Deploy reports...

I have created a repository (rpd file) in oracle BI administration tool. Using this repository,created a couple of reports in Answers and also created my own dashboard which shows these reports.
I would like to deploy this to the enduser so that they can run these reports.
In the end user environment, I do know that I can place the .rpd file in the server\repository and also create a system DSN to access the database.
I am not sure how to deploy the reports and dashboards that I created?? These are in oracle presentation catalog. How do I let the enduser access these?
Not sure whether this is right way to do it.
Any help is appreciated.

Has there been a discussion of what the difference between analytics and reporting is?
Knowing that answer allows you to choose the technology that best fits the application which in turn answers the pressing business questions that need answers as outlined in your requirements document. I assume you've got one of those as well.

I am developing the reports locally (Win XP), and then checking them into source control. They need to be deployed to a BO Server for Dev, Test and Prod.
I would like to be able to create a script to deploy the reports into the different environments.
In addition, the datasource needs to be changed before deploying to TEST (since it is on the same server as DEV, just a different port). Having to manually open each report and change the datasource as the reports are migrated could get to be time consuming as the number of reports increases.

Urgent!! Deploy reports for Developer suite 10g (Newbie)

Hi All,
I've generated few jsp report using report builder from developer suite 10g. I know in the developer suite 9i. I just copy these jsp files under \reports\j2ee\web. Then start OC4J Instance, and type in from browser as http://localhost:8888/reports/testreport.jsp?userid=username/password@dbconnection. However, it doesn't work for 10g. Is there any different in deploy report for 10g? Please help....

It's impossible to help us if you doesn't specify what error messages you get?
If I should take a guess, you're using the wrong port number. Did you check if it's correct before posting your message? Most Developer Suite 10g installations comes with port number 8889.

Deploying reports to 9ias

Is there a standard way to move Oracle reports to a 9ias server? Should they be put in a specific directory? I have not seen this documented anywhere.
Please advise

I assume you want to deploy "rdf" reports.
1) You can put it in any directory and set the path in REPORTS_PATH registry variable (HKLM\Software\Oracle\Home<x>)
2) Alternatively you can publish reports in Portal.

How to deploy reports to anothe managed Server (Weblogic)

Hi everyone
I would like to know how could i deploy reports to another managed server in weblogic.
When i first installed forms and reports it asked me to where i want to deploy and everything works fine.
But i have created another managed server afterwards and i would like this server to be configured with reports, but it won´t work.
I don´t know if i have to run the installer again selecting this new server or is there another better way to do this.

I think you need to extend the domain instead of creating the managed instance manually through Admin console. By default when you create a domain using OSB domain template, it deploys all of the applications needed automatically to all the instances. If you are trying to do it manually, then you need to follow the documentation to see which applications need to be deployed to use OSB services.

To deploy a project, Login to SB console http://<admin>:<port>/sbconsole > System Administration > Export/Import Resources.

How to deploy reports from one environment to another in CoD

Hi Experts,
I'm actually in training with an Oracle partner in order to learn how to create reports in CoD.
It seems quite easy.
But the trainer here told us to develop directly the new reports on the Prod environment.
I've asked why, cause we also have Dev and Test environment.
And he answerer me that there's no way to deploy reports from one environment to another, the only way is to redevelop it on each environment.
As for me it seems impossible not to be able to deploy reports from dev to test and then test to prod, I'm directly asking experts.
So could you please confirm this or not, and maybe provide me an example of what you're doing on your side to copy from one environment to another.

Hi Garth - I don't recreate the SU group. I recreate the deployment from
the SU group.
The SU Group contains all deployed updates and the deployment is a "catch-up" and targets a collection of all clients on the particular platform ie. Server 2008 R2. It's a mandatory deployment and I've set it to report "all messages" as opposed to the default
"success and failure".
There's no particular SU that are showing ESU. It's the client that shows ESU via the report "Enforcement States for a Deploymennt", and it's only ever the clients that were "Pending System Restart" previously that change to "Enforcement State
Unknown". The software centre on these clients all know they're pending restart, and if the pending restart is performed on the client it will then change to "Compliant", but it never changes from ESU while its real state is "Pending Restart".
Hopefully that clarifies the scenario.
Like I said, I have a workaround, but I'd like to eliminate this behaviour on all my SCCM 2012 instances which are all affected.

Also, to deploy reports through Report Manager you should have the Admin access and then you just have to upload reports.

