Deploy Sun's petstore 1.3.1_02 to Weblogic 6.1 sp3

I would like to know if I can deploy Sun's version of petstore 1.3.1_02 on Weblogic
6.1 sp3.
Weblogic 6.1 provides instructions for deploying Sun's petstore 1.1.2.
Are there instuctions and a weblogic patch available for petstore 1.3.1_02.
Would the instructions and patch for petstore version 1.1.2 work?
Thanks

Eva, as a J2EE 1.3 app, PetStore 1.3.1_02 requires a J2EE 1.3 server. BEA's first
J2EE 1.3 server is WLS 7.0.
With that said, we don't have a patch for it, yet. Stay tuned.

  • How would a corporation deploy Sun ONE Web Proxy Server?

A corporation should deploy Sun ONE Web Proxy Server at the following key places:
    * The Internet gateway: Sun ONE Web Proxy Server deployed just behind the firewall facilitates access to the Internet and reduces response times and communications expense.
    * Major sub-network connections: Marketing, Sales, Product Development, Human Resources, and Finance departments might have their own subnetworks. An Sun ONE Web Proxy Server deployed at each subnet can reduce traffic on the corporate backbone.
    * Remote offices that are disconnected from the internal network: Sun ONE Web Proxy Server can provide a quick mechanism for replicating content when necessary, providing better company integration and increasing network performance without large capital and communications expense.
    * Internationally: Outside the United States, communications bandwidth is typically much more expensive, making Sun ONE Web Proxy Servers even more cost effective. Every international office can make use of an Sun ONE Web Proxy Server.
    * Outside the firewall as a Web server substitute in reverse proxy configuration: This protects information on the secure Web server behind the firewall and offers load balancing via caching.

If u wait for a week or so, SP4 will also be there.

  • Deploying Sun Java - and controlling settings centrally

    Hello.
We are trying to deploy Sun Java to corporate PCs (XPsp2) silently and also to ensure the settings are correct for our environment.
Deploying silently is easy (documented here and using SMS).
Some settings appear to be stored in the registry, and so we can control these by creating Active Directory Group-Policy templates.
However, some settings are stored in "document.properties" in the users profile - and this file is not accessible via normal centralised management techniques.
We want to set the downloaded Java folder (deployment.user.cachedir) to, say, c:\temp on all PCs. We cannot have the default option of having it installed in the user profile, as users profiles are quota'd and are cross-site roaming, so it is key to keep them small.
We would also turn off updates; tray icon etc etc.
We could manually modify this file in everyones user profile - but this is far from ideal, and indeed quite messy.
Is there a separate install package available to corporates where options can be determined in advance? Or is there a way we can apply this?
    Many thanks!

I'm going to take a guess here... It's a known situation that, within a single instance of Internet Explorer, you can't have two different kinds of JVM running. So, for example, if you started a new instance of IE, and ran a forms session using JInitiator for a while; then came out of forms but, staying within the same IE instance, started an app using Sun JVM - you'll get a very nasty crash.
However, there should be nothing to stop you simultaneously running separate IE instances, one running JInitiator, one running Sun JVM.
Something to be aware of is that you can have multiple IE windows open, but all existing under the same IE process. For example, if you do CTRL-N from an IE window, you get a new window, but it's still part of the same process - you can see this by checking Task Manager. You can also get multiple windows sharing one process when a link opens in a new window, or you use a desktop shortcut when IE is already open. To guarantee a whole new IE process, the simplest way is to just start IE from the desktop / start menu.
You state that the order in which people open the two apps makes a difference. I wonder if the different order affects whether a new process is started or an existing one shared?
    Good luck,
    James

  • Cannot deploy SJSC jsf projects on weblogic 8.1 SP3

I rencently downloaded sjsc and now I'm tyring to deploy a sjsc / jsf project to weblogic 8.1 sp3, and keep getting this error:

Description: An unhandled exception occurred during the execution of the web application. Please review the following stack trace for more information regarding the error.

    Possible Source of Error:
    Class Name: com.sun.faces.application.ViewHandlerImpl
    File Name: ViewHandlerImpl.java
    Method Name: renderView
    Line Number: 140
    =========================================
The project is a simple HelloWorld project with an input box and an output text box with a submit button. I have seen two other posts with similar requests. I tried teh solution on the wiki site: http://wiki.java.net/bin/view/People/DeployingCreatorApps -- but I still get the same error.
Any HELP would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks

    Hi
Are you creating a war file in Creator and trying to deploy on Weblogic 8.1 ? In that case you need to rename the warfile before deploying on to Weblogic. For Eg: if you export war file (myapp.war) from creator then rename it to myappa.war.
    Hope this helps.
    Thanks

  • How to deploy the EJB which used Japanese word on Weblogic server

    Hi All,
I am running a test on WIN 2K pro Japanese system. When I deploy an ejb bean with
using Japanese character in the Java src code and also in ejb-jar.xml file, some
    exceptions were thrown.
I am thinking that the weblogic cann’t pass ejb-jar.xml which is encoding as UTF-8
but with Japanese character. Could you please let me know how to configure the
Weblogic to solve the problem or to encode the ejb-jar.xml differently?
    Any suggestion will be welcome.

