Deploy Adobe Reader / Acrobat Incremental update on MAC OS.

I downloaded the incremental .dmg update for Reader 9.5.0. I don't know how to perform a silent incremental update using the DMG or APP file.
Thanks

For Mac - Enterprise deployment support was added for Reader 10.x and it is not present for Reader 9.x .

  • Deploying Adobe Reader & Flash Updates

I am currently looking for a  way to deploy non-Microsoft based product updates across our  organization. Some of the products I would like to be able to deploy  updates for include: Adobe Flash, Adobe Reader and Adobe Shockwave.
Presently, between our main office and our various branch offices we have:
5 Servers running Windows Server 2008 R2 Enterprise
1 Server running Windows Server 2008 Enterprise
1 Server running Windows Server 2003 R2 Standard
20-30 Workstations running Windows Xp Professional SP3
20-30 Workstations running Windows 7 Professional
Sadly, our organization does not current have a license for SCCM, so I  most likely will be deploying updates via our GPOs or scripts. Also, our  users do not have admin rights or anything, so lately I've been having  to manually authorize each of their updates  when the product (Adobe for example) checks for updates.
Does anyone have any suggestions or pointers?
    Thanks.

  • Mass deploy adobe reader with cusomized settings

I would like to mass deploy Adobe reader to both Mac and PC computers with customized settings.  Ideally, to have the program update in the background so the end user does not have to do anything.  Is there a way to do this on both platforms?

There is no unified platform agnostic deployment technology from Adobe that handles both deployment and updates to Acrobat.  You may want to look for third party deployment technology to do this for you.

  • Adobe Reader/Acrobat Is not Installed

I get an error on machines on our work network that says Adobe Reader/Acrobat is not installed. However most cases it is installed on the machine and in most cases it turns out to be the 8.1.1 version of Adobe reader. So what we have noticed is that the permissions do not seem to be right with the .pdf file extention. We manually add the users, power users group to the file extention and then we grant them full control over the extention and in most cases that as well will not work. The next step would be to uninstall 8.1.1 Adobe reader and then reboot. Upon the restart we will log on and install the 8.1.2 update. Sometimes this works but then again I have noticed that the users, power users group is not in the .pdf file extention. Then we will add them in and yet the user will still have the same error message. We have fun out of ideas and the other bad scenario is that this is free software and its very difficult to get support for. Anyone have any ideas?

    Hi snoreaustralia,
It sounds like you just need to associate the PDF filename extension with Acrobat, rather than Preview. Please see this document from the Microsoft Help for instructions on choosing the default program for opening a particular file type (in your case, PDF): Change which programs Windows uses by default - Windows Help

  • Trouble deploying Adobe Reader 11

I keep getting a failure with the following error when trying to deploy Adobe Reader 11.  The program for advertisement "RHP2022B has failed because download of the content "RHP00069" - "install reader" has failed. The download
failed because the content downloaded to the client does not match the content specified in the content source. Possible causes: The content on the distribution point has been manually modified, or a local administrator on the computer has modified the content
in the computer's hash. Solution: Refresh the content on the distribution point and retry the download.
The program never starts and goes right to failure.  I have refreshed the distribution point and have even removed and copied it back.  in my package i have the files acroread.msi, acroread.mst, setup.ini, and data1.cab.  Not sure if even
need the last two files.  My command line for the program is msiexec.exe /i "AcroRead.msi" /q TRANSFORMS="acroread.mst" running as admin.  Basically all the transform file does is turn off automatic updates and removes the previous
    version of reader.

Have you tried creating new Package ?
this issue normally resolved by refreshing the package to the DP, Hash mismatch should be resolved by Refresh of the content.

  • Adobe Reader/Acrobat Printing Issues - Weird Fonts / Characters - all versions

    Hi everybody.
I'm experiencing a very nasty issue with both adobe reader (last version) and acrobat.
When I print something with text, i get only strange characters, mostly symbols.
I cannot get out of this, I tried everything.
    Already tried
    1) print as image does not works, it's the same
    2) the box in pdf printer " print only with fonts on pc" is checked
    3) reinstalled both adobe applications
    3) reinstalled printer drivers
    4) i've installed and reinstalled those so called missing fonts but nothing
Next step is to change PDF reader. Any help?

    unfortunately it didn't work.
It's weird how an application (company) like this could not provide those kind of such easy fixes. I'm not expecting updates or so, but at least a troubleshooting paragraph about this specific problem.
This problem is well known, there are plenty of pages talking about it.
I just installed Foxit reader and printed pages were perfect. This demonstrate's Adobe Reader/Acrobat fault.

