Deploy Adobe Connect for outside user access

I am deploying Adobe Connect 8.2.0 and it works great internally on my domain running SSL on both the App and Meeting Server. I was wondering what is the best way to grant access to outside users to connect to meetings hosted from my "on-premise" Adobe Connect Server? By best way, I mean the most secure not only for Adobe Connect but as well as my domain.
I thought about standing up an Edge server in the DMZ but I was told not many companies do this for what I am looking for, and that mostly they simply use a proxy and poke some holes in the firewall to let in the traffic.
So how does everyone else do it?

In my experience, most people don't like to "poke some holes int he firewall" as it poses other security risks. The Edge server is a valid method of getting externall access to the Connect server. However for getting advice on how other people have done this, I would post your question to the Connect User Community at http://www.connectusers.com/forums/cucbb/
There are many knowledgeable Connect Admins there and they should have good advice for you there.

    I have loaded Adobe Connect for iPad on my iPad 3. We are using Connect 9 on-premises. I wanted to test how it works, so on my PC, I set up a Meeting and added a new user that I created in Users and Groups as an iPad Connect user. I started the meeting on my PC and pasted the URL for the meeting (after connecting through wireless and VPN). I was asked to login. So I used the Member selection and got the following error when I attempted to connect: "User Limit for this account has been exceeded". So I tried to back out and login as a Guest. I got so far as to have the request to be accepted to the meeting go to the host (me on my PC). I accepted the request, but then I got the same error message. Any ideas what I can do to resolve this.

    A folio can only either have all article in single orientation (portrait/landscape) or both. Check to make sure all article share the same oreitnation flow throughout

    If i buy Adobe Connect for individuals i can choos to buy it for month or for a year, and i can buy for just 1 host.
    If i buy as a company, they said to me that i have to buy almost 3 hosts licences and i have to pay a una tantum fee.
    The limit for 100 attendees is valid for the individual version too?
    What is the difference? Quality of conference is the same?

    They are one in the same. 100 user limit is a software license limitation not a true limit and it applies to both.
    Suggest you take up these questions up with the sales team on the site.  This is a technical forum and the folks that watch here are not in the sales area.
    Looks like the annual plan saves about $10 a month per host account.  Monthly is no commitment but more expensive. Your choice.
    If you only need one host account then use the individual.

    You must be accessing the iTunes Store in the U.S. You can't buy an iTunes card in your country (i need to know this), so try making a new account with the payment option as a Visa Credit Card. Have you bought that Pre-paid Visa credit card yet and loaded money on it? If you haven't, you will probably have to.

    Its a late response... but if someone gets the same issue here is the solution.
    When you register try uppercase password . That should take care of that issue.
    The problem is with function module CRM_ISA_IUSER_SWITCH , Note 946536.
    Although the note says 5.0 the problem exists with ISA 4.0 too

    I did not try this, but maybe I've got an idea...
    You can catch the onload event of the BP form and the switch record event (First, Previous, Next & last record button in the data menu). The first (onload) do you need when someone enters the BP form by clicking elsewhere on a linked button. The other you need when someone is walking through the records on the BP form. (by accessing the form using the menu)
    Catching those two events, you can get the value of the BP Code field, and check if the current user is allowed to see it. If not, disable (if they are not allowed to edit) or hide (when not allowed to see) the items on the screen (that are a lot of items, I know) and display a nice message that they are not allowed to edit/view that BP.
    The ID's of the form and the buttons:
    - FormUID BP: 134
    - MenuUID First record: 1290
    - MenuUID Previous record: 1288
    - MenuUID Next record: 1289
    - MenuUID Last record: 1291

    I have configured RDS setup, with the following Roles: RD Web Access, RD Gate Way, RD Connection Broker, RD Session Host and RD Licensing.
    the problem is that the domain users can't run the published applications unless I add the "Domain Users" group into the remote desktop users on the RDS servers, but now all domain users can connect RDP to the RDS servers.
    so we need domain users to connect to the RDS published applications and restricting them from connecting RDP to the RDS servers, in addition I can see that internal servers are accessible from outside through the RD gateway server.
    any ideas ?

    Thank you for posting in Windows Server Forum.
    For a test you can create one group, assign the specified user under that group. Add that group under “Remote Desktop User” local group. For getting access to published Remote Application you can simply assign\add the group under collection properties of the
    application and that user can get access.
    For restricting user to server remotely, you can add that group of user under “Deny logon through remote desktop service” under User Rights assignment. Also you can check “Deny
    New User Logons to an RD Session Host Server” settings.