    Hi Wenhao,
I did face something similar ....but when i tried it again...it worked..
In case it does not then before u try to start the procedure to dwnld the Enterprise service wsdl....
uncheck the wsdl validator check box in NWDS...
I suggest u first try to consume the wsdl by importing it locally...
just follow this blog by Boris step by step..
    /people/boris.mohr/blog/2007/01/23/how-to-guide-for-consuming-a-web-service-with-a-standalone-client-using-sap-netweaver-application-server-javatm-ee-5-edition
Once u r able to do this..then u can try to consume it from service registry

    hi,
Maybe your commons-digester is not the same version as provided with struts-1.2.8

  • Should deploying a .rar put those classes in the Weblogic Classpath?

Should deploying a .rar put those classes in the Weblogic Classpath?
I am deploying an EJB and a RAR, the EJB has no dependencies on the
RAR b/c the EJB is writing to the Common Client Interface(CCI). The EJB
              client app has
sends/marshals as parameters classes that are defined in the RAR.
For some reason the EJB's class loader hierachy cannot find the definition
of this RAR specific class, even though the RAR is deploying. I receive the
following error on the EJB client:
              ===========================================================
java.rmi.UnmarshalException: error unmarshalling arguments; nested exception
              is:
              java.lang.ClassNotFoundException:
              com.myclientcompany.server.eai.InteractionSpecImpl
              java.lang.ClassNotFoundException:
              com.myclientcompany.server.eai.InteractionSpecImpl

When you pass an instance of
              com.myclientcompany.server.eai.InteractionSpecImpl
as an argument to your EJB, the appServer needs to
              de-serialize(unmarshall)
the object under the EJB context, and it needs the required class for
              unmarshalling,
              inside the ejb-jar(raTester.jar).
So if you include the interactionspecimpl class in your ejb-jar file,
              then you dont need
to include those classes in your server's classpath.

  • Deploy ADF Fusion Web Application on Amazon EC2 Weblogic

    Hi,
I am trying to deploy ADF Fusion Web Application (developed using JDev) on Amazon EC2 Weblogic app server but with no success.
Can anyone enlighten me how to deploy ADF Fusion Web App on Amazon EC2 Weblogic?
    Thanks for kind assistance!

    Hi,
    Thanks for your prompt assistance.
I managed to run "wls_jumpstart" but I am unable to start the console even though I have created a domain.
I cannot find any instructions anywhere about deploying ADF Fusion Web Apps on Amazon EC2 Weblogic or any case studies of success anywhere.
Hence, I am not sure if ADF Runtime is available on the Weblogic on Amazon EC2. Can you please help me in this area as well?
It will be great if you can point me to some instructions on how to load web apps to Amazon EC2 Weblogic as I am quite new to both JDev and Amazon EC2.
    Thanks.

  • Exception/error messages from remotely deploying sun application server 8.2

    Hi
I have a solaris network with some servers running sun application server 8.2. When I deploy applications to these application servers (using ant) from a single server connected to them on the netwrok, sometimes exceptions are thrown. What is done now, is the person doing the deploying from the central server, logs onto each server with an appserver and looks through each application servers log file to see if there were any exceptions thrown while deploying apps on that server. What I would like to do is find some way to have those exceptions sent back to the deploying system so that they can show up on the terminal from which the any script was run.
appserver <------------------------- central server running ant -----------------------------------> appserver
    / | \
    / | \
    / | \
    / | \
    / | \
    appserver appserver appserver
Many appservers getting apps deployed to them through the use of ant. Want to catch any exception thrown by any of the appservers and view on terminal on central server running ant.
    Any ideas/thoughts?
    Thanks...
    Mike

The diagram did not come the way I had hoped. It was suppose to look like the "central server running ant" was pointing to a number of different servers running an appserver.
    Thanks for any suggestions...
    Mike

What is the problem? Do I need any special permissions? I have even tried deploying as root and it still just hangs.
Thanks for any help that you might provide.

I ran into the same problem.
"stracing" the hanging process I found that the installer tried to connect to an IP mapped to my hostname in /etc/hosts:
    bind(6, {sa_family=AF_INET, sin_port=htons(0), sin_addr=inet_addr("0.0.0.0")}, 16) = 0
    getsockname(6, {sa_family=AF_INET, sin_port=htons(38792), sin_addr=inet_addr("0.0.0.0")}, [16]) = 0
    connect(6, {sa_family=AF_INET, sin_port=htons(36047), sin_addr=inet_addr("192.168.1.107")}, 16) = -1 EHOSTUNREACH (No route to host)
Problem was that the mapping of my hostname to IP 192.168.1.107 was not valid any more. Updating the IP mapped to the hostname to the current IP AND RERUNNING the setup procedure solved the problem.