  • Adobe Reader 9.5 update "All Languages"

    Hi,
I know it has been a topic, but we need here to have the Adobe Reader 9.5 update (not the full installation) for "All languages" version, not the MUI version. I know this one exists, but not the "All languages" one.
Does it exists? I know that in another topic, the Adobe's employee was saying that we must install the full version to have 9.5. But with a company with almost 25 000 computers, it concerns me a bit.
And I needed to be in french.
Can anyone help me on this please?
    Thanks!
    Eric

    Hi,
Adobe Reader 9.5 can be installed over any existing Reader version previous to it. Hence, it should be treated as a regular update with some extra capabilities and enhancements.
To install French update, go to http://get.adobe.com/reader/otherversions/ and select appropriate configuration.
Or else, you can go to ftp://ftp.adobe.com/pub/adobe/reader/ and download the installer of your choice and deploy it on all machines of your company the way you wish to.
    Hope this suffices.

  • Help with opening Adobe Reader and downloading updates

I can not open Adobe .pdf files any longer (this started yesterday, prior to that I could open adobe files).
When I double click a .pdf file I get this notice on my screen: Windows cannot access the specified device path or file. You may not have the appropriate permission to access file.
So I went to the Adobe download site to download a new copy of Adobe.  When I start the download I get this on the screen:  The instruction at "0x0e3a0068" referenced memory at "0x0e3a0068."  The memory could not be written.  Then two options are listed: click OK to terminate or cancel to debug.  So I click on cancel and I get this on my screen: Internet Explorer has closed this webpage to help protect your computer.   A malfunctioning or malicious addon has caused I.E. to close this webpage.
I don't have AVG running, I do have avast but I've disabled it.  I ran Registry Mechanic and an I.E. erasure program but nothing helps.
I have gone into I.E. and reduced the security level to its lowest state but no joy.
So, any ideas or suggestions on what's the problem and how to overcome it would be appreciated.  Thanks, in advance, for your reply.  Jim R.

Hi Mike..tried that as well but no joy.  A friend of mine was looking at it all and noticed that it was an I.E. thing as far as not letting me redownload the reader so I went to Mozilla Firefox and I could download a new version but....whenever I attempt to open a .pdf file I get that message, "Windows can not open the specified device, path or file. You man not have the appropriate permissions to access the item."
Damn...this is irritating as I need to get to some of thos files as I need them for a Journal I'm working on as editor-in-chief.
It all worked just fine last Saturday but starting Monday when I was on my flight out to D.C.  no joy.
    Sigh...Jim R.

  • Adobe Reader 9.3 Update, DELL Monitor Issue, Comes up as Mobile PC

    Hi Folks,
I have currently discovered a bug in the Adobe Reader 9.3 Update released on 1/12/2010 where in a multi-monitor environment one of the monitors or sometimes multiple monitors come up as a Moblie Display.
I have seen this happen when the update is applied on a Windows 7 64bit box with Quad or Dual Monitor set-up. Using Dell p2210t Monitors and Nvidia Quado NVS Cards (all models) not sure if this is only happening on other OS's with the same set-up but that's what we've seen. I have since stopped running the upgrade or roll it back on affected machines.
I wonder if ADOBE knows of the issue and has an update for it.

Use the forum for Adobe Reader.

  • Adobe Reader & Acrobat 6~9 Group Policy ADM file (only applied once?)

Hi folks. I created the below ADM template last month based on some of the ones I have seen elsewhere. I import the ADM file to use with Group Policy and make the necessary settings (need to uncheck "Only show policy settings that can be fully managed" to see it in GPO Editor).
Anyway, when the user logs on it stamps them with the desired registry setting (bEnableJS value 0). Yay! But I notice that if a user re-enables JavaScript in Adobe Reader/Acrobat and then logs off and back on again (reboot or logoff/on) the registry setting does not get re-applied. All other pre-existing Group Policies get applied and doing a gpresult or rsop.msc has everything looking as though it did get applied.
I notice that if I manually do a "gpupdate /force" to a logged on system the setting appears to be reapplied (need to reconfirm this though). Has anyone expierienced similar with their ADM templates for this? Perhaps I am missing something? Appreciate any help/advice.

Hey, what you have described is normal behaviour for the way you have written your Custom ADM file.
Because you are not using Proper Windows Policies, i.e. Setting them in the policy location in the registry, then once you apply a setting, it will not get over written again ever unless you made a group policy change or do a gpupdate.
Normal group policies will get re-applied depending on the time frame set in the policy its self.
