Deploy an internal DPS folio

Hi all,
We actually working arround deploying an internal DPS Folio in our company.
We already have a single edition licence included with our Creative Cloud program.
I found a ressource on Adobe website on how to deploy an internal viewer (see here) and it's mention that you need the DPS Enterprise edition.
In our case, we only need a single folio app, so we don't need a viewer with multi issues.
Can someone from Adobe confirm that, with a Single Edition Licence, and a iOS Developer Enterprise Program enrollment, I'll be able to deploy internally this content ? Or, for deploying an internal DPS Folio, you absolutly need a DPS enterprise edition ?
Thanks,
Benoit.

To create an app for unlimited internal distribution, you need a DPS Enterprise License and iOS Developer Enterprise License. Using DPS Enterprise, you can create Enterprise signed builds for internal distribution. This feature is not available with Creative Clould/DPS Single edition or Professional edition, it's DPS Enterprise only feature.
Alternatively, you may manually add upto 100 UDID's in your Mobile Provisinoing files if you have limited distribution.

  • Ad Hoc distribution with app built from DPS folio

Hi, I was wondering if it was possible to deploy (ad hoc) an app built from the DPS tools.  If it is, what are the implications and the methods?  Currently, the only way that I am able to build iPad applications from DPS folio documents is from the Viewer Builder.  Are there extra steps that are required to distribute these .app files via ad hoc?  Thanks.

I want to have an option where i want to connect a pdf to a button in DPS folio. I cannot upload the pdf on the any server and link it. So is there a way to connect or embed a pdf in the dps folio?

"The PDF image format now works on Android and Desktop Viewer, but linking to PDF files in HTMLResources.zip file still isn't supported. That works only in iOS and the Desktop Viewer."
we are currently facing the problem our selfs.
we try to make a workaround using this: http://www.adobe.com/devnet/digitalpublishingsuite/articles/dps-pdf-to-indesign.html

  • Best practice for exporting a dps folio so a third party can work on it?

    Hi All,
Keen for some thoughts on the best practice for exporting a dps folio, indd files, links and all, so a third party can carry on the work. Is their a better alternative to packaging each individual indd file and sharing the folio through adobe?
I know there have been similar questions here in the past, but the last (that i've found) was updated mid 2011 and I was wondering if their have been any improvements to this seemingly backwards workflow since then.
    Thanks in advance!

Nothing better than packaging them and using Dropbox to share. I caution you
on one thing as far as packaging:

  • Thumbnail View in DPS Folio Producer: Editor

    Hi,
When will the thumbnail view for PDF folios become available in the DPS Folio Producer: Editor? This feature is waiting since a very long time to be implemented.
Or switch at least the behavior so the list view opens by default. Or remove the thumbnail view.

I'll pass the suggestions along to the Folio Producer team, thanks.

  • Viewing DPS folio on Content Viewer on PC

I am developing a DPS folio on a Mac for publication on iOS devices. I have a co-worker who needs to review my content on a PC. He is not using Adobe apps but has downloaded the Content Viewer on his PC. I have shared my folio with him and he can read it on an iPad. But we have not found a way for him to access my folio on a PC. Is this possible?

    Thanks Bob,
Actually, the content viewer on a PC can be downloaded at http://helpx.adobe.com/digital-publishing-suite/help/installing-digital-publishing-tools.h tml and since it's a standalone executable, it does not require InDesign, etc., to be installed.
Yes, this person has an Adobe ID (but not Creative Suite) and yes, I have successfully shared this folio.
He and others would like to use Adobe Connect to review this app with me. The group I work within are mostly developers using PCs and I am developing documentation on a Mac/Creative Suite.

  • Viewing Folios with DPS Folio Producer and Adobe Content Viewer on IPad?