    Does this version also work with Moodle plugin?
    And - what about users syncing between Moodle and Adobe Connect?

    I don't see why it wouldn't work with the Moodle plug-in, as the API functionality is the same between the individual and enterprise versions of Connect. But the individual version of connect only does meetings and content, so if you need functionality beyond that, then that version wouldn't work for you.
    By syncing users, do you mean that you are wanting to use an AD or LDAP system? If so, then, no. That functionality is only available with a licensed deployment of the enterprise version of Connect. If you wanted to figure out creating an application to use the API functionality and configure that to sync users, then you may be able to do it, but that would be a large development project.

    I am migrating the Northwind database from Access to Oracle, and I am following the directions, but when I get to step 20, create a new connection for the Northwind User, Northwind - Migrated, I cannot create the connection. After running the converted model script that was generated by the workbench -- I don't see the Northwind - Migrated database. So how can I create a connection to it?
    Also -- after I ran the script, I did not see any messages in the log showing I ran the script, but the status bar at the bottom of the tool said script finished..... I am confused.

This setting can now be achieved through a web dynpro (Java) API (interface <a href="https://media.sdn.sap.com/javadocs/NW04s/SPS7/wd/com/sap/tc/webdynpro/clientserver/adobe/pdfdocument/api/IWDPDFDocumentAppearance.html">IWDPDFDocumentAppearance</a>). In web dynpro ABAP you would need to use the method handler of the <b>InteractiveForm</b> UI element (IF_WD_IACTIVE_FORM_METHOD_HNDL, SET_HIDE_TOOLBARS).

  • MOTD on Library connect for remote users?

    What I'm basically looking for: Is there a way so users connecting to my library from other machines recieve a Message Of The Day or similar?
    For instance, I'm slowly transferring my music from home to my laptop at work, and it would be nice to have something like "Recently Added: (blah blah blah)" appear for people upon connect.
    Is there a way to do this? If not, no big deal.

    I just tested your setup in my lab.
    Situation 1:
    RDS server in OU RDS, no policies applied accept Default Domain policies.
    Test user ITW\jklaas
    Starting Wordpad, hitting Save and checking the drives.
    As you can see in the Drives_Without_Policies I can see the Server's C-drive.
    Situation 2:
    RDS server in OU RDS
    Test user ITW\jklaas
    Created a single policy called HideDrives with 2 settings:
    1. User Config -> Policies -> Admin Templates -> Windows Components -> File Explorer -> "Hide these specified drives in My Computer" and choose to "Restrict all drives"
    2. Computer Config -> Policies -> Admin Templates -> System -> Group Policy -> "Configure user Group Policy loopback processing mode" and choose to Enable this setting in Merge mode
    Via Delegation I denied Apply to Domain Admins and linked the HideDrives policy to the OU RDS.
    Now if I logon with ITW\Jklaas and start RemoteApp Wordpad:
    The policy successfully hides the server's C-drive...
    So, this not working for you can mean several things.
    - loopback not configured for policy processing?
    - your test user is somehow excluded from the policy?
    - there's another error somewhere in the group policy components between your RDS and DC?
    Start troubleshooting by running the GP Result wizard in GP management for a user that has Word open and see if he/she gets the policies?

    I am starting an online tutoring business, and i would like to use Adobe Connect as the platform for tutoring service.  I would like what are the difference between using Adobe Connect (Enterprise) or Adobe Connect  (Individual).  I would like to input my company's logo in the Adobe Connect, but all i really need for my business is the webcam and whiteboard interface. 
    In addition,will there be legal problmes if i use Adobe Connect Individual  for my business?

    I'm not sure about the legal concerns around this (I would contact Adobe Enterprise Sales for this), but the major differences are that the individual site has are no customizations and you of course have smaller license limits (one meeting host).

  • How do I allow for outside Internet access to my server?

    I'm using Server on Mountain Lion and have set up my services and users. DNS is enabled and websites is enabled.
    I'm having a problem connecting to my server outside my local network, but any device inside of my network connect to my Server configured site. Is there something blocking an outside computer from accessing my site or is it a Domain hoster problem?

    I don't think we have enough information to go on here. What happens when you try to access the website from outside your network? Are you using a DNS record or IP address? Are you able to ping the DNS/IP address?
    @UptimeJeff Many residential ISPs (in the US) are becoming more lax when it comes to providing services from home, however they will not provide support if you have trouble, so that's something to keep in mind. I can speak from personal experience with Comcast and Suddenlink, but have heard the same from AT&T customers.