Part A:
I've done some restating of the question, and distributed the calculations among several fields, not all of which need to be included on the visible layout. Other than formatting the Date fields and moving the 'Completed Date' field and its label, I've left this in the default "Layout 1" produced by AppleWorks.
Field List:
Priority: Popup menu with six items: 00, J, D, 1, 2, 3 Defaults to 00
TL (time limit in months): Calculation: CHOOSE('Priority',0,1,3,4,6,12)
Received: Date. Option: Automatically insert today's date (ie. Date Record created) (may be edited)
Target Date: Calculation:
DATE(YEAR('Received')+INT(MONTH('Received')+'TL')/12,MOD(MONTH('Received')+'TL', 12),DAY('Received'))
Remaining (Days): Calculation: INT('Target Date'+1-NOW()) (see revision below)
Completed: Checkbox. Set default value to Unchecked.
Completed Date: Date: Entered manually
OnTarget: Calculation: IF('Completed',IF('Completed Date'<'Target Date',"On Target","Over"),IF(INT(NOW())>'Target Date',"Over","On Target"))
The On Target field shows the current status of the case while still open, and the state on the closing date when it was closed.
Having done that, I was unhappy with the Remaining field continuing to calculate an ever larger negative number after the case had been closed. Hence this revision below:
Remaining: Calculation: IF('Completed','Target Date'-'Completed Date',INT('Target Date'+1-NOW()))
Shows the number of days remaining while the case is open, the days remaining at completion if the case has been marked Completed and the completion date entered.
Rsults (and some further formatting of the Layout) below.
Part B:
You will need Subsummary parts when sorted on Completed and on On Target. Fields can appear on a Layout only once, so each subsummary part will need a separate Summary type field for each field to be summarized.

Deploying reports for a WPF application

hi,
we should create and deploy reports for a WPF application. The app is developed in VS 2013, following the MVVM pattern and using Oracle DB.
We are newbie with this matter, so we are searching the best approach to accomplish the job. Our goal would be detach reports from the deployment package and store them to a server folder, so that users can run them by editing something like:
http://myserver/myapp/reports/[reportname]
The issue we are experiencing is that reports seem to be launch from the user's computer, and need a Oracle Client installed on each client computer to load data, while the application works with no Oracle Client installed. We tried both Crystal Reports
and Report Viewer, and installed an Oracle Client on the report server; but we could not get them to work. we also tried to install ReportViewer Reporting Service, but we dont know how it works. notice that company policies forbid installing Oracle Client
in the client computers.
Can anybody give us some hint on what is the correct approach to solve our problem? thanks

Windows SBS 2008 Deployment Report for Updates in SBS Console Is Empty

The SBS Console on my Windows SBS 2008 is able to report updates which are available for deployment, and it also is aware of the number of computers which are affected by the update in the Security>Updates summary page in the SBS console. However, if
I select an update and click "View the update deployment report," there are no computers listed.
I have gone through the steps outlined in these posts:

My variables read read TEMP=C:\user\me\appdata\local\temp\1 and TEM=C:\user\me\appdata\local\temp\1 from the command line, but in the Environment Variables window, they both read as C:\user\me\appdata\local\temp\

(I was unable to run this from the command line, even though I was running the command as administrator, and had remote connections allowed. I ended up running this command in the SQL management studio.)

I did take a look at the console. When I refresh the list under the Updates
tab in the Security ribbon, I get multiple lines of:

Our current application has Oracle reports deployed on Oracle AS and Oracle Report Server. Can we replicate same scenario for Crystal report.
Means can we use Crystal Report on Oracle App Server / Oracle Report Server. Or do I need to use Crystal report Server

Deploy reports in ssrs which are renamed and avoid multiple copies

Hi, I have renamed few of my reports renamed and checked in. Usually we deploy it from BIDS off of TFS reports solution. We are using SQL Server 2008 R2 version. I tried deploying these reports to DEV & QA environments and report manager has 2 copies
of the same report one with the old name & the other with the rename. What would be the approriate way to delete these reports from Production without having to do it manually.

Create and deploy reports that don't depend on concrete environment.

I want to do the following:
Create a report in my sandbox for using with SCCM 2012 reporting system. Report will show customized hardware inventory information. Then install that report on production environment. Production environment is differ from my sandbox. Different report server
URL or data source DB name and etc. Only stable part of report is the SQL query and display options.
Does anyone know how can I achive this?
Currently I am looking at rs.exe utility but I'm not sure that is a right way.

Datasource name can be made dynamic by using expression based connection strings