What is the path to viewing a folio, on an IPad, that has been published with the DPS Folio Producer.
Opening Adobe Content Viewer on IPad has no obvious path to the folio in the Producer.
There is no obvious path to the library in Adobe Content Viewer, either?
Logged in both with Adobe I.D.
    Using ID CS6 on Windows.
Also as a Creative Cloud single member what is the process of being able to publish unlimited apps to the IPad.
Thank you in advance for your response.
    James Goins

Unfortunately, if you're on Windows you have no process to publish an
    app. You need a Mac.
I wish Adobe would allow Creative Cloud members to use the same process
that Pro and Enterprise subscribers have by exporting a zip file. You
still need a Mac but you can pretty much use any Mac you have access to.
With Creative Cloud to publish a Single Edition app, you must have
InDesign installed on a Mac and you generate the app by choosing create
app from the folio builder panel menu.
All that said, if you create a folio while signed into the folio builder
panel, that folio should show up in Adobe Content Viewer as long as
    you're properly signed into it.

  • DPS Folio producer / Organizer: library filters

    Hello,
It would be great to be able to fill the "library filter" with several items in Folio Producer.
    Thanks.

    Thank you for your replies.
It does list all of the articles, yes. Just no thumbnails.
We didn't export anything to PDF - they are all still indesign files...why would it have changed to PDF? Will the issue still work when submitting it to apple, if you can't see the thumbnails in the DPS folio producer organizer?

  • Export or package a DPS folio file to a html format

Can you export or package a DPS folio file to a html format, packed with all of the images? Thank you for letting me know

Thank you for letting me know Neil. Is it possible to export the DPS Folio File to any other format than .folio, which could be accessible for someone who doesn't have InDesign or an Adobe account?
    Thank you for your help!

  • DPS Folio Producer: Editor

    Hi
I've just noticed whenever we open a .Folio in the DPS Folio Producer: Organizer we are taken to the editor screen which uses Acrobat.com Workspaces.
Will this feature be effected by the retirement of workspaces? If so what will replace it? We currently have a lot of folios being shared with clients.
    Thanks

The retirement of Workspaces should have no impact on the Digital Publishing Suite.
When you're taken to the editor screen from the Organizer, what do you see for the website address: https://digitalpublishing.acrobat.com or https://workspaces.acrobat.com?

  • Pages of Folio have disappeared in DPS Folio Producer: Organizer

    Hi there,
We designed our latest magazine issue and by default it was set to version 20. It was showing up fine at this point in the DPS Folio Producer Organizer. When we updated to the latest software we had quite a few issues, so in trying to fix those issues we updated the version of the folio to version 24. Now none of our pages are showing up in the DPS Folio Producer Organizer and our new issue is simply an empty shell (In the DPS Folio Producer Organizer, not in indesign though). I have updated all of the articles individually, but it's still saying our folio is empty on the DPS Folio Producer Organizer. What am I doing wrong? What can we do to fix it?

    Thank you for your replies.

  • Problem viewing portrait dps folio article

I am using InDesign CC to create a dps app. After I downloaded the folio article to my Adobe Content Viewer on my iPad Air, the photo in the portrait is obscured so that only a corner is visible. In landscape, I can see the entire
photo. What am I doing wrong?

Thank you for your response. First, I did try the jpeg photo in another
folio article. It was OK in both portrait and landscape. However, in the
meantime, I went back to photoshop and resized the photo from 576x362 px to
724X480px Resolution 72 Resample Bicubic Smoother Enlargement.  I placed it
on the original folio layout I had the problem with and increased the
portrait size to 651x816 px and the landscape size to 896x610 px. Then I
set the opacity to 85% and the blend mode to Luminosity. Precisely all the
steps I took for the problematic folio article. Finally I tested it on the
iPad Air and iPad3. Worked fine in both portrait and landscape on both
devices. My immediate problem is resolved. (Peter, thank you for your
    'House' advice.)

  • DPS Folio Producer: Editor thumbnails are missing.

How to you get thumbnails to appear within the DPS dashboard?
I can see them in the list view, but not in the thumbnail view window. The appear fine on the iPad Adobe Viewer.
    Thanks!

Currently PDF articles don't display thumbnails in the folio editor.
