.
To do this, either create a project from scratch that uses the Tomcat 5.5 target runtime, or go to the properties menu and ensure that the target runtime is set to the application server you will be using.

• JRC Deployment Guide for Crystal Reports 2008

I just downloaded a trial version of Crystal Reports 2008 & was testing out the integration of this component into our Java web based application.
I found the "Crystal Reports XI Release 2 - Java Reporting Component Deployment Guide" PDF file, but I was wondering if there was a more recent version of this guide for Crystal Reports 2008. Maybe I'm a bit confused regarding the versions but this guide currently references JARs in a folder under ...\3.5\java\lib. However, when I looked in the same section of Crystal 2008, I noticed it was \4.0\java\lib & the JARs are different.
Is there a new JRC Depolyment Guide for Crystal Reports 2008?...If not, is there any documentation I can use to map between the 3.5 libraries and the 4.0 libraries?
Thanks

Hi,
There is no separate JRC has been launched for the CR 2008.
But SAP has launched the Crystal Reports 4 Eclipse 2.0 in which CR 2008 has been integraqted with backword compatibility.

Hi,
Are you talking about the fields coming from the Data Source Explorer?.
If "Yes" then there is no such limits.
Are you able to run the report through the eclipse designer?
Thanks,

Please let me know if crystal reports has any option to assign the FalshOvjectInstance dynamically.
CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.ViewerObjectModel.FlashObjectInstance f = new CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.ViewerObjectModel.FlashObjectInstance();
f.SWFLocation = @"D:\Project\Test\Test_Management\test.swf";Thanks,

• BOBJ 4.0 Upgrade: Impact on Int Kit customizations for crystal reports?

BW Version 7.01
BOBJ version XI 3.1
We would like to upgrade to BOBJ 4.0, could anyone provide input on these questions?
1 - Can we keep BW 7.01, or do we need to look into upgrading to 7.3? We'd prefer to not touch bw now. If we move to bobj 4.0, does BW need to be touched?
2 - We have modified these function modules in BW (i believe they are part of the integration kit in SAP BW) to meet end user requirements for crystal reports; will crystal reports in BOBJ 4.0 still work with these? I believe one of the improvements is that these aren't used anymore for performance reasons???
BAPI_MDPROVIDER_GET_VARIABLE
BAPI_MDDATASET_CREATE_OBJECT
BAPI_MDDATASET_GET_AXIS_DATA
BAPI_MDPROVIDER_GET_MEMBERS
BAPI_MDPROVIDER_GET_MEMBERS
3 - 99% of our reports are crystal, are there any other hurdles or reasons why we should be cautious moving to 4.0? We are looking to roll out explorer, webi, and xcelsius and would rather go ahead and catch up to 4.0...
Thanks,
Matt

Hi,
1. i'd recommend having a seperate BW for BI4 purposes. If anything, it makes management of integration TRANSPORTs much easier, given that you can only have 1 version active..
(yes, although there's no SAP IK Kit, transports are still imported into backend)
2. OLAP BAPI access is still there in BI4.0, namely for the CR 2011 tool with BW MDX Driver , and for Webi documents using the legacy Universe Design Tool OLAP.unv file.
the new OLAP data access driver for SAP in BI4.0 is the BW's BI Consumer Service (BICS API). The function modules for this are generally called: BICS_PROV_GET*
3. No hurdle at all. You can migrate your content as-is without fear of change. that's principally why the CR 2011 client is there for the 4.0 RTC - for adoption and onboarding. That legacy CR client technology is wholy unchanged, apart from .xlsx support and a 'read only' save mode.
the Crystal for Enterprise product is still playing catch up. It hasn't got all (any) of the direct drivers you would expect from crystal, but it can consume the new .unx common semantic layer and the BICS jco driver (neither of which the CR2011 product can)
... as of 4.1 (Q1 2012) the fit-gap in features is answered. i.e. they've all been fwd ported.
i hope this helps

H
